  1. A slow episode overall but it had some good moments and a great ending, and the finale looks great!

  2. Ugh Romero and Norma just kill me every week! I thought they might of had a possible hook up by the end of this season but ugh now I don't know. Still can't stand Bradley and I am glad she will be gone forever. Loved the cop who was asking Romero all those questions!

  3. I really have no idea how the season finale is going down but I am guessing something bad is going to happen since this is Bates Motel after all. It makes me wonder how the hell Norman is getting out of this. He really needs help and there is only so long before people start taking notice. And at this point even though she makes mistakes, I feel so sorry for Norma Bates.

  4. This show is amazing. No matter how crazy it gets, I just want more episodes. Loved tonight's episode, it REALLY showed us how messed up the family is :-)

I wish Norma and Romero would actually kiss soon! But between the two of them, I'd say this was progress... It was a twisted moment, but a moment never the less.

These are my thoughts as well *Nods*. I'm so sad that next week's the last episode of the season already!
I also agree on Norma and Romero-though that "almost kiss" tonight was pretty damn hot in and of itself. Like you said, twisted moment between them, but a much-needed one. Something needed to break in that dam between them, and I'm glad they were able to release at least some of their pent up frustrations.
Curious where Caleb's going to wander off to-and if he'll even make it out to start his journey. I don't blame him for wanting to get the hell out-after what he did to that guy, he should get away...and look over his shoulder every once in a while, just to be safe.
And awwww at Dylan achieving his goal for Emma. I REALLY hope that part of this whole crazy story works out okay. There should be at least one good thing happening to somebody!
As for Norman...mmkay, that ending? And him telling his mom that she was the first thing he thought about when he woke and the last thing he thought about when he went to bed (HELLO, deeply uncomfortable moment!)? Yeeeeeeeeeeeah. Batten down the hatches, everyone.
I can't even begin to imagine how they'll wrap this season up, but I am looking so forward to seeing what happens.

  6. So Caleb is hitting the road leaving Dylan with the whole package that's a curious way to protect him...

  7. CRAZY. ...... yup, that about says it all on Bates Motel ! lol

    • Bradley, will she be TRUELY dead ?
    • Caleb - please leave town For Real ......... you being there is good for No One
    • Dylan handing over the money - w the stipulation : Don't tell Emma ( so very sweet ), awwww puppy love is just too cute
    • Norma: ▪ Woman you are Mayor of Crazy Town(!)
    ▪ "what are you 12" police station confrontation Tooooooooo Funny
    ▪ cleaning out Norman's Dungeon of Fur
    ▪ giving the world a verbal lashing whilst filling in The Pit
♡♡▪ Norma vs Romero ............. : O the sexual tension is excruciating; both too proud n too vulnerable to give in regardless of how much they care about the other - TPTB are gonna make us wait forever to see that come to fruition!

Can't believe it's already time for the SEASON FINALE ........ went by so fast - where did the time go? Too bad the hiatus doesn't go as fast as the seasons do ! Wonder how TPTB will end this season -what cliff hangers will we be stressing over till next year ?!?

  8. Haha "deeply uncomfortable moment" Indeed!
That's how I've felt about many a Norman/Norma moment lately. And the way he touched her in the cellar... It made my creepometer go sky high.
Not to mention the moments with imaginary Norma.

I think Dylan and Emma are super adorable. And I have a feeling they might be the only normal couple we'll ever see on this show :-)

I've been wanting Norma and Romero together from season 1. And there definitely is progress. But with Norma's need to protect Norman and her ability to always get in trouble, I fear relations with a cop will get very complicated. However, that only means more drama for us to watch :-)

  9. I agree with all of this. I am not a shipper, I think it ruins shows, but Norma and Romero are the exception. I thought the scene in his house was crazy in a good way, passionate and hot.

I also hope Emma actually gets her transplant thanks to Dylan and it all works out without some horrible consequence. It seems like bad juju to buy a lung transplant with illegal gun money though so things probably won't turn out well for someone (I fear for Emma's dad).

I think it makes sense for Caleb to get out of town but I fear this may put Dylan in even more danger. I think I am one of the few who actually liked Caleb's presence on the show. I think Kenny Johnson was perfectly cast as Dylan's dad and has done a fabulous job portraying a deeply flawed human trying to make amends.

