ReplyDeleteme 2 !
ReplyDeletewell according to showbuzzdaily no adjustment for Arrow....
ReplyDeleteI can't see anything about finals on showbuzz?
ReplyDeleteSurvivor, SVU, American Idol and The Middle adjusted up one tenth. Supernatural, Black-Ish and Nashville adjusted down one tenth.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for those CW numbers. The preemptions didn't hurt them at all.
ReplyDeleteCongratz Arrow on scoring your highest rated season finale ever.
ReplyDeleteConsidering Arrow was preempted in Chicago, I'm glad it kept that 1.0
ReplyDeleteAt least The Middle got adjusted up a tenth. They deserve it after such a great finale!!
ReplyDeleteThats more believable for SPN, you could tell the prelims were massively inflated esp the viewer numbers. Season Finale might scrape a 0.8 but I'd be very shocked if it goes higher than that and gets more than million viewers.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, it is. That is both really awesome and a little frustrating. I liked the finale better than most, but compared to the other two, not as awesome. But whatever. I still love this show, and I'm all for good numbers.
ReplyDeleteThis is so odd too. The best season finale on Arrow(imo), "Unthinkable" had the least amount of viewers.
ReplyDeleteI can dig these numbers for Arrow and Supernatural. Especially Arrow's. Job well done on a fantastic season and a really good season finale.
ReplyDeleteThe Middle finale deserved better, but at least it adjuted up... it's something
ReplyDeleteYeah ... in my opinion, the ratings are kind of inverse to the quality of the show at the time. Lowest average rating was season two - the best season - while the middle ratings go to season three - the second best season - while the highest average ratings goes to season one - in my opinion, the least successful of the seasons. And of the finales, best numbers to the least awesome finale, this one, and worst to the best one, season two. Very strange.
ReplyDeleteI am more interesting in how the season 4 premiere will be like.....because there probably some who hate Olicitiy will stop watching.....but it would be great to go up 1.2 and maintain that.....
ReplyDeleteYah, that too. One of the worst rated episodes was in S2. I just looked that up now, too.
ReplyDeleteI mean, ratings don't mean anything....I've always said that, but sometime's it is a shocker when you realize these facts. And I can't decide my favorite season or what have you as I've loved specific arcs with each of the three seasons.
They might hate it but there are still going to watch. The loudest complainers never quit.
ReplyDeleteBut then again, from what we've heard, we'll finally be seeing GREEN Arrow....who knows will give the premiere a chance just because of that.
ReplyDeleteMillion?
ReplyDeletewell GA is coming but it won't be 100% comic like.....it be great to attach some new fans to the show especilaly GA comic reader
ReplyDeletePeople need to stop thinking what 1000 people say on the internet it's a global statement. You go to Tumblr, they love Olciity. You go to IGN, they hate Olicity. You go to Twitter, they love Olicity. You go to IMDB, they hate Olicity.
ReplyDeleteStill, a couple thousands don't make a whole. Fans online are a minority and they don't have a saying on the show. When they say they do, it's just to please them. Truth is this was Arrow's best rated Season. People watched that Season and stayed.
So it's very likely Season will keep the same ratings... if not better, since maybe some Flash fans will catch up on Arrow.
The CW's take on Flash isn't 100% like the comics, but people do appreciate as close as it can be. Green Arrow won't be like Arrow who's been like Batman a lot. That will be appreciated, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI know a few people on other social site won't affect the rating much. I bet it will just get stronger or maintain the same. One character can't affect the show since I think people is interested in the Diggle/HIVE arc
ReplyDeleteI think Season 2 on the whole was riding on the bad reviews of season 1. I remember going to forums and articles and people who had stopped watching in season 1 would bash the show. It was during the hiatus between season 2 and 3 when lot of people campaigned for the show and tons of articles praising season 2 of Arrow came out. Also netflix helped. This season with the introduction of Flash and cross over episode has shown an increase in audience. The expansion of universe will clearly help Arrow a lot.
ReplyDeletewell I don't think the writer can't use much influence from the Nolan Batman movie since 1,2,3 is very close to BB, TDK, and TDKR.....I expect season 4 to be fresh new ideas.
ReplyDeleteI really don't think people who stop watching only for Olicity's sake will make any dent in show's ratings. Just like people who threatened to quit the Black Canary arc because they hate Laurel did not make any difference. IMO next season ratings will be this good or even better as the universe is even expanding and Arrow is becoming GA.
