Loved how it ended. Emily giving Nolan the job of the revenger is an amazing way to close everything! Seriously, though cheesy at times, it was truly wonderful
Nayar didn't lie when he said the finale would bring closure; I like the little cliffhangers planted there; the heart thing and Nolan in his own quest, as a whole it opened the door for more stories while also providing closure.
They even made David dying look like a happy ending! lol. I'm glad it was a happy ending. I feel so happy cause if it had been a sad ending I wouldn't have felt as much closure as I felt. And I actually liked the cliffhangers cause it's like letting us know how their lives keep going after this.
Great series finale, although I would have preferred something darker. I never really thought that Emily would have had an happy ending. Still pretty satisfying!
I liked it. It wrapped everything up very nicely. I loved that Emily and David got married and Nolan found his new purpose in life.
While I think it was time for the show to end, I'll miss it. I've watched it from the very beginning and looked forward to Sunday nights. Goodbye Revenge.
Yeap. It was weird, but I'm glad we knew about the cancellation and that there was going to be a cliffhanger cause I was ready for it, and didn't feel as if the show needed to keep going.
I'm so happy! Sunil was very sincere when he said that the series finally would be very satisfactory for the fans in terms of a happy ending..and yes for all this!!
Emily/Amanda got the happy ending with Jack, and Nolan will continue the revenge legacy! Probably with more red sharpies <3
At first, I thought the final scene with Nolan was purely a cliffhanger for another season, but it works even if the viewers don't see how it would have developed in a S5, because he's found his next venture, and perhaps his purpose.
A sad ending would have made for a more nerve-wracking finale, but I'm way more pleased with a happy ending cause I felt 100% closure, even with the cliffhangers cause they were more like "so, this is what's gonna be of their lives after this" instead of a "I NEED S5!!"
A little rushed, but I am glad Nolan, Emily and Jack got their happy ending. And yay to David. They could always build a show around Nolan's revenge business.
I loved it. It was bitter sweet and the ending was very enjoyable. Im actually glad we got a series finale and a good ending. Margaux in jail. Victoria dead Jack and Amanda married, Charlotte being clean and free, Nolan helping someone else get revenge and David dying also. Louise just doing whatever. As much as I wanted a season 5 Revenge was short and sweet and it wasn't dragged out for way too long bye Revengers I'll miss you.
I was actually really pleased with this series finale, it was everything that I wanted. I'm so glad that it managed to provide me with a sense of closure. I'm really going to miss this show but on the other hand at least i could rematch the finale as many times as i want.
I would have liked to see Patrick around, and to have some other characters too, but what can you do? At least ABC gave Revenge one extra episode (though a hybrid clip one) and it made this storyline flow and work
Yep, I still felt that there some story lines in the finale that were rushed, and kinda wish that they used that extra hour that they got to add it to the finale so that it could've been 2 hours. But all in all i was still satisfied with the finale.
I LOVED the series Finale...Got pretty pissed that they got cancelled but after watching that ending I gotta say I'm REALLY HAPPY!! I couldnt see it having a S5 after that ending.....Thank god for Jack and Emily getting married and Sammy 2.0!!
yeah, i think it should've beens two hours too..but to be quite honest, there's nothing on this finale that i would change..now i'm very okay with not having a S5
Going into it I was hesitant but it could not have ended better. The puppy was schmaltzy but it worked. Glad Charlotte & Emily found their way to each other even if the heart thing was creepy but also thinking it was a dream/nightmare(let me have my illusion) lol. Victoria needed to go and she did. And Nolan got his purpose which was the icing on the cake.
Like "Secrets and Lies" & "American Crime" getting second seasons with a new crime I'd like Revenge to go the same route and give Nolan a spin-off with that guy at the end who needed help with his mother.
I am so happy with the way it ended. I had mentioned before that I wanted Emily to die but after watching her get her happy ending I like it this way much more. Victoria put up a great fight but in the end was no match for Emily. The cliffhanger also didn't bother me because it wasn't really a cliffhanger. It just shows that the cycle of Revenge always goes on. This show will go down as one of my favorite shows that I have ever watched. I will miss you Revenge.
I'm going to bed now, I have watched 3 hours of television straight, so my head is a bit ovewherlmed, but I have to say this: I will deeply miss this show.
While not perfect, Revenge always gave me intense pleasure; this season was messy and weak at times, but also intense and full of joy at others, and the ending, while a bit cheesy by the end, provided closure and left me smiling just because I like Emily as a character and I love to see her happy. And Nolan on a new quest of Revenge is awesome (I demand that spin off!).
I wish Kingmakers made it to air, it would have been awesome and it could have become a spin off, but oh well, what can you do?
I've been following the show since its first season and I'm really glad I went through this journey, and I'm glad I got to discuss it with you guys every Monday morning (and now exceptionally this Sunday night). May Revenge be remembered fondly :)
Just the writers having a little fun during the last few minutes. Yes, it was a nightmare and no, Amanda doesn't have Victoria's heart but it is a funny notion.
It was a great satisfying end happy Emily/Amanda got her happy ending with Jack love that she gave Nolan a new mission of revenge I would so love to watch a show with Nolan righting wrongs
Favorite Season Premiere: Renaissance (issues with this season aside, the premiere was really fun!) Favorite Season Finale: Execution (it will be forever the best, as satisfying as the series finale was). Favorite Character: Emily (Nolan almost there) Favorite Episode: Execution. Favorite Season: Season 3 Least Favorite Season: Season 4 Least Favorite episode: 4x14 Kindred.
Least Favorite Character: Margaux (with Ben and Charlotte right up there). Character I missed the most this season: Conrad (and Daniel once he died)
Well I'm going to miss this show and I gotta say Amanda Clark and Victoria Grayson are up there withsolid snake and liquid snake,L and Kira in my personal favorite rivalries.
