Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. The overnights are your first look at what to potentially expect when the other results come in. And we always take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.
-Winners:
Nothing
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“A.D. The Bible Continues” (NBC), “Revenge” (ABC), “Battle Creek” (CBS), “American Odyssey” (NBC)
———-
-Ratings Breakdown:
It was an easy household overnight victory for CBS on this depressed second Sunday in May, with an advantage of 71 percent over distant No. 2 ABC. But the Eye net’s combination of two episodes of granddaddy “60 Minutes” (7 p.m.: 6.1/12; 8 p.m.: 6.4/ 11), the season-finale of “The Good Wife” (6.7/11) and canceled “Battle Creek” (4.0/ 7), which led each half-hour, is unlikely to generate much interest among adults 18-49.
ABC populated the evening with veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#3: 3.6/ 7), the two-hour season-finale of tiring “Once Upon a Time” (#2: 3.3/ 6 from 8-10 p.m.) and the series-finale of “Revenge,” which exited at a modest 3.5/ 6 at 10 p.m. (#3). Once a water-cooler worthy entry, “Revenge” could never rebound after moving to Sunday in season two.
NBC, which is approximate, got a boost in the 7 p.m. hour with coverage of the PGA Golf Tour at a 5.8/12 in the household overnights. And that led into an 8-9 p.m. edition of “Dateline” (#3: 2.8/ 5), “A.D. The Bible Continues” (#3: 2.9/ 5 at 9 p.m.) and “American Odyssey,” which earned its cancellation stripes at a mere 1.8/ 3 (#3) at 10 p.m.
And Fox filled the night with repeats of “The Simpsons” (#4: 1.0/ 2) and “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 0.9/ 2) from 7-8 p.m., followed by “The Simpsons” (#4: 1.8/ 3), “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” (#4: 1.6/ 3), a repeat of “Family Guy” (#4: 1.5/ 2) and “an original installment of “Bob’s Burgers” (#4: 1.4/ 2) from 8-10 p.m.

Looking at the HH's I think it'll be
ReplyDelete1,7-1,8 for Once
1,6 for Revenge
What was the last HH for Once Upon a Time? 3.1?
ReplyDelete'The series-finale of “Revenge,” which exited at a modest 3.5/ 6 at 10 p.m"-So why the loser tag Marc?
ReplyDeleteCause he is Marc, no explanation needed. And so he could laugh at people going mad here.
ReplyDeleteRatings? Who cares about ratings when it's UPFRONTS WEEK! Surprised this came early though! C'mon CBS, where are those renewals already!
ReplyDeleteIt seems really low for the OUAT finale, I think Revenge did okay.
ReplyDeleteIt's on par with their latest numbers. I'm not surprised it didn't rose.
ReplyDeleteBut HH are tricky and they could rise to 1,9-2,0, U never know.
"tiring Once Upon a Time" what does that mean?
ReplyDeleteThat he has lost his inspiration and just writes stuff to fill his place.
ReplyDeleteHe's so inconsistent.
ReplyDeletei hope 1,4 or more for Revenge
ReplyDeleteCBS is really letting us wait. Very unusual from the network that usually has a mass renewal announcement in March.
ReplyDeleteSo Revenge grew on OUAT on HH and its up 5 tenths from the last time. I'm guessing Revenge did around 1.4-1.5
ReplyDeleteKnew Revenge wouldn't go up much. It'll probably skew younger. OUAT won't be strong enough to launch a new drama. ABC needs a drama with some buzz at 9.
ReplyDeleteIt means that OUAT underwent erosion over time
ReplyDeleteOk, so my guess would be:
ReplyDelete1.8 for the 2 hours of OUAT
1.4 for the Revenge finale (though it could be a 1.5)
3.2, I believe
ReplyDeleteI think ABC will launch Of Kings and Prophets on Sunday, probably at 9 pm while Nashville will be the 10 pm occupant.
ReplyDeleteGuessing 1.7 from OUAT then will adjust to a 1.8
ReplyDeleteThen Revenge 1.3
FOX looks terrible! Though we need to wait for the demos to truly decide
ReplyDeleteMost likely
ReplyDeleteI would be okay if revenge went out on a 1.3
ReplyDeleteYeah, the HH are very confusing most of the time. But still, I was hoping to score at least 2.0 for the finale.
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be something between 1.08 and 2.0 for OUAT. I'm pretty sure OUAT will win the demo.
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting about ratings with the upfronts! Looks like OUAT rose a small bit. I hope it rise more for S5.
ReplyDeleteIn the final ratings it got a 3.1.
ReplyDeleteFox has been very confusing on Sundays all season. One week they had all-new episodes of every show, then they had all repeats except for one and next they doubled up on LMOE episodes. No wonder its ratings are inconsistent.