ReplyDeletePS: You do like to blame Olicity for every perceived bad thing on Arrow don't you?
Congrats Arrow on a great season ratings wise. I hope the show continues to get success in the coming seasons.
ReplyDeleteI not a Olicity hater...I just point out other site who hate her so much. I guess I just frustrated with hate over the finale...... I think Mac is the number 1 felicity hater you can see his comment on imdb arrow board
ReplyDeleteArrow started the season with 2,83 and a 1.0 and ended with the same numbers. It was a huge rollercoaster, I hope for a more constant S04.
ReplyDeleteDang,Nashville adjusted down
ReplyDeleteI never got the hate for season one. I thought it was a really strong season and now it's a strong introduction to this bigger universe. It's even understandable that everything is so grounded too in the beginning of this universe.
ReplyDeleteI am not an Olicity lover either. I just do not care much about it. I do think this season romance was over drawn melodrama but so was every other story line. I am sorry if I sounded bitchy up there. I am a bit annoyed when people blame stuff solely on Olicity for season 3's failure and predict future audience loss because of that. I am also tired by Olicity fans who say ratings will tank if Olicity will be done with.
ReplyDeleteIMO the show won't tank if Laurel's BC decides to leave Starling City to create BoP. Nor the show will tank if Oliver and Felicity break up or even if god forbid Diggle or Felicity dies. Last hiatus between seasons Laurel fans ranted they won't watch the show because "fanservice" and Laurel is avoided. Then this season mid season finale Laurel haters ranted they won't watch because Laurel is becoming BC. Boo Hoo. Both did not work. I apologize if I was being disrespectful.
Why did everyone like arrow so much?! IMO it was the worst finale. It was boring, there was no real big cliffhanger and the last two finales were insane. I am very disappointed. A bad finale to a bad season IMO
ReplyDeleteWhat was fantastic about that finale in your opinion if i may ask?
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, the critic's response was good for the Season overall(I mean true papers and not mediocre sites like IGN). I keep sayng this since the "Laurel hate" days. People need to chill. They won't affect anything.
ReplyDeleteI like sites like Tumblr because you can sorround yourself with people who think like you to chat about the aspects of the show you all love. That's what media it's for.
But there's people who still think, for example, that Olicity happened because of fan demand. That's not the case. It happened because the producers just decided to go that way and that's it.
I think people are just used to watch Arrow each wednesday. They won't change that if not for something drastic. Arrow's ratings are steady.
Well firstly, I like it when my theories hold up, and I thought, for the longest, that either Nyssa or Malcolm will become the next 'Ra's al Ghul' by season's end, so I was pleased to see that Malcolm, through all of his machinations throughout this season ended up paying off for himself.
ReplyDeleteAnd then regarding that, I love this conclusion to Ollie's identity crisis. To him, obviously being happy was being in love and I didn't mind this season being a love story between Ollie and Felicity and the two trying to find happiness which obviously won't last, but this is still Ollie's step into becoming Green Arrow.
Add in Black Canary, Thea as Speedy now and Atom being able to shrink and I just enjoyed this season finale massively. Perhaps not as much as I did the last two finales, but this was still good.
I think main issue of season 1 was lack of good memorable villains in the first half. None of them actually stood out until Dark Archer was introduced during mid season finale. As much as liked Tommy and Thea in season 1 their stories did not have anything to do with crime fighting or main story line. Then there was Laurel arc which got slammed. Arrow audience from what I understood likes every character be a part of the main crime fighting story
ReplyDeleteI was re watching season 1 recently and I thought the show had a huge CW vibe with lot of parties and club scenes and dinners where beautiful people dress up and hang out. This changed during season 2. I still get bored by the inter personal relationship in season 1.
Hey nick I wanted to ask something. Are you the same disqus user Nikolas Festa who predicted Brick arc earlier this season? I always wondered where he went and you became more active after mid season finale didn't you? Sorry if I am wrong.
ReplyDeleteOkay. Interesting. I for one did not enjoy the finale at all. I was missing the insanity like in the last two season finales which were beyond excellent. The end felt like a series finale Kind of end and that should not happen in a season finale. Personally, I did not like the season at all. However, I have high hope that season 4 will be awesome
ReplyDeleteHe's my evil twin brother Jajajaja
ReplyDeleteSorry. Yes, i'm him. xD
See the jajaja gave you away. How is your writing going?
