Well I spent most of those two hours crying because that was literally the exact opposite of what we wanted for everyone, especially Ward. Congratulations, anti-Warders, you were right. I was hoping for a storyline where the abuse victim could heal and break the cycle of abuse but no, of course not. John Garrett won. Fantastic.
I love Ward and I can't stand to see them do this to him. He didn't deserve this and neither did anyone else.
I can't enjoy Jiaying being beyond shady because they ruined everything.
And I'm out. I can't trust them after this. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go cry again.
Now THATS how you do a finale! Multiple tears were shed, heart was racing, and screams were heard throughout the neighborhood. Bravo writers!! 2 season finales in a row that have left me speechless. I feel so emotionally exhausted right now haha.
Okay, I'm calmer now. Until the end, that episode was everything I could've wanted. So good! Epic one liners... "That's why I stand with ward." So much shade! "Science, Biatch!" Mack with the ax! I can't wait to watch it again. But what a cliffie! Good golly!
Just what did you think the end game for Ward was going to be? Escape into the Sunset. There is no place he could go that Hydra or SHIELD or the Inhumans couldnt find him.
We should all take a moment to recognize how incredible Dichen Lachman was this season. Jiaying was such a great anti-hero to the point where I was actually interested in Skye's story for the first time ever. Looking forward to Season 3!
Ok, I absolutely LOVED the season finally. It was mindblowing. I was upset for them turning Jiaying a villain and I really can't forgive them killing Raina and NOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOOOORDOOOOOON :( But having Cal kill Jiaying and at least allowing him to have a happy ending was good enough for me. Now I NEED Lincoln on season 3, pleeeease <3 He was so sweet this episode and I'm super curious about his past.
I'm not going to sleep tonight. I like this better than AoU. I'm going to have to watch this over again. At least three times. Secret Avengers, here we come. It's going to be a long few months, especially considering the cliff finger that pretty much makes Fitz the Peggy Carter of AOS. My poor science baby, both of them. Thankfully, I had the good sense to ration Daredevil for the summer. Between that, the SHIELD comic book, and fanfiction I should make it to October.
Unfortunately, I can't see how they will redeem Ward now. Your right, Garrett won. Ward was too weak.
You were however right about Jiaying. Jiaying just went full crazy mode. I can't believe she was trying to kill Skye...crazy bitch. But I'm sure she was a good person before all that stuff with the Inhumans. Her kindness towards Skye was definitely not faked, but Skye was right. Jiaying ruined herself with hate. Jiaying literally was the Inhuman Hitler. Which was ironic because she was trying to avoid her people becoming the victims in that situation, that Shield turned into the victim...which doesn't help the Inhumans at all.
I honestly don't see how Skye is okay with her mother trying to suck the life out of her and then have her dad smash her bones in front of her. Also, I love how Phil just walks off having his arm chopped off. I all of a sudden like Mack now. Damn these writers!
Can't wait till next season...I almost pissed myself when I saw Caterpillar.
Ward isnt dead. I think they are positioning him to become the new head of Hydra.. or one of the heads. It will certainly make a change because from what AOS has shown us of Hydra its generally run by Scientists/Officials and rarely by someone who is 'just an agent'
But why Simmons I'm still reeling was she inhuman? Jaiying did say the rock was made to destroy them and Phil losing a hand. I have no words I think I'm going to need a few hours.
Whats interesting is that for the Synopsis of Season 3 (which by the way was extremely dumbass to give out before the finale had aired) Ward is STILL a Principal cast member. I dont know if that means much anymore for AOS who lets be honest has thrown in a LOT of new characters season 2, and Im not sure if this means more or less screen time but it is what it is.
Good point ! Dichen Lachman did a great job this season ! She's amazing ! Sorry but I don't have the chance to watch the show tonight... so Is Jiaying still alive ? She's coming back in season 3 and Cal too ?
My roommates were asleep so I spent the entire last scene miming the words "SIMMONS!!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" Oh wow. The rest of the episode was good just a bit predictable, but that ending...WOW!!!! Cannot wait till next season
So they are going to rehash Cal's motives. Remember he wanted to destroy SHIELD /Coulson too for taking his daughter away from him. Did Ward really in the space of a season last onto Kara that much?
Why do you insist upon ending your shows with cliff hangers that hurt FitzSimmons. Why is it always one of these two who gets almost killed or taken. Not Simmons! First you brain damage Fitz in Season one finale now you take Simmons somewhere as they are getting close to each other again and actually talking to one another. Darn you writers. You break my heart.
I Agree. Ward I also find a lot more interesting as the season progressed. He was basically a male May in the first season, and then since his deception has become a lot more interesting in season 2. And not in the mustache twirling villain kinda way.
I am thinking my latter thinking is the most likely as I think the Stone sensed the crystals leeking into the ocean and it set off a reaction. It would only make sense that it would need hosts to kill the In-humans as it would need someway to move around.
Yeah I dont ... well Ward dosnt ever seem to ... seethe with anger. He lets his actions speak for him normally but they never really seem to control him. I think a lot of those emotions were 'burned' outta him as a kid with his brother. Even when he killed his family, I still think he did it in a calm and collected manner.
This was surely a great finale for fans of Coulson, May, Fitz, Simmons, Skye, Bobbi and Hunter. I, however, am interested in Ward and his family as a whole, so I hoped to get at least a reveal that Lincoln is his brother Thomas, but no, all they gave me is yet another hint of that with Gordon's "Are you forgetting your life before we found you". A damn reveal? Sorry, man, that's for freaking season 3! *bangs head on the wall*
And sorry, but I can't even take Grant Ward as the new head of HYDRA seriously. He's no Daniel Whitehall or even the horribly-wasted-by-the-MCU Baron Strucker, he lacks the much needed gravitas for the role. Henchman or hitman suits the character much more than Evil Genius.
as I mentioned elsewhere , this is the first time I remember HYDRA not being headed by a Scientist. Strucker is about the closes thing they had before Ward.
WOW! Just WOW! The entire finale was incredible. They toyed with almost killing/pretending to kill basically every single major character. My heart was racing so hard at times. WOW!
I had a feelings they would mess with FitzSimmons-fans. And as soon as Fitz left the room at the end and they showed Jemma alone and there was still time before the episode would end, I thought "Oh oh! Oh no!" [followed by "I hate you!" directed at the writers.]. Hubby and I both doubt that Jemma is dead, but having to wait the entire summer or longer to see what happened there and what's gonna happen next ... MAN! [Part of me wishes they would just have her show up at the beginning of Season 3 on a date with Fitz as if nothing had happened, not explain anything like with the electric hand dryer, and give us an evil laugh that they screwed with us for the entire summer, but what someone wrote below about the 'stone' using Jemma as a host sounds really interesting.]
As a side-note: When the cryptic 'Fitz and Simmons talk'-spoiler showed up, I had this idea that Simmons would ask Fitz out on a date and he wouldn't get it ['Yeah. I'm not hungry right now. Maybe later.']. I'm highly amused by the fact that they actually did that only reversing the characters from what I had imagined.
Never thought they were going to redeem Ward with where they took him this season, but because im not invested in Kara and everything with them was largely off screen it's not very believable. Not that I hate where they are taking Ward really, just shows have trouble with proper development of motivations for angst these days.
Amazing finale. Just disappointed at the way they chose to end Jiaying's story. Man I really was hoping we would see more of her in season 3, that's the only reason I'm really bummed.
I kept telling my hubby that with this show being a Whedon production I am preparing myself for every single character to possibly die [or maybe die and then come back, or maybe be thought to be dead, or turn out completely evil....].
Sorry for taking so long to reply, Thi86! I was writing my thoughts and I wrote A LOT haha. But yeah discussing Simmons, my first thought is that she will either turn Inhuman or some entity with powers. What do you think?
Brett Dalton and Chloe Bennett were two of the most underused/dull characters in the beginning of the series and now they play two of the most interesting characters on the show!
I have no idea where they are going with the Grant Ward story (whether he becomes the head of Hydra or what) but I will enjoy the ride for as long as they feel it is necessary to tell his story!
