After turning the Hasbro toys Transformers and G.I. Joe into hit feature franchises, Paramount Pictures will try again with Beyblade. The studio has acquired rights to turn Beyblade into a live-action feature that will be produced by Mary Parent through her Disruption Entertainment banner. Beyblade is a line of customizable toys modeled after traditional Japanese fighting tops, developed and manufactured by Takaratomy, the creator of Transformers. The toys have been perennial strong sellers around the world and previously spawned multiple TV series, animated features and video games in markets around the world. The toys have generated $2.5 billion in revenue.

ReplyDeleteHasbro...your getting a bit too cocky with this....
But on the plus side, this is the 10th? Hasbro property in development for a live action film right now.
2015: Jem and the holograms
2016: G I Joe 3
2017: Transformers 5, My Little Pony
TBA: Candy Land, Monopoly, Hungry Hungry Hippo's, Tonka, Magic: The Gathering, Beyblades
How long till we get a Hasbro cinematic universe out of this? Lol
If they use the original anime I'm excited, but if they aim for this second thing noup.
ReplyDeleteI loved the first version with Tyson, Kai, May and Ray. ^^ Especially the 3rd season and the world tournament.
My little pony is getting a live action movie ewww lol but magic the gathering sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteOh boy!
ReplyDelete15 year old me would have loved this a decade ago. I wasn't aware that Beyblade was still a 'thing'. Good for them.
ReplyDeleteBeyblade got a new anime about 3-4 years ago and as far as I know the kids like it. I didn't watch it. My anime watching times are mostly over.
ReplyDeleteLol they're doing Beyblade. That's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThe bronys must be satiated.
ReplyDelete40 minutes of toys spinning... This is a movie for Michael Bay. Toys, no argument and 40 minutes of clashes and explotions!
ReplyDeleteI vaguely remember both the toys and the anime...