ReplyDeleteI like the conspiracy/mystery behind the sabotage of the Queen Gambit and who is responsible....and then this dark archer show up in town get it going
ReplyDeleteThat was the whole point. Season 3 was the end of the Arrow, of Oliver's arc of becoming human and a hero. It will serve as the beginning of a happier, more human Oliver Queen who will take his mantle as Green Arrow. It's why it felt like a finale, because it was for the first three seasons.
ReplyDeleteReally disagree on three being any kind of a failure. Perfect, f*ck no but it's still damn good at times and did great character work.
ReplyDeleteOkaaay. I am not so good with These Comic books. that is probably the problem. Will the complete show change then?!
ReplyDeleteFrom what's been said and what I believe based on the ending it'll be lighter especially where Oliver is concerned. Format wise it's said to be quite different, but we'll know by the comic con trailer.
ReplyDeleteYou're twin brother? (Gasp)
ReplyDeleteUgh, i thought it was the Beatles/Lennon avatars...
ReplyDeleteWriting on the new book is going great. Just came back from a trip to Europe(changed my flight so i could see the finale live) to see some castles and learn about the Irish culture and their fight for independence. I really needed it to get a more real feeling of it.
If everything works well, i should finish in the fall. :)
Thank you.
ReplyDeleteQueen's gambit and undertaking mystery was really good. But the book thing took its own sweet time to come out. Also Quentin's vigilante hunt with Laurel's waving loyalties was not that fun to watch at that time. But now when we go back and see it does work.
ReplyDeleteHmmm okay. I really did not know that. Maybe some change is not bad
ReplyDeletePretty much. I love Arrow but when it first premiered I was incredibly underwhelmed by the pilot and didn't even watch again till Dark Archer and even then it wasn't till 14, when Slade and Felicity and the story picked up that I really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteCool let me know when it happens and when you publish. I will pay money to read your work. :)
ReplyDeleteOh it'll be a fun change.
ReplyDeleteAnd Roy. Roy got a cool arc at the end.
ReplyDeleteI have a love hate relationship with season 3. I loved certain individual episodes in this season even more than season 1 and 2 like Climb, Public Enemy, Broken Arrow, Magician etc. But on the other hand I really disliked the whole Sara dying from Thea's hand and the whole Malcolm drama that started from it. And they didn't give much good explanations to why Malcolm did all that. Everything else is an add on to that. The whole season felt like game of chance.
ReplyDeleteI still fast forward lot of scenes when I re watch Arrow season 1. When Slade became Oliver's mentor the story really picked up. Coincidentally Felicity became prominent and as a result Undertaking took a front seat. Then it was lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteSara's death works for me as a character piece on Malcolm (that whole cowardly dick who narcissistically believes his life is worth destroying his daughter so he could protect her really meets that crazy selfish noble demon bullshit he pulled in one for me) , it's effect on Laurel and because it makes Thea really drive to be better and stronger. And since I view season three as a break everyone and everything done to destroy Oliver and make him discover who he is so this show can be about Green Arrow it worked for me overall. Basically I think it was a necessary evil to wipe the slate and make Oliver become Green Arrow. Contrived and flawed in places? Oh yes but overall satisfying and enjoyable for me.
ReplyDeletePeople were used to Arrow's first two seasons to be driven by the action. Season 3 tried to do something different and be character driven.
ReplyDeleteThe Season did well. Some plots were problematic because they had to drag stories to fit the 23 episodes schedule.
This doesn't mean too much when it's action driven because you just write the villain causing random trouble for the heroes.
But when it's character driven you need to put personal barriers and it will end up dragging the story too far: Olicity's will they/won't they and Laurel's "don't tell daddy" stories were the most damaged my it.
This Season, Ra's al Ghul wasn't the actual bad guy. The Big Bad was Oliver itself and the troubles he had to know who he was: was he the man from the past or the one from the flashbacks? On the finale he realized he's neither. He was broken down and rose as a new person.
Ra's was just an arm on that story, one that forced Oliver to look into himself and seek answers.
I always say that this Season should have had 16 episodes. It would have been SO MUCH BETTER.
It really was. I like it more now because of my connection to the characters. (That and Amell's actingnow seems intentionally wooden to display Oliver's lack of humanity) But I still can't stand that triangle and shitstorm that is Laurel and Oliver.
