POLL: Favorite Scene from Grimm - You Don't Know Jack + 2 Bonus Polls
2 May 2015
GrimmAs we head into the final 2 episodes, it's time to take bets on who is not going to make it to season 5. Are they bringing back Mama Grimm and Trubel just to kill them off? Has Juliette's ever-changing character gone as far as it can? Will they finally rectify not killing off Adalind in season 1? Did Nick really shoot Monroe and kill him? As a little bit of extra fun because I'm curious, I've also decided to add a death wish list poll. If you could make the decisions, who would you kill off? Don't forget to tell us why in the comments.
While I want Juliette to go, shegets my favorite scene for the 2nd week in a row. I loved how she threatened everyone on Team Grimm and tossed them about like rag dolls. Sadly I think Mama Grimm is not going to make it into season 5 and either Renard or Juliette or both. Since I like Renard, it will probably be him. Since the second item on my Grimm wish list is that Juliette and Adalind die, they are definitely my picks for the last poll.
ReplyDeleteFavorite scene-Nick is forced to pull a gun on Monroe and the screen goes black-Gunshot!
ReplyDeleteWho will die?-Next episode-Mama Grimm.Season finale-Prince Kenneth & Juliette.Want to die-NONE but that won't happen.
But according to Claire Coffee Adalind will not have the baby till next season.
ReplyDeleteThey will drag this baby arc till next mid-season for sure.In the meantime,Nick will fall in love with his baby mama.
ReplyDeleteEven better. They don't need a kid on Grimm.
ReplyDeleteBut they will-2.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is why Grimm is officially jumping the shark. It's dead show walking, out of ideas and desperately trying to do anything to get more viewers.
ReplyDeleteI agree. They should've picked up the Map and Key SL instead of this ridiculous soap opera baby melodrama track.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the "bonus polls" in the headline, I figured you'd put a who do you want to die poll in there.
ReplyDeleteSo, the episode. Favorite scene choice was Adalind's recap at the grave. It was completely ridiculous and very Grimm-like in its humor. As for the other polls, Kelly Burkhardt (why not use her actual name?) and Juliette are my choices for deaths. I think Grimm will whip up some sort of hocus pocus to save Renard from his passenger and Grimm won't kill off a pregnant Adalind so she is safe too. I abstained from the final poll.
That's harsh. I love a lot of the elements of Grimm, just not some of the poor storyline choices made by the show runners.
ReplyDeleteFirst they have to be clear if they want to make it a procedural or a serialized show.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly tried hard to make Adalind more likable last night.
ReplyDeleteThat's why i'm dropping it after the finale.I cannot tolerate this saint version of Adiland after all the crap she has pulled over the years. All is now forgiven and now swept under the rug-Why?Coz she's carrying Nick's magical baby?Just NO.
ReplyDeleteThe trend nowadays seems to be to make shows a bit of both.
ReplyDeleteGrimm is failing miserably in this department.Look at Castle,HTGAWM-Such good Hybrid shows!
ReplyDeleteHow can you bear to leave Monroe and Rosalee, Wu and Bud ?
ReplyDeleteI do love them but you have to drop a show when you hate the central character the most(Nick).
ReplyDeleteExactly. They have a tendency to drop plots that have merit and could be intriguing long-term and instead go for the most ridiculous, soap opera-ish, Maury Povitch special type plot twists. Those never work in the long run and it feels like the writing staff is now creatively bankrupt.
ReplyDeleteThe plot has gotten more and more ridiculous every season with every fan fic-level wirting choice available. Amnesia, love potion, having your nemesis' baby? Check, check, check. It's like Grimm is channeling its inner Passions, which means it's creatively bankrupt right now. They need a new writing staff to save the show from its own demise.
ReplyDeleteThe way the ratings are dropping each week, next season is most likely it's last anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe idea that they are making Adalind the new Juliette irks me too. Are we all supposed to forget the past 4 years? I guess they think we have amnesia too. It's a ridiculous right turn simply to keep an actress when the character has nothing left to give.
ReplyDeleteYou are right on point. The procefural aspect last night seemed like a paste job until the end. I didn't expect that death at all. I do like Adalind because she's far more complex and CC is the only reason that role works. Juliette, unifortunately, comes off as one-note no matter the circumstances. I'm not for Nick falling in love with Adalind but they certainly have a weird but intriguing dynamic. Plus, with Adalind thrown into the group it certainly creates a lot of conflict and humor. The show has a lot of work to do over the summer in terms of direction and figuring out the right balance. It is not really succeeding on either front.