ReplyDeleteTwo weeks ago it was 3.1.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is The Family and Castle on Sundays. Kings maybe as a filler during the ms break.
ReplyDeleteAnnouncing a final season and move Nashville at 10 pm Sundays will be the best thing ABC can do with it.
ReplyDeleteI think The Family will go to Wednesdays at 10. Maybe Castle moves to Sunday, but I could also see it moving to Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteSo I was right, Revenge was more watched than OUAT !
ReplyDeletePS : I love both, I'm not a Revenge fan / OUAT hater, I'm just noticing ^^
Last week, Revenge got a 3.3, while OUAT 3.1, but OUAT was more watched than Revenge ( 5.3 milions versus 4.8 milions ) :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I see. My bad
ReplyDeletePeople are saying Quantico will go to Tuesdays 10pm cause it's compatible with SHIELD. But wouldn't be surprised if they put Castle there.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many options and just God knows what ABC is planning.
Yeah, ABC really does have a lot of series, both returning and new ones. Maybe Quantico is compatible with SHIELD, but SHIELD itself isn't exactly pulling high numbers. And look at what happened to Forever in the 10 pm slot. Only if SHIELD moves to 10, then I can see Quantico at Tuesdays.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting really concerned about OUAT. It seems to be slipping. It may need The Muppets as a lead in to help rejuvenate it. I thought the season finale was horrible and I'm skeptical about returning next season. If CBS could air something worthy in the 8pm timeslot, I may be done with it. I don't care about Emma becoming the dark one or searching for Merlin.
ReplyDeleteWhat do U mean by doesn't deserve?
ReplyDelete10Pm Tuesday's is a tough spot for ABC (not the only one). Castle has a more stable fanbase so moving to Tuesdays could work for the show, I assume this will be its finale season.
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to wait and see what the peops at ABC will decide/reveal tomorrow.
U mean it doesn't deserves to be a lead in. That's different.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a new OUAT storyline with The Muppets LOL.
ReplyDeleteLow... if OUAT doesn't rise S5 is the last. Hope A&E is wise & put no cliffhanger... :(
ReplyDeleteOUAT is one of the last problems on Abc and it's their best performer on sunday nights, don't worry :)
ReplyDeleteBig soaps like The Family starring Joan Allen, or Boom will be great at 9. They need new Desperate Housewives-ish hit!
ReplyDeleteI know but people keep quitting & hating it. It annoys me. Hope S6 is a go but I hope in no cliffhanger thou. Hope A&E are wise,
ReplyDeleteAoS will be okay at 10 with 1.2-.1.4 in 18-49. Quantico may to be their next big hit like Murder.
ReplyDeleteplus don't actors have a 5 years contract?
ReplyDeleteIt's too early to think about season 6, we need to see the ratings for season 5 :)
ReplyDeleteAny theories as to why? Is there a sticky show or two?
ReplyDeleteyes and that scares me so A&E please put no cliffhanger in S5. I think it'll reach 1.0 or 0.9 so bye OUAT... I'm fine if there is no cliffhanger.
ReplyDeletedid Revenge end with a cliffhanger?
ReplyDeleteYour pessimism is starting to bother me a bit to be honest. I don't think OUAT will ever hit ratings that low, its rating trajectory doesn't foresee slips that hard
ReplyDeleteI'll be ok only with no cliffhanger in S5, you?
ReplyDeleteIt tied everything up
ReplyDeleteMe too, but I really hope there'll be a season 6 too! :)
ReplyDeleteouat was good but now the show is awful the writers only worried about make a shipper show
ReplyDeleteExactly.OUAT was never on the edge and I think wheater there will be a season 6 or not will become clear soon enough to write a proper ending.
ReplyDeleteThe writers didn't make it a shipper show, the fans did.
ReplyDeleteUGH OUAT please get atleast a 1.8 then adjust up to a 1.9
ReplyDeleteNot really sure ABC wants AoS to be okay, especially those numbers aren't okay.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if they'll go for that move, but we won't wait to long to find out.
2 kind-of cliffhangers. Though they felt more like letting us know the characters future instead of "There should be a season 5!".
ReplyDeleteatleast OUAT will probably win night
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing it has to do with POI, CM (contracts), MS/TGW (scheduling - probably shared timeslot?) and how to wrap CSI. It seems like CBS got the cancellations out of the way on Friday and is working to piece what's left together. Sadly, I think that means we're stuck with TOC.
ReplyDeletelet's hope A&E can please us.
ReplyDeletegood. I can watch it now yay thanks.
