Positives - The hilarious quips exchanged between Ethan and Mr. Lyle made my day - Madame Kali and her room of dolls will haunt me with nightmares for many nights to come. - The first interaction between Ms. Ives and "John Clare" was the thought provoking, emotionally profound type of dialogue akin to this show. Beautiful scene.
Negatives - Dorian Gray, wtf!? He was useless last season, now they add in a character to interact with him who will probably add more wasted time to the show. - The Brona scenes dragged
A decent episode, not even close to living up to last season yet.
- I like how John Claire is read up on poets, and he has already given thought to the afterlife and his part in it. My thoughts on Lily's scenes: - My favorite parts were the Lily/Victor scenes. He felt something for her, but he kept it to himself. He attempted to keep his promise by introducing Caliban/John Claire as her intended, but didn't try to rob her of her agency by saying that she only had to love him if she wished. - Notice that the rest of the show is down in dim, dreary colors, but Lily is lit by warm yellows? - You can already tell that Lily feels something for Victor.
I think that the woman with Gray will be limited, and she's simply to reinforce that Dorian suffers from severe ennui and will find something to move him wherever it comes from.
Let's count the reasons more viewers should be watching this "MAGNIFIECENT" series: 1) Sir Malcolm is a "Great White Hunter" who gives back to the people........who knew he had a heart. 2) Introduction of "The Bride". Billie Piper was great last season, but she is AWESOME this episode! 3) Dorian Grey had his very own "Crying Game" moment! I thought the "character" was played by Jordan Gavaris (Felix/Orphan Black). 4) The lead witch is building her very own "Chucky" (Child's Play) army? 5) What happens when someone survives a "werewolf" attack/bite? I could go on, but why when you can just check this series out for yourself, fellow posters/viewers. With the first two episodes down this season is off to a great start IMHO. 4 A PENNY FULL OF DREAD, I am still Nobody!!!
My friends might find this episode slow when I re watch it with them, but for me it was a good episode and I don't mind such.
This episode basically introduces the mysteries of the language and the possible answers they will get once they piece together the writing of the possessed man.
Ethan might be realizing what he is after talking about the wolf family crest. Look forward to the day he knows what he is, and then embrace it. Currently seems like a double personality not yet fused.
Vanessa and John Claire meeting was interesting, I like how Vanessa just saw him as any regular guy, and John Claire got to talk very openly.
Dorian was just being Dorian...I spotted Angelique being a man probably 2 seconds before he even appeared on screen, which was funny in my mind. I was like really! I see where this is going.
Them witches be very good evil in this series. Evelyn playing Malcolm, maybe to later cause a Vanessa to act in a certain way. And her daughter going Naked mode on the train lol, I love the witches Naked mode. -But fuck I loved that end scene even tho it was creepy as hell. I liked how All the dolls were basically reaction of all the viewers who will see the episode and go wtf.
Loved it. I never thought I'd laugh that much during a PD episode though, Mr. Lyle was hilarious! I really loved the interactions between Evelyn & Malcolm and Vanessa & John Claire. I'm also loving the witches as the villains, they're so creepy. I had a hunch that they'd change Brona's accent but I wish they hadn't changed her name, I really loved the name Brona.
She takes Vodoo to a whole other lvl. DAMN! Loved whow teh cameras went from Eveln to the dolls being all shocked. Excellent episode. The creture and Miss Ees meeting for teh first time was one of teh ebst sceness of the episode, how they talked about religin and what it does to oen another, how they feel. Was really good. Lily is bonding to Victor and Joghn is gonna be pissed and devastated.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
