New York – Dana Walden and Gary Newman, Chairmen and CEOs, Fox Television Group, today unveiled the FOX primetime slate for the 2015-2016 television season to the national advertising community during its annual Programming Presentation at the Beacon Theatre.
“Building on the phenomenal momentum created by GOTHAM, THE LAST MAN ON EARTH and, of course, EMPIRE, we’re infusing next season’s schedule with new ambitious dramas, smart comedies, aspirational unscripted series and big live events and specials – all from the best creators in the business,” said Walden and Newman. “And our strategy with these bold creative swings is simple: schedule them strategically, market them relentlessly and create events that break through and captivate viewers across every platform.”
Tuesdays are all-new this fall on FOX, with new comedies GRANDFATHERED and THE GRINDER, followed by killer comedy-horror series SCREAM QUEENS.
The new comedies kicking off an all-new Tuesday are GRANDFATHERED and THE GRINDER. A comedy about coming of age – at any age – GRANDFATHERED stars John Stamos (“Full House,” “ER”) as the ultimate bachelor whose life is turned upside down when he discovers he’s not only a father, but a grandfather. THE GRINDER, starring Emmy Award nominee Rob Lowe (“Parks and Recreation,” “The West Wing”) and Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Fred Savage (“The Wonder Years”), follows a famous TV lawyer (Lowe) who, after his hit series, “The Grinder,” is canceled, moves back home and joins his brother (Savage) at their family’s real-life law firm – despite having no formal education, no bar certification, no license to practice and no experience in an actual courtroom.
Award-winning executive producers Ryan Murphy (GLEE, “American Horror Story”), Brad Falchuk (GLEE, “American Horror Story”) and Ian Brennan (GLEE) meld comedy, mystery and horror in SCREAM QUEENS. All hell is about to break loose for the Kappa House sisters of Wallace University when a murder takes place, exactly 20 years after a mysterious death originally rocked their college campus. The super-charged anthology series is a modern take on the classic whodunit with a killer cast, including Emma Roberts (“American Horror Story: Freak Show,” “Scream 4”), Jamie Lee Curtis (“Halloween,” “A Fish Called Wanda,” “True Lies”), Lea Michele (GLEE), Oliver Hudson (“Nashville,” “Rules of Engagement”), Keke Palmer (“Akeela and the Bee,” “Masters of Sex”) and guest stars Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas (“Kingdom”), among others. With at least one casualty each week until the mystery is solved, anyone could be the next victim – or the murderer.
Two new dramas – the futuristic MINORITY REPORT and the Miami-set ROSEWOOD – debut this fall. Based on Steven Spielberg’s international blockbuster film and the first of his films to be adapted for television, MINORITY REPORT follows the partnership between a man (Stark Sands, “Inside Llewyn Davis”) haunted by the future and a cop (Meagan Good, “Think Like A Man” franchise, “Californication”) haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes before they happen.
Also joining the schedule this fall is ROSEWOOD. From executive producer Todd Harthan (“Psych,” “Dominion”), ROSEWOOD stars Morris Chestnut (“Nurse Jackie,” “The Best Man” franchise) as DR. BEAUMONT ROSEWOOD, JR., a brilliant private pathologist who uses wildly sophisticated technology and his drive to live life to the fullest to help a tough-as-nails detective (Jaina Lee Ortiz, “The After”) and the Miami PD uncover clues no one else can see.
The next mind-bending chapter of THE X-FILES debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The thrilling, six-episode event series, helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents FOX MULDER and DANA SCULLY, marks the momentous return of the Emmy Award- and Golden Globe-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.
In 2016, additional new series joining the schedule include devilish drama LUCIFER and modern action series THE FRANKENSTEIN CODE; and two comedies, THE GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE and animated BORDERTOWN.
Based on characters from DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint, LUCIFER stars Tom Ellis (“Merlin”) as the charming, charismatic and handsome-as-hell original fallen angel, who, bored and unhappy in Hell, takes refuge in Los Angeles, where he uses his gift of persuasion to punish bad guys. But the longer he’s away from the underworld, the greater the threat that the worst of humanity could escape.
In THE FRANKENSTEIN CODE, from executive producer/writer Rand Ravich (“Life,” “Crisis”) and executive producer Howard Gordon (“Homeland,” “24”), a disgraced, 75-year-old ex-sheriff, whose life ends at the hands of corrupt cops, is brought back to life and given a second chance by a pair of young tech scientists, as a 35-year-old (Rob Kazinsky, “True Blood”) with unpredictable near-superhuman abilities.
NEW GIRL will return to Tuesdays in January, for its first-ever season of virtually uninterrupted originals. These weekly all-new episodes will platform THE GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE, the new young ensemble comedy about a group of friends living together for the first time. Each episode is told from the perspective of COOPER BARRETT (Jack Cutmore-Scott, “Kingsman: The Secret Service”), a wickedly charming and deeply flawed recent college grad whose life is filled with terrible choices, excellent mistakes and fantastic misadventures.
A new animated comedy from FAMILY GUY’s Mark Hentemann and Seth MacFarlane, BORDERTOWN is a satirical look at the cultural shifts taking place in America. Exploring family, politics and everything in between with a cross-cultural wink, the series centers on two very different families living in a fictional Southwest desert town on the U.S. - Mexico border.
AMERICAN IDOL will begin its 15th – and final – season this January on FOX. A season-long celebratory event, AMERICAN IDOL XV will feature host Ryan Seacrest and judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr., as they search for the final IDOL superstar and pay tribute to the past 14 seasons of amazingly talented contestants and the millions of fans who tweeted, texted and championed their IDOLs.
As previously announced, GREASE: LIVE, a three-hour production of the massively popular crossover musical “Grease,” starring superstar singers, dancers and actresses Julianne Hough (“Safe Haven,” “Rock of Ages”) and Vanessa Hudgens (Broadway’s “Gigi,” “Spring Breakers”), will air LIVE Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 on FOX. With Hough as the angelic “Sandy” – Rydell High’s most talked-about newcomer – and Hudgens as iconic bad girl “Rizzo,” this first-ever live television production of “Grease” will re-imagine the hit musical for an entirely new generation.