O my word, will Fitz and Simmons ever be able to be together? I have to admit, I did kind of figure that something would happen to her once Fitz left the room and she was the only one left in the room with that "Thing". Guess what exactly that "Thing" is will be explored more in Season 3. Also, now that I think about it, they did a LOT of foreshadowing with them trying to talk about what happened at the bottom of the ocean last season!
I vote that Luke Mitchell and Kyle MacLachlan permanently join the show! But I will be happy if we get recurring appearances from them! Maybe Lincoln can help Skye with that Inhuman program Coulson has her working on!
Cal, I really felt for his character this episode! Especially when he had to kill his wife, that had to be so hard! And then to be taken away from Skye/Daisy...poor Skye, she had to lose her parents all over again!
Dude, that scene at the end with the Terragen crystals mixing in the water and getting into the fish which then were made into fish oil. Ooh...next season is gonna be good!!!
Scientists have vision, Grant Ward doesn't. His goal is to get revenge for Kara's death, Strucker's and Pierce's was to take over the world. He's a weak-ass substitute to all the great Hydra heads that came before him, his Hydra should be shouting "Fail Hydra!" instead of "Hail Hydra!", it'd be more faithful to the spirit of Nu-Hydra!
My sentiments exactly! I screamed so loudly at that final scene for a few seconds after the screen went to black. I can't wait to see what Mo, Jed, and Jeff have in store for Jemma next season.
I have a feeling Ward is going to round up a whole bunch of "misfits" and make his own band just like Cal did, and he'll go after SHIELD. He reminds me of the villain in Will Smith's "Hancock", with his whole "closure" schtick.
I have been saying how useless Ward is all season. He's a co-dependent that has no direction unless he attaches himself to someone, anyone, to give his sad life purpose.
They could of given him something better to do in the rinale though, he really poorly used in the second half. I don't mind where they are taking him, but they used terrible writing getting him there.
It's more like Bobbi said there's no end for someone like Ward, there's always someone else to shift the blame of his unhappiness to. This instance he latched onto Kara like he did Skye and again Shield got in his way of getting the girl.
Bobbi is my She-ro!! My sister and I loved when she got out of her restraints and slammed Ward's head on the table. She fought him and Kara so well. She almost had them. It was awesome. I loved her strength and am very happy she did not die!
I'm so happy Skye's mother died. Ugh . . . I couldn't stand her! I loved what Skye did for her father though. I really began to like his character toward the end of the season, so I was happy to see him starting a new life. He deserves the second chance.
I had TWD flashbacks when Mack cut off Coulson's arm!!!! Smart move. Loved that scene. Also loved the three-way fight w/Gordon. Loved Mack and am happy to still see him w/the team. I especially liked when he hit Lincoln over the head and told Skye he was in more of a "cracking heads" kind of mood. Haha!
I detest everything about Ward. I was so hoping May would catch up to him and kill him! I hate his character. He's not even fun to watch - for me anyway.
OMG. for some reason i couldnt stop lauging when Mack cut off Coulson's hand, i repeated the scene like 5 times and everytime I laughed like a maniac. That was some great season finale. At first i liked how they were all in diferent places. And then.... OMG. THEY DO NOT. WHAT. I CANT EVEN . WTH. WHAT?
- The thing I want to state at the outset, is that Jiaying was not wrong. Once the Inhumans go on the list, they're doomed. Someone is going to use that list against them. - Raina is dead. We mourn thee, Raina. - Was there a different actor for Mr. Hyde? That didn't look like Kyle. - Agent 33 is dead. We mourn thee, 33. - Gordon's dead. Damn it, I liked him. - WHOA! Even Agents of SHIELD got in on the Empire Strikes Back tribute. - Jiaying is dead. We mourn thee, Jiaying. - That's what you get for overfishing! Now that fish oil is worth the outrageous prices they charge. - May with a red thong. - Ward is now the head of Hydra. I actually kind of like this twist. - Cal running a vet. It's a good ending for him, but now we don't have anymore crazy Cal. - Skye gets to drive Lola. - Does this mean that Simmons was a potential?
The take away! At least Cal was Good like I always saw him. Glad he got a good life at the end. Damn Whitehall for leading Jaiying in the path of hatred. In the end she played a evil mother well. Sucks for Skye/Daisy but at least she still has someone to care about in her father.
The Rest of the Episode was good and bad, but I'm not gonna talk about the bad in the season finale as there is no point. Ward and May both played a great trap. And that torture was so evil I can feel it, but I still like him and Look forward to him leading next season. Fitz and Simmons got some good moments, but damn that end. Simmons got devoured. Not that will stall their path even more. But more then that I wonder what it will do to her.
I also look forward to Skye leading a team of Inhumans, and making sure they stay secret.
And I really hope the Fish Oil effects a lot of people in some god damn way. Other wise I'd be disappointed.
I loved to the ENTIRE episode had me on the edge of my seat like this is what I expected from Marvel I loved this season finale it's gonna be hard to Sleep
They teased about going full Secret Avengers and Skye is going to lead it. They made Ward truly relevant villain for the MCU and Brett Dalton deserves a movie gig after that episode. And I am so happy about the way they went about Cal and him protecting his daughter ultimately. Every scene he was in was just amazing, especially the ones where he revealed his true motivations. It was just heartbreakingly beautiful. I also liked that Lincoln stood with Skye in the end. And I really hope she's going to go by Daisy now by the way. Best episode yet!
Simmons can't be dead...she just inside the damn stone.....the real question is who let the door open? poor Fitz he probably think Simmons decide to not go to dinner and that tear their relationship again
Great episode! Poor Skye. Her own mother trying to kill her. I'm so glad they didn't kill Cal and he gets to start over. I hope we see Skye visiting him occasionally. They really made Jiaying a villain. Much more than I thought they would. Dichen did a great job with the character. Speaking of villain I guess Ward is the new head of Hydra? Those torture scenes were difficult to watch.
Skye got to drive Lola! The group she will lead sounds like Secret Warriors. Poor FitzSimmons. I'm guessing Simmons might end up possessed by the Kree stone. The hiatus will be long.
Why wasn't that damn door locked?!?!?! If anything should require a passcode to enter, or a key, or at least some measure of security beyond a damn latch, it's the mystery alien weapon. C'MON NOW.
Can't FitzSimmons have a break? ONE FINALE. I JUST WANT ONE TO BE NICE.
Pretty much. i said the same thing, only this won't be Cal's pathetic band of misfits. They are going to want him to be more formidable or else why go there again?
Exactly. I dont think we will ever get to see Grant explode with Rage. Thats just not him anymore. But yeah hes certainly twisted, but in some strange way I think his family had it coming. They sounded really f----d up.
Mb Simmons after that accident receive some powers to find inhumans(She is scientist) deactivate inhuman powers and imprison like it's on Flash they do and index peoples with powers.
And talking about kills on the final episode. Guys what are you thinking about Jiaying she is really dead or she can regenerate because of crystals in Ocean and after that she became really crazy and Simmons can help to Jiaying lose power and be a human,Skye finally get her family back.
I always worry when a season finale wraps everything up with 5 mins to spare. Then they lured me into a false sense of security with Cal having his own version of a Hollywood Happy Ending, and the glorious twist of the cod liver oil (I'm not sure if this would damage or help the sales!).
But then FitzSimmons made the fatal mistake that so many fictional characters have made. The made dinner plans. Rookie mistake. Never ever make plans with your possible future partner. Never. God damn what the hell will Simmons become?
Anyway that finale was amazing. In the words of Cal 'Best day episodes ever'
The Inhumans and Cal
Whilst I'm sad to see the lost of many of them, I thought it played it pretty well. Much like with real life there are good people, bad people, good people with misguided intentions, neutral people and those torn between both impulses.
Jiaying used to be pure and good and then literally got torn apart by Whitehall and could never be the same again. Raina was truly good in the end, sad to see her go but it makes sense not just because of real life issues of Ruth getting a new show (can't wait for Preacher) but the problem with having a psychic character is that you can end up overly relying on them.
Gordon I will miss a lot because he had cool powers. I guess maybe Lincoln and the red hair lady could still be around and become part of the new superpowered team.