ReplyDeleteAwwwww! Thank You! :D
ReplyDeleteDon't know if it will ever come out in english, thou xD
Agreed, Actually Amell has talked about wanting only 13 episodes for that reason. So it's less fatty and more streamlined.
ReplyDeleteThey should either do that or have 2 big bads per Season as in one from episodes 1 to 11 and another big bad from 12 to 23.
ReplyDeleteAlso, not on topic, but they just can't have ANOTHER FREAKING YEAR of Starling City being in danger. Thank God the problem was contained and it didn't scalated. I would have been even more repetitive.
I think it the best season arc and most original......I think the approach should be same for season 4 with HIVe/Andy Diggle dive......I want that mystery element again
ReplyDeletewhich episode in season 1 did Slade become Oliver mentor in FB?
ReplyDeleteThe Odyssey I believe. 1x14.
ReplyDeleteYay glad Arrow stayed at 1.0!!! Until October.....😢
ReplyDeletethe rating is consider good because Chicago never get to watch the episode
ReplyDeleteMy biggest hope is that they end those flashbacks. Probably an unpopular opinion but it's the only thing that has ever truly annoyed me about Arrow.
ReplyDeleteToo bad for SPN. It was an excellent and exciting episode.
ReplyDeleteWon't happen. I like them but I wish they were in less episodes.
ReplyDeleteIn episode 13 Oliver meets Slade. Episode 14 Odyssey is Felicity joining TA and that is season 1's primarily flash back episode. In that Slade and Oliver work together for the first time.
ReplyDeleteIt really was. When they said in the beginning of this season they were bringing back the mystery element I was so happy. But their mystery element was who killed Sara and that didn't work out well for me.
ReplyDeleteOh! What language are you writing it?
ReplyDeleteI know all this logically. And I am really satisfied with the way Arrow ended this season. But it was really difficult for me to again and again talk away lot of things that didn't make much sense for me.
ReplyDeletepsst, I responded ;) Sorry for it being late!
ReplyDeleteYou are right. Ra's really was not the big bad of this season. It was Oliver's mind. I guess I expected more from Ra's since he was this iconic villain. Not much LoA inner workings were shown.
ReplyDeleteI don't mind character driven plot at all. But sometimes things were done in the show for plot convenience. For ex: Oliver dies in mid season finale. TA gets the news from Malcolm next episode. They know Malcolm is manipulating Thea. They know he is the reason Oliver is dead. Yet for 4 weeks they do not do anything about Thea. They do not tell Thea her brother is dead or her father is responsible for the same. Fast forward they return from Nanda Parbat after Fallen they are taking care of Thea. Which they should have done even with Brick issue then. Oliver making no arrangements for Thea's safety from Malcolm before going to have a duel with Ra's is another thing I don't understand. All these little things combined makes me frustrated when I think about Arrow season 3. If they finished this arc in 16 episodes it would have been awesome. That being said I am excited for the new tone in season 4.
No probs ;) We have the whole hiatus lying in front of us.
ReplyDeleteI expecting season 4 to have the mystery element because of HIVe/Andy Diggle storyline.....it should work better
ReplyDeleteI'm ok with them in small doses. They just kill the momentum for me.
ReplyDeleteI know. I was afraid it would get adjusted down when factored those numbers out!!
ReplyDeletewell it stayed the same as last week but the rating suck this year because people are done with it. We are getting the same old same old and getting tired of it and with the parts I seen I was like come on there never going too kill off Crowley and hey the last part I seen it so many times its getting old. It ok they have low Rating CW gave it another season so who cares about ratings CW does not.
ReplyDeleteSpanish :P
ReplyDeleteI like the Winchester story this season, but I expect more than 3 episodes of their story. What I am sick of is the 20 episodes of other character stories that we saw this season. Support characters are absolutely needed, but they should support a Winchester story; not have the Winchesters act like stage furniture or cameo bookends. I don't even mind good old MotW episodes, but they should also support the Winchester story in some way (Ask Jeeves, for instance).
ReplyDeleteI look at this season as a complete waste and certainly not The Year of the Deanmon. I'm grateful that the Winchesters get a 3-episode story (equal to Claire BTW), but it doesn't make up for the Winchesters having lost their show.
and that's why the rating suck the fans are sick and Tried of the whole thing the writings bad and all those Supporting Characters who gives a Damn about them and the Eps been boring and nothing Good is ever happing its just Sad and I am Tried of it.
ReplyDeleteVERY GOOD SUPERNATURAL!!!
ReplyDelete
