People Are Talking - Ordered to Series by NBC + First Look Promotional Photo
7 May 2015
Pilot Shows Truth Be ToldIf you can think it, they will say it. From producer Will Packer ("Ride Along") and director Pam Fryman ("How I Met Your Mother") comes this unabashed new comedy about two diverse couples who are both neighbors and best friends. As they go through life side-by-side, they can't help but analyze and obsess about everything. From topics like sex and race, to the fact that the trusted new babysitter might just be a porn star, nothing is out of bounds for this wildly outspoken foursome.
The cast includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Meaghan Rath, Tone Bell and Bresha Webb.
DJ Nash serves as writer and executive producer. Will Packer and director Pam Fryman (pilot) also executive produce. "People Are Talking" is produced by Universal Television and Will Packer Productions.
Thank God NBC went first today. I was starting to lose patience. And I love Mark so I may check this out!
ReplyDeleteA show with Mark is always worth watching. I loved him in his previous legal show, not the successful one the one before that.
ReplyDeletewhats this show about ?
ReplyDeleteI hope they pick up Warrior
ReplyDeleteA hybrid half-hour comedy, examining sex, race and everything else your parents told you never to talk about. Bell will play the co-lead, the best friend to Mitch and his neighbor — and voice of reason. He's a stand-up comic, which is relevant only in that he has no fear when it comes to talking to someone or making a scene in public to prove his point.

The synopsis makes me want to cry, sounds terrible and trying to be edgy and not at all funny.

Never heard of this one
ReplyDeleteThat would be my second pick after Fuentes Women
ReplyDeleteYuck
ReplyDeletePeople talking. :P
ReplyDeletesorry. ;)
Why is it so easy for us to detect flops but so impossible for them? This is beyond frustrating!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask who the sample/testing audiences are for pilots because most of the time they seem like they might be a bunch of morons?
ReplyDeleteNBC, just announce its cancellation already. It's about time.
ReplyDeleteNot hating on the show, but it is NBC after all.
Looks like Lucifer is nearing a surprise pick up at FOX.
ReplyDeleteI know right? Every year I say the same thing lol.
ReplyDelete100% this
ReplyDeleteI also want to know who is on the Emmy and Grammy committees but that's another story.
ReplyDeleteThe synopsis alone makes me want to pass on this. Come on Superstore (want to see America Ferrera on my TV again) and Take it from Us (which sounds like an HIMYM clone but I am oddly interested in it.)
ReplyDeleteIt's NBC. 9/10 sitcoms are destined to fail.
ReplyDeleteHopefully NBC arent stupid enough to pass on the ones that people might actually want to watch.
ReplyDeleteNBC-Nothing but Crap/Nothing but Chicago franchise.Take your pick.
ReplyDeleteNothing But Cancellations.
ReplyDeleteNetworks are probably wondering where is the next "Modern Family". Family comedies seem to be the only ratings hit nowadays!

Totally agree about trying too hard. This is something I expect to see on FXX but NBC is definitely the wrong channel for this kind of comedy.
ReplyDeletehaha ☺.
ReplyDeleteIt is an attempt to push boundaries and be edgy and it's not going to work with NBC's audience at all. I'm not even sure where NBC could place it. It doesn't work with their likely pickups.
ReplyDeleteIf it airs, likely 3 episodes and done.
Nothing But Chicago is my personal favorite because it's true.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this kind of comedy always rubs me the wrong way, its never as clever as it thinks it is.
ReplyDeleteI guess NBC's comedies are in such a mess as it is we shouldn't be surprised anymore when they pick this kind of rubbish up.
ReplyDeleteWasn't Meaghan supposed to star in FOX comedy with long title or does it mean we can check the other one as passed on?
ReplyDeleteBecause NBC has a quota where they have to pick up at least a handful of truly awful sounding shows and then be surprised when they all bomb.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping they'd stop at Heartbreaker though.
I don't watch comedies, but the most hilarious thing about this is it being picked up to series. It will flop hard, no matter what lead-in it gets.
ReplyDeleteNext please!
People won't be talking about this show.
ReplyDeleteAt least it is not yet another NBC workplace comedy!
ReplyDeleteThat said... I'm not sold.
I would love to know who at NBC thought giving One Big Happy a series order was a good idea.
ReplyDeleteChicago Men: A sitcom starring Charlie Sheen.
ReplyDeleteMake it happen.
Can't they revive Revolution and move the characters to Chicago and call it Chicago Revolution?
ReplyDeleteI usually roll my eyes whenever someone includes the show's title when they are talking about cancellation but you're comment made me chuckle.
ReplyDeleteLol, I hope they don't give it a slot after The Voice on Tuesday. It would be a huge waste.
ReplyDeleteDoes it matter though? It's not like the slot did this season's shows any favors. Remember Marry Me? The show that NBC ordered 5 more episodes of but only aired one of them? PAT won't fare much better.
ReplyDeleteYep, those are the two only shows i really want to see being picked up
ReplyDeleteI will tune in for Mark but over all: Meh...
ReplyDeleteI feel it might be the "married couple" version of a sitcom to Undateable... which isn't saying much...
ReplyDeleteIn that same vain it could hit the laughs, but possibly not for the right reasons....