Cal deserves his own section because Cal is amazing and perfect and it was a lovely twist that he wasn't really a monster.
Skye: Our girl Skye, making the tough decisions, fighting against her mother figure and her actual mother. A hard time for our superhero but I think she has come out of this season matured and ready to be the leader powered people need.
Coulson: Can he get a cool metal hand now?
Ward: His storyline went where I wanted it to go. Full out supervillain. I immediately thought of The Evil League of Evil as he gathered his minions together.
Bobbi (and Hunter): I'm glad she stuck to her guns. I think if Kara had confronted her without the influence of Ward then Bobbi would have been sympathetic and genuinely apologise but she could see how Ward had twisted Kara and wouldn't give him the satisfaction.
FitzSimmons: Like I said DON'T MAKE DATE PLANS. OMG my darlings.
Mack: I’m glad Mack stuck around and I liked him working with Skye. Chekhov's axe!
Dichen was the best thing about Dollhouse (along with fellow MCU actor Enver Gjokaj). I'm really glad that Jed and Mo brought her into the fold, shame to lose her but hopefully she will get another great gig soon.
True.... but since she's the basically the AoS version of Margeto I was hoping she'd stick around a bit longer. God knows Erik always makes out in one piece...
Can't wait for Crossbones and Ward to team up... I mean I'm just hoping Frank Grilo has a contingency in his contract to show up on the shows too, not just the movies. Cause this set up? It just SCREAMS for him to pop up in AoS.
Wow, that was a season finale. THAT WAS AMAZING!!! It had everything; action, intensity, a lot of surprises and a few cliffhangers to leave us all desperate for Season 3 to come around. My heart was pounding so fast throughout the finale. Every character was involved which was great to see.
To clarify: I was NEVER a 'Anti-Warder' in fact I LOVE him as a 'villian' and thst just for TWO SHOWS in a row that I watch, the WRITERS are telling the story THEY WANT TO TELL.
Season 3 need new vfx coz we lost Gordon that New hand for Coulson will be great. And i like the all deaths from last episodes in Shield especially in Arrow what producers do with characters like Canary or Slade or Deadshot. That Deadshot death was kind of stupid thing about that actor do a great job with his character, mb Jiaying never come back again to the show(She is waiting for a child from March) she do a great job with 9 episodes in the show really love to watch that acting( What She do for one agent to see real gift "I'm so sorry")
Great episodes! My only let down is Ward's arc: I really thought he had a more subtler endgame (involving his family) rather than being a supervillain. If the writers wanted him go full-on evil they should have done that much earlier in the season. Other than that: great season finale.
WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRST YOU MAY HAVE RUINED WARD AND NOW YOU TRAP JEMMA IN THE STONE JUST WHEN LEO AND HER WERE GOING ON FREAKING DATE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That trick they did with Leo and the pipe scared the HELL out of me!!!! i lost my breath during that scene, Coulson getting his hand cut if was INSANE!!!!!! I wanted Philinda not Andrew!!!!!!
I really feel the same way and hoped that they would bring Ward back to the team. The producers said that everyone could be redeemed but I think the longer they keep him on the dark side, the less people will see him redeemable or would even care about that.
So, don´t cry and do as I do. Look at the characters as In Name Only versions of the season 1 characters and enjoy the complete different ride we are on. As much as you can.
What Hydra needs is a badass villain like Baron Zemo or Madame Hydra to rise it from the ashes. They have gravitas, they have presence!
When I think of Grant Ward I think of James Bond henchman villains like Donald "Red" Grant (From Russia With Love) or Stamper (Tomorrow Never Dies). Notice I don't even compare him to the really noteworthy ones like Oddjob or Jaws, that's on purpose, he doesn't remotely come close to them. And they expect me to believe that he'll be the next Ernst Stavro Blofeld for Hydra? Please!
Great episode. From the Avengers tie-in to the end has been awesome. Skye is actually starting to grow on me a bit. I was glad they gave Cal a way out of the crazy, he's been an endearing wild card of nuts and I liked him getting a second chance. Fitz is going to be heartbroken though and I don't want to see that again! I also don't want to see Simmons being mean--killing Bakshi was enough, she needs to get back on the flowers and puppy dogs train, but I fear that is not where she is going to end up once the rock lets her go. I love the team snarking at Ward, I don't want him to be supervillain, I just want him to be a punching bag 'cause of all the guys he's good at the hand-to-hand stunts. But I do appreciate villain scruff, so I'll put up with it. Hope they keep Lincoln next season,
You know, I may very well be slowly coming to agree with that. I had great expectations on the Ward family as a whole when they kept hinting about them in season 1, was really hoping Grant Ward would turn out to be the lesser monster of the family, Thomas removed, and he'd have to deal with his issues fighting against them. But no, what I got is a dumbed down Christian Ward crying for his life and killed offscreen along with their parents whom they didn't even bother to name! Worse, you'd think Christian wouldn't be so dumb as to not protect himself against his brother as the latter tried to kill him 15 years ago!
Yeah, I think it would work better if (assuming Hydra is still on the canvas next season, which seems to be the case), they won't make Ward the number one top dog but maybe a Bakshi-like lieutenant. As was the case in Season 1, he isn't part of Hydra out of ideology but out of convenience, so it doesn't make sense for him to lead.
I would actually like it a lot if Madam Hydra showed up next season. We haven't had a female Big Bad yet, unless you count Jiaying whose face heel turn was pretty last-minute.
Melinda May vs Daisy/Sky was a "sweet" opening fight, even if Daisy/Sky cheated.............a little! So is Daisy/Sky's mother part/half External (powerful immortal mutants ie: Candra, Selene, and Apocalypse)? Both Candra and Selene can consume the "lifeforce/essence" of their victims to heal, recover, regenerate, increase power(s), and maintain their immortality. There are no "Inhumans" with immortality near the same degree as Jaiying's nor the ability to consume "lifeforce/essence" either (not the Royal Family ie: Black Bolt, Medusa, etc). What I'm implying is that Jaiying could be half "Inhuman" and half "something else...............such as mutant and/or External. "Multiple Inhuman Girl" was pretty cool and who noticed the cameo by Michael Chaturantabut aka Chad Lee the "Blue Light Speed Rescue Power Ranger"? This episode was one "bad - ass" season finale that for some reason reminded me of Alphas (SyFy)! 4 THE CALVARY TO THE RESCUE, I am Nobody!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Chaturantabut http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candra_(comics) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selene_(comics)
I loved the episode but I hated that the writers mad Jiaying a full villain. Like that wasn't necessary. A war built on the fact neither side could trust each other and that they both feared each other would have been great. It would have been far more interesting and served the Civil War movie better, thats why there is a conflict in SHIELD. Not just make it easier for Shield to hate and view them all as evil. The writers took the easy way out. A genuine conflict would have been awesome, but the writers don't know how to make it a even fight, they just have to make SHIELD the heroes all the time.
Like wtf was up with Jiaying trying to kill Skye, her own daughter? That was so out of character - your trying to tell me a person who searched for her daughter for years, trained her daughter to control her powers, did genuinely care for her and her safety, who wanted her on her side just suddenly tries to kill her? They didnt even try to make it abundantly clear why she was doing it, they just made her a full villain and then killed her in one episode.
I'm sorry, I just can't shake off that it was just such crappy and cheap writing. The writers took every easy way out that they could.
I agree, the episode was amazing but the full-on demonizing of the Jiaying was far too much. Wanting to take down SHIELD to protect her people at any cost, fine, but to eliminate all humanity via the crystals and then murder her own freaking daughter when Skye tried to prevent that? There was zero build-up to that. And sure, you can always say she was crazy because of the trauma of Whitehall's torture, but that's a cheap out. So is making SHIELD the white hats in this siituation so blatantly. I'm disappointed that the character of Jiaying and the situation could've been so "grey" & complex and they weren't.
Oh My God!! What an amazing finale!! So much happened.