The series finale was phenomenal. I wish it was given two hour instead of the OUAT, which had a weak season finale. I'm glad Louise stepped up and realized who really cared for her. I love that David's love was able to spare Amanda's life. Everyone felt she deserved some happiness, so while one of the graves was for her, she was given a second chance. This was one of the best series finale I've seen in a long while. It also gave you some insight into what Nolan will be doing. There could have been a 5th season, showing his missions to give victims justice. Kudos to the brilliant acting of Madaleine Stowe.
So, how do you think Revenge will rate tomorrow? I think a 1.5 is the most likely scenario, though I would obviously would love for it to go on even a higher note
Favorite Season Premiere: Pilot (Season 1) Favorite Season Finale: Execution (Season 3) Favorite Character: Victoria Favorite Season: Season 1 Least Favorite Season: Season 3 Least Favorite Episode: There are none Least Favorite Character: Ashley Davenport Character I missed the most this season: Daniel
Best 'Revenge' of the night was Charlotte having the doctors transplant Victoria's heart into Amanda's body. Way to follow in your mother's footsteps young lady.
It should have been 2 hours over the mess OUAT aired. I may officially be done with that show. I don't care about Merlin. I was hoping to see Margaux's brother somehow released and for him to take care of her. Maybe they should have shown Margaux in handcuffs. But of course we have to assume she is paying for her crime. I think it was a series finale that pleased everyone, any casual viewers. People didn't want David to return anyway so I don't think they have that much grief over his outcome.
My favorite season premiere had to be Renaissance.
My favorite season finale was definitely Execution, but Reckoning came close to a second.
Favorite character(s) because I can’t choose...Ems, Aiden, and Nolan. They were the d r e a m team.
Favorite episode: Either Absolution or Disclosure. Tbh, anything written by Joe or Ted was a favorite for me.
Favorite season: This is gonna be a shocker, but season two, man. Although the plot wasn’t crazy intense and explosive as season one, the character development was on point. And Aimily...I am such a sucker for them.
Least favorite season: Three. It just felt weird tbh.
Least favorite episode: Disgrace. Emily getting humiliated in public, although it was her plan...nope lol.
Least favorite character: Margaux or Victoria. Their logic irritated me so m u c h.
Character I missed the most: Conrad. He was such an enthralling presence.
I hope another Revenge-like show is written, or the cast and crew find more dark and twisted ventures. I need this.
ABC acted like they couldn't just give Revenge an extra episode since they probably knew since January it wasn't coming back. I think OUAT should have stayed with 22. And Revenge finale season could have been 24. It wouldn't have hurt to have it leave with 90 episodes total.
The hour flew by. I remember looking up at the clock and seeing the show only had an half an hour left with so much story left. OUAT's two hours dragged miserably. It's episode was downright silly. Revenge should have been given an additional episode. I think ABC knew in January they wanted to cancel it.
There was absolutely no way that Sunil was going to wrap up Revenge and satisfy everyone this quickly. IMO, ABC should have announced season 4 as the final season than waiting till the freaking last minute to say it was but whatever. I personally thought the finale was perfect and one of the most satisfying ones I have ever seen on television.
While it seems like some people didn't like it, I always thought Revenge was going to give Emily a happy ending ever since the beginning of the show so I wasn't surprised that it actually happened. Of course now she's left with the pain that she has suffered throughout the years. "For some reason karma saw fit to spare me, but not without leaving deeply etched wounds"
The two graves being Victoria and David was surprising. While it was obvious one of the graves would be Victoria, I never suspected David since I thought it would be Jack. Thank god Jack survived and got to marry the love of his life in the end. That wedding scene between him and Emily was so damn satisfying because we have been waiting since the beginning for this moment to finally arrive.
I loved that final scene so much!! Emily allowing Nolan to continue the journey of revenge without her was awesome and everything I wanted.
Well Revenge, throughout your very noticeable highs and lows throughout your run, I gotta say I'm glad I got to experience Emily Thorne's journey. Goodbye, Amanda Clarke! You'll forever be one of my favorite characters on television and will always have a special place in my heart.
But there were so many on the message boards saying that Revenge should have ended after the season 3 finale. But then we wouldn't have gotten these satisfying closures. Emily/Amanda got to live in total freedom being her true self. And Victoria had to pay with her life for what she did to Aiden, not just be locked in a mental institution. Bravo to Revenge for having a 4th season and restoring Amanda, keeping her time to spend with her dad and really mourn his lost.
Favorite Season Premiere: Renaissance (Season 4 Premier) Favorite Season Finale: Reckoning (Season 1 Finale) Favorite Character: Emily Thorne!!! Favorite Episode: Reckoning, Execution and Two Graves. Favorite Season: Season 1, then S3, then S4 and then S2. Least Favorite Season: Season 2, as I listed above. Least Favorite Episode: Something in S2. Probably the Thanksgiving FB ep (2x08 I think). Least Favorite Character: Margaux and Ben, though I liked them at least at one point. Character I missed the most this season: Conrad x100!!!
Exactly, if something would have happened to Amanda, Nolan would have felt he did all of this for nothing, just to lose his "sister". And then it would just be right to revenge her death. A season 5 would have been needed.
What if the writers actually decided to have Victoria suicide herself, then she wouldn't have been in the series finale anyways. Victoria went for the kill but Amanda's life was spared by none other than Victoria.
Great post. And you are correct in saying Emily Thorne/Amanda Clarke will be forever one of the great characters on television. I've never seen a story written so beautifully. One got to really know her as a child and witness her struggles and root for her growth. We all went on the journey of Revenge with her. And I'm glad she didn't lose her soul in the process. It was absolutely brilliant. And I have to give kudos to Madaleine Stowe as Victoria Grayson. She will always be one of the all great villainess.