Is Bradley now dead? Was she just killed by Norman/ imaginary Norma? Bad things seem to happen when imaginary Norma surfaces. I won't be heartbroken by Bradley's death.

I'm glad Norma got rid of Norman's 'serial killer in training' basement of dead animals.

As always, I could watch an entire show of just Norma antics and be entertained.

  10. Yeah, I definitely get that. I have pairings I like on my favorite shows, and if they become canon, great! But if they don't, I'm okay with that, too. Shipping can be a fun side activity for fans who are into that sort of thing, but some people can definitely take it to a really obnoxious extreme.

But yeah, whether Norma and Romero actually pull the trigger on this romantic dance of theirs or not, their chemistry is undeniable and their scenes together are always fantastic. The biggest reason I'd be hesitant for Romero to actually finally wind up with her is because that'd just add to me worrying about his fate :p! And I already worry enough about anyone who hangs around the Bates family for any length of time, LOL!

It seems like bad juju to buy a lung transplant with illegal gun money though so things probably won't turn out well for someone (I fear for Emma's dad).

This is very true. Excellent point. And ohhhhh, that would make me sad if something happened to Emma's dad. We've only seen him a little bit here and there, but I like him. And I like Emma, and I would feel for her if she lost her father so tragically. To say nothing of how that would not help her health crisis one bit.

Oh, yeah, I liked Caleb, too, shady and skeevy though his past was, for the very reasons you note :). And agreed on Johnson's acting, too-that's the great thing about this show, these characters are all horribly messed up at best, downright scary/creepy at worst...and yet all these actors still manage to make us feel some level of sympathy for them and actually care about what happens to them, even root for them.

For his own safety's sake, though, I don't blame him for being like, "Yeah, I should probably go somewhere far, far, FAR away from here." Your concern about that backfiring on Dylan is valid, though, definitely. I think everyone's REALLY scared about something bad happening to poor Dylan, and I don't blame them. He's trying to clean up everyone's messes and help people, but eventually he's going to walk right into a situation he shouldn't be getting involved in and the end result won't be pretty.

I dunno what'll happen to Bradley! It's not looking good for her, though, no. I didn't mind her, personally, but in the grand scheme of things it's clear her time in this town wasn't meant to last. I did feel for her in last night's episode, when she's going through her house and seeing how her mom just revamped everything so there was no trace of her daughter left. That's cold.

Haha, yeah, so am I. Nothing against people who do taxidermy for a living, of course, there's clearly a market for it and whatnot, but in Norman's case...yeah, Norma's right to be freaked out by his interest in this particular hobby :p. I liked that scene, with her desperately trying to rid the room of anything "creepy" in relation to Norman. I love the way the show handles her dilemma of wanting to believe in her son and think the best of him while trying to come to terms with the fact that there is something very, VERY wrong with him.

As always, I could watch an entire show of just Norma antics and be entertained.
You and me both :D. She's a great character.

  11. And the way he touched her in the cellar... It made my creepometer go sky high.

Ohhhhhhh, god, yes. I'm losing count of how many times their interactions have me raising my eyebrows and squirming in my seat.

And the imaginary conversation at the end was just beyond disturbing. Particularly the moment where he imagined Norma's response to his (near) sexual encounter with Bradley just a few moments earlier. He kept imagining Norma looking at him with this kinda flirty/jealous expression, to the point where I seriously expected "Norma" to offer her, um, help in teaching him how to be intimate with a woman. Which, eek.

I very much like Dylan and Emma together, too :). And ha, indeed, they are normal, and stable...they're the voice of reason in the midst of all this craziness :p.

Yay for progress :D! Yeah, I've liked their interaction for quite some time, too, so it's nice to see them moving ever closer. But yes, unfortunately Norman is the nasty little wrench standing in their way and messing things up.

Still, that makes their attempts to work through that mess all the more interesting, as you note, and this show knows how to bring the drama, so yeah. Win-win all around :D.

Incidentally, for anyone out there who likes the Norma/Romero pairing, if you haven't read this interview with Vera and Nestor yet, you should, 'cause it is very entertaining and adorable as all get out:

  12. I'd definitely watch an entire show of Norma antics! She makes me laugh, cry, worry (and feel somewhat embarrassed at times), but there's certainly never a dull Norma moment. Vera Farmiga should win an emmy for this role.