- I was sad that Jiaying turned out to be someone completely insane and full on villain. I had accepted Cal in that role. But she was worse and she even tried to kill her daughter. *sigh* Diechen Lachman is wonderful. - Cal was wonderful this episode. His transformation and his love for his daughter shined through the whole finale. I loved the last scene between him and Skye. I hope we see Mr. Hyde next season. - Skye gets a new team with powered people. Guess Lincoln will be a part of her team next season - Fitz/Simmons. They took 22 episodes for them to shyly ask each other out. And the next thing is Simmons gets sucked into alien artifact?? They just can't get a break can they? - I hate Ward so much now. I want him to die with so much pain. - Bobbi was awesome in her fight with Ward and protecting Hunter. Her withstanding torture and then beat the shit out of Ward was so satisfying to see even though she got caught later on. I hope next season they are done with Hunter/Bobbi dynamic. Either put them together or keep them apart. This push pull guilt thing is not that great. - Mac was bad ass this episode with that axe even though he didn't hurt anyone with it. Him knocking out Lincoln was very cool. - Coulson loosing an arm was such a big surprise. I guess we will get to see some cool mechanical hand next season. - May is taking a well deserved break. Skye fighting her in the beginning was hard to watch. But thank god they are in good terms by the end of the finale. - So terregen crystals are in fish oil pills now? So what everyone will die eating it?
This finale was beyond awesome. Season 2 AoS has exceeded my expectations to many many degree. I am so glad I did not give up on this show early last season. I will be eagerly awaiting the next season.
I don't even know where to start talking about this episode. It was insane. The only bad stuff from the finale was how far they went to demonize Jiaying. I understand she was a completely different person after what Whitehall did to her but some of the things that happened was totally unnecessary. Try to kill Skye, really? as crazy as she might gone that was too much. Lazy writting for a character with so much more potential. All to make sure Shield come off totally clean and as the heroes and making sure Skye stuck around.
Ward going full villain it was about damn time. I didn't think they would go there i'm glad they did. Ater the whole creepy torture thing with Bobbi there is just not turn around and nowhere to go for his character except dark. I want to see how he will lead Hydra.
Raina saving Skye was something i really never saw it coming. Its sad to see her go. She was always an amazing character. It was nice to see her coming to finalize accept herself and sacrifice her life for someone else.
Coulson losing a hand was jaw droping. No wonder they made such a big deal about Mack and his axe. Nobody saw that coming. Mack was awesome on this episode. Nice to see that he survive and will stick around.
After turning Jiaying into a totally crazy no heart person it was nice to see that at least they "saved" Cal. Too bad there was a price. Skye was never meant to be reunited with her family.
Skye leading secret Warriors? oh yeah!
Fitz: SCIENCE, BIATCHYY! lol
Please Jemma be ok. They set up a couple of amazing stuff for season 3. Its going to be a long break.
It looks like Cal wrapped up his role on the series. He kind of said goodbye on twitter. I get it. I would like for him to stick around but after the Tahiti protocol he won't remember a thing so bringing him back won't make much sense. Lincoln could and should come back. Now that Skye/daisy is taking care of what possible will become the secret warrior there is no reason not to have him join. They made sure he was around all this time and survived. They might as well actually introduce him properly.
That's the thing. The way they handle her there was no other way but for her to die. They could have handle her in a different way then maybe she could have survived but it seems they really want to wrap up Skye's biological parent storyline. Cal didn't die but with the Tahiti protocol it was basically a goodbye.
I said the reason behind Ward's actions would be stupid. To heal? I don't think Ward will last long as head of hydra. Not when his purpose is to revenge Kara. He is mad at SHIELD and once again SHIELD will kick his ass. Lets see how they handle villain Ward.
She will definetly transform. Into what we will have to wait to see. I doubt she will be the same Jemma. I need season 3 next week. Best way to end the season.
His situation was bad enough with the team before the finale but after what he did to Bobbi I don't see how they will redeem him. On the team he won't ever be again, thats just crazy. And you know will get a lot worse now that he is starting to put his team together with Hydra. He will do a lot of more bad stuff next season. He is full of hate toward SHIELD. All to revenge the girl he kill himself. She was on that situation because he put her on that path. He will go downhill.
Does anyone find it funny that they seem to like scenes of Ward battling females in the finale episodes? In the Season 1 finale, we got Ward vs. May; Season 2 finale, we got Ward vs. Bobbie. Is it too much to hope that we get a Ward vs. Skye battle in the Season 3 finale?
If they really don't want to waste our time they'll have this end by the winter finale. Because season 2B was all about Skye's rise as the hero Quake the storylines of everyone else were pretty much a drag and that couldn't be more evident as in Ward. He was absent in 6 out of the 7 first episodes of this half season and the payoff for those who wanted to see more of him was a storyline almost none of his fans really cared about and completely apart from the main one. I don't think I can endure a repeat of this for more than the first half of season 3.
Time will tell but i don't think villain Ward will last long. This should be a plot thing for just 2A. His reason would be weak even if he wasn't the one who end up killing Kara the fact he did himself is even worse and he is going against SHIELD. He hasn't win any battle against them. Or they will make a 180 degree turn for him or they will end up killing him on season 3 but he will definetly be on screen a lot more than he did this season.
Ward character was made to have his ass kicked by the woman on the show so i would definetly want to see Skye against him at some point. Should happen on season 3. He is supposed a super spy but couldn't beat May and needed Kara to put Bobbi down. Not super spy after all.
The irritation I have is that they talked about redemption (the show execs, etc) and said it'd be a long, hard road and to be patient. For those of us that liked Ward on the 'good guys' side, it was tough. He was barely in the show for most of the second season and I realized redemption was out a long time back and didn't watch most of the middle episodes. When he talked to Coulson on the phone and after that episode I began to think 'wow, maybe they are going to go for redemption'. Not. Seriously I get the 'screw you' feeling. And I would have felt a lot worse if I hadn't given up on it after his escape and following actions. It sucks but there it is. I think the handling of that character has been pretty awful all the way 'round. And yeah, there's definite trust problems with the showrunners because they said one thing and did another...definitely losing my fanish feelings for Joss Whedon. I wasn't too thrilled with the Avengers movie either. :(
Not to mention that Bobbi was fighting Kara and he simultaneously after being tortured, Ward and Kara should be embarrassed that they nearly got their asses handed to them.
The funny thing is, I wanted to have a Ward/Bobbi fight in the finale but until last week, I didn't see it happening (he seemed to be going on a mission with Coulson's team - gag - and then disappearing). Pretty cool that they gave us one after all, not ot mention it was one of the most badass fights on the show yet. I noticed that Bobbi used the same move she did last week against Kara on the Quinjet, doing a pull-up to give herself leverage and kicking her opponent with both legs - nice continuity.
I'm so eager to see what they do with Fitz and Simmons now. I'm just holding on to the hope that they'll be together from now on. Fitz will do anything to save her (so long as she's not dead), so hopefully the journey to watch that will be great.
I think, and Jeff Bell more or less confirmed it in one of his post-mortem interviews, that the Terrigen Mist in the fish oil is basically the show's small-scale version of a Terrigen Bomb. It's possible they'll kill people who take the pills, but I think it's more likely that Inhumans all over the world, who didn't even know they had dormant powers (like Skye), will transform. Hence a new problem for SHIELD, since some Inhumans will no doubt be bad, and a set-up for Civil War.
The episode was awesome, so many things happened, but let me a bitter sweet taste. Maybe for the way that they finished the story about Jiaying, the scene between her and Skye trying to kill each other, was to much. I don't know, but, ok, someone had to die, be the "villain", so I´ll move on. So now with Cal being a veterinarian, I think Fitz will have the dog than he wants. I don't really care about the story of Ward this season, but now I´m starting to think than the theories from him being a modified version of Hellfire (minus the skye ward thing) maybe are true and if Ward is inhuman so the theory from Lincoln being Thomas is not so crazy. My theory is that Ward think than Thomas is dead and that´s why he can´t really be in peace. Thomas is the only one than can help him. And when that happens, Ward will die. Only until this episode I could actually see Fiz simmons as a couple but then this thing absorbed to Simmons. I just hope that this will help strengthen the relationship. And poor Coulson, lost an arm, but that's better than losing LOLA, lol
Ok, now I feel free, I can be the person than I always have been, and I´m going to recover my life until the third season start, lol.