ReplyDeleteYep. You can't have storylines this ridiculous, plot holes this big, and twists this junior in writing and expect people to watch, especially on a weekend. They need a major overhaul.
ReplyDeleteWILL DIE: Juliette, Mama Grimm, Prince Kenneth, and/or Renard
ReplyDeleteWANT TO DIE: Juliette & Prince Kenneth
They had more success with procedural even if most genre fans prefer serialized. Looking at their serialized plot lines, they are a huge mess. Best to go procedural until they get their act together and come up with a plausible and interesting serial plot.
ReplyDeleteI actually liked the evil/Semi-evil version of Adliand.Juliette was useless in the 1st season, however with time she became semi interesting as a character. This is Katrina of Sleepy Hollow all over again. The writers are taking the easiest route-Pick the character which is universally despised by majority of fandom and set her up as a villain all of a sudden coz they have no clue what to do with the character anymore!
ReplyDeleteI am about done with this show. I love dark Juliette but the current story line that the show is pursuing of making Adalind some kind of saint and Juliette an irredeemabale villain has made it almost unbearable for me to watch any further. Will be seeing the two remaining episodes but my patience is almost at an end.
ReplyDeleteVery low chance of me returning to see S5 and I have been watching from Day1. It makes me sad but this has happened before with other TV shows and book series. Sometimes the direction in which they go is not palatable( to me) at all. I am not going to whine about the writers. They are fully entitled to follow their story line with integrity.
I wish the other fans all the best and hope the show keeps being enjoyable for them.
I couldn't agree more.Clear out the mess you've created,go with the MOTW SL for a while and then pick up the main arc from there.
ReplyDeleteRenard is safe. The creators themselves said in an interview he will be shot again,it's a tradition but he's safe.
ReplyDeleteOf course there's a death wish list poll. I really want to know how others feel about the characters. If it weren't SpoilerTV, I'd probably put that poll first.
ReplyDeleteI've always called Kelly "Mama Grimm" and since she's sadly not going to make it probably, no need to change now. By the way, Adalind is now Princess Pout or Princess Pity Party for me too.
I think Kenneth makes it because they have to have one useless Royal hanging around so we don't forget that they think there's a story there.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. This is my last season too.
ReplyDeleteWill die: Juliette, Mama Grimm
ReplyDeleteWant to die: Juliette and Wu (who serves little purpose). Now Viktor would've been there, but I think they did a great job with Prince Kenneth would like to know more about his story. Renard is necessary for the procedural aspect of the show.
This is why i think he's done for-I think next week,As per Kenneth's instructions.his henchmen will kidnap Kelly after she comes to town and kill her in the process trying go get Diana's info out of her.Nick will take revenge by killing him.I see no way he makes it out alive.
ReplyDeleteWith the exception that Katrina had far more potential than Juliette ever did, I agree with you. It's a rush job designed to forgo everything's that's happened before in order to get to some endgame that isn't even making sense. I've dropped Sleepy Hollow after this season's complete mess. I may be doing the same with Grimm if they don't make a huge overhaul this summer. I won't watch Adalind as the new Juliette.
ReplyDeleteI knew she had far more potential than they showed us but they didn't explore it and we didn't get to see it.
ReplyDeleteFor me, Wu is the humor so I hope he stays. I completely agree about Viktor. He needed to go. Kenneth I think will stay for at least another half season. They don't seem to want to drop the Royals plot so they have to have one. Kenneth is the most interesting of the Vienna Royals so far.
ReplyDeleteI think Kelly's death is almost a certainty. The only question I have left is whether or not it will be an onscreen death or not. It doesn't seem like Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is going to be showing up for this. Oh, I take that back. My other question is as to the whereabouts of Elizabeth (Renard's mother). Wasn't she supposed to be tracking down her grandchild on her own? I figured she'd be back for this too but she's seemingly absent as well.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe i'm saying this but i actually like Kenneth.
ReplyDeleteI've voted that Adalind drinks the potion to suppress her powers, also who's gonna die is Kelly and Juliette and who I want to die is Juliette and Kenneth!
ReplyDeleteSigh, unfortunately your check list could be the same for a lot of shows. Sometimes I'll encounter way too similar plotlines in different shows in the same week. It's almost as if originality has packed its bags and left TV.
