Coming off a five-year run at the helm of their USA Network action drama series Covert Affairs, Matt Corman and Chris Ord have joined the midseason CW drama Containment as executive producers and co-showrunners alongside Julie Plec. Plec, who wrote the Containment pilot based on a Belgian format, will need help next season when she will have three series on the CW, Containment and returning dramas The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.

I wasn't a devoted CA fan but I watched a bunch of eps and I it was solid. Now if they can get Chris to drop by that would be a game changer.
ReplyDeleteOnce again Julie Plec is looking for others to do her job? Well, at least the show can only benefit from that.
ReplyDeleteHey at least it's Cord and Corman, and they're badass showrunners.
ReplyDeleteI don't know their work, to be honest. I meant that the less Plec writes, the better for the show. I'm sure these guys are better. But I still think I won't watch.
ReplyDeleteShe has two shows.
ReplyDeleteMaybe this will alleviate some people's fears.
ReplyDeleteI was already going to watch the show but now my hopes have gone up a little bit. Plec needs to have co-showrunners. TVD was at its best when Williamson run the show with her.
ReplyDeleteDid you know Williamson only wrote 8 episodes in season one, 4 in season two, and one in season three and the rest of the time was off working on other projects.
ReplyDeleteI dont wath USA so idk these people, but okay. Plec needs help so w/e.
ReplyDeleteStill he was involved in the decision making and the plot. There's plenty of interviews from the first two seasons where he talks about the characters and the storylines. Most of the time showrunners don't write the episodes but have final word on everything.
ReplyDeleteFor example the 100 showrunner (Jason Rothenberg) has only written 5 episodes of the show so far but he has final word on every storyline.
I'm far from being her biggest fan but, much like Shonda Rhimes and Greg Berlanti, seeing as she is in fact running three shows, needing people to run the day to day stuff is only normal.
ReplyDeleteDepends on how much she'll still be involved though...
ReplyDeleteCA didn't really grab me, but okay... *shrugs*