I never trusted Jaiying or the inhumans and I'm glad to know I was right all along, never thought she'd try to kill her own daughter though, that was real low. I'm glad Raina is dead but poor Skye she is going to have a very tough time after everything that's happened. The worst part was Jaiying asking Cal what he's doing. Are you serious?? You were just killing your daughter!! Cal is a real wacko though, WOW. But I felt a little (very little) bad for him. I also loved how unphased Coulson was by him and that they worked together. Who would've thought that Cal would be the nurturing parent, smh. They gave him a new memory :(
OH MY GOD are they going to kill all human kind now? And why didn't the fish die? Are they infish?! lol
Ugh Ward I hope you die a very painful death. I love Bobbi, my heart hurt for her but I was so proud of her. She was very strong and the girl got some moves. Guess I was half right about her using the needles to escape. By the way when Ward and 33 act all lovey dovey or call each other "baby" they make me want to throw up. I'm glad Kara is gone. I was so upset when Tripp died (still am) and Lance survived, but I'm REALLY enjoying his dynamic with Fitz and Coulson. And I ship him with Bobbi now. SO relieved that she's fine. Is Ward Hydra's director now?
I love Fitzsimmons whether as friends or a couple, I just love them together. Their talk was so adorable and they are finally going on a date. But of course they had to break our hearts and suck Jemma to that creepy slimy rock, sigh.
The woman who duplicates herself was really creepy. I agreed with Mack at that moment lol. Skye's fight with them so cool. I'm impressed that Chloe does most of the scenes herself. And he looked really scary with that axe. "Come on no eyes show yourself" lol. Phill "I hate this guy" I do too lol. Fitz "Science, byatch" hahaha. Glad to have you back on board Mack. I thought Fitz was the one who got skewered (I'm so sick of seeing my characters impaled :\ ) that was a nice save Phill, I can't believe Mack cut his arm!!! And now we know what's the thing Phill lost :(
I hope Luke becomes a regular next season.
May kicked a** as usual and I like her with her husband. She deserves a time off. And I hope she kills Ward one day.
That "real SHIELD" council really annoys me :\ but I felt bad for them tonight.
Lolaaaa hi baby, I was worried about you lol. Looking cool and beautiful as ever :D
I'm sorry to see Raina go, too. She was an interesting character who was genuinely evolving, and Ruth Negga played her well. I wonder how big a role, if any, the fact that Ruth was cast was in AMC's Preacher played in this decision.
Simmons, thankfully, is still around, as per the cast list for Season 3 and Elizabeth Henstridge's interview.
I'm sorry Cal is gone but I'm relieved it was via T.A.H.I.T.I. rather than death. I felt so sorry for him and he didn't deserve to die in the end. The fact that his happy ending came at the cost of no longer remembering Daisy is very bittersweet, and well-played on the show's part.
Yeah, Kara's death is darn weak as Ward's motivation, both considering that blaming SHIELD for it is a whole new level of ridiculous and considering how short-lived their relationship was. I've said before that I don't object to full-on villain Ward (as opposed to full-on redeemed Ward which I think would suck - unless he's far away from SHIELD when that happens), but only if he has a believable motivation. Sadly, that didn't happen. The Kara thing is a contrived and unconvincing new purpose for him.
You gotta love that Kara line: "I will always Stand With Ward, no matter what he does". Way to be meta and completely lay it on the line just how ridiculous and biased a large section of Ward's fandom is. (Not everyone, I acknowledge that there are intelligent & reasonable folks among them and I've enjoyed having discussions with those, but boy, ones like the original commentator can drive me bonkers).
Jeff Bell actually said almost those exact words (of course, certain people will say that it's just because "he hates Ward"... eyeroll). Ward will forever blame everyone - his family, Garrett, Hydra, SHIELD - for how much his life sucks... except himself.
It's funny that ow that they are setting up the secret warriors Ward (possible Hellfire) is taking a completely different turn. Not that Hellfire was a hero but should be interesting if his character is really based on him.
A lot of Ward's fans are wishing he was the one going through the TAHITI protocol today. It was a sad ending for him. He did kill Jiaying so Skye didn't have to do it. This show ususally wrap up the storylines in a positive way but it's never really happy endings. There always a stain on it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI love Ward and I can't stand to see them do this to him.
ReplyDeleteThat last scene though !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat. Was. That. What the ever lovin'.... Why? WHY? W.H.Y?
ReplyDeleteI'm shocked the ending wtf was that :o
ReplyDeleteMy sister thought the Stone was sentient, guess she was right.
ReplyDeleteWow! What the hell was that at the end
ReplyDeleteFirst Emma on Once Upon a Time and now Jemma JUST when Leo and Jemma were finally going out on a date!!!
ReplyDeleteFitz: There's nothing to discuss, Jemma.
ReplyDeleteSimmons: Maybe there is.
I'm going to need to focus on that to survive the hiatus.
I'm going to be thinking about that last scene until season 3 starts!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm calmer now. Until the end, that episode was everything I could've wanted. So good! Epic one liners... "That's why I stand with ward." So much shade! "Science, Biatch!" Mack with the ax! I can't wait to watch it again. But what a cliffie! Good golly!
ReplyDeleteJust what did you think the end game for Ward was going to be? Escape into the Sunset. There is no place he could go that Hydra or SHIELD or the Inhumans couldnt find him.
ReplyDeleteDoes the Stone doing that to Simmons mean that she has the Inhuman genes? As I only remember seeing it act like that around Inhumans
ReplyDeleteThe last scene the opposite of season 1 huh.....they aren't gong to kill a regular or ?
ReplyDeleteBravo!!! This is how it's done!! I'm so ready for Season 3!! I guess AoS haters will have to be really quiet right now! lol
ReplyDeleteBUT THAT LAST SCENE!!! nooo, why simmons? Guys, i want to hear what you guys thinf of that..will Simmons transform on something?? WTF was that??
Absolutely wonderful that is a season finale . The twists and turns ...the omg ending just fabulous
ReplyDeleteWe should all take a moment to recognize how incredible Dichen Lachman was this season. Jiaying was such a great anti-hero to the point where I was actually interested in Skye's story for the first time ever. Looking forward to Season 3!
ReplyDeleteJustin, what you think will happen with Simmons? My mouth is still on the floor lol
ReplyDeleteOk, I absolutely LOVED the season finally.
ReplyDeleteI just want to no what's going to happen with jemma?????
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to sleep tonight.
ReplyDeleteAlso: Despise BROWN leather jackets. Despise them...
ReplyDeleteIn the uk and it's 4am so can't watch til tomorrow, someone please just tell me ward isn't dead though right??!!!!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I can't see how they will redeem Ward now. Your right, Garrett won. Ward was too weak.
ReplyDeleteYou were however right about Jiaying.
Btw, best line of the season. " Science, biiioch"
Ward won't have to hide from Hydra, The Scene in the bar at the end makes it look like he is positioning to become one of the new heads
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm thinking. That or he is planning to take them down from the inside. I can never tell with him. That's why he's so much fun.
ReplyDeleteNo, but he may just be the new head of you know what. We shall see. But if that's the case, maybe he will make it into the movies.
ReplyDeleteWard isnt dead. I think they are positioning him to become the new head of Hydra.. or one of the heads. It will certainly make a change because from what AOS has shown us of Hydra its generally run by Scientists/Officials and rarely by someone who is 'just an agent'
ReplyDeleteBut why Simmons I'm still reeling was she inhuman? Jaiying did say the rock was made to destroy them and Phil losing a hand.
ReplyDeleteI have no words I think I'm going to need a few hours.
I am gonna diagree on the take them down from the inside part. I think he is gonna use them to seek revenge on shield for Kara's Death
ReplyDeleteSIMMONS!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE FRICK WAS THAT?!!!
ReplyDeleteWhats interesting is that for the Synopsis of Season 3 (which by the way was extremely dumbass to give out before the finale had aired) Ward is STILL a Principal cast member. I dont know if that means much anymore for AOS who lets be honest has thrown in a LOT of new characters season 2, and Im not sure if this means more or less screen time but it is what it is.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is either Simmons is Inhuman or the Stone is going to make Simmons a weapon to kill inhumans or use her as a host.