ReplyDeleteI may be joining you. The Adalind thing is going to be my last straw. We don't need Juliette to be honest and to make Adalind the new Juliette is just stupid. The writers are creatively bankrupt at this point and that's when a show needs to end. It's like they are turning on daytime TV during their writing sessions and just randomly saying, "How about this?" You can only throw so many things up to see if they will stick before you have a wet, clumpy mess.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many other, far more interesting stories that could've been pursued other than Adalind's pregnancy. There's the constant threat of the Royals, the key mystery, Renard's phantom bleeding, finding a cure for Juiette, and Monroe and Rosalie facing continued discrimination from the Wesen community to name a few. If anyone should be expecting a baby, it should be Monroe and Rosalie because that would really be an interesting story. Have two different Wesen conceived a child before on this show? There is no point to Adalind being pregnant with Nick's child unless the baby is really Nick and Juliette's and he is the cure for Juliette.
ReplyDeleteYep. When shippers run a show's direction, it's time to go. Katrina could have been the most interesting character in the show but they stalled her at every chance they could get. One of the worst second seasons of a show that I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteSame feeling here.
ReplyDeleteYou know what the most sad part is-You can't kill a baby in a TV show like this so Adiland's baby melodrama is now permanent, like it or not. It's irreparable.
ReplyDeleteI think HEROES gets that credit.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Heroes but I have a hard time believing it was worse than the second season of Sleepy Hollow. I can't recall one thing I liked about SH s2 except the introduction of Hawley.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Prince Kenneth is a great villain- one of the best ever on the show but how could you want Wu, so funny and so unexpectedly into the whole Grimm thing, to tragically disappear.
ReplyDeleteI have seen both and i'm telling you,it was way worse.I think we are the only two that liked Hawley.
ReplyDeleteThat is sadly true for all of Hollywood, TV and movies. There doesn't seem to be a lot of originality left. I haven't seen too much amnesia or love potion these days but surprise twist pregnancies are becoming all too common again. It's annoying all around.
ReplyDeleteYep.Every show is suddenly jumping the sudden pregnancy bandwagon!
ReplyDeleteI don't see a way for Mama Grimm to make it either. Such a shame because my interest level always peaks when she is guesting. I thought MEM was definitely on one of the last episodes based on the preview but maybe it will be all clever camera work. If she dies and I don't even get to see her, I will be even more ticked off. At this point I'm glad HexenMom isn't going to be around because they have a tendency to kill off all the most intriguing characters. I'd rather she take Adalind's place and kill off Adalind.
ReplyDeleteI think Kenneth makes it purely because they don't seem to want to let the Royals story die so they have to keep one of them around.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see if they actually kill Juliette off. Let's hope that they don't have her lingering in another coma while thy race to find a cure.
ReplyDeleteAdiland is forever safe here on out coz she's Nick's baby mama,so forget her.
ReplyDeleteI don't like him but he's the least annoying Royal we've had and he makes things happen. If they are keeping the Royals storyline, I would rather have him be the face of the Royals and keep the action up instead of Viktor's constant monologuing.
ReplyDeleteLooks like after this episode,no one would be too keen on finding that cure. The writers made sure of that. She's too far gone.
ReplyDeleteThat was one lame Royal.LOL!
ReplyDeleteAdalind is forever safe because the writers seem to love her. They could easily kill her off and give Nick a "raising his child on his own" storyline. In fact, that sounds very Grimm these days. Still Adalind will stay to push me away from the show because someone high up in Grimm loves her.
ReplyDeleteGrimm is still unique in one aspect. I haven't seen any show go from no signs of pregnancy at all to significant baby bump in 2 episodes. Adalind's pregnancy hasn't made any sense from beyond a storytelling aspect.
ReplyDeleteAny you remember any broadcast show which has killed a pregnant woman?
ReplyDeleteHe was not popular but he was a heck of a lot of fun in a show that lost all traces of humor.
ReplyDeleteAt least the writers said that it's a supernatural pregnancy so the rules of our world don't apply here on the show.
ReplyDeleteAnd it didn't hurt that the character was played by hunky Matt.LOL!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't Mama Grimm have Diana with her in the previews? I thought that's what they said, which surprises me because who takes a baby to save their son's life? I need to see that preview again obviously. I do agree Nick goes postal when he learns of his mom's death but I stil think Kenneth was brought on to liven up the storyline and since it doesn't seem to be resolved, he sticks. Still I don't see Juleitte killing Mama Grimm or Nick killing Juliette so you may be right. It will be a shame though because Kenneth makes the Royals barely tolerable which is a huge improvement from Viktor.
ReplyDeleteIf this show can redeem Adalind, they can redeem Juliette. It's just a question of whether they want to. To be honest, Grimm does a great job of conveniently forgetting whatever they want to ignore or excusing it away.
ReplyDeleteWait. So you're claiming there's some producer mandate to keep the character on the show due to blatant personal preference?
