To be honest, Battle Creek was my most favorite CBS drama out of this season. I've stuck with Stalker all year long but BC really did a wonderful job. Phenomenal cast and acting, great story, and it was complete in basically all aspects. Only wished it got better ratings and a better timeslot or else it would have made a great show for years. This should definitely get shopped to another network, I'd give it a thumbs up.
Great episode to end the series on. I'm glad we found out more about Milt, and that Russ and Milt got to be a bit more open with each other and admit that they are partners and kinda friends. We also got nice little moments from all the other supporting and recurring characters too. And we got a follow up on the Russ/Holly thing too so we know that's resolved at least in the context of the show. ... I would have loved for the show to continue, but it works like a nice little contained & complete 13 episode series, and I can live with that. I'll still miss it though!
Cannot bear the thought of no more Russ and Milt. This show just stole me and then deserted me - I hate that it was cancelled - great cast and fun stories and execution. A real loss..
I think they should have premiered it in the fall and give it a fighting chance to possibly grow, instead of sticking it to mid season and using it as burn off.
It did have all the elements that would attract your usual CBS audience, plus some extra points for making it more character driven... Oh well... woulda shoulda coulda....
So sorry to see this show end. I hope another network sees the potential and picks it up. Great story, fantastic cast. The finale was truly excellent but it left me wanting Season 2!
Can I also take a moment to gush over the House alumni that popped up in the show throughout the season, getting to end with the always great Robert Sean Leonard...
I'm really going to miss it. :( It was so nice having a show set in Michigan and NOT in LA or NY for once! I was hoping for one more cute scene between Russ and Holly in this episode, but oh well.
That was one of the bettter finales of the year. I love how Russ and Milt ended on better terms and I could see Russ trusting Milt more in the future. I'm sad to see this show go since it has been such fun.
Best show to come out of CBS since Person Of Interest. Sad to see it go, really. The finale was incredible. Although, when you get a chance to kill the person who've been looking for, for years, always go for the head! :D
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
PHE-NO-MEN-AL. Absolutely incredible. Stellar acting, amazing story, beautiful directing. We must #SaveBattleCreek.
ReplyDeleteWell that's one way to end a series.

Yes, all of this. Love Stalker, but Battle Creek grabbed at my heart and didn't let go.

ReplyDeleteThis show was good. It would have worked really well as a summer show.

Agreed! They would have had a much better chance if it was scheduled in the fall.