ReplyDeleteGood point ! Dichen Lachman did a great job this season ! She's amazing !
ReplyDeleteSorry but I don't have the chance to watch the show tonight... so Is Jiaying still alive ?
She's coming back in season 3 and Cal too ?
My roommates were asleep so I spent the entire last scene miming the words "SIMMONS!!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" Oh wow. The rest of the episode was good just a bit predictable, but that ending...WOW!!!! Cannot wait till next season
ReplyDeleteSo they are going to rehash Cal's motives. Remember he wanted to destroy SHIELD /Coulson too for taking his daughter away from him. Did Ward really in the space of a season last onto Kara that much?
ReplyDeleteI hope to god she comes back I don't care how but we need Liz on the show
ReplyDeleteI like your thinking. I think your latter point has merit. Its going to position her to be extremely effective against Inhumans.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you insist upon ending your shows with cliff hangers that hurt FitzSimmons. Why is it always one of these two who gets almost killed or taken. Not Simmons! First you brain damage Fitz in Season one finale now you take Simmons somewhere as they are getting close to each other again and actually talking to one another. Darn you writers. You break my heart.
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks guys I can sleep happy now!! Love him or hate him I find ward to be one of the more complex and interesting characters on the show :)
ReplyDeleteI am just thinking that based on how he focused on Kara's Picture after he got the other Hydra operatives to follow him
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering this too, because its for something inhuman..i wonder if she will transform on something..omg this will be a long wait
ReplyDeleteI Agree. Ward I also find a lot more interesting as the season progressed. He was basically a male May in the first season, and then since his deception has become a lot more interesting in season 2. And not in the mustache twirling villain kinda way.
ReplyDeleteAnd he is now more dangerous than ever..Now he has even more hate against SHIELD and will seek revenge..this is gonna end very badly for him
ReplyDeleteMission Accomplished. If they DIDNT break someones heart each season, then you could say they hadnt dont their job properly.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking my latter thinking is the most likely as I think the Stone sensed the crystals leeking into the ocean and it set off a reaction. It would only make sense that it would need hosts to kill the In-humans as it would need someway to move around.
ReplyDeleteYeah I dont ... well Ward dosnt ever seem to ... seethe with anger. He lets his actions speak for him normally but they never really seem to control him. I think a lot of those emotions were 'burned' outta him as a kid with his brother. Even when he killed his family, I still think he did it in a calm and collected manner.
ReplyDeleteand it latches on to someone who is already distrustful of people with powers (which is the inhumans). So it found an 'in' with Simmons.
ReplyDeleteEspecially if it's a Whedon production.
ReplyDeleteIf you liked her you might love her in Dollhouse.
ReplyDeleteThis was surely a great finale for fans of Coulson, May, Fitz, Simmons, Skye, Bobbi and Hunter.
ReplyDeleteAnd sorry, but I can't even take Grant Ward as the new head of HYDRA seriously. He's no Daniel Whitehall or even the horribly-wasted-by-the-MCU Baron Strucker, he lacks the much needed gravitas for the role. Henchman or hitman suits the character much more than Evil Genius.
I dont envy TV show writers esp in the age of Social real time media like this. They get crucified 2.2 seconds after an episode is aired
ReplyDeleteas I mentioned elsewhere , this is the first time I remember HYDRA not being headed by a Scientist. Strucker is about the closes thing they had before Ward.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Just WOW! The entire finale was incredible. They toyed with almost killing/pretending to kill basically every single major character. My heart was racing so hard at times. WOW!
ReplyDeleteI had a feelings they would mess with FitzSimmons-fans.
Isn't the whole point of that talk that there's no more active HYDRA heads for him to offer his services so he's restarting the organization?
ReplyDeleteNever thought they were going to redeem Ward with where they took him this season, but because im not invested in Kara and everything with them was largely off screen it's not very believable. Not that I hate where they are taking Ward really, just shows have trouble with proper development of motivations for angst these days.
ReplyDeleteAmazing finale. Just disappointed at the way they chose to end Jiaying's story. Man I really was hoping we would see more of her in season 3, that's the only reason I'm really bummed.
ReplyDeleteI kept telling my hubby that with this show being a Whedon production I am preparing myself for every single character to possibly die [or maybe die and then come back, or maybe be thought to be dead, or turn out completely evil....].
ReplyDeleteSorry for taking so long to reply, Thi86! I was writing my thoughts and I wrote A LOT haha. But yeah discussing Simmons, my first thought is that she will either turn Inhuman or some entity with powers. What do you think?
ReplyDeleteWell Ward's already happened so 2/3.
ReplyDeleteYou'll come back. They always do ;)
ReplyDeleteBrett Dalton and Chloe Bennett were two of the most underused/dull characters in the beginning of the series and now they play two of the most interesting characters on the show!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea where they are going with the Grant Ward story (whether he becomes the head of Hydra or what) but I will enjoy the ride for as long as they feel it is necessary to tell his story!
ReplyDeleteThere were so many twists and turns throughout the finale my head was spinning!! What a phenomenal finale.
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap! I gasped at so many moments.
ReplyDeleteI've only seen Dichen on Shameless and The 100, but here, she made me respect her as an actor so much. She was absolutely spectacular in her role.
ReplyDeleteOmg can't watch until next week can someone tell me the 3 people who dies, what happened to simmons, mack, ward and raina???
ReplyDeleteI agree. But he can always have scientists working for him. What Hydra needs is what Grant is.. a survivor.
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly! I screamed so loudly at that final scene for a few seconds after the screen went to black. I can't wait to see what Mo, Jed, and Jeff have in store for Jemma next season.
ReplyDeleteI feel like she was too far gone for her to survive. Once she started to invade the Iliad, I immediately knew that she wasn't long for this world.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling Ward is going to round up a whole bunch of "misfits" and make his own band just like Cal did, and he'll go after SHIELD. He reminds me of the villain in Will Smith's "Hancock", with his whole "closure" schtick.
ReplyDeleteJust needed to say Fitz's it's science biatch comment was everything. Super hilarious.
ReplyDeleteYeah, she went too far.
ReplyDeletePoor Strucker, never have I been more deflated by a villain's demise, than him. It actually hurt.
ReplyDeletePERFECT SERIES. PERFECT CAST. PERFECT SEASON FINALE. OMG! Season 3, where are you? hahaha.
ReplyDeleteI have been saying how useless Ward is all season. He's a co-dependent that has no direction unless he attaches himself to someone, anyone, to give his sad life purpose.
ReplyDeleteawful... poor... come on. BEST SEASON FINALE EVER!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteInstead of FitzSimmons, we now have JemmaStone. (Trying to mask my pain with awkward humor.)
ReplyDeleteI'm very familiar with her work in Dollhouse :)
ReplyDeleteThey could of given him something better to do in the rinale though, he really poorly used in the second half. I don't mind where they are taking him, but they used terrible writing getting him there.
ReplyDeleteBest of the best of the best comic book television show finales EVER!
ReplyDeleteI cried when Raina died, I loved her!
ReplyDeleteI nominate Skye's mother and father as Parents Of The Year. No wonder their daughter shakes, rattles and rolls.
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSimmons can't be weapon against inhumans. I like them both.
I rarely give out an awesome. But this time around awesome isn't even enough. They had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
ReplyDeleteIt's more like Bobbi said there's no end for someone like Ward, there's always someone else to shift the blame of his unhappiness to. This instance he latched onto Kara like he did Skye and again Shield got in his way of getting the girl.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit.. I can't even process all the awesomeness that just happened... all I know is this is going to be a long summer!!
ReplyDeleteI was just getting ready to turn the tv off and then BAM!!! All I did was gasp because of people sleeping but GAH!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome, awesome finale!!!
ReplyDeleteBobbi is my She-ro!!
Anyway, it was a great 2-hr finale!!
OMG. for some reason i couldnt stop lauging when Mack cut off Coulson's hand, i repeated the scene like 5 times and everytime I laughed like a maniac.
ReplyDeleteThat was some great season finale. At first i liked how they were all in diferent places.
And then....
OMG. THEY DO NOT. WHAT. I CANT EVEN . WTH. WHAT?
