After recently giving our Android App an update, as well as our Chrome Extension, we thought that we'd turn our attention to the mobile site.
We know that lots of you access the site on iOS devices, or older Android devices as well as those who prefer using the mobile version to that of the App.
Changes
1) We've added a Trending Now bar to the top of each page so that you can quickly see the most popular item on the site.
2) We've also added a Trending section to the bottom of each page that shows the Top 10 items over the last 24 hrs so you can quickly catch up on anything you may have missing.
3) We've tidied and streamlined the sidebar menu.
4) We've improved the loading time and the appearance of images in articles such as reviews so that they don't appear stretched or blurred on most devices. The images should also load quicker on slower devices.
5) Videos using our Springboard video player should also load quicker and more devices are now able to load the videos in full screen.
6) The Submit Scoop Form should now load quicker and fit better on most screens.
7) Comments should load a little faster
8) Search Box in the side bar is now a little larger and results should be returned faster.
9) Articles containing charts, spreadsheets, images and embedded calendars should now all fit better on Mobile devices and allow scrolling of large tables/charts for most devices.
10) We've also increased the number of Articles that are displayed on the homepage from 18 to 24 so you don't have to keep pressing on the "Older Articles" link so much.
11) We've also made the "hamburger" menu icon more visible at the top of the page so it's easier for people to find the sidemenu.
12) All Polls should automatically resize to the size of your device.
13) Articles that you have read previously will be shown in a light grey color on the homepage.