Additional FOX series include: ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A 5TH GRADER?, BOB’S BURGERS, BONES, BOOM!, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, BULLSEYE, EMPIRE, FAMILY GUY, GOTHAM, HELL’S KITCHEN, HOME FREE, THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, MASTERCHEF, MASTERCHEF JUNIOR, THE SIMPSONS, SLEEPY HOLLOW, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE and WORLD’S FUNNIEST.
NEW SERIES SYNOPSES
The following new anthology series will debut this fall on FOX:
SCREAM QUEENS
The girls of Kappa House are dying for new pledges. SCREAM QUEENS is a new killer comedy-horror series from Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning executive producers of GLEE and “American Horror Story.” Wallace University is rocked by a string of murders. Kappa House, the most sought-after sorority for pledges, is ruled with an iron fist (in a pink glove) by its Queen Bitch, CHANEL OBERLIN (Emma Roberts, “American Horror Story: Freak Show,” “Scream 4”). But when anti-Kappa DEAN MUNSCH (Jamie Lee Curtis, “Halloween,” “A Fish Called Wanda,” “True Lies”) decrees that sorority pledging must be open to all students, and not just the school’s silver-spooned elite, all hell is about to break loose, as a devil-clad killer begins wreaking havoc, claiming one victim, one episode at a time. Part black comedy, part slasher flick, SCREAM QUEENS is a modern take on the classic whodunit, in which every character has a motive for murder…or could easily be the next blood-soaked casualty. SCREAM QUEENS stars Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Lea Michele (GLEE), Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin (“Little Miss Sunshine,” “Zombieland,” “August: Osage County”), Nasim Pedrad (“Saturday Night Live”), Oliver Hudson (“Nashville,” “Rules of Engagement”), Skyler Samuels (“American Horror Story: Coven”), Keke Palmer (“Akeela and the Bee,” “Masters of Sex”), newcomer Billie Lourd, Diego Bonita (“Rock of Ages”), Glen Powell (“The Expendables 3”), Lucien Laviscount (“Episodes”), Niecy Nash (“Getting On,” “The Soul Man”), pop superstar and actor Nick Jonas (“Kingdom”) and Grammy Award nominee and actress Ariana Grande.

What’s the fastest way to put the brakes on a cruise-controlled bachelor lifestyle? Fatherhood? Guess again. Television icon John Stamos (“Full House,” “ER”) stars in a new comedy about the ultimate bachelor who discovers he’s not only a father, but a grandfather. Successful restaurateur and man-about-town JIMMY MARTINO (Stamos) is used to being the most suave, most handsome and most single person in the room. All that changes with the surprise appearance of Jimmy’s adult son, GERALD (Josh Peck, THE MINDY PROJECT), and his baby daughter, EDIE. Now Jimmy has to unlearn a lifetime of blissful selfishness and grapple with the fact that he went straight from single to grandfather in six seconds flat. Keeping tabs on Jimmy is Gerald’s mother and Jimmy’s former girlfriend, rocker chick-turned-mother SARA (Paget Brewster, “Criminal Minds,” “Community”). Equally concerned about how Jimmy will manage these new developments is Jimmy’s restaurant family, especially assistant manager ANNELISE (Kelly Jenrette, “Audrey”) and chef KEN (Ravi Patel, “Super Fun Night”). Can Jimmy teach Gerald to be a little more like him in order to win the affection of Edie’s hot mess of a mom, VANESSA (Christina Milian, FAMILY GUY, “Baggage Claim”)? Will Jimmy and Sara fall for each other all over again, even though she’s the one thing he never dates – a woman his own age? And who’s higher maintenance, Jimmy or the baby? THE GRINDER
How many TV lawyers does it take to try a real-life case in a real-life courtroom? One, and his name is THE GRINDER. Starring Emmy Award nominee Rob Lowe (“Parks and Recreation,” “The West Wing”), THE GRINDER is a new comedy about a famous TV lawyer at a crossroads. When his legal series ends, he decides to move back home and join his family’s real law firm – despite having no formal education, no bar certification, no license to practice and no experience in an actual courtroom. DEAN SANDERSON (Lowe) spent eight seasons playing the title role on the hit legal drama “The Grinder.” Now he’s moving back to his hometown of Boise, Idaho, where his brother, STEWART (Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominee Fred Savage, “The Wonder Years”), is a real-life attorney who is poised to take over the family law firm. It doesn’t take long for Dean to start injecting his TV drama into every aspect of Stewart’s life, both in the courtroom and at home, impacting Stewart’s wife – and Dean’s high school sweetheart – DEBBIE (Mary Elizabeth Ellis, NEW GIRL, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”); their two kids, 15-year-old LIZZIE (Hana Hayes, “Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures”) and 13-year-old ETHAN (Connor Kalopsis, “Days Of Our Lives”); and Dean and Stewart’s father, the law firm’s head, DEAN SR. (William Devane, “24: Live Another Day”). Dean and Stewart don’t see to eye to eye, but when they stop arguing with each other and start arguing together in court…they make a formidable team. MINORITY REPORT
The future is coming. Based on the international blockbuster film by executive producer Steven Spielberg and the first of his films to be adapted for television, MINORITY REPORT follows the unlikely partnership between a man haunted by the future and a cop haunted by her past, as they race to stop the worst crimes of the year 2065 before they happen. Set in Washington, D.C., it is 10 years after the demise of Precrime, a law enforcement agency tasked with identifying and eliminating criminals…before their crimes were committed. To carry out this brand of justice, the agency used three precogs – “precognitives” Dash, Arthur and Agatha – who were able to see the future. Now, in 2065, crime-solving is different, and justice leans more on sophisticated and trusted technology than on the instincts of the precogs. Precog DASH (Stark Sands, “Inside Llewyn Davis”) – driven by his terrifying, but fragmented visions – now has returned in secret to help a brash, but shrewd police detective, LARA VEGA (Meagan Good, “Think Like A Man” franchise, “Californication”), attempt to stop the murders that he predicts. As they navigate this future America, they will search for Dash’s missing twin brother, ARTHUR, and elude others who will stop at nothing to exploit their precog abilities. Also complicating matters is Dash and Arthur’s ingenious, but reclusive, foster sister, AGATHA (Laura Regan, “Mad Men,” “Unbreakable”), who just wants Dash to return home. A drama of crime and conspiracy, this is a timeless story of connection: two lost souls, Dash and Vega, who find friendship, purpose and redemption in each other.

