  1. Another great episode love the interaction between Vanessa and Dr. Frankenstein at the dress shop

  2. - Victor and Vanessa's "errand" was hilarious in a way that keeps with the show's tone.
    - I need more of Victor and Lily.
    - When is the greater cast going to find out Victor, Caliban, and Lily's secret?

  3. Yea when are they going to find out about Victor and his creations.
Maybe if Vanessa really does go have tea with Victor and Lily she all recognize her and say something.

Same for Dorian, what is his propose if not for the supernatural world. When will he get envoled? Will they wait to do a arc on him until after Vanessa's or Ethan wolf arc? Cuz right now he is doing thing we already knew he did before.

And the episode was great regardless of these questions I really like the Ethan not falling for the trap of Hecate and the shopping scene.

At the end during the witch sneak attack I was just waiting for Ethan to wolf out and grab a witch. Man it would of been awesome.
He needs to wolf out soon and hopefully in front of friends.

  4. Loved the entire episode but my favorite part was definitely Victor and Vanessa shopping. Vanessa was so amused while Victor could not have been more uncomfortable. Loved watching Ethan out Hecate as a fraud. She underestimated him big time. Also I really want to know what that Verbis Diablo incantation Vanessa keeps saying means. Has to be powerful whatever it is. Or it's made more powerful because she's the one saying it.

  5. Ethan wasn't having any of Hecate's bullshit. Awesome.

As charming as Dorian is, I'm getting worried that his story is going nowhere and has nothing to do with anyone else on the show.

Seeing Vanessa laughing while shopping with Victor was probably one of the prettiest scenes this show has done! I love her smile so much (yep, I'm a girl and I'm totally in love with Eva. I can't help myself ah ah ♥)

The calm before the storm :)

  6. I am just relieved for Billie Piper's sake that she is no longer having to spend entire episodes naked.

  7. Cannot wait for him to eat a witch.

  8. One of my favorite parts from the episode, seeing Vanessa smiling and laughing while Victor was being extremely awkward. It really humanizes the characters, and I love how the writer adds these light moments to the episodes to give the audience a break from the emotional turmoil happening.

Every time I see Lily, I always forget that she was Brona. The transition was so seamless that I actually seem to forget at times that Brona even existed. And I can't help but think this might end terribly for Victor.

Yah, the Dorian part of the episode was ok. But that's all it was for me. I would like to know as well if his storyline actually has a purpose, cause right now all he is doing is stuff we have already seen him do before.

I think Hecate was extremely reckless. She lied a little too much, and it was nice to see Ethan easily catch on and prove that he is smarter than the stereotypical average cowboy American. I was actually happy to see Evelyn's plan fall through with Ethan, cause I would have been a little bothered by the fact that two men in the group have been seduced by witches so easily.

I agree, Billy looks gorgeous as Lily. It just seems Brona's harsh character was replaced by a gentle and innocent one.

When Victor asked Vanessa if she would accompany him and Lily on some sort of lunch sometime, I thought Vanessa would somehow find out that way. Since she already saw Brona and Ethan at the theater, maybe she will recognize her despite the major changes. I just feel like Vanessa would know, I guess I keep thinking Vanessa can "sense a disturbance in the force" or something like that.

  9. The Vanessa/Victor scenes alone made this excellent episode worth watching! Great writing and superb acting by Eva Green and Harry Treadway brought some normalcy to this episode by two of this series' most disturbed/tormented characters no less. Ethan's scene with the witch made it clear that he is more than a pair of "six guns" and not to be made a fool of. More of Billie Pipper...............she has been great as Lilly. Dorian and Angelique's "date" was charming and also brought a sense of "normalcy" to the episode, but I do believe Dorian's "lady love" is more than meets the eye and I'm not talking about the "obvious". I look forward to this series every Sunday, but still can't understand why more people don't watch "Penny Dreadful"................what to do, what to do? 4 A PENNY FULL OF DREAD, I remain Nobody!!!

  10. I get the feeling that Vanessa will recognize her, talk to Ethan, and that will set in motion a chain of events. I think Ethan will attack Victor, and Lily will attack Ethan in an uncontrollable rage. We'll see the Bride come out then. Plus, I imagine that Lily is similarly disproportionately strong like Caliban, and she will beat the crap out of Ethan.

  11. That's a good point about strength. Was Proteus ever that strong, cause he seemed normal. Then again, all three of them have lead different births and personalities. I'm not sure why Vanessa would want to tell Ethan about Lily...She would know that would upset him and makes everyone even more stressed out about matters other than the witches. Maybe she shows up with Ethan unexpectedly to lunch and then a situation ensues. I can see Ethan being mad and thinking that it's messed up. But Ethan is also a werewolf so I don't necessarily see him being thrown around like a rag doll the whole time..

  12. I don't think that Vanessa knows that Brona is dead. She would probably just mention it as an odd thing to Ethan. "It's strange. I saw Victor with that friend of yours, Brona. No, she looked different, but I'm sure it was her." And while Ethan can wolf out, I'm not sure what triggers it. He didn't wolf out when he was fighting the witches.

  13. Yah, that's what I find weird about Ethan's wolf side. He doesn't wolf out everytime he feels in danger, which makes me wonder what ends up being the trigger.

  14. i love this show so much, it hurts <3

  15. The good kind of hurt, right? Kind if like the pain one enjoys while engaging in strenuous physical exercise( running/cycling/gym).

  16. Ethan sussed out Hecate but he was so far off the mark. He though she was sent by his father and it turned out to be even worse. Nice parting shot of 'sensible shoes' said by Hecate as she ran from Sir. Malcolm's house.

So, the witches were after Vanessa's hair and they got it. I wonder what Vanessa chants in the Verbis Diablo that unsettles the witches so much. Is it a warning? Or is it a spell in itself that could prove dangerous to them. The witch in the first episode and now this - they were both thoroughly take aback when Vanessa said those words and fear came on their faces.

Vanessa and Victor shopping - this will be one of the most enjoyable scenes of the show for me. Bright spot in an otherwise dark show. The expressions and smiles on Vanessa's face as Victor floundered in that dress shop were awesome and made me smile ear to ear.

Nice bit of character interactions between Victor/Lily and Creature/Lavinia.

Sembene spoke and he smiled and he prepared butter cream torte And he instinctively knew to sit on guard on the stairs. The man is full of surprises.

This was another great episode to add to the awesomeness of S2 so far.

  17. lol yeah you could say that :D

  18. I still doesn't seem like they are going into Dorian's back story, but I'd bet Angelique has a connection to Ethan's story

  19. Actually Vanessa is aware that Brona is dead. When they were standing outside the theater last season finale, just before they went in with the group, Vanessa tells Ethan "I was so very sorry to hear about Miss Croft." It was a brief moment because Ethan didn't really respond so she changed the subject after that.