I'm torn. One one hand,I'm liked Emily /Jack getting a happy ending but on the other hand,I feel Emily shoukdve been one of the two graves.Creepy nightmare about Amanda getting Victorias heart. The mini cliffhanger/contention with Nolan at the end..seriously, didn't he learn anything from helping Amanda these Last few years not to go on a path of Revrnge or help others do it & endanger himself?
Nolan at times ENJOYED it. Take a look back at some of the episodes. He enjoyed hacking peoples computers/ bank accounts/lives. In the end he was as 'addicted' to it as Amanda just to a different side of the revenging. It makes sense he would want another Revengagenda to engage in as all of his personal life bar that basically goes down the drain.
Was Madeline Stowe coming to the point in her career where she realised that tv was now a better medium for telling stories than movies. Its really been a big issue with all the actors from the 80's. A lot of them avoided tv because of a 'stigma' attached to it, and now in this decade there seems to be a role reversal. TV is the cuttting edge of creativity and movies are now somewhat stale and tired
I loved it. Gla d she didnt die and that nightmare that was not a nightmare was great. Karma is a bitch? Nolan definetly would've found his way to Kingmakers, he loves what he does and it would've been a perfect add to that show. Sadly stuopid ABC didnt pck it up.
I like Emily and Jack together, they were fantastic in season 1, so I'm happy with it. I just found strident and so not Emily the prosaic wedding style ( with all those people) and Jack's speech; he can be a little "suburban" sometimes (don't get me wrong I live in the suburbs) but I love the intensity of the actor. Anyway I was like Meh! Other than that...It was a twist well done and Emily not dying was justified by the "infinite love" for a daughter. Only that could have saved her from the grave. And it did.
Amanda had a nightmare that she got the heart. They never really went out and said that it actually happened so I suppose that this is what they meant with the bit of a cliffhanger because fans will never really know for sure if Vicky's bitch of a daughter was cruel enough to consent to giving her mother's heart to Amanda. Somehow I doubt it though.
ABC did give Revenge an extra episode - 23. The ratings were far too low for a two-hour finale. (Compared to what a two-hour OUAT finale would do.) I'm just glad they wrapped it up appropriately.
Thank you writters for letting me live at peace this week. I'm just curious about that Victoria's hearth. I mean - it looked like it was a bad dream, but wasn't Charlotte supposed to deliver some information in this episode? Well, it's been beautiful 4 years with Revenge. Goodbye.
It was pretty predictable, like David killing Victoria and kind of cheesy but still enjoyable. And I couldn't help but aww at Amanda's present to jack at their wedding.
I mean really it seemed obvious from the start of S4 that this was going to be the end, if they had continued the show it would have been dishonest to the happy ending they gave Amanda. You know she would have ended up back in trouble if they had done a S5.
If they were really staying true to the series then yes she would have died but this is Broadcast TV in the end and I just didn't think they would go that dark.
It worked for me. I enjoyed it. But I was a little confused by the nightmare conversation. Love the idea of Nolan getting a spin off where he uses his hacking skills to save the innocent. Happily I didn't end the series yelling at the screen it was the right ending...I was worried for a moment that they'd actually killed Amanda. Primarily because of all of the black in the scene where David dies. The dark tint to the lighting had me wondering if were were looking at one of those dream sequences that's supposed to be as a character died. But they didn't and I was left feeling like the story got a good and proper ending.
I haven't seen it yet. I'm about 5 episodes behind at the moment. Can somebody possibly tell me if everything wraps up nicely? Does the show have a proper ending? No spoilers (pretty please). I just want a yes or no response haha
Ok so while that was not the strongest episode of Revenge it definitely was a fitting end to a great story! I am gonna miss this show! Sure the pass season was not as good but when this show was at its best, it was campy, sudsy, and over the top to the point where you could not look away. That season 1 will forever be one of the best premiere seasons of broadcast TV show. Emily and Nolan and their friendship along with the Red Sharpie and Florence and the Machine playing in the background will forever be in my heart! I will miss you Emily Thorne! REVENGE!!!!
Favorite Season Premiere = Season 3 (emily getting Nolan from prison and buying him a house will be one of my fave scenes ever, don't know why) favorite finale - season 2 fave character - tied for emily and nolan season 3 > season 2 > season 1 > season 4 agreed on 4 X 14 kindred as least favorite episode least Favorite character - margaux character missed the most - Aiden, maybe Daniel
others to add: fave ship - emily and nolan 100% (I'm actually sad that they won't be living in the same city anymore) favorite romantic ship - emily and Aiden, I still see them together more than em and jack -I still can't believe jack can fully forgive emily for all that happened.
I was scared that Emily would die and somehow I was picturing it as a good series finale. But the fact that she was saved by her father, I think it's beautiful, still kind of cheesy but meaningful. Victoria's death was necessary, she couldn't survive after all she had done. Margaux redeemed herself and I'm glad she did. Louise finally got back to her senses and saw how much Victoria manipulated her the whole time. David is dead and even though that scene was not THAT heartbreaking, I almost felt a tear coming but the true moment when I cried was Amanda's wedding and I really missed her voiceover. It was complete closure for me and the cliffhanger at the end of the episode was à la Desperate Housewives, as most predicted. I'm so glad that I was a part of this journey and I can't wait to buy season 3 & 4 in DVDs so I can rewatch the show and enjoy every moment of it (even the end of season 2). Season 4 as a whole was less good than season 3 for me because at the beginning, the writers didn't know what to do and that Malcolm Black thing was irrelevant but the second part of the season got better and this series finale will always be one of my favorite :) Long live Revenge!