(Morris Chestnut, “Nurse Jackie,” “The Best Man” franchise), the most brilliant private pathologist in Miami. Using his wildly sophisticated autopsy lab, he performs for-hire autopsies to uncover clues that the Miami PD can’t see. His new partner-in-crime is Detective VILLA (Jaina Lee Ortiz, “The After”), a Miami PD detective with attitude and demons to spare. While she’s impressed by Rosewood’s incredible abilities, his constant optimism is more annoying than it is infectious. But somehow, week-to-week, this unlikely tag team will solve many crimes together. Joining Rosewood in his practice are his sister and “toxicology queen,” PIPPY (Gabrielle Dennis, “The Game”); and DNA specialist TARA MILLY IZIKOFF aka TMI (Anna Konkle, “Man Seeking Woman,” “Betas”), who is Pippy’s fiancée. Plagued with his own set of medical ailments, Rosewood sees that every moment of life should be embraced and lived to the fullest. THE GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE
Wouldn’t it be great to have a friend who has made all the mistakes in life there are to make, and then tells you exactly where he went wrong, so you don’t have to? THE GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE is a new comedy that explores what we all go through on our way to figuring out what life is all about. COOPER BARRETT (Jack Cutmore-Scott, “Kingsman: The Secret Service”) still doesn’t have the job he wants; he’s accidently fallen in love with his across-the-hall neighbor, KELLY BISHOP (Meaghan Rath, “Being Human”); one of his roommates, NEAL (Charlie Saxton, “Betas,” “Hung”), just can’t seem to dump his bodybuilder girlfriend; his other roommate, BARRY (James Earl, “Ground Floor,” GLEE), is a “loveable jackass” who can’t stop getting into trouble; and his 40-year-old-brother, JOSH (Justin Bartha, “The New Normal,” “The Hangover” franchise), a married father of two, is constantly popping in to come hang with the fellas. The one thing they do have is each other. As Cooper struggles to survive each of life’s many challenges – a night in jail, an inappropriate text he never should have sent, an ill-advised household pet – he will guide us through the often-messy, always-hilarious ordeal, so that our lives don’t have to be nearly the entertaining disaster that Cooper’s is turning out to be.

BORDERTOWN
From FAMILY GUY’s Mark Hentemann comes BORDERTOWN, a new animated comedy about two families living in a Southwest desert town on the U.S. - Mexico border. The series takes a satirical look at the cultural shifts occurring in America, where the U.S. Census forecasts that by 2017, ethnic minorities will become the majority. Set against this increasingly diverse backdrop, the comedy explores family, politics and everything in between with a cross-cultural wink. BORDERTOWN centers on two clans: the Buckwalds and the Gonzalezes. BUD BUCKWALD (Hank Azaria, THE SIMPSONS) is a married father of three and a Border Patrol agent who is just a tad behind the times and feels slightly threatened by the cultural changes transforming his neighborhood. He lives next door to ERNESTO GONZALEZ (Nicholas Gonzalez, SLEEPY HOLLOW), an ambitious family man, who has been in the country less than 10 years, but is already doing better than Bud – which, it turns out, is a bit of an issue for Bud. Bud is married to JANICE BUCKWALD (Alex Borstein, FAMILY GUY), both the wisest and most oblivious member of the family. The Buckwald kids include BECKY (Borstein), a socially awkward, big-boned geek; SANFORD (Judah Friedlander, “30 Rock”), a loser who thinks he’s a player; and GERT (Missi Pyle, “The Exes,” “Galaxy Quest”), a beauty pageant-obsessed five-year-old with a pet pig. Meanwhile, living the American Dream next door are the Gonzalezes, including MARIA (Stephanie Escajeda, “100 Things To Do Before High School”), Ernesto’s no-nonsense wife; their son, RUIZ (guest voice Efren Ramirez, “Napoleon Dynamite”); and their 21-year-old nephew, J.C. (Gonzalez), a graduate student who is engaged to Becky and frequently butts heads with Bud. As Bud and Ernesto’s paths begin to cross, their two families soon become bound by romance, conflict and, perhaps most importantly, friendship – a word that means the same, no matter what side of the border you’re from.

From executive producer/writer Rand Ravich (“Life,” “Crisis”) and executive producer Howard Gordon (“Homeland,” “24”) comes THE FRANKENSTEIN CODE, a modern reimagining of the Mary Shelley classic, about a man brought back to life by two scientists playing god. Seventy-five-year-old JIMMY PRITCHARD (guest star Philip Baker Hall, “Modern Family,” “Magnolia”) is a shell of his former self. A drinker, a womanizer and a father who always put work before family, Pritchard was forced to resign as L.A. County Sheriff for corrupt conduct more than a decade ago. Now, some 15 unkind years later, he is killed when he stumbles upon a robbery at the home of FBI Agent DUVAL PRITCHARD (Tim DeKay, “White Collar”), one of his three children. But death is surprisingly short for Jimmy, who is brought back to life by billionaire tech-genius twins MARY GOODWIN (Dilshad Vadsaria, “Revenge”) and her brother, OTTO (Adhir Kalyan, “Rules of Engagement”), founders of the social networking empire, Lookinglass. Resurrected as a younger version of himself, with physical abilities of which he never dreamed, a re-animated Pritchard (Rob Kazinsky, “True Blood”) is given a second chance at life. What will he do with it? Will he seek vengeance against those who killed him? Will he try to repair the damage he did to his family? LUCIFER
The Devil has come to Los Angeles…Based upon the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint, LUCIFER is the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR (Tom Ellis, “Merlin”) has abandoned his throne and retired to L.A., where he owns Lux, an upscale nightclub. Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things – wine, women and song – when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of Lux. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder. Compassion? Sympathy? The very thought disturbs him – as well as his best friend and confidante, MAZIKEEN aka MAZE (Lesley-Ann Brandt, “The Librarians”), a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman. The murder attracts the attention of LAPD homicide detective CHLOE DANCER (Lauren German, “Chicago Fire”), who initially is dismissive of Lucifer. But she becomes intrigued by his talent for drawing out people’s secrets and his desire to dispense justice, doling out punishment to those who deserve it. As they work together to solve the pop star’s murder, Lucifer is struck by Chloe’s inherent goodness. Accustomed to dealing with the absolute worst of humanity, Lucifer is intrigued by Chloe’s apparent purity and begins to wonder if there’s hope for his own soul yet. At the same time, God’s emissary, the angel AMENADIEL (DB Woodside, “Suits,” “24”), has been sent to Los Angeles to convince Lucifer to return to the underworld…can the Devil incarnate be tempted toward the side of Good, or will his original calling pull him back toward Evil?