ReplyDeleteok ok sorry. I will quit saying it. But please allow me to be worried next year. I will try to be optimist thou. Can I still comment on your stuff? Please!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's highly unlikely that OUAT will ever fall this low
ReplyDeleteNot a real cliffhanger
ReplyDeleteThe same as Desperate Housewives
This looks bad for OUAT in the fall with the finale looking like it hit a 1.8-1.9. Revenge went out on good terms I guess.
ReplyDeleteCalm down, my point is there is no need to be worried. For all we know OUAT finds another way to sway in back viewers. I think it's better for you to wait and see instead of just being nervous about what will happen next. Since we are not from the US we can't give OUAT rating, and thus our impact lies solely on the support we can give it, and screaming it'll do badly next season isn't what OUAT needs right now. It needs for people to root for it and and to believe it will do better, otherwise people may bail thinking it'll be cancelled. So take a deep breath, and remember: the show is still among the top rated shows on ABC
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that Revenge got OUAT as a lead in for its series finale. Heres to hoping it will at least get a 1.3.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about Once Upon A Time guys, no matter its ratings we will have a sixth season AT LEAST. Besides, Paul Lee loves the show. I will never cancel it without giving it a second chance.
ReplyDeleteOUAT steady at 1.7. I was hoping for a 1.8, but let's wait for final ratings.
ReplyDeleteRevenge had its biggest 18-34 of the season, that's my takeaway.
ReplyDelete1.3 not too shabby, but I wish it went on a higher note
What a sad looking Sunday, especially when you take OUAT out.
ReplyDeleteOUAT, King of Sunday.
ReplyDeleteNot great for OUaT
ReplyDeleteyes ok. Friend. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteRevenge skewed really young with a 1.1 in 18-34. 1.3 is ok. Wasn't expecting any higher.
ReplyDeleteOUAT halves: 1.8/1.7/1.7/1.7
ReplyDeleteRevenge: 1.3/1.3
Hoped for Once and Revenge to raise a bit more but okay.
ReplyDeleteThink fall will be better for Once again. Especially if they work a bit on their casting. #JoeLandoAsMerlyn
Wow Sunday is desperate if people watch OUAT.
ReplyDeleteGlad the halves for Revenge were steady.
ReplyDeleteThe Good Wife ended on a more upbeat note after going fractional
ReplyDeleteBut still the winner,
ReplyDeleteAt least Revenge got exactly the ratings it started this season with
ReplyDeleteI was hoping and expecting higher for OUAT and Revenge. The Good Wife got a nice 0.3 jump for the finale at least after all the horrible spring massacre. FOX did awful. What is up with those 1.2s across the board? And NBC is a joke.
ReplyDeleteWinners: No one
Honorable Mention: No One
Losers: A.D., American Odyssey, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Battle Creek
OUAT #1
ReplyDeleteRevenge #2
ABC rules
I expected a bit more forma Revenge's finales, bit I guess a 1.3 is ok.
ReplyDeleteYep, and it's only one tenth away from its finale last year. While not the 1.5 I expected, it was still pretty good, among the highest rated episodes this season, and that's a good way to go
ReplyDeleteAnd now with AD's 0.9, NBC reaches a new record: all of its freshman shows this season went fractional.
ReplyDeleteCome on, OUAT deserves an Honorable Mention for being very steady and winning the night.
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteYikes at FOX, this is not good, decent for Revenge and good for OUAT
ReplyDeleteTGW showed Madam Secretary is a bomb, i think it could do very good in a good timeslot.
AD gone fractional, lol NBC.
I believe if OUAT had got like a 2.0 then Revenge would've gotten a 1.4 to 1.5
ReplyDeleteMaybe, ok. I just thought it could have gotten a bump for the finale.
ReplyDeleteHalf hour break downs please... I want to see how OUAT fared over the two hours.
ReplyDeleteI expected higher from Revenge. The Good Wife did actually good.
ReplyDelete1.8/1.7/1.7/1.7
ReplyDeleteouat 1.8/1.7 and 1.7/1.7
ReplyDeleteWhen will we hear CBS renewals? Today or tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteTGW 1.3/1.2
ReplyDeleteRevenge 1.3/1.3
Battle Creek 0.9/0.8
American Odyssey 0.5/0.5
AD 0.9/0.9
At the very latest Wednesday when they have their Upfronts.
ReplyDeleteNo idea but there could be some tough negotiations with studios or cast members.
ReplyDeleteWhoa? A.D. slips under 1.0 demo. I don't think it should return.
ReplyDeleteIt's tough for OUAT wheb U renenber it started the season with 3,1 but still topping the night during finales for 2 hours is just great for the show
ReplyDeleteBobs Burgers did great, held 100% of its lead-in. Nice nice.