Another line I loved! I also loved when Mack told Coulson "batter up, Director." Haha!
ReplyDeleteThey left us hagging with Fitz, now It's Simmons turn. Season 3 will be both D:
ReplyDeletei laughed. I''ll admit it. Now im crying.
ReplyDeleteWhat nonsense are they doing with Ward?.
ReplyDelete- The thing I want to state at the outset, is that Jiaying was not wrong. Once the Inhumans go on the list, they're doomed. Someone is going to use that list against them.
ReplyDelete- Raina is dead.
ReplyDeleteDamn Whitehall for leading Jaiying in the path of hatred.
I don't think it will do anything to her, but I think it does reveal her as a potential.
ReplyDeleteI loved to the ENTIRE episode had me on the edge of my seat like this is what I expected from Marvel I loved this season finale it's gonna be hard to Sleep
ReplyDeleteAll I have to say is that was EPIC,
ReplyDeleteThey teased about going full Secret Avengers and Skye is going to lead it.
ReplyDeleteSimmons can't be dead...she just inside the damn stone.....the real question is who let the door open? poor Fitz he probably think Simmons decide to not go to dinner and that tear their relationship again
ReplyDeleteI think because the fish oil only have the mist in it, no one will die but inhumans will transform if they take it.
ReplyDeleteGordon said the black stone/liquid thing was lethal to inhumans so if Simmons is inhuman she would probably die but idk
ReplyDeleteBut she's not Inhuman yet. If she is from the bloodlines, then she's just a potential right now.
ReplyDeleteThat's fine. Too much change will effect the whole MCU. I also hope that plot device doesn't lead the show in to a powered case of the week.
ReplyDeletePoor Fitz will kick his own butt when he realizes he opened the door.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode!
ReplyDeleteSkye got to drive Lola! The group she will lead sounds like Secret Warriors. Poor FitzSimmons. I'm guessing Simmons might end up possessed by the Kree stone. The hiatus will be long.
I don't think it's going to be a powered case of the week otherwise they would have made a spinoff with Skye gathering inhumans
ReplyDeleteYeah maybe it just sucks that we have to wait 3 months to find out what reallt happened
ReplyDeleteWhy wasn't that damn door locked?!?!?! If anything should require a passcode to enter, or a key, or at least some measure of security beyond a damn latch, it's the mystery alien weapon. C'MON NOW.
ReplyDeleteCan't FitzSimmons have a break? ONE FINALE. I JUST WANT ONE TO BE NICE.
Fitz for sure. It just seems sloppy to me that the door could be opened by mistake though.
ReplyDeleteYea that's what I suspect too, Kind of glad the spin off didn't start up.
ReplyDeleteI agree. When Mack was all "Nobody opens that thing" I figured that box was sealed shut. Maybe somebody tampered with it unknowingly?
ReplyDeleteThis article just made my summer SO much easier: http://www.ew.com/article/2015/05/12/agents-shield-season2-finale-simmons
ReplyDelete"Boyfriend" Fitz to the rescue! If that actually happens, I'm going to be on cloud 9.
I'm sure they'll try to explain it, but I'm not buying it. That thing should require a Fury and Coulson retina scan to get in!
ReplyDeleteWhich is even more frightening that he'd be so calm and controlled about burning down his family.
ReplyDeletePretty much. i said the same thing, only this won't be Cal's pathetic band of misfits. They are going to want him to be more formidable or else why go there again?
ReplyDeleteI think the Hydra arc, in the movies, is nearing an end as they prepare for Thanos. It may still be in Civil War but I doubt it will go beyond that.
ReplyDeleteExactly. I dont think we will ever get to see Grant explode with Rage. Thats just not him anymore. But yeah hes certainly twisted, but in some strange way I think his family had it coming. They sounded really f----d up.
ReplyDeleteThey were messed up but their murder by arson doesn't warm the cockles of my heart.
ReplyDeleteAbout Jiaying being a villain, those who were suspicious about her actions were right. Since it is part of story, we have to deal with it.
ReplyDeleteMb Simmons after that accident receive some powers to find inhumans(She is scientist) deactivate inhuman powers and imprison like it's on Flash they do and index peoples with powers.
ReplyDeleteAnd talking about kills on the final episode. Guys what are you thinking about Jiaying she is really dead or she can regenerate because of crystals in Ocean and after that she became really crazy and Simmons can help to Jiaying lose power and be a human,Skye finally get her family back.
Ironically, his own action led to Kara's death. He seems unwilling to take blame on himself.
ReplyDeleteI always worry when a season finale wraps everything up with 5 mins to spare. Then they lured me into a false sense of security with Cal having his own version of a Hollywood Happy Ending, and the glorious twist of the cod liver oil (I'm not sure if this would damage or help the sales!).
ReplyDeleteBut then FitzSimmons made the fatal mistake that so many fictional characters have made.
Basically that was excellent and I need S3 now.
Dichen was the best thing about Dollhouse (along with fellow MCU actor Enver Gjokaj). I'm really glad that Jed and Mo brought her into the fold, shame to lose her but hopefully she will get another great gig soon.
ReplyDeleteThat was interesting... good, not perfect, but it tied up the season quite nicely...
ReplyDeleteIt was good but they ruined Ward even more than I thought they could. At least I know I won't be dropping it now, I'll be giving S3 try.
ReplyDeleteRest assured Skye will use her real name.
ReplyDeleteTrue.... but since she's the basically the AoS version of Margeto I was hoping she'd stick around a bit longer. God knows Erik always makes out in one piece...
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Crossbones and Ward to team up...
ReplyDeleteI mean I'm just hoping Frank Grilo has a contingency in his contract to show up on the shows too, not just the movies.
ReplyDeleteNow the long wait till Season 3 *sad sigh*
To clarify: I was NEVER a 'Anti-Warder' in fact I LOVE him as a 'villian' and thst just for TWO SHOWS in a row that I watch, the WRITERS are telling the story THEY WANT TO TELL.
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 need new vfx coz we lost Gordon that New hand for Coulson will be great.
ReplyDeleteAnd i like the all deaths from last episodes in Shield especially in Arrow what producers do with characters like Canary or Slade or Deadshot. That Deadshot death was kind of stupid thing about that actor do a great job with his character, mb Jiaying never come back again to the show(She is waiting for a child from March) she do a great job with 9 episodes in the show really love to watch that acting( What She do for one agent to see real gift "I'm so sorry")
Awesome finale! Interesting that now we have all that.
ReplyDeleteAnd again i would like to write that i'm glad Gonzales died, he was a hypocrite.
May 2 Ward 0
ReplyDeleteDude, never forget Enver as Topher. That was incredible acting.
ReplyDeleteTo this day I'm still amazed by it.
ReplyDeleteGreat episodes! My only let down is Ward's arc: I really thought he had a more subtler endgame (involving his family) rather than being a supervillain. If the writers wanted him go full-on evil they should have done that much earlier in the season. Other than that: great season finale.
ReplyDeleteWHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCaterpillar?
ReplyDeleteSomeone had a crazy theory that the Stone will turn her into an Inhuman Hunter, and i don't want that!!!
ReplyDeleteEmphasis on "Director", did you notice?
ReplyDeleteNo she only said it because it's Cal, she's still Skye and people need to respect that.
ReplyDeleteGinger Ninja (LOL) was a loyal follower of Jiaying like Gordon, so doubt it.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget, Deadshot was killed and with him the Suicide Squad was taken off the DC TV Universe because of the DC MOVIE Universe.
ReplyDeleteLoved it...best finale so far!! Other shows finales this year have been a bit boring......see you next season for sure 👍😊📺
ReplyDeleteI really feel the same way and hoped that they would bring Ward back to the team. The producers said that everyone could be redeemed but I think the longer they keep him on the dark side, the less people will see him redeemable or would even care about that.
ReplyDeleteSo, don´t cry and do as I do. Look at the characters as In Name Only versions of the season 1 characters and enjoy the complete different ride we are on. As much as you can.
What Hydra needs is a badass villain like Baron Zemo or Madame Hydra to rise it from the ashes. They have gravitas, they have presence!