Empire staying at 9. Didn't expect that.
ReplyDeleteSurprised they kept Empire at 9
ReplyDeleteMuch better than NBC's schedule but Rosewood won't work.
ReplyDeleteInteresting choices.
ReplyDeleteGotham+Minority report could work
Moving SH good idea, not sure if it'll work with Bones.
Better than NBC but still mistakes
ReplyDeleteNot moving Empire is a mistake and not using Scream Queens is dumb
No Bordertown?
ReplyDeleteWhy change the timeslot that gave FOX it's best show ratings in years, maybe even ever.
ReplyDeleteTo use it as a lead in to propel another show to good ratings.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm not really surprised it didn't move.
ABC may have to reconsider launching a new comedy at 9:30pm given that it's hard to launch something against established shows.
ReplyDeleteBecause at 8 it could pretty much launch whatever show they want.
ReplyDeleteNo. Scream Queens, Empire and Minority should have been 8pm, like Thursdays and Sundays
ReplyDeleteThat's what it was paired with for most of s1, wasn't it? Then Bones moved to Friday's and it was stuck wit Almost Human...
ReplyDeleteThank you fox!! I wanted empire at 9 and they didn't disappoint me
ReplyDeleteOhhh I didn't know that. Just checked their ratings, they are were good together. But neither show is what it was back than.
ReplyDeleteYup agreed why ruin the momentum
ReplyDeleteBones on Thursday again? I hoped they will move it
ReplyDeleteAll launching a new show behind it would do is have all the retentionistas giving it grief. lol Unless the shows are incredibly similar, hit shows usually can't launch legitimate hits.
ReplyDeleteI expected them to use Empire and Scream Queens at 8 as strong lead-ins for another shows.
ReplyDeleteI am disappointed that Rosewood got fall spot over Lucifer & Frankenstein. TBH i expected Gotham & Lucifer to be paired.
First they canceled Mindy and now i even have to wait for New Girl :(
My Thursdays are going to be jam packed..
ReplyDeleteNot sure why they aren't better using Masterchef Jr, it rates higher than Bones & Sleepy Hollow.
ReplyDeleteI'm disappointed The Frankenstein Code isn't starting in Fall.
ReplyDeleteFox not moving Empire seems like a pretty stupid decision to me. It should be used at 8 pm to lead into a new show.
ReplyDeleteAnd I can't see the Tuesday line-up doing anything else than flopping. Why does Fox think these comedies are self-starters?
This is a much better schedule than NBC's, but I would just move Minority Report, Scream Queens and Empire to 8 on their respective nights, with the 8:00 shows at 9.
ReplyDeleteSmart to bring Last Man back in the fall and save New Girl for midseason.
I'm not sure either. Especially in the 8pm slot against Voice and stuff.
ReplyDeletenew girl in midseason ? right?
ReplyDeleteThe people that are making these schedules so far need to be fired immediately.
ReplyDeleteYes.
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to mention that Sleepy Hollow will be up against Scandal and The Blacklist(which will have Hereos Reborn for a lead in). So, uh... Bye, Sleepy Hollow. Your first season will be missed.
ReplyDeleteThe Voice, NCIS, The Flash and likely ABC comedies. Fox comedies will suffer and possibly drag down Scream Queens.
ReplyDeleteScream Queens should do quite well. Maybe I am completely off but I am fully expecting it to be one of the biggest hits of the season, which is why not having it leading off the night is insane.
ReplyDeleteThat part actually makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI think the low-rated comedies will drag SQ down. It would have to be extremely well promoted to become a new hit. It certainly won't become the next Empire.
ReplyDeleteMy first impression is that this is a terrible schedule for FOX. Thursdays and Fridays are going to be very tough for FOX. I see two sub 1 nights for them.
ReplyDeleteElsewhere, why put Scream Queens against two hour The Voice chair turn episodes? That's asking for disaster. Even worse, the comedy block is the lead in. Scream Queens is likely DOA. Rosewood into Empire doesn't make sense either. Rosewood doesn't have much of a chance without a lead in.
Gotham into Minority Report is OK, but Gotham is not a strong enough lead in for Minority Report to likely survive on its own.
I'm surprised no Lucifer for fall. It's like FOX gave up and decided not to program. This is a schedule likely to land them in 4th place this fall.
I totally agree!! I would've had Scream Queens and Empire at 8. MasterChef and Bones should've switched places.
ReplyDeleteI might be watching 7 shows on Thursday. Wow, that will be a challenge.
ReplyDeleteIt's really a tough slot, they should've went for a show that already has a fanbase(maybe Bones or SH) or let SQ start there.
ReplyDeleteExpected that Sleepy Hollow would be moved, but to Fridays
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to see the trailer for SQ, I hope they hook me up. The cast really sounds compelling.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow is completely dead in this timeslot. This is worse than dumping it on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteSo, is the X-Files gonna air on Sundays or Mondays? I don't like the idea of it airing in a previously non-existent time slot, and after comedies too.
ReplyDeleteNo it's going to air Monday's I think it's just that they are taking advantage of big game lead in on Sunday
ReplyDeleteHow the hell is Empire not a lead in?
ReplyDeleteMondays look great, expected Gotham to be moved to 9 since Minority Report might even bring in bigger ratings.
ReplyDeleteSleepy Hollow might just loose its head on Thursdays at 9.
I would have liked to see Lucifer on the Fall lineup. So excited to see the trailers for some of these (because I wasn't too impressed with NBC's offerings in terms of Trailers).
wow "Lucifer" sounds really good
ReplyDeleteI's incredibly puzzling. FOX has its biggest hit in years and they decide to not use it as a lead in? That tells me FOX is really worried about Empire not retaining its season one audience.
ReplyDeleteMore alarmingly, it indicates the likely quick cancellation of Rosewood which will not likely survive self starting at 8 PM.
