Was it just me or did Severide turn into a huge jerk in this episode? I know that Otis is annoying, but geez. I was totally cheering for Casey and truck in this episode!
Well, my take was that Otis was a jerk. :) I guess it's a matter of interpretation. He doesn't really have any other proof than his "gut instinct" and that's a little too little to ruin another man's career.
Severide, I think, was trying to remain a friend to Rice, while he should have taken his job as a lieutenant more seriously sooner. This is not sandbox. His reactions were immature, but I (personally) get him. Rice is (well, was) the last friend he's got. Now, after their little quarrel, he's got no one. That's a little sad, come to think of it.
I don't think Severide was a jerk at all...he was not cautious during the situation, in fact he ended up asking Rice. He is a lieuteniant but also a friend of Rice. In fact the ep ended up with Rice getting offended by Severide. It seemed that although Rice was the issue, Severide became the centre of everything: Otis and Cruz, then Casey pulling the Darden card (which if I were Sev I would reacted way more...come on that was very insensitive Casey!) And in the end Rice... I am biased in favour of Sev I admit, I love him, and I do think that Rice is the guilty one here...but Otis is a blabber and in the Molly's scene he acted as a huge jerk.
As of next week's ep, I read that someone will not make it out alive...does this mean that either Sev or Dawson are going to die?? I can't deal with another CF/CPD death HONESTLY!!
I'm pretty sure that Severide and Dawson are safe. Kind of think that Boden is safe too, because of reasons. There was Cruz's name dropped in some previews or interviews, can't remember where, so if anyone's at risk it might be him. But then... I also heard that no one dies. I hope the cliffhanger doesn't involve some (three? four?) of them remaining trapped in the building, because that would be so last season...
They really upped the stakes with Shay's death, didn't they? Now we are all on the edge of our seats. :) I also saw a tweet from one of the producers that no one dies in the finale (that the death Olmstead was talking about was Nadia's). But then, that doesn't mean that there won't be a death at the beginning of next season, as a direct result of what happens in the finale. Oh, well... I am still pretty sure it won't be any from the main four (Severide, Casey, Dawson, Boden).
I don't like the tension between Severide and Otis. Severide seems to be mad at something this season, now I'm trying to catch up on the series and I'm only on season 2 but what's going on with them that caused so much tension.
Kelly's so sexy when he's pissed though so is Matt.
I read that too and then a few weeks later, in an interview after Nadia's death, Olmstead said (I believe it was him) no one else was going to die on either show. I wonder if that scene in the preview is the beginning of the episode and Severide realizes Rice is shady and tells him to leave. The rest of the episode will probably focus on the Casey thing and there is a huge thing that happens with Dawson at the very end.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Loved it and Severide better not die

ReplyDeleteTaylor kinney said no one will die but then again I read an interview with Matt Olmstead who said that not everyone makes it out
