Hi Grimmers! Sorry if I couldn't be able to review the last two episodes of Grimm but I have been really busy, so I've decided to put them together, since this season finale has been crazy.
SHORT PLOT: In episode 41, Headache, Nick and Hank get closer to uncovering the identity of the serial killer known as Jack the Ripper. Meanwhile, Juliette solidifies a new alliance with Prince Kenneth, as she works to get her revenge. Also, Trubel, Kelly Burkhart and Diana return to Portland.
We left with Juliette controlling Nick and his loaded gun against Monroe. Thanks to Hank, who manages to push Monroe out of the gunsight. As Juliette's totally lost her mind, Rosalee feels pain because she almost watched her husband got killed.Then, we arrive to Sean Renard and his bleeding story. Is it going to end? The answer is yes. The gang gets a call by Jack the Ripper, thinking he's holding the Captain hostage. Sorta. Sean's been possesed by Jack the Ripper indeed - I guess most of people around here have figured out their connection, so bravo! Even if he wasn't himself, Renard still killed those prostitutes, and he was about to kill Wu too when the two are left alone in the car. With Adalind's advice, Rosalee creates a potition to convince Jack to leave Renard's body. How? He must be sure Sean he's dead, so he can leave him for good. And it works. Renard is finally free, but the homicide needs to be solved.
SHORT PLOT: In the season finale called Cry Havoc, on the heels of a shocking discovery, Nick is hellbent on getting revenge and taking the fight to the Royals with help from Trubel.
Meanwhile, Juliette’s alliance continues to lead her down a dark path.
After the discovery of Nick’s mother’s head in a box, the Grimm is still screaming desperately. How can we blame him? It was a shock to me either. Anyway, he hasn't the time to mourn that Trouble and Hank reminds him this might be a trap. Quickly, she tells Nick about the Wesen she previously slayed in the alley. They needed Truble right now. Her bad ass attitude, and now her self-control is what they need if they want to win the battle against the Royals. As Nick realize Juliette called her mom and got her into a trap, he is ready to get revenge for what his former fiancée did: he wants her dead.
Meanwhile, Kenneth has Diana with Juliette by his side - or at least, that's what they believe. I think Juliette may start having second thoughts on what she did, but anyway it's too late to come back to normal. Also, it's time for the little girl to meet her grandfather aka the King.
Then finally we have some action when Kenneth and Nick confront each other and fight. Nick's dark side comes to surface; it's impossible to describe in words what he's been throught, but we can only imagine the pain in his face when he saw her mother's head, brutally assassinated. Eventually, Nick gets his revenge and kills Kenneth by stabbing him in the neck.
Did we forget about Captain Renard? With Jack the Ripper gone, he needs someone to be accused for murdering all those prostitutes. So he decides to blame Kenneth's death body, and that's how the Portland justice saves the day.
Back to Nick, he is a fury: he is determined to kill the Royals once and for all - I was expecting him to turn into a zombie-Nick for a second - but he's stopped by Hank, Wu, Truble and Monroe: they have a plan. They manage to sneak into the house where the Royals lay and they entertain an epic showdown.
While the gang is busy with the Royals, Rosalee and Bud take care of a very pregnant Adalind. They even chatt about Nick and Adalind's child - I mean, the writers have been teased their relationship this season, and this was just another clue to add. Don't you agree?
Meanwhile, the King and Juliette are headed for the helicopter with Diana, taking off before Nick can even reach them.
Nick looks defeated. He couldn't save Diana. As he comes back home, he finds Juliette. She didn't get on the helicopter. She realizes she made some mistakes and apologizes in her own way. Again, it's too late: the confrontation is inevitable. Juliette is obviously more powerful than him, and he can't killer her until Trubel enters and shoots her with two arrows to the upper torso. She dies in Nick's arms. There's no time to rest: someone outside is ready to "Get her" (get Juliette maybe?).
The twists still don't end: we see someone on the helicopter throw the King out while Diana looks on with a giggle. When the man shows his face, we realize that it’s a man that was present when Adalind gave birth to her.
Season 4 was a blast. Did Juliette really die? Are the writers really going to explore Nick and Adalind's relationship? Also what about Diana now? Too many questions need to be answered and sadly we have to wait till season 5.

If Juliette is going to be dead-dead then RIP to her. Enjoyed her arc this season and how everything ended was quite Shakespearean in essence.

God, I hope that they decide to return Diana to her mother, so that Adalind can raise both Diana and the new baby in the good safe environment with Nick, so that she and Nick can develop a relationship for the sake of their son. I'm sorry for Juliette, she shouldn't help kill Nick's mother, get away with it, help the Royals take Diana, and I'm glad that Trubel shot her, before Juliette can kill Nick.
ReplyDeleteI think is time for say goodbye to Juliette, a great character must have a worthy ending. She took her decision of fall in the dark hole. Is enought. She died as a good villain.
ReplyDeleteBring her to life and start to move all the good things that there were once and never will can to be again and turn that in shit is not the solution. Juliette´s goodbye is the best that this show had in years. Now can grown up as the writers said in more darker.
As much as i liked Juliette,her death should stick.This isn't TVD,death has to mean something!
ReplyDeleteWhat Juliette made with Nick´s mother is indescribable. She broke the most sacrest bond between a mother & his son. She doomed to Nick to live without his mother forever. She was a monster and had the worthy end.
ReplyDeleteAnd with Adalind & Nick´s stuff i am agree. They must grown up much more closer, after all the writers said that Nick is gonna to change, as Adalind is making. Maybe now Nick will be a true Grimm, much more stronger & Adalind a better woman, they could find themselves in a midpoint and by their mutual son start to build a friendship.
I am agree. And i think Juliette is really dead. Here the people can not be resurrecting, this wold ruin all the credibility of this show.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I agree with both of you, that end was ominous and reminded of the Renard's "resurection". So, we will have to wait for what in store regarding Juliete, I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit, I would prefer that they bring Juliette back. I think she has a lot of storyline potential now. They could go for an attempt at a redemption arc. They could keep her as a full on villain. They could even have her as some kind of anti-hero/anti-villain who helps or hurts as she wants. (As an example: she might want to kill Nick, but perhaps wouldn't want anyone but her to kill Nick.)

Juliette's turn to evil and her eventual death was handled much better than a certain other supernatural drama airing on Fox did with one of their characters.
ReplyDeleteAdalind and Nick started to talk. I JUST TRY OF PEOPLE BLAMING THE KIDNAPPED THING. child father decided to protect his child and mother try to sell the child. People are like it happened to me, but will use your child to get what you want even it means sell your child. Nick was right she Not a good mother. I won't use my child like that and sell my child.I having hard time letting babies bunnies free in the wild. It fantasy show just enjoy.
ReplyDeleteEven though I understand that Juliette had reached the point of no return and there was probably nothing more they could to help her, it still upsets me that she died before Adalind did. And I don't know if I could watch this show anymore if the writers did this to explore a relationship between Nick and the woman who has caused nothing but turmoil for Nick and Juliette. Getting pregnant with Nick's baby doesn't just wipe the slate clean for me.
ReplyDeleteAm curious who truble talk to on the phone when she was in the truck with bud. She said it was Nick but it was a woman's voice. The we saw Nick's mother's head in the box but they also made a point to say they did not find her body just her head. Could they have set up something to make them think she was dead. Maybe it was the FBI agent though truble talk to on the phone, since she was in charge of the group at the end and said get her.