Strange that they are not using Empire as a lead in. Will check out Scream Queens and The X-Files, I don't really care about the rest.
ReplyDeleteBones should have gone to Fridays, it would have rated better there.
ReplyDeleteThursdays should have been lead by either Minority Report (which has a lot of name recognition) or Master Chef Jr if they didn't want to.
The comedies self starting? Empire not leading?
Seriously, first NBC screws up Wednesdays and Tuesdays and now FOX does this?
I really don't know who's worse though, NBC or FOX. Because FOX Thursday does not look pretty and those 8pm shows would benefit a lot more by swapping with 9pm. They could potentially be getting 3 flops there because of that and Gotham could benefit from a better lead-in. Seems they're trying kill shows they have and throw a few news shows to the wolves...
ReplyDeleteHonestly, this schedule makes NBC looks like a scheduling genius. It's all a disaster based on how they placed their shows. It doesn't encourage growth and best of luck getting their new shows sampled.
ReplyDeleteI was really expecting to see Empire at 8 on either Wednesday or Thursday. Fox had a real chance to combat TGIT.. even if that was't on their minds, I'm surprised that Empire, Scream Queens and Minority Report are all at 8. Rosewood leading into Empire!? Really? And those older, male-led comedies into Scream Queens?
ReplyDeleteWhat about Houdini and Doyle?
ReplyDeleteI think that was always meant to be lower priority filler.
ReplyDeleteLucifer sounds awfully compatible with Empire.
ReplyDeleteStill can't figure where they are going to put TF code during mid-season?
I don't agree with some of your points and I think FOX schedule, despite idociacies, is still miles better than NBC. They have two huge mistakes to me which are SQ and Empire at 9, but the rest is correct, give or take.
ReplyDeleteI believe both are backup for when/if Minority Report or Rosewood fail. If not needed, one of them probably ends up on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, FOX's is much worse and it's not even a contest.
ReplyDeleteNBC ran scared on Wednesdays because they wanted to see where Empire landed. Now that it's Wednesday at 9 PM, expect Chicago Fire Wednesday at 8 PM. They'll likely announce that today at their upfronts. But their plan of putting new shows after The Voice is smart and I like that they aren't comedies. They are trying to get hits out of Blindspot, Heartbreaker, and The Player.
With FOX, they aren't putting their new shows in a position where they can succeed. Mid to 1 comedies before Scream Queens? That will be a disaster. Scream Queens isn't destined to break a 2.0, likely won't break high 1s. Rosewood before Empire? Another sub 1.5 demo new show premiere. It's a mess at FOX.
The statistic likelihood of a new Empire forming is ridiculously low. But I could see a Glee-esque breakout.
ReplyDeleteNo, I disagree. I still hate NBC scheduling much more. FOX has two big, huge mistakes, which are Scream Queens and Empire on the wrong timeslots, but the overall pairings are still correct and they are airing what I think they should be airing on each night (I consider Thursday and Friday the ssame thing at this point)
ReplyDeleteBones can't anchor Thursdays. Look at its spring numbers! They are hideous!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's not like Sleepy Hollow is a power house; it could do ok with the correct lead in, but Bones isn't it. Bones would be better off on Fridays where it did amazing last season
I have dropped Gotham and Sleep Hollow so Minority Report and Empire are the only FOX dramas that I will be catching in the Fall.
ReplyDeleteBrooklyn 99 is perfect on Sundays.
It will be a long wait for New Girl. Only advantage is uninterrupted episodes throughout.
Will check out Lucifer and X-Files in January.
I'm really not sure how Rosewood didn't get paired with Bones. But could see RW move to Thursdays and open up a slot for Lucifer.
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't seem thought through.
The pairings are correct, but the nights are a complete miss. Thursday and Friday won't break low 1s. When 2/5ths of your major nights are in that territory, they needed to rethink it completely.
ReplyDeleteFor all of NBC's misses, I can't say that about them.
I do not believe, at all, that Bones would do better on Fridays. Maybe relatively speaking but not in absolute terms. The show is not the same show it was a year and a half ago in terms of strength, so I don't see the comparison as being meaningful.
ReplyDeleteAnd while Bones cannot indeed anchor Thursdays, I think giving up Thursdays for low priority filler stuff (Bones, MC Jr, SH) is the right play. They cannot attack all days at once and Thursday is the right day for them to give upon. Because 1) the other networks hare too big there and 2) they have zero established presence there. It is a good scheduling strategy to recognize limitations and deal accordingly. NBC, for instance, is incapable of doing that when needed. FOX did that, so for that, I salute them. Thursdays ratings do not matter for them and they aren't what will measure the success of their fall schedule.
Rosewood is the only thing they could even attempt to pair with Empire imo, so I can understand why they are together.
ReplyDeleteI think giving up Thursdays and Fridays for low priority filler stuff (Bones, MC

Pathologist solving crimes with Empire? o.O
ReplyDeleteBut they passed the chance to have acceptable ratings on Thursdays and Fridays. Master Chef Jr is nowhere to be seen and it would do much better than Bones on Thursdays, why not use that for instance?
ReplyDeleteWhile I understand your point, why not use such a card if you have it? Why not improve everything while you are at it? Or is Master Chef Jr really that needed as back up?
I agree that they can't attack all days, but they didn't attack any day. They just left things as is and said we'll wait to midseason.
ReplyDeleteI'll put it this way, Blindspot, Heartbreaker, Best Time Ever with a few weeks The Voice assistance, and The Player have a shot with thier schedule to find a sustaining audience. Fox's new shows do not have that shot. The best chance is Minority Report with a lead in that has been lackluster lately.
In my opinion, that is the sign of a network that gave up and hasn't learned how to properly allocate their assets to make a viable schedule.
Interesting schedule. I will say that I'm curious about episode orders for Bones/Sleepy Hollow. Assuming that AI airs on thursday again, would they use it to lead in/out a new show? If they did, would Bones be shuffled off again if it is a full 22? But if it is a final season short season it'll have aired all of it's eps to let AI take the slot and then when SH finishes it's 18 ep run...new show? Or does it move to fridays as soon as AI premieres and new show takes it slot?
ReplyDeleteI'm also assuming SC is a short season too...So NG+ New comedy takes it's slot if the others get full 22's?