ReplyDeleteThe Vampire Diaries. The baby survived though.
ReplyDeleteCount me as the third one to like Hawley. He was cool.
ReplyDeleteI've been considering the possibility that they may keep "evil" Juliette, solidify her alliance with The Royals and send her overseas and keep the character as a recurring villain but not a series regular.
ReplyDelete"Eau de Mommy" LMAO !
ReplyDeleteI love your polls ! I basically follow the show through them while I decide whether I drop Grimm definitely or not. All this soap opera is depressing, so thank you for making me laugh.
Good Bye Grimm...
Fav scene Juliette X Team Grimm. Also Adalind talking with her mom's coffin was funny
ReplyDeleteTWD is a cable show-They have the courage to many things broadcast shows can't even think of.TVD doesn't count.
ReplyDeleteAt least there's now a chance to make another surpression potion with Henrietta being killed. Something tells me Nick won't ask Juliette to take the potion next time. I just wish there was a Hexenbeist cure for Juliette.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Juliette is too far gone. If some viewers are willing to overlook Adalind's past when she was in control of her actions, then why not Juliette who has no control over the Hexenbeist.
My favorite scene was Adalind's monologue with her dead mother in the coffin. It was sarcastic and funny, and made me think that if Adalind had been written like this consistently, without the other stuff, she would have been worth keeping as a character.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Renard is another perfect example of that.
ReplyDeleteI picked the scene with Adalind drinking the potion. Sadly, I think that Kelly Burkhardt will die. It's less easy to predict the other death, but I'm guessing either Juliette or Kenneth. The only character on that list that I wouldn't mind seeing dead is Kenneth, even though he's one of the more effective villains. I think that Monroe,, Rosalee, Nick, Adalind and Renard will be safe for next season. This leaves Hank, Wu, Juliette, Kenneth, Trubel and Bud and I think I'd be most upset if Trubel died.
ReplyDeleteI liked the scene where Nick gives full and caring attention to Adalind as she nearly faints, and puts her to bed.
ReplyDeleteBest scene: Adalind talking with her mom's coffin lol Claire Coffee, the best this season.
ReplyDeleteAnd Darla on Angel.
ReplyDeleteI really think Juliette will die. There's absolutely no way the writers are letting her live past the finale.I've accepted that.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think the moment she destroyed the trailer she became unforgiveable. And if nicks mother dies as a result of her trick or, even worse, juliette actually kills her herself, then there is no way nick lets her live. At this point i just want to see him go medieval grimm on her and be done with it. Lop her head off or something lol
ReplyDeleteThis is probably one of my favorite episodes so far, just the intensity of it all blew me away. However, I do really wish they'd get on with some of the major story-arcs instead of all the Adalind crap.
ReplyDeleteim kind of surprised they didn't include adalind and nick's baby it could be possibility.
ReplyDeleteHad to go with Adalind's monologue by her Mom's coffin. ( also favs, the organ retrieval and Bud's scene)
ReplyDeleterecurring characters to die -- My educated guesses.. The more Juliette burns bridges the more likely I think it'll be her. The writers (IMHO) inability to tell good compelling season arc villains (Adalind and the Royals) makes me think that Juliette as the show's ubervillain won't work. She will have to either be "saved" or killed. And Kenneth...I don't find him that interesting. At best he's a thug and it kind of feels like he was planned as a short term villain.
Who do I *want* to die -- Adalind and Kenneth ---- Adalind because she's never really been part of the spine of the show. Kenneth because he's basically a thug whose quest has nothing to do with the key story I wish they'd get back to.
Sadly, you may have a point. Bitsie was told way in advance of how dark Juliette is going to become. Bitsie also said in an interview that she doesn't see Nick and Juliette getting their happy ending, at least not until the series is over. Out of curiousity, I looked at Bitsie's IMDb page and it looks like she is getting some work outside of Grimm. The only main actor of the show to do so. I really want Nick and Juliette to be happy together. However, I'm starting to move out of the denial stage and into the acceptance stage that Juliette's days may be numbered.
ReplyDeleteI don't want Juliette to die. I want hr as the big bad next season
ReplyDeleteI think Kelly and Nick will die, but Nick's won't be permanent. We've seen that powerful enough hexenbiests can resurrect the dead earlier this season. My thought is that Nick dies and Juliette will resurrect him which will either be a point of redemption, or lead to even more dark side imbalance.
ReplyDeleteI'd really rather no one die permanently. I really like everyone in the cast, except perhaps Adalind. And she's fun to dislike.
