Oil - Time Slot Revealed?
11 May 2015
Blood and OilThanks to darkness for the heads up.
On, ABC's website, the time slot for Oil (form. Boom) is listed as Sundays at 9/8c in the fall. See screenshot below.
This is likely true, but we can't be sure until ABC officially announces their fall schedule tomorrow.
Most fitting time slot i could imagine for it
ReplyDeleteBoom sounded better.
ReplyDeleteIt could pair well with OUAT, good time slot, although I expected Kings and Prophets there.
ReplyDeleteOil, sat in America? This must be a joke. Set it to Norway ABC, or i'll boycott.
ReplyDelete:)
Will they stop changing the names already... I thought that was a docu fiction about petrol.
ReplyDeleteOil? That's such a generic title. And I really can't see it finding an audience on Sundays. It'll get lost in the crowd.
ReplyDeletehope it's true. oil is the new drama i absolutely wanna watch (along with of kings and prophets), i was sure i would have to wait till midseason so please make it happen
ReplyDeleteboom was a better title but there's already boom! on fox this summer.
ReplyDeleteif abc really goes with once upon a time, oil and nashville on sundays then i would be very busy on monday morning catching up
I quite like the rename, even if it is a bit on the nose! I could see this pairing well with Nashville at 10pm, if that's where it's headed.
ReplyDeleteO.o Sundays 9pm?
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm IN
Ugh, I was hoping S&L would stay in the slot and air in the fall. Oil (bad title BTW) sounds boring as hell.
ReplyDeleteIt was already taken.
ReplyDeleteStill I like OIL in the poster !
ReplyDeleteAnd I think the simplicity works for this
Terrible title... even Boom was better.
ReplyDeleteI feel like OUAT/Oil/Nashville could really work. If they promote Oil well, it could get great numbers and maybe even help Nashville, since i think they could be compatible
ReplyDeleteBoom was already taken so they had to change it.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I know right, imagine the promos. "All New Oil, next Sunday at 9|8c on ABC." Sounds like something the belongs on the Food Network.
ReplyDeleteLol
ReplyDeleteThe title may be ugly, but the poster isn't at all. Really intrigued about this one.
ReplyDeletePerson A to B: "Hey did you watch Oil last night".
ReplyDeletePerson C who has no idea what Oil actually is looks at them like "???"
Many people TV sites seemed to have picked it up now.
ReplyDeleteAwful title.
ReplyDeleteBut I have to admit it fits well with OUAT ^^
OUAT & OIL
They already erased it, not only date, but there is no show named Oil on the site
ReplyDeleteExpected, I was refreshing just to see when they pull the leak.
ReplyDeleteS&L doesn't even have a cast. I doubt it could be ready for the fall.
ReplyDeleteMore like:
ReplyDeleteA: Did you watch Oil last night?
B: Oil? What?
C: What?
I'm not sure if any of the bridge series are going to be in the Fall tbh.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Boom
ReplyDeleteProbably mid season.
ReplyDeleteI'm expecting a lot of articles with comments including "Crude" or "Fracking" in the coming days...
ReplyDeleteThey just love the one word titles though... Ugh.
They have plenty of time to cast the new roles. Need I remind you that OUATIW didn't have a cast too and it still got a fall slot.
ReplyDeleteThat actually doesn't sound that bad. I would have taken that over oil.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Oil
ReplyDeleteYeah, this would've sounded better as a documentary or something, not as an actual tv show.
ReplyDeletewtf is this about. don't tell me Texas.
ReplyDeleteBilly and Cody Lefever dream of a new life beyond their working class roots and move to “The Bakken” in North Dakota, booming after the biggest oil discovery in American history. They’re soon pitted against a ruthless tycoon who forces them to bet big and put everything on the line, including their marriage.
ReplyDeleteStill listed here but the link to the show page doesn't work. http://abc.go.com/new-shows
ReplyDeleteOil revolution in America.
ReplyDeleteThat name change sucks! I think Boom was better, and would even prefer American Boom or American Oil. Anyway, Sundays at 9 is a hard time slot and I'm not sure it's gonna work there. It might bomb hard or maybe it booms. But I'm still looking forward to the show!