Sleepy Hollow has 18 episodes; at least that was what they said when they renewed it. I think this is what will happen in January:
ReplyDeleteWed: American Idol | American Idol
Th: American Idol | Sleepy Hollow
And then February onwards
Wed: Rosewood, Lucifer or Frankenstein | Empire
Th: American Idol | American Idol
Sleepy Hollow will be over by then. Bones can either be over too (if they short the season due to Emily's pregnancy) or sent to Fridays.
I would have preferred Masterchef Jr. on Thursdays indeed but there are two good reasons for it not to happen:
ReplyDelete1) It can only have 7 episode seasons (Due to child labour laws or whatever) so they can't have it there for the whole fall and they would need replacements, moves, etc, which they clearly want to avoid for those low priority nights
2) By tentatively placing it on Fridays, they can use it midweek if something bomb, like they did this year with Utopia. They wouldn't be able to sell a gap on Thursday, but they can sell a gap on Friday. Rosewood or the comedies seem possible to bomb (my money is in Rosewood), so Mastechef Jr. can be placed there when that happens and run until the end of the fall like it happened on Tuesday this year, with FOX launching something else on January.
So placing it on Fridays gives them flexibility and stability.
Final season of American Idol probably lands on Tuesday after Scream Queens. Lucifer replaces Minority Report or Rosewood (whichever one does worse). The Frankenstein Code likely joins Houdini & Doyle on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about Lucifer at 8 on Wednesday (if thats what you meant thought) since its a DC Property and Arrow airs at the same time, they might not want it to air at the same time as another DC Show :)
ReplyDeleteI disagree. Minority Report has a shot and so has Scream Queens. In regards to Scream Queens, although I think the network as a whole would have been much better off with it at 8, it is actually maximized as this hour as it avoids the voice and has completely different dramas on CBS and ABC, and what I expect to be a non entity on NBC. So it is set up pretty well. I doubt it is the type of show that needs a lead-in so the comedies won't hurt it anyway. In addition, they are giving LMOE the best chance they could to grow on Sundays instead of going with the obvious thing to move it to midseason.
ReplyDeleteThey've screwed the comedies and Rosewood in this process, which is pretty stupid and not at all necessary, but I think they truly don't like Rosewood and are just using it as a placeholder here.
Everyone this is the plan for Tuesdays lol
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/TVMoJoe/status/597749471368204290
Oh that is true. Then... maybe The Frankenstein Code goes there?
ReplyDeleteI think X-files will air Mondays. It starts with a 2hour event on Sunday after a game.
ReplyDeleteFridays works for me, but that limits it chances of coming back and that would only worry me.
Scratch that. Per Joe Adalian:
ReplyDelete#Lucifer will launch out of #XFiles in February and then air with #Gotham in late winter/spring.
Very good schedule Fox! It's safe, but not too safe
ReplyDeleteNBC needs to make some adjustments to their half assed sad excuse for a fall schedule.
Yes, it does. I missed it the first time in the press release.
ReplyDeleteUgh why Empire in 2 halves? Now we are going to have to wait for it to come back at some point
ReplyDelete"We'd be crazy to move it."--Fox chief Gary Walden on #EmpireFOX
ReplyDeleteWho even hires these people?!?!?!
Not great for Minority Report. They signed it's cancellation notice before it airs unless they have plans to move it elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteNot really sold on a late February start for Lucifer either. This should have been on in the fall.
Probably.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's so FOX.
ReplyDeleteI think it is probably limited a a Sleepy Hollow. Why they continue to pursue that model when it has proven to destroy shows in season 2 after the long hiatuses (SH, TF, Under the Dome) is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned before, I'd be very shocked if The Mysteries Of Laura a single episode Wednesday at 8 PM. Chicago Fire is waiting and ready. So is Shades Of Blue. Expect a quick change. They just wanted to make sure FOX didn't put Empire at 8 PM.
ReplyDeleteLucifer on Mondays. Interesting. Hoping on TFC news soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are right.
ReplyDeleteNBC better change their fall schedule.
ReplyDeleteTuesday needs to be Best Time/Voice/Heartbreaker
Wednesday needs to be Fire/SVU/PD
Empire wouldn't have been a good lead-in anyway, so I don't mind their decision to keep Empire at 9pm.
ReplyDeleteI better enjoy Sleepy Hollow while I can. Between moving it to Thursdays opposite Blacklist and Shonda shows ... and putting it after deteriorating Bones ... and losing Orlando ... unless a miracle occurs, this'll be it. Fox clearly is just giving up on Thursdays. Well, I'll give them 18 weeks on that night. As for Empire, I'd follow that anywhere, but I admit I like it on Wednesdays. For me. Business wise, I dunno.
ReplyDeleteEven if the following show retained 1/4 of the audience, which is more than pessimistic, it would have been a good lead-in. It is a very stupid decision, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI so wanted Empire was the lead in the Scream Queens. Damn you, FOX
ReplyDeleteWow... Just when you thought NBC's schedule was the worst.
ReplyDeleteScream Queens should have aired after Empire on Weds at 9 and be sort of a lead-in to AHS which airs at 10. Bones and Sleepy Hollow? Wow super power couple Fox!! (that was sarcasm btw).
Me too! Gah!
ReplyDeleteEstablished shows - Bones, Grey's, The Blacklist, Elementary, Sleepy Hollow.
New Shows - Heroes and The Player
That's not including ABC or CBS's Fall schedule. Also not including Vikings or any other midseason shows!!!
When are we getting trailers by the way?
ReplyDeleteI doubt Elementary stays put there.
ReplyDeleteOMFG I can't actually believe they didn't use Empire as a lead-in!!! And put freaking Gracepoint 2.0 before it!! Ugh I feel annoyed. And we thought NBC's scheduling was bad...
ReplyDeleteI'm dying waiting for Scream Queens
ReplyDeleteHurray 24!
ReplyDeleteI kinda understand some of Fox decisions. They didn't move empire because they don't want to mess with it and want to Nurture it. And even as a lead out, Empire helped American Idol, it can do the same for a new show. Also 8 pm is less competitive than 9 pm.
ReplyDeleteScream Queens at 9 makes sense because of censorship. It's a horror series and they might be able to do more with it at 9 pm. Also comedies at 8 pm is going after the success ABC found there with FOTB. With NCIS and The Voice weakening every season, they have a shot.
