Thanks to Bruce F for the heads up.
Marvel and Netflix are proud to announce Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Claire Temple in the second season of the Netflix Original Series “Marvel’s Daredevil,” coming in 2016, as part of a larger exclusive TV deal that will also allow her to appear in any of Marvel’s other Netflix original series.
Romantically entangled with Matt Murdock in the series’ first season, Claire helped the hero after more than a few of his brutal battles in the streets of Hell’s Kitchen.
Celebrated for her work in “Top Five,” “Cesar Chavez,” “Sin City,” “Kids,” and much more, fans can currently see her as Claire Temple, a character with ties to many of the Defenders heroes in the comics, in Season 1 of “Marvel’s Daredevil,” only on Netflix.
“After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second,” said Executive Producer/Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb. “Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next.”
"Marvel's Daredevil" is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.
"Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones" comes only to Netflix later this year and "Marvel's Luke Cage" premieres on the streaming service in 2016. Future series exclusively debuting on Netflix include “Marvel’s Iron Fist” and “Marvel’s Defenders,” a mini-series event uniting key characters from the previous series.

I like the idea that the character - a nurse patching up vigilantes - could be the connective tissue for all the Marvel Netflix shows.

ReplyDeleteSo Happy!
Im so happy about this, I only hope she's in more episodes than in season 1.
ReplyDelete*happy dance*
ReplyDeleteShe is awesome as Claire Temple. Also very glad that she will be crossing over to the other companion shows - AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage et al.
The Night Nurse. That is her moniker.
ReplyDeleteYes!
ReplyDeleteGlad we have a confirmation, I was worried when I saw some articles saying she won't be returning.
So glad she will be in the other Netflix shows, a great and easy way to connect the series!
ReplyDeleteDanny Rand will give her plenty of business, I'm sure. Plus, he can pay for medical expenses.
ReplyDeleteYay! I was really hoping for this.
ReplyDeleteClaire and Matt are so organic together
So is she playing Peggy Carter's role but with street heroes now? Cause I'm cool with that.
ReplyDeleteYAY!! Claire was severely underused in the first season so I'm glad she's returning in season 2! More of the Night Nurse is always a plus. Also happy she will be showing up in the other Marvel shows.
ReplyDeleteWhy haven't they cast someone yet?I'm curious to see who nabs that role!
ReplyDeleteWhere have u heard she will be in AKA Jessica Jones?
ReplyDeleteIf you read the full article, it says her deal allows appearances on the other Marvel Netflix shows.
ReplyDeleteIt's likely the most difficult role to fill. They're looking for a believable blonde-haired, blue-eyed, kung fu expert.
ReplyDeleteIt's a definite "needle in a haystack" situation.
it would be great to see her in 3-5 episodes of each Marvel series...a nice connection
ReplyDeleteAge range & height?
ReplyDeleteAgreed.They had sparkling chemistry together!
ReplyDeleteWhat’s more, the deal Dawson signed means Claire can show up on the
ReplyDeletecomic brand’s other Netflix original series, like the upcoming Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones and Marvel’s Luke Cage.

I'm not surprised, there's no creative team for that show yet.
ReplyDeleteBetween 5'11" and 6ft. tall, and late twenties early thirties.
ReplyDeleteIt's not due until late 2017 or was it early 2018?
ReplyDeleteOne thing is for sure,He's going to be my next man-crush going by these descriptions.LOL!
ReplyDeleteThinking of applying........after some drastic changes?
ReplyDelete:P ;) :)
Great news, I love Daredevil and Claire
ReplyDeleteNot sure.
ReplyDeleteYes ! Claire was awesome! I want more of her ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info.I'll keep drooling in my imagination until they cast someone.
ReplyDeleteThat's great! I really enjoyed her character and was worried it would turn out to be a one season job.
ReplyDeleteAnd also Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist!
Yeah, from an physical standpoint I can certainly see that. Like you said though, the acting is a question mark. I haven't seen him do any heavy lifting in that department. I would suggest Jake McLaughlin from NBC's Believe but the same acting caveat applies.
ReplyDeleteWill she be in more than 4-5 episodes and actually have a story line, rather than be used as a love interest and then disappear when she's not? Not gonna lie, she was one of my reasons for checking out the show and the way her character was handled really disappointed me.
ReplyDeleteForgot about him... He may work as well, yeah.
ReplyDeleteLike I've said before... I think that the quality of script and production level can make mediocre actors look much better than their previous projects which may have been subpar production or script wise.
Charlie Cox was incredible and I would have never pictured him as an action hero before Daredevil. Maybe that's the key, look for an actor not an action hero actor?
Who knows though.... Jake or Cam, or another actor on that level may be great in the role if the script and production are great.
I hope she's better utilized. She was probably my least favorite character of the first season.
ReplyDeleteYEEEEEEES! So many wonderful news lately! This is awesome!
ReplyDeleteCox going from Boardwalk Empire to Daredevil was a surprise and it turned out well so I can't fault their selection methods. Besides, since Iron Fist is another mask-wearing character, there's a little more leeway to be had with the employment of a good stunt double.
ReplyDeleteThank god!
ReplyDeleteyesssssssssssssssssssssss
ReplyDeleteSeriously?Everyone loved her.
ReplyDeleteCool! She was one of the bright points in the show for me. I just hope that she appears in more episode.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised, but quite happy.
ReplyDeleteexactly the point of her character
ReplyDeletei thought that was a given
ReplyDeleteyeah she kind of had to.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say everyone. The most love I've seen for the character is on this site. But to each their own, I just wasn't a fan.
ReplyDeleteWas there any actual doubt that Rosario Dawson would return? Here's to hoping she appears in more than a handful of episodes, and has more than 30 minutes of screentime this time around.
ReplyDeleteCool that she'll be appearing in the other Netflix/Marvel shows too. There's some interesting things that could be done there.
Is the flying microwave another bright point for you?
ReplyDeleteYou mean the one that's flying toward your face?
ReplyDelete??? There's this corridor scene when he attacks Russians and a flying microwave hits one. I don't think it's flying toward anybody's face, more like across the screen. It's the moment when my mom fell in love with this series and she strongly hates movies and TV series based on comics.