Amanda would know if she got another heart because you have to eat special medicine so the body won't reject the foreign heart. Well, there was one case in real life when a girl/woman got new organs and her body adapted so she won't be needing to eat medicine, but she's unique as far as I know.
Here's my earlier comment again: Amanda would know if she got another heart because you have to eat special medicine so the body won't reject the foreign heart. Too rare! :-( I don't feel like I have a very happy life (though it could always be worse) so I at least want a happy ending for characters that I care about.
Here's my comment for the fourth time: Amanda would know if she got another heart because you have to eat special medicine so the body won't reject the foreign heart. Favorite Season Premiere: Pilot (followed by Fear) Favorite Season Finale: Execution
Favorite Character: Emily, by a mile and a mile and a mile, not even close Favorite Episode: Execution Favorite Season: Season as a whole, Season 1. Major props to 3A though Least Favorite Season: Season 2, although it wasn't as bad as some made it out to be Least Favorite Episode: 2x08 Lineage and 4x14 Kindred are the ones that come to mind Least Favorite Character: Declan Porter. I ended up liking Margaux' arc Character I missed the most: Aiden and later Daniel
There were some shocking surprises (Amanda being Victoria's daughter for example), I'm glad that Jack and Amanda got married. Sad to see the serie end but glad to see Emily come back in Captain America 3 and hoping for the others to be on new projects soon.
Underwhelming would be an understatement! Really hoped for much more. The start was slow, the middle was okay, the end was too happy ending. White Gold was a nice touch to the show, Nolan got a nice ending and Margaux overacted terribly.
Overall I expected more, but I'm glad we got this nice ending and not a story left wide open.
I liked the finale but It still would have been better if Jack and Emily just stayed friends because it felt rushed and of course they do it in the finale. I still though Aidan and Emily were true soulmates but he died and Victoria took his life and killed others as well. But it was a great finale
Or Amanda knew all along she got a new heart to save her life after the shooing so she took the pills willingly and without question and Amanda just thought it was a anonymous available heart that it's host had died that day and had a filled out donor card in their wallet ... per Charlotte's request
Amanda probably did get another heart... They don't really say how much time elapsed from the shooting to the ending... What she doesn't know is that it was possibly Victoria's
That scene when Emily and Victoria were on the ground and they were in black and white. Then the thing of Vic's heart... creepy as the sex scene, sex close to the ex's death... but thank you it gave a closure. I will miss the show :((
Really good ! Emily & Victoria final scene wasn't as epic as it could have been but everything ended up the way I wanted to so I'm happy. Emily finally got her happy ending. The cliffhanger was like Desperate Housewives cliffhanger, I'm so relieved, I was scared the boat was going to blow up.
I'm sorry, when did the ep say Amanda was Victoria's daughter? You're joking right? The only thing close to that, was that Victoria was raped by her own father.
Well Charlotte gave Victoria's heart to save Amanda and the doctor said that "they were a match" and that Amanda can never know who belong her new heart so.
But Emily knows she has another heart; remember when she was going to put her wedding dress on she was staring at a mirror and we saw the mark of the operation. The thing she might not know is that it was Victoria's heart.
I loved it. My favourite characters got a happy ending and Victoria died. Margaux redeemed herself and Lousie finally chose the right side. Some people say it was cheezy, but id take that over a depressing series finale where everyone dies, any day.
That was a nightmare. It wasnt real. Besides, just because a heart is a match doesn't mean they are mother and daughter, most donors get organs from complete strangers.
But "a match" in terms of donors and transplants could be also a total stranger. Doctors check blood types and antigenes and other stuff. Also a relative can't in some cases be a donor when they aren't "a match". It doesn't prove they were in fact relatives.
I feel it fitted well that David died, because it was really him and Victoria who started it all. Conrad started the war, after he found out that Victoria was unfaithful.
Victoria's heart inside Emily was a "grotesque" move. An unnatural, paradoxical situation on a distorted level of reality. One you often find in literature.
I liked it but maybe I was expecting something more epic? That final showdown with Em and Victoria was kind of a letdown. But I'm soo glad she got her happy ending. I was afraid they would kill her.
That said, I'm going to miss the show very much. And I hope to see Emily VanCamp in another show soon because that woman is amazing.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
AWFUL, VICTORIA DEAD AND EMILY HAPPY FOREVER? THAT'S BULLSHIT, OMFG
ReplyDeleteLol @ the heart thing. Saw it coming.
ReplyDeleteNot cool that Kara Clarke didn't show up. And nice cliffhanger!
Loved how it ended.
ReplyDeleteEmily giving Nolan the job of the revenger is an amazing way to close everything!
Seriously, though cheesy at times, it was truly wonderful
Ended perfectly but most of all it finally ended without dragging it out any longer!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a series finale. How else should it have ended??
ReplyDeleteNayar didn't lie when he said the finale would bring closure; I like the little cliffhangers planted there; the heart thing and Nolan in his own quest, as a whole it opened the door for more stories while also providing closure.
ReplyDeleteBravo writers! The finale left me smiling :)
Beautiful ending. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteAmanda has Victoria heart sick
ReplyDeleteIt should have been 2 hrs but great ending
ReplyDeleteThere was no need for S5
brilliant episode Shame David had to die
ReplyDeleteWhy did David have to die
ReplyDeletetwo graves, Victoria and Emily dead. She wasn't inocent at all.
ReplyDeleteYes it was very good
ReplyDeleteAnd now that it's over it just suddenly hits me how much I'm going to miss it
ReplyDeleteThey even made David dying look like a happy ending! lol. I'm glad it was a happy ending. I feel so happy cause if it had been a sad ending I wouldn't have felt as much closure as I felt. And I actually liked the cliffhangers cause it's like letting us know how their lives keep going after this.