ReplyDeleteKudos to Revenge for rising for its series finale and staying steady throughout the half hour. It demo was equal to the combine ratings of Battle Creek and American Odyssey.
ReplyDeleteSo TGW spikes up from 0.9 to 1.3 without MS lead-in. No real surprise there. CBS you messed up Sunday nights with MS. Face it.
ReplyDeleteIt started strong just because of Frozen Arc.
ReplyDeleteHave to agree, but it looks like all new NBC shows no matter if its quality or not, gets rejected or loses viewers fast. Even Blacklist , The Voice and Grimm dropped a lot.
ReplyDeleteMS is such a bomb
ReplyDeleteSorry for being off-topic but..."inconsistent". Your comment kind of reminds me of Damon Lindelof's tweet, "The weather in L.A. this week has been as consistent as the third season of LOST."
ReplyDeleteI love his writing, I can't wait for The Leftovers' return, and I wish Lindelof created another account, since I love the missing tweets that I could read in the last months (some sites shared them).
Actually MS helped TGW in the beginning of the season. Since both shows retunred in March, they have fallen apart without football. MS is not to blame for TGW's bad ratings.
ReplyDeleteKudos to TGW, it retained 100 percent of its lead in, it shows how much Madam Secretary was killing it
ReplyDeleteTGW's bad ratings have, from what I read, much more to do with the creative direction of season 6 which hasn't been well-received. As I wrote below, MS is not to blame for them.
ReplyDeleteI would say The Family at 9pm and Nashville at 10pm.
ReplyDeletePossibly. Or The Family goes to Wednesday 10 pm.
ReplyDeleteThanks, but what are the millions of viewers for the half hours?
ReplyDeleteHeroes Reborn trailer at the upfronts right now! Twitter is saying that the trailer strongly implies that the cheerleader is dead.
ReplyDeleteBut TGW improved over MS by 2 tenths with low 60 Minutes and MS was its lead in before and it got 0.9
ReplyDeleteIt really wasn't. Look at the ratings for MS and TGW before both shows went on a break. They were both doing well before the 2month break.
ReplyDeleteOMG OMG !!
ReplyDeleteNeed this see this ASAP !
TGW already in its 6th season... leadin doesn't mean that much to it.
ReplyDeleteYou mean Claire from original Heroes?
ReplyDeleteYeah, imo. But still quite the decline.
ReplyDeleteIt will be posted as soon as NBC release it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad Revenge didn't get much more viewers and demo but still better than what it got for the past few months
ReplyDeleteAnd please use the Open Discussion thread for off-topic discussions in future.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.spoilertv.com/2015/01/the-spoilertv-community-open-discussion.html
Thank you
Sorry, too many tabs open today with all the madness going on with the schedules!
ReplyDeleteI was hoping that Revenge would break the 5 million viewer mark. But at least its demo increased.
ReplyDeleteNo worries. I have 23 tabs currently open lol
ReplyDeleteIt was the final episode for Kalinda so folks tuned into TGW to say goodbye to Archie Panjabi. Also it was the season finale which is usually a higher rating.
ReplyDeleteOh ok, thanks!
ReplyDeleteWish Revenge would've ended higher but finale was underwhelming... Currently watching Once finale and so far I think Revenge should've gotten the 2 hour finale... Last years Once finale was better
ReplyDeleteOh right, everyone from CM but MGG needs to renew their contract, yeah, I'd forgotten about that. That's probably what's delaying the announcement of its renewal, or cancellation. I have a question about something I don't understand very well. It's the studio that pays the actors, right? Or does the network where it airs have a say in hiring/firing actors?
ReplyDeletei exept more for ouat but i hope next season ouat will come strong
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter what ratings revenge got pretty pointless seen as been cancelled .
ReplyDelete1.7 it did it in danger zone it be gone by end next season
ReplyDeleteNope
ReplyDeleterevenge ratings seem pointless don't know why they post them.
ReplyDeleteTGW rose because it was the season finale not because of a better lead in.
ReplyDeleteThe whole season was a rating disaster but they will still get a 7th (I think last) season to wrap things up
Revenge got no where near 3.5 if did they would renewed it only reason it ending I still dont know how in god name she has Victoria heart.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Revenge went out with a respectable number, all things considered. It was a good, satisfying finale. Despite all the bad episodes, storylines and characters, despite the fact that I think it absolutely should've ended (now if not a year ago), I'll always remember the show fondly.
ReplyDeleteWy she sept with Ben we will never know.
ReplyDeleteI have faith it will be in the 2's for the fall if they promote it a lot like they do every season.
ReplyDeleteI will be amused if people bothered to tune in to the series finale of a show only to abandon it and sleep during the final half-hour.
ReplyDelete