ReplyDeleteI think it is a hard slot but a soap is the perfect counter programming option against everything that is going on elsewhere, IMO. It won't be an easy job but it is possible.
ReplyDeleteOh really? I didn't know that about Wonderland. I stand corrected then.
ReplyDeleteAnd if it bombs, I am hoping we get S&L early!
ReplyDeleteHopefully not. That would mean S&L would have to go up against award seasons in Januay and February which would be horrible for the show!
ReplyDeleteHmm, didn't think off that. That's why I was hoping it would get a fall slot
ReplyDeleteI am hoping it airs on January on Thursdays.
ReplyDeleteOil? Sounds awful. Maybe if they add another word...
ReplyDeleteThat could be risky.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Oil!
ReplyDeleteSundays in the spring are much harder than Thursdays in the winter and it already passed this test. But it needs a buzzy cast again
ReplyDeleteWell maybe it could work. There are not a lot of other options given that the show isn't really compatible with anything on ABC.
ReplyDeleteI would rather have Oil on Weds at 10 and The Catch on Sun at 9.
ReplyDeleteYeah much better....
ReplyDeleteHmm... some other possibilities...
Dakota Boom?
Boom Town?
Oil Rush?
Crude Intentions?
Hot Springs?
Black Gold?
Slippery Business?
Rigged?
Frack This?
I'm with omabin that Thursdays might be better, but we shall see.
ReplyDeleteOil Rush or Crude Intentions sound good. The latter sounds a bit scandalous and very ABC
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Omabin. Secrets and Lies will pursue a film actor/actress (or 2) to replace Ryan Philippe. The writers will likely need to have more than one episode written to secure a big name for season 2. If they are smart they will write the entire 10 episode season before production begins. All of that takes time, I dont see it being ready by September.
ReplyDeleteThe Catch is almost for sure going to be Thursdays at 10 in spring when Murder ends.
ReplyDeleteIronically, it is compatible with Nashville probably, but that show is a ratings dud. Still, couldn't hurt having it around.
ReplyDeleteCrude Intentions is pure gold! They should hire you for making titles.
ReplyDeleteSubject: Re: Comment on Oil - Time Slot Revealed?
So recent history? if so Pass.
ReplyDeleteI guess at the very least they can use it as a tagline...
ReplyDeleteI only ask for 1% of revenue XD
AMERICAN EMPIRE
ReplyDeleteYes.
ReplyDeleteIronically the Dakota oil boom is actually on the bust side of things now...
I feel like The Family is a better replacement for HTGAWM. I know, The Catch is about another strong woman and stuff like Scandal and HTGAWM, but The Family seems to have the side of OMG moments and drama/darkness of Scandal and HTGAWM, which to me is the best part of both shows. Like, how many twist can they do in The Catch? It does seem like they'll go deeper than just the ex-husband going after the main character, but I like The Family's premise more.
ReplyDeleteSo you think you can dig
ReplyDeleteI thought The Family would be good for the Wednesday lineup at 10, the could finally promote a full conducive family night lineup and move Nashville to Sundays at 10.
ReplyDeleteSo after OUAT?
ReplyDeleteS&L need to air after Scandal in next spring.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of name is oil lol. Boom town would've been better lol
ReplyDeleteOil Rush sounds exciting. The show sounds like a soup. I might watch the pilot, but the name has the potential to turn viewers off.
ReplyDeleteThere was another show that went by that name, CBS' Boomtown starring Grant Show.

ReplyDeleteabc.go.com/shows/oil
ReplyDeleteOil? Blegh. Sundays @ 9 eh? So sacrificial lamb right out of the gate. Good I guess.
ReplyDelete"Lube"?
ReplyDeleteNot fan of the title change. I get wanting to keep it simple, but Oil just sounds silly... But I do appreciate how they made it fit in the graphic at least.
ReplyDeleteAlso not sure about the timeslot. I think it might be a good fit with Nashville, but I feel it'll be too different for the OUaT audience.
Oh lol
ReplyDeleteThis was "Untitled Pate & Fishburne Project" right?
ReplyDeleteS&L is pretty much certain to succeed in the spring, but a new show is not.
ReplyDeleteThat could have put a space between "Boom" and "Town"
ReplyDelete