ReplyDeleteSammy 2.0 Nolan has new revenge
ReplyDeleteLoved the way they paralleled The Count’s ending but freaking damn it, I’m not ready to let go! (!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteEmily has Victoria heart that was shocking
ReplyDeleteI hated it, seriously, they could've done it MUCH better.
ReplyDeleteAnd it made Charlotte even more creepy
ReplyDeleteGreat series finale, although I would have preferred something darker. I never really thought that Emily would have had an happy ending. Still pretty satisfying!
ReplyDeleteI liked it. It wrapped everything up very nicely. I loved that Emily and David got married and Nolan found his new purpose in life.
ReplyDeleteWhile I think it was time for the show to end, I'll miss it. I've watched it from the very beginning and looked forward to Sunday nights. Goodbye Revenge.
Is it true i wonder Sunil Nayer should confirm it tomorrow
ReplyDeleteYeap. It was weird, but I'm glad we knew about the cancellation and that there was going to be a cliffhanger cause I was ready for it, and didn't feel as if the show needed to keep going.
ReplyDeleteThe cliffhanger was Nolan getting new revenger
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy! Sunil was very sincere when he said that the series finally would be very
ReplyDeletesatisfactory for the fans in terms of a happy ending..and yes for all this!!
Emily/Amanda got the happy ending with Jack, and Nolan will continue the revenge legacy! Probably with more red sharpies <3
Two graves - Victoria and David
At first, I thought the final scene with Nolan was purely a cliffhanger for another season, but it works even if the viewers don't see how it would have developed in a S5, because he's found his next venture, and perhaps his purpose.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great finale, albeit with some cheesy elements. It was, however, satisfying and managed to tie everything together, pretty ribbon and all.
ReplyDeleteAt least Amanda and Jack had sex after 4 years nothing.
ReplyDeleteLouise and Margaux became good person just to "destroy" Victoria? Seriously?
ReplyDeleteWhat else could've they have done? they did the best they could in one hour
ReplyDeleteAmanda getting Victoria heart so wrong.
ReplyDeleteA sad ending would have made for a more nerve-wracking finale, but I'm way more pleased with a happy ending cause I felt 100% closure, even with the cliffhangers cause they were more like "so, this is what's gonna be of their lives after this" instead of a "I NEED S5!!"
ReplyDeleteit's revenge they really could have done it much better, like Victoria AND Emily dead. I don't know, but I didn't like...
ReplyDeleteThat was alternative ending on dvd release
ReplyDeleteI haven’t had this many feels since I watched the Alias finale aGh.
ReplyDeleteAmanda and Jack finally made love should had her become pregnant.
ReplyDeleteSource?
ReplyDeleteA little rushed, but I am glad Nolan, Emily and Jack got their happy ending. And yay to David. They could always build a show around Nolan's revenge business.
ReplyDeleteJoke
ReplyDeleteRemember Daniel sterilized Emily though..
ReplyDeleteAmanda can't get pregnant, after Daniel shot her she became unable to
ReplyDeleteI loved it.
ReplyDeleteI was actually really pleased with this series finale, it was everything that I wanted. I'm so glad that it managed to provide me with a sense of closure. I'm really going to miss this show but on the other hand at least i could rematch the finale as many times as i want.
ReplyDeleteVictoria could have lied
ReplyDeleteShe is technically Carls step mom
ReplyDeleteI really love Victoria, she did what she did just to protect her son (Daniel) :(
ReplyDeleteVictoria lied i say she got pregnant way she rubbed her stomach in end.
ReplyDeleteI still feel there were more points that needed to tie up I wish it was 2 hrs
ReplyDeleteMargaux didn't help in destroying Victoria. Louise was always jumping ships so when someone died, she went to the other (better?) side.
ReplyDeleteI guarantee you Victoria lied
ReplyDeleteDon't u think it should have been 2 hrs?
ReplyDeleteCould have done a season 5 maybe just be Jack and Amanda consulate having sex.
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to see Patrick around, and to have some other characters too, but what can you do? At least ABC gave Revenge one extra episode (though a hybrid clip one) and it made this storyline flow and work
ReplyDeleteThat's what I feel also it would of been a lot more deeper if it was 2 hours
ReplyDeleteSame for Kara Clarke to me.
ReplyDeletePatrick stayed away the Hampton's full awful people in show sure not in real life.
ReplyDeleteLike what? I felt such a closure! I'm really happy!
ReplyDeleteEven though the episode wasn't as exciting as last year's, it actually felt like a final episode.
Kara commit sucide i say
ReplyDeleteYep, I still felt that there some story lines in the finale that were rushed, and kinda wish that they used that extra hour that they got to add it to the finale so that it could've been 2 hours. But all in all i was still satisfied with the finale.
ReplyDeleteIt just felt rush I think 2 hrs would be better
ReplyDeleteBut i love the sense of closuer
Amanda was having a recurring nightmare about having Victoria's heart. Just the writers having a little more fun.
ReplyDeleteI am happy cuz I wouldn't want to see a S5 without Victoria
ReplyDeletesick mind glad cancelled seem be struggling.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED the series Finale...Got pretty pissed that they got cancelled but after watching that ending I gotta say I'm REALLY HAPPY!! I couldnt see it having a S5 after that ending.....Thank god for Jack and Emily getting married and Sammy 2.0!!
ReplyDeleteyeah, i think it should've beens two hours too..but to be quite honest, there's nothing on this finale that i would change..now i'm very okay with not having a S5
ReplyDeleteI wanted something more "darker"
ReplyDeleteGoing into it I was hesitant but it could not have ended better.
ReplyDelete64 comments in 16 minutes? wow!
