ReplyDeleteI have no idea how they can do multiple seasons of Containment unless it's an anthology show, which I don't believe it is. But well, this summer we will have the third season of Under the Dome so I guess Containment could do something like that too.

It's been a while since I saw the Belgian version, but if I remeber correctly they didn't explain how the outbreak started. Maybe I just don't remember it.

ReplyDeleteFrom what I could tell they gender-swapped a few roles and changed a few characters physically (no big deal really). But it still looks like it could be fairly similar.
It's hard to say though since it is just a short clip and mostly pilot material...

ReplyDeleteContainment : 8.5/10 - It looks pretty good and it doesn't look CW at all actually. I was also expecting it to look way more Julie Plec esque but I couldn't even feel her in this trailer, so I am actually very hopeful. There as a strange sense of been there done that for me though which brought the trailer down just a tiny bit, but I still liked it much and will for sure be watching.

ReplyDeleteThey could always rewrite the character and make her not be a villain. Remember how they rewrote Shado's character in Arrow.
ReplyDeleteThey should keep Containment limited - just like The 100. No more than 13-15 episodes. If it's a hit and gets renewed, no harm in waiting for it to air once again in Jan/Feb.

ReplyDeleteWhat I have heard from deadline is that a special presentation was being shot for that purpose, 3 minutes or something, so likely a big scene that tends to showcase how the show will be like.

ReplyDeleteIt really doesn't look. I assume it will have some emotional triggers and crying moments but it really seems fast paced with a bunch of mystery and twists.

Deadline says the pilot for crazy is being retooled. One actor dropped out, there was an explicit scene removed, the overall language had to be brought down and additional scenes were needed to make it 1 hour.

ReplyDeleteSome scenes really look exactly the same as in the original series, so I'm guessing it's more of a remake.
ReplyDeleteThe original version was 10 episodes and only 1 season. It had an ending (sort of), but there were still questions that could be answered in a second series. But I have no idea if they will make the American series a mini-series, or if they attend to actually make several seasons.

ReplyDeleteContainment is a pass for me. It looks too convoluted for JP to sustain any quality. Not to mention,it's a short season so the story will have to be fast paced. I don't trust it. I don't care for any of the actors either.

I say that as someone who was not very excited for it....
It's fairly obvious the present regime at CW knows DC shows get better ratings since casts of arrow/flash/LOT are all over the upfront.

I don't mind Ray honesty. His problem was that he felt out of place way too often in the early portion of Arrow this year; also, whoever thought that it was a good idea to introduce the next big hero as the guy who takes the company from Oliver and tries to steal his girlfriend was insane. I think that if you were to take that away, people would like him more. And he would have been a popular character had he been born on Flash. His light tone works much better there than on the darker Arrow, as seen in the crossover episode, at least in my opinion.

I won't judge by a trailer. You have to see beyond, it's what I didn't with The Flash and Jane the virgin and look now....These two shows are among the biggest success of the CW this year.I'm glad that CW is trying "something else". There will be failure but at least they tried.

I agree with you. Ray's actually grown quite a bit on me now. But in the beginning he was awkwardly placed as this romantic false lead that Felicity visited from time to time. He gelled a lot better on the Flash. I think his dorky humour fit better there.
ReplyDeleteI am worried with the size of my list, I can't possibly watch all those. And it is especially bad because there is only one half hour there, the rest are hour longs. But only 6 of my top tier list are premiering in the early fall anyway, so that is more doable.

I really don't know what to do about LoT, I adore the premise (like most comic book shows) but I don't like the idea of it sharing a universe with Arrow & The Flash since I don't watch either and don't like their casts. With the exception of Caity Lotz I love the cast for LoT. It doesn't look romance heavy either which is big plus.

ReplyDeleteIt was not just the matter of taking the company and having a relationship with Felicity. The dialogues and the flippant nature when everything else on Arrow was so intense didn't work at all. Agreed that he would have been so much better on The Flash.

ReplyDeleteI was really looking forward to Emerald City last year so I was glad they picked it up again, I hope the changes they make don't put me off though, I'm really interested in a dark version of the Oz story.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Once the positive review comes up people will tune in. Also people react really emotionally when the show is really dark. But now that all the conflict is over people will be more receptive to it.