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of Grant Ward I think of James Bond henchman villains like Donald "Red" Grant (From Russia With Love) or Stamper (Tomorrow Never Dies). Notice I don't even compare him to the really noteworthy ones like Oddjob or Jaws, that's on purpose, he doesn't remotely come close to them. And they expect me to believe that he'll be the next Ernst Stavro Blofeld for Hydra? Please!
nope he is alive and well
ReplyDeleteGreat episode. Hope they keep Lincoln next season,
ReplyDeleteYou know, I may very well be slowly coming to agree with that.
ReplyDelete4 (!) people died: Raina, Kara, Gordon and Jiaying.
ReplyDeleteWard is the new leader of Hydra, or at least a faction of Hydra, and is recruiting people to his cause.
Mack is back in SHIELD and in charge of alien artifacts.
Simmons got sucked into the Kree stone at the very end. We don't know what happened to her.
awesome but now I know Philinda will NEVER happen. At least May is happy with Andrew. I am glad, She needs happyness. RIP my OTP.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think it would work better if (assuming Hydra is still on the canvas next season, which seems to be the case), they won't make Ward the number one top dog but maybe a Bakshi-like lieutenant. As was the case in Season 1, he isn't part of Hydra out of ideology but out of convenience, so it doesn't make sense for him to lead.
ReplyDeleteI would actually like it a lot if Madam Hydra showed up next season. We haven't had a female Big Bad yet, unless you count Jiaying whose face heel turn was pretty last-minute.
you are quitting AOS?! Oh...
ReplyDeleteJiaying, from the looks of it, is dead. Cal is alive, but it doesn't seem like he'll come back (sadly).
ReplyDeleteIncredible episode! Loved every minute of it and DAT ENDING!! Ward is the best villain in the MCU. Hope he gets more and more dastardly.
ReplyDeleteMelinda May vs Daisy/Sky was a "sweet" opening fight, even if Daisy/Sky cheated.............a little!
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Chaturantabut
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candra_(comics)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selene_(comics)
Well, they got away with the "let's talk later" line, so they most likely got overconfident.
ReplyDeleteI loved the episode but I hated that the writers mad Jiaying a full villain. Like that wasn't necessary. A war built on the fact neither side could trust each other and that they both feared each other would have been great. It would have been far more interesting and served the Civil War movie better, thats why there is a conflict in SHIELD. Not just make it easier for Shield to hate and view them all as evil.
ReplyDeleteThe writers took the easy way out.
ReplyDeleteI'M SO NOT OK!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be awesome..
ReplyDeleteOh My God!! What an amazing finale!! So much happened.
ReplyDelete- I was sad that Jiaying turned out to be someone completely insane and full on villain.
Guess Lincoln will be a part of her team next season
- Fitz/Simmons.
Awesome Awesome Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't even know where to start talking about this episode. It was insane.
ReplyDeleteThe only bad stuff from the finale was how far they went to demonize Jiaying.
I think both will happen. Some people will end up dying and some will change. They will have to deal with it.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Cal wrapped up his role on the series.
ReplyDeleteThat's the thing. The way they handle her there was no other way but for her to die. They could have handle her in a different way then maybe she could have survived but it seems they really want to wrap up Skye's biological parent storyline. Cal didn't die but with the Tahiti protocol it was basically a goodbye.
ReplyDeleteI said the reason behind Ward's actions would be stupid. To heal? I don't think Ward will last long as head of hydra. Not when his purpose is to revenge Kara. He is mad at SHIELD and once again SHIELD will kick his ass. Lets see how they handle villain Ward.
ReplyDeleteShe will definetly transform. Into what we will have to wait to see. I doubt she will be the same Jemma. I need season 3 next week. Best way to end the season.
ReplyDeleteImagine that? Simmons having the power to kill all the inhumans. Damn!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for season 3, hoping to see Lincoln. Didn't like Kal but enjoyed his character in this episode.
ReplyDeleteHis situation was bad enough with the team before the finale but after what he did to Bobbi I don't see how they will redeem him.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone find it funny that they seem to like scenes of Ward battling females in the finale episodes? In the Season 1 finale, we got Ward vs. May; Season 2 finale, we got Ward vs. Bobbie. Is it too much to hope that we get a Ward vs. Skye battle in the Season 3 finale?
ReplyDeleteIf they really don't want to waste our time they'll have this end by the winter finale.
ReplyDeleteCurse you Kree stone!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat would be epic, Ward wouldn't stand a chance against Quake.
ReplyDeleteand who says fish oil is good for you?
ReplyDeleteso many endings, and every single one perfect, Sky's father's new life, the fish oil one, and the best one at the very end.
A truly awesome and kick ass finale! But... Jemma... please be okay...
ReplyDeleteScience, biatch .... Best.Line.Ever
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, this was so intense and SO GOOD.
ReplyDeleteTime will tell but i don't think villain Ward will last long.
ReplyDeleteWard character was made to have his ass kicked by the woman on the show so i would definetly want to see Skye against him at some point. Should happen on season 3. He is supposed a super spy but couldn't beat May and needed Kara to put Bobbi down. Not super spy after all.
ReplyDeleteThe irritation I have is that they talked about redemption (the show execs, etc) and said it'd be a long, hard road and to be patient. :(
ReplyDeleteNot to mention that Bobbi was fighting Kara and he simultaneously after being tortured, Ward and Kara should be embarrassed that they nearly got their asses handed to them.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is, I wanted to have a Ward/Bobbi fight in the finale but until last week, I didn't see it happening (he seemed to be going on a mission with Coulson's team - gag - and then disappearing). Pretty cool that they gave us one after all, not ot mention it was one of the most badass fights on the show yet. I noticed that Bobbi used the same move she did last week against Kara on the Quinjet, doing a pull-up to give herself leverage and kicking her opponent with both legs - nice continuity.
ReplyDeleteI'm so eager to see what they do with Fitz and Simmons now. I'm just holding on to the hope that they'll be together from now on. Fitz will do anything to save her (so long as she's not dead), so hopefully the journey to watch that will be great.
ReplyDeleteOh I thought it was just 3 people that died I like raina :(. And simmons hopefully she's still in next season. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteI think, and Jeff Bell more or less confirmed it in one of his post-mortem interviews, that the Terrigen Mist in the fish oil is basically the show's small-scale version of a Terrigen Bomb. It's possible they'll kill people who take the pills, but I think it's more likely that Inhumans all over the world, who didn't even know they had dormant powers (like Skye), will transform. Hence a new problem for SHIELD, since some Inhumans will no doubt be bad, and a set-up for Civil War.
ReplyDeleteThe episode was awesome, so many things happened, but let me a bitter sweet taste.
ReplyDeleteI don't really care about the story of Ward this season, but now I´m starting to think than the theories from him being a modified version of Hellfire (minus the skye ward thing) maybe are true and if Ward is inhuman so the theory from Lincoln being Thomas is not so crazy.
They gave him a new memory :(
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD are they going to kill all human kind now?
ReplyDeleteSimmons, thankfully, is still around, as per the cast list for Season 3 and Elizabeth Henstridge's interview.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Kara's death is darn weak as Ward's motivation, both considering that blaming SHIELD for it is a whole new level of ridiculous and considering how short-lived their relationship was.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta love that Kara line: "I will always Stand With Ward, no matter what he does".
ReplyDeleteJeff Bell actually said almost those exact words (of course, certain people will say that it's just because "he hates Ward"... eyeroll). Ward will forever blame everyone - his family, Garrett, Hydra, SHIELD - for how much his life sucks... except himself.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who is, somehow, still a Ward fan that made the scene extra sad for me.
ReplyDeleteAnd the use of the word "treatment" in that scene...He tries to be his best. Ugh. They really nailed us with emotion in those final scenes.
It's funny that ow that they are setting up the secret warriors Ward (possible Hellfire) is taking a completely different turn. Not that Hellfire was a hero but should be interesting if his character is really based on him.
ReplyDeleteA lot of Ward's fans are wishing he was the one going through the TAHITI protocol today. It was a sad ending for him. He did kill Jiaying so Skye didn't have to do it. This show ususally wrap up the storylines in a positive way but it's never really happy endings. There always a stain on it.