ReplyDeleteLike "Secrets and Lies" & "American Crime" getting second seasons with a new crime I'd like Revenge to go the same route and give Nolan a spin-off with that guy at the end who needed help with his mother.
ReplyDelete71 comments
ReplyDeleteJust noticed David killed both Victoria and Conrad (still suspect of this one lol). Well played I say!
ReplyDelete"two graves = Victoria and David" HAHAHAHA, NO
ReplyDeleteI am so happy with the way it ended.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to bed now, I have watched 3 hours of television straight, so my head is a bit ovewherlmed, but I have to say this: I will deeply miss this show.
ReplyDeleteWhile not perfect, Revenge always gave me intense pleasure; this season was messy and weak at times, but also intense and full of joy at others, and the ending, while a bit cheesy by the end, provided closure and left me smiling just because I like Emily as a character and I love to see her happy.
I just assumed the heart thing was a nightmare, nothing more. Anyone else?
ReplyDeleteLots of people came back and watched live. This is the series finale, we wouldn't wait until Monday!
ReplyDeleteher happy ending should've been with Aiden, sorry but i'm a shameless Aiden and Emily shipper
ReplyDeleteAiden was a perfect match for Emily IMO, but since he is dead I'll take this
ReplyDeleteJust the writers having a little fun during the last few minutes. Yes, it was a nightmare and no, Amanda doesn't have Victoria's heart but it is a funny notion.
ReplyDeleteI keep wondering if it was just a nightmare?... because if it's true thats disgusting
ReplyDeleteIt was a great satisfying end happy Emily/Amanda got her happy ending with Jack love that she gave Nolan a new mission of revenge I would so love to watch a show with Nolan righting wrongs
ReplyDeleteYou don't think her living with Victoria's heart is enough of a dark element?
ReplyDeleteI like that.. Louise doing 'whatever'. What the hell could you really do with her character in a final episode?
ReplyDeleteIam so wanna read teh comments. but dont want to spoil myself D:
ReplyDeleteErr... Emily and Jack
ReplyDeleteDon't read them! It will spoil you everything! xD
ReplyDeleteSumming it up: almost everyone loved it :)
Ok, so before I finally go:
ReplyDeleteFavorite Season Premiere: Renaissance (issues with this season aside, the premiere was really fun!)
Favorite Season Finale: Execution (it will be forever the best, as satisfying as the series finale was).
Favorite Character: Emily (Nolan almost there)
Favorite Episode: Execution.
Favorite Season: Season 3
Least Favorite Season: Season 4
Least Favorite episode: 4x14 Kindred.
Least Favorite Character: Margaux (with Ben and Charlotte right up there).
Character I missed the most this season: Conrad (and Daniel once he died)
So what are your picks?
No... :(
ReplyDeleteWell I'm going to miss this show and I gotta say Amanda Clark and Victoria Grayson are up there withsolid snake and liquid snake,L and Kira in my personal favorite rivalries.
ReplyDeleteToo bad there wasn't a third for Margaux.
ReplyDeleteThe series finale was phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteI posted that with a little side line that if it was not just let me keep that illusion that it was :-)
ReplyDeleteSo, how do you think Revenge will rate tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteI think a 1.5 is the most likely scenario, though I would obviously would love for it to go on even a higher note
"Before you embark in a journey of revenge, dig two graves" it means 1 to your enemy and 1 to yourself, right?
ReplyDeleteI just think that Victoria deserved a better death
ReplyDeleteFavorite Season Premiere: Pilot (Season 1)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Season Finale: Execution (Season 3)
Favorite Character: Victoria
Favorite Season: Season 1
Least Favorite Season: Season 3
Least Favorite Episode: There are none
Least Favorite Character: Ashley Davenport
Character I missed the most this season: Daniel
Fantastic ending to my number one television addiction. The show had its ups and downs, but it went out right.
ReplyDeleteI just wish ABC would give Kingsmakers a chance.
Best 'Revenge' of the night was Charlotte having the doctors transplant Victoria's heart into Amanda's body. Way to follow in your mother's footsteps young lady.
ReplyDeleteDid you actually want Amanda to die?
ReplyDeleteIt was the perfect ending, very satisfied.
ReplyDeleteIt should have been 2 hours over the mess OUAT aired.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite season premiere had to be Renaissance.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite season finale was definitely Execution, but Reckoning came close to a second.
ReplyDeleteIf we don't get the Complete Series DVD boxset on an Infinity Box I don't know what life means...
ReplyDeleteThe show had a happy ending. Do you know how rare that is these days?
ReplyDeleteI think 1.4-1.5. Maybe even a 1.6? probably hopeful thinking...
ReplyDeleteHa! Yes, that's what I meant. It's late. My brain must be tired.
ReplyDeleteThe hour flew by. I remember looking up at the clock and seeing the show only had an half an hour left with so much story left. OUAT's two hours dragged miserably. It's episode was downright silly. Revenge should have been given an additional episode. I think ABC knew in January they wanted to cancel it.
ReplyDeleteThere was absolutely no way that Sunil was going to wrap up Revenge and satisfy everyone this quickly. IMO, ABC should have announced season 4 as the final season than waiting till the freaking last minute to say it was but whatever. I personally thought the finale was perfect and one of the most satisfying ones I have ever seen on television.
ReplyDeleteWhile it seems like some people didn't like it, I always thought Revenge was going to give Emily a happy ending ever since the beginning of the show so I wasn't surprised that it actually happened.
ReplyDeleteFavorite Season Premiere: Renaissance (Season 4 Premier)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Season Finale: Reckoning (Season 1 Finale)
Favorite Character: Emily Thorne!!!
I don't think she can have children.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved it. I'm sad that the series is finished but really happy with the ending.