I know Thursday is the most important night for networks, but the profit Fox gets on Wednesday with Empire more than cover that so they can prioritize other nights to fix first. Thursday 8 pm is a murder ground with Greys and TBBT, so although low rated Bones is at least reliable. I just pity Sleep Hollow, which will face Scandal and The Blacklist, but as genre show Fox probably expect it to be counter programming. I fear for its fate though.
Chicago Fire to Wednesday is smart.
ReplyDeleteI believe Shades of Blue will anchor a Latina block on Sunday's in the Spring paired with Hot&Bothered so that NBC can recreate the magic of Desperate Housewives on Sunday's.
I looked at this schedule earlier and though they had to be bonkers. Damn, how right they were (minus NG and Tuesday slots).
ReplyDeleteProbably not, but until the new schedule comes out...
ReplyDeleteyaaasss
ReplyDeleteFox Schedule is out and Pitch Perfect 2 soundtrack comes out in 5 minutes~ life is good!
Or Genius !
ReplyDeletePutting a show that is on it's last legs ( few seasons ) that not many will watch due to Scandal and The Blacklist ( and whatever else airs ) fills a time slot in the schedule no one would be watching anyway as well as allows Sleepy Hollow to quietly slip into syndication heaven in a few seasons. Maybe FOX is willing allowing Sleepy Hollow to be Scandal/The Blacklist/???/???'s sacrificial lamb so to speak and in the end 'reap' the DVD rewards.
It hit a freaking 6.9 for the finale. If it returns even close to that, then it should be a great lead-in, especially for a premiere. Plus Rosewood has an African-American lead-in so that some viewer crossover potential there.
ReplyDeleteHoping for ABC to be this good as well.
ReplyDeleteBut the release came cause of the conference call, that happened afterwards. No clue if there are other scheduled for the other days.
ABC will release it at 12.
ReplyDeletewhere as at 9pm
ReplyDeleteNCIS:NO (low 2's/high 1's), Sheild (mid 1's), low rated CW show(below 1.0), Heartbreaker(my guess mid 1's)
I think they actually made the right descion for SQ and just didnt have anywhere else to put the comedies
Will we get the trailers at that time Babar? That is in how long? i am lost with time zones again.
ReplyDeleteNo idea. I think it won;t be till their presentation.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I feel that you are way too condescending on the networks with development. If Rosewood is a known flop, that is their damn fault. They are the ones who greenlighted bad shows to pilots and they picked a flop from pilot to series. It is not some sort of inevitability which shows end up on a network pipeline. FOX deserves credit for picking up Empire just as it deserves to be brought down from picking up Rosewood, if it indeed is a flop in which they don't believe.
ReplyDeleteUS time? That is 18 european time. I like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info.
But that is just tomorrow right?
ReplyDeleteSo some snap judgments.
ReplyDeleteMondays: Minority Report paired with Gotham makes sense, but are they not expecting it do well enough to get a back order since they same slot will be used for X Files and then Lucifer? I don't think we ever heard that it is a limited series.
Tuesdays: Why is SQ not a lead-in? FOX begins their fall a week earlier than the other networks so there would have been a chance for SQ to attract an audience before The Voice came. And does FOX really have enough faith in John Stamos and Rob Lowe to think that their comedies will be self starters opposite The Voice?
Wednesday: Why on earth is Empire not moving to 8. Yes Part 1 of the finale rated almost a full rating point than part 2 at 9, but it still hit a massive 6.0. If it returns even close to that, that should be a great lead-in for a new show. And I see people saying that Rosewood and Empire are not compatible, which is somewhat true, but if you lead-in is 6+, you would surely benefit somewhat. And Rosewood as an African-American lead-in, so there has to be some crossover.
Thursdays: Why is Bones premiering in the fall. I think they should have tried a new show on Thursday and used Bones as back-up if any show needs to be pulled or doesn't get good enough ratings for a back 9. This is pretty much the last season of Bones and it should be used as a schedule filler or back-up. Plus Frankenstein Code seems quite compatible with Sleepy Hollow.
Friday: Not much to say there. Let's see how well MC Jr does on Fridays. If it does 1.0+ that is a win for FOX.
Sunday Nothing wrong here. I expect LMoE will be replaced by Guide to Surviving Life since I don't think LMoE has a full season.
I don't get what you are asking here.
ReplyDeleteGuide to Surviving Life will air with New Girl in January.
ReplyDeleteBecause a show hitting 6.o+ needs to be used as a lead-in to a new show.
ReplyDeleteI actually think the Empire decision kinda makes sense and was born out of fear of even a 1 hour slide. I think the FOX execs were like "OMG, OMG, Empire is a hit! No one move, look at or even BREATHE in the general direction of our first real hit in ages."
ReplyDeletePerhaps, but if that was their plan, they'd put it on Fridays. Also, genre shows tend to do poorly in syndication, so I don't think that they are looking forward to syndication on that show. I think that FOX actually thinks that Bones/Sleepy Hollow will hold and they will likely be mistaken.
ReplyDeleteI see. So, they don't expect either of the two Tuesday comedies to get back orders, either.
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to figure out why they ordered Rosewood ever since they ordered it. Studio City should have been with Empire. I think that FOX realized their mistake by now, but that isn't a good excuse for this Wednesday schedule.
ReplyDeleteA lot of shows will move into that (Once Upon A Time does it, SHIELD does it), and I think it works better than having random 1, 2 and 3 week hiatuses throughout the season.
ReplyDeleteAgreed I just find it annoying LOL but yeah a little less annoying than multiple hiatuses
ReplyDeleteWe've been developing a new version of [24]
ReplyDeleteWONDERFUL !!!
I'm a little
ReplyDeletepeeved that Bones is back in the same spot as this season. I really
wish they would've put it on Friday or another night so it would be away
from Grey's and TBBT, considering how this season has turned out
ratings wise. But that's just me.
Also, do we know yet if it's getting a full season or not?
I have to disagree about Tuesday. NBC wants a medical show to work and Heartbreaker's only chance at finding an audience is to be placed after an older skewing show like The Voice. This was a very good match. I wouldn't change NBC's Tuesday schedule at all. It was one of their better scheduled nights.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, Best Time Ever will do as well at 8 PM and 10 PM, but the 10 PM placement means that Best Time Ever will get the direct The Voice lead in for a few weeks and then be able to live off The Voice momentum at 10 PM.