ReplyDeleteAnd them two were once lovers and he had to eventually take her out. It was there relationship that started all this chaos.
ReplyDeleteExactly, if something would have happened to Amanda, Nolan would have felt he did all of this for nothing, just to lose his "sister". And then it would just be right to revenge her death. A season 5 would have been needed.
ReplyDeleteWhat if the writers actually decided to have Victoria suicide herself, then she wouldn't have been in the series finale anyways. Victoria went for the kill but Amanda's life was spared by none other than Victoria.
ReplyDeleteBut she never took a life. Victoria had to pay for taking Aiden's life.
ReplyDeleteVERY!
ReplyDeleteGreat post.
ReplyDeleteRight she did help Amanda find Victoria though
ReplyDeleteYea I don't think season 3 was a proper ending it was more of a cliff hanger ending which is not very satisfying.
ReplyDeleteI think she may help Nolan out with his "missions".
ReplyDeleteI'm torn.
ReplyDeleteThey could of kept all that Emily and Jack nonsense out, as it was so random and obviously fan service.
ReplyDeleteMadeleine Stowe is great. I'm curious to see where she ends up next.
ReplyDeleteYea helping that guy get revenge and his mother out of prison.
ReplyDeleteand you changed your original post from Emily and David to Emily and Jack. Good!...
ReplyDeleteOtherwise there was some sick incest thing going on there.
ReplyDeleteWas Madeline Stowe coming to the point in her career where she realised that tv was now a better medium for telling stories than movies. Its really been a big issue with all the actors from the 80's. A lot of them avoided tv because of a 'stigma' attached to it, and now in this decade there seems to be a role reversal. TV is the cuttting edge of creativity and movies are now somewhat stale and tired
ReplyDeleteYes. It refers to the fact that the repucussions of enacting your revenge normally implicates the person carrying it out in the end
ReplyDeleteCharacter I missed the least: Declan.
ReplyDeleteWas never sure what he was doing, why he was there or what he saw in Charlotte.
Also his Jersey accent was odd considering neither his father or Brother had one.

ReplyDeleteI loved it.
And it did.
ReplyDeleteSo happy how it ended but it was kinda cheesy.
ReplyDeleteRIP Victoria FOR GOOD!! LOL.
ReplyDeleteAmanda had a nightmare that she got the heart. They never really went out and said that it actually happened so I suppose that this is what they meant with the bit of a cliffhanger because fans will never really know for sure if Vicky's bitch of a daughter was cruel enough to consent to giving her mother's heart to Amanda. Somehow I doubt it though.
ReplyDeleteABC did give Revenge an extra episode - 23. The ratings were far too low for a two-hour finale. (Compared to what a two-hour OUAT finale would do.) I'm just glad they wrapped it up appropriately.
ReplyDeleteWhy Victoria desired it David died that sad ending for Amanda.
ReplyDeleteShe was she was the white revenge and Victoria the dark Amanda was good and Victoria was evil.
ReplyDeleteGoodbye Revenge!!! I'll miss you!!! You were an amazing show!!!
ReplyDeleteWhy does David have to die it seems so sad for Amanda 12 months together taken away again it so cruel.
ReplyDeleteThey should had part 2 episode called redemption
ReplyDeleteJack would have told her if was true.
ReplyDeleteThey can change so Victoria lied.
ReplyDeleteThank you writters for letting me live at peace this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm just curious about that Victoria's hearth. I mean - it looked like it was a bad dream, but wasn't Charlotte supposed to deliver some information in this episode?
Well, it's been beautiful 4 years with Revenge. Goodbye.
I think was Jack would told right if were true he said it wasn't unless he sick.
ReplyDeleteI think Jack creep if he lied Amanda said that her dram of having Victoria heart wasn't real when was I take it it was a dream.
ReplyDeleteIt was pretty predictable, like David killing Victoria and kind of cheesy but still enjoyable. And I couldn't help but aww at Amanda's present to jack at their wedding.
ReplyDeleteI mean really it seemed obvious from the start of S4 that this was going to be the end, if they had continued the show it would have been dishonest to the happy ending they gave Amanda. You know she would have ended up back in trouble if they had done a S5.
If they were really staying true to the series then yes she would have died but this is Broadcast TV in the end and I just didn't think they would go that dark.
S5 would been everyone she took down team up against her. Shame Kara doesnt care her daughter and her husband are alive.
ReplyDeleteIt was just a dream Jack would told her if were true.
ReplyDeleteThat was a dream she never got her heart Jack confirmed this.
ReplyDeleteWow it was awesome, the twist with victorias heart, I dont think that was a dream and the ending with nolan. Just epic
ReplyDeleteIt worked for me.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it yet. I'm about 5 episodes behind at the moment. Can somebody possibly tell me if everything wraps up nicely? Does the show have a proper ending? No spoilers (pretty please). I just want a yes or no response haha
ReplyDeleteOk so while that was not the strongest episode of Revenge it definitely was a fitting end to a great story!
ReplyDeleteI am gonna miss this show! REVENGE!!!!
Favorite Season Premiere = Season 3 (emily getting Nolan from prison and buying him a house will be one of my fave scenes ever, don't know why)
ReplyDeletefavorite finale - season 2
fave character - tied for emily and nolan
season 3 > season 2 > season 1 > season 4
agreed on 4 X 14 kindred as least favorite episode
least Favorite character - margaux
character missed the most - Aiden, maybe Daniel
others to add:
fave ship - emily and nolan 100% (I'm actually sad that they won't be living in the same city anymore)
favorite romantic ship - emily and Aiden, I still see them together more than em and jack
-I still can't believe jack can fully forgive emily for all that happened.
Revenge, you will be missed.
ReplyDeleterushed and very mushi, but at least we got closure.
ReplyDeleteI AGREE!!!
ReplyDeleteAmanda would know if she got another heart because you have to eat special medicine so the body won't reject the foreign heart. Well, there was one case in real life when a girl/woman got new organs and her body adapted so she won't be needing to eat medicine, but she's unique as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteHere's my earlier comment again:

Too rare! :-( I don't feel like I have a very happy life (though it could always be worse) so I at least want a happy ending for characters that I care about.
ReplyDeleteHere's my comment for the fourth time:

Yes. ;)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Season Premiere: Pilot (followed by Fear)
ReplyDeleteFavorite Season Finale: Execution
Favorite Character: Emily, by a mile and a mile and a mile, not even close
Favorite Episode: Execution
Favorite Season: Season as a whole, Season 1. Major props to 3A though
Least Favorite Season: Season 2, although it wasn't as bad as some made it out to be
Least Favorite Episode: 2x08 Lineage and 4x14 Kindred are the ones that come to mind
Least Favorite Character: Declan Porter. I ended up liking Margaux' arc
Character I missed the most: Aiden and later Daniel
There were some shocking surprises (Amanda being Victoria's daughter for example), I'm glad that Jack and Amanda got married. Sad to see the serie end but glad to see Emily come back in Captain America 3 and hoping for the others to be on new projects soon.
ReplyDeleteUnderwhelming would be an understatement!
ReplyDeleteReally hoped for much more. The start was slow, the middle was okay, the end was too happy ending.
White Gold was a nice touch to the show, Nolan got a nice ending and Margaux overacted terribly.
Overall I expected more, but I'm glad we got this nice ending and not a story left wide open.
I think Emily got another heart because she as a big scar.
ReplyDeleteI liked the finale but It still would have been better if Jack and Emily just stayed friends because it felt rushed and of course they do it in the finale. I still though Aidan and Emily were true soulmates but he died and Victoria took his life and killed others as well. But it was a great finale
ReplyDeleteI was thoroughly underwhelmed but at least there was a happy ending... I wonder if her dream was real or not.. I want it to be real lol
ReplyDeleteOr Amanda knew all along she got a new heart to save her life after the shooing so she took the pills willingly and without question and Amanda just thought it was a anonymous available heart that it's host had died that day and had a filled out donor card in their wallet ... per Charlotte's request
ReplyDeleteAmanda probably did get another heart... They don't really say how much time elapsed from the shooting to the ending... What she doesn't know is that it was possibly Victoria's
ReplyDeleteI think she is taking a break but I hope she pops up somewhere soon... I'm going to miss her
ReplyDeletethat's why they call it revenge!
ReplyDeleteThat scene when Emily and Victoria were on the ground and they were in black and white. Then the thing of Vic's heart... creepy as the sex scene, sex close to the ex's death... but thank you it gave a closure. I will miss the show :((
ReplyDeleteReally good ! Emily & Victoria final scene wasn't as epic as it could have been but everything ended up the way I wanted to so I'm happy. Emily finally got her happy ending.
ReplyDeleteThe cliffhanger was like Desperate Housewives cliffhanger, I'm so relieved, I was scared the boat was going to blow up.
I'm sorry, when did the ep say Amanda was Victoria's daughter? You're joking right?
ReplyDeleteThe only thing close to that, was that Victoria was raped by her own father.
The nightmare was everything. Without that I wouldn't have loved the ending as much as I did.
ReplyDeleteAwful!!!! Predictable and both women should have died- that's the general consensus as to what the two graves should have been.
ReplyDeleteWell Charlotte gave Victoria's heart to save Amanda and the doctor said that "they were a match" and that Amanda can never know who belong her new heart so.
ReplyDeleteBut Emily knows she has another heart; remember when she was going to put her wedding dress on she was staring at a mirror and we saw the mark of the operation. The thing she might not know is that it was Victoria's heart.
ReplyDeleteBut then if Emily died it would've made a lot of fans angry.
ReplyDeleteThere's no winning in this game. It was all too hallmark movie to me at the end. It shouldn't have been as happy as it was
ReplyDeleteI loved it. My favourite characters got a happy ending and Victoria died. Margaux redeemed herself and Lousie finally chose the right side. Some people say it was cheezy, but id take that over a depressing series finale where everyone dies, any day.
ReplyDeleteThat was a nightmare. It wasnt real. Besides, just because a heart is a match doesn't mean they are mother and daughter, most donors get organs from complete strangers.
ReplyDeleteBut "a match" in terms of donors and transplants could be also a total stranger. Doctors check blood types and antigenes and other stuff. Also a relative can't in some cases be a donor when they aren't "a match". It doesn't prove they were in fact relatives.
ReplyDeleteSorry I missunderstood then, I thought that they were relative.
ReplyDeleteMy bad, I thought they were related because Charlote looked a little guilty. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteSo Patrick is Victoria's son AND brother ?!
ReplyDeleteI feel it fitted well that David died, because it was really him and Victoria who started it all. Conrad started the war, after he found out that Victoria was unfaithful.
ReplyDeleteHow was this in anyway David fault that some Slut wife framed him.
ReplyDeleteTwist is everyone hates her and she has Victoria heart Jack just looking for bit on the side
ReplyDeleteKara doesnt care about anyone in the hamptons.
ReplyDeleteDavid died in May or winter
ReplyDeleteVictoria's heart inside Emily was a "grotesque" move. An unnatural, paradoxical situation on a distorted level of reality. One you often find in literature.
ReplyDeleteI liked it but maybe I was expecting something more epic? That final showdown with Em and Victoria was kind of a letdown. But I'm soo glad she got her happy ending. I was afraid they would kill her.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I'm going to miss the show very much. And I hope to see Emily VanCamp in another show soon because that woman is amazing.