With Wednesday, I agree. Shades Of Blue or Chicago Fire will end up Wednesdays at 8 PM.
Me too.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly it. It's a complacent schedule that doesn't foster growth.
ReplyDeleteI honestly wouldn't get attached to any new FOX show. I don't see any of them really overachieving with this schedule.
Exactly. Development should be part of the grounds by which we judge the networks, not some exogenous factor that poor networks have no control over.
ReplyDeleteIt only has 6 episodes, so how can it be?
ReplyDeleteFinally American Idol is ending.
ReplyDeleteNo, New Girl is set to replace Scream Queens. What pairs with New Girl is the mystery though. They should have just kept Mindy alive for that.
ReplyDeleteNothing has been announced so far, but I kind of think that no news is good news in this case.
ReplyDeleteYes tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSame. It would make so much more sense to put Empire on Thursday when it's their best rated show at the moment... and Bones did so well on Fridays... oh well...
ReplyDeleteIt could always get more episode ordered. Dads started out with 6 episodes, too.
ReplyDeleteBut how it would work being midseason? I suppose they will start shooting in the fall and they should be done with the 5 episodes pretty soon (the pilot is already shot I suppose), which means that they would finish filming, have a series finale filmed, and then be asked to come back if, in January, the show somehow is successful enough for FOX to order more episodes? I have a hard time imagining it work...
ReplyDeleteDo you have a link for that, BTW, so I can add it to the schedule spreadsheet.
ReplyDeleteI think so, too.
ReplyDeleteShoukdve used Empire,SQ as leadins instead of Likley flops/filler& it's stupid they're not repeatng Empire over the summer to give it more exposure to help it.Im only interested inSQ anyway
ReplyDeleteNo the Tuesday schedule is awful.
ReplyDeleteIt's disjointed because it's structured as Reality/Drama/Reality and that is bound to fail. Yhe schedule should be Reality/Reality/Drama.
Besides since NPH only has 10 episodes if it were to air at 10, NBC would need another "State Of Affairs" to replace it in November which would be stupid.
Ideal schedule would be either Voice/NPH/Heartbreaker or NPH/Voice/Heartbreaker so that compatible reality series can be paired together leading into a 10pm drama.
Cynthia from Variety has reported it: Fox's @NewGirlonFOX returns in Jan. at 9 p.m. Tuesday paired with newbie "Guide to Surviving Life," after "Scream Queens" ends in Dec.
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/Variety_Cynthia
I don't have a lot of time to respond, but the way it works as far as I see it is networks order their pilots based on scripts and sometime those pilots turn out well and sometimes they don't.
ReplyDeleteThere are probably many times a great script can turn into an awful pilot, but by the time the networks get to that point they are left with the pilots that they've already ordered to choose from. The process can easily lead to weak development seasons, and by the time we get to upfronts there isn't much that the networks can do to fix that.
Minority Report on Monday yessssssssssssssss
ReplyDeleteIIRC, Dads order was upped in May. If they like what they see of Guide, they can add more episodes before production ends.
ReplyDeleteThursday after Bones.
ReplyDeleteWhen are the trailers coming out?
ReplyDeleteYep. We knew EMPIRE was going to teh fall. Scream Queens on tuesdays. Hope it works. Iam so exited for that show. Need the trailer now.
ReplyDeleteDisappointed they didn't move Bones, but not surprised, especially pairing it with Sleepy Hollow.
ReplyDeletethanks. Should I start Bones? S11 might be the last or should I wait?
ReplyDeleteThe X Files at 10 pm????
ReplyDeleteIt looks like only on Sunday. Then on Monday it'll be on at 8.
ReplyDeleteI am starting to fear that we won't get trailers today
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteI think the base of NBC's logic (which is probably correct) is that Heartbreaker needs more lead-in assistance than NPH (and NBC also needs more scripted hits), so give it The Voice lead-in. That in and of itself makes a certain amount of sense, but don't then put NPH after it! That makes the night such a disjointed mess. If they had to have all three on the same night, I think NPH/Voice/Heartbreaker might have worked best. I would have actually put NPH somewhere else and done Voice/Heartbreaker/Chicago Fire right off the bat instead of holding their top drama CF for midseason(?!)
"Fox is keeping their biggest potential hits in the highest viewed hour of the night, and SQ will avoid The Voice during the majority of the fall which is a huge plus."
ReplyDeleteThese are fair arguments (and SQ does sound like more of a 9 PM show than an 8PM show), but they've doomed the two new comedies to failure by putting them at 8, I think. It's a tough call, though...the night may not have done any better if Fox had switched the hours.
Now that Fox has kept Empire at 9pm on Wednesday, NBC could potentially shift NPH's show to Wednesday 8pm, and push Laura to midseason.
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely a tough call, but overall I think Fox did a decent job with the schedule.
ReplyDeleteIt's leagues better than the clusterf**k NBC released yesterday.
Counting down the days until January 24th...
ReplyDeleteHmm I don't know. If 11 is the last I'd wait. However 10 seasons should keep you busy:) No harm in starting now if you've got the time.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a fan of the show. It's a fun procedural with great characters.
good thanks.
ReplyDeleteI dropped Gotham, so i don't have to worry about that mess. Scream Queens, Tuesday at 9, that works for me. I swear Thursdays are really messing me up now. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI was having myself a marathon over the weekends, reliving the good ole days of the show. Watching earlier seasons. Sigh. Seasons 1-8 were the best. (yes i still watch, no i'm not behind at all) I've watched since the pilot. I'm glad i had a marathon, it made me remember WHY i loved the show so much.
ReplyDeleteFor me it's the following: Bones, Sleepy Hollow, The Blacklist and The Player. That's four (and there could be more with shows on ABC, CBS and The CW).
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's smart Fox didnt use Empire as a leadin-1.theyd have to tone down content if it moved to earlier 2.Look at VD,Arrow,PLL,BBT..Having a high rated leadin doesn't mean the show after it does well or has its own audience.3.Avoid a 2Broke Girl situation ehere a show is asked to anchor a night before its ready & it crumbles.
ReplyDeleteKinda liking this programming too.
ReplyDeleteI like that they're doing the split season thing too with some of their shows..
