Thanks to Mr. Edmodo for the heads up
It came down to the wire but I hear that Stana Katic is finalizing a deal to return to Castle for the ABC drama’s upcoming eighth season. Katic joins fellow Castle star Nathan Fillion who had already committed to come back. Both actors needed new contracts as their original ones expired at the end of this season.
Securing both Fillion and Katic will keep one of TV’s favorite couples – Rick Castle (Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Katic) – intact. It also ensures a proper resolution to the cliffhanger in last night’s Season 7 finale where Beckett was left pondering an offer to run for the New York State Senate. Additionally, it provides stability on the veteran series, which is transitioning to new showrunners for Season 8, Castle writers Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter.

Sorry, but I don't see any updates here. It says that she is 'finalizing' the deal meaning that it still isn't done yet. That's exactly what she was doing in the article posted the other day.
ReplyDeleteWell there's a shock.

ReplyDeleteEverything is perfect once again :-)
...and finally it is officially said/written, so everyone (who did) can stop worrying and/or freaking out about Beckett possibly leaving or whatever. Though because of the wording, and the fact that this statement does not come from the network/actress herself directly, some people will keep being worried...
ReplyDeleteSo relieved. The show wouldn't have been the same.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm glad! After that POI disappointment I really needed some good news.
ReplyDeleteI´ll say great news when it´s really official!:)
ReplyDeleteThey could have replaced her with Kristen Bell.
ReplyDeleteIt's nothing new in it yet. They are "finalizing" - that's what was a few weeks ago too. The news will be when it is officially announced.
ReplyDeleteGuys, please make an annoucement when it will be official and not "she's finalizing a deal" . No news here.
ReplyDeletehow can she, when she isn't in the USA/Canada?

Will wait until I hear it from ABC official like
ReplyDeleteEver heard of a Fax machine?
ReplyDeleteoh, I believe she comes back, was never worried about... wanted only to show with this link that she is/was busy "with her wedding" perhaps... this link sent me a good friend about wedding and "sign" (not from Deadline) last week, but I didn't want to publish, because wasn't sure...and now can't find the link about renew. Sorry
ReplyDeletethink so ;-)
ReplyDeleteGuess I spoke too soon. After the weeks of waiting to see, they just announced that Stana Did ink her contract. Nothing has been mentioned that I've seen as to how long any contracts were for though. Guess we'll know soon enough!
ReplyDeleteWhats with some people here? Its stated in plain english, its OFFICIAL, she signed on. In other words she's back for an 8th season. sheesh!
ReplyDeleteIt was probably a one year deal with options.
ReplyDeleteokay NOW i can relax and be ecstatic
ReplyDeleteThere it is from Stana twitter's account....
ReplyDeleteStana tweeted not too long ago that she has signed. Sorry no good at copying links on my iPad but it's out there and official.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't worried that she wasn't going to be back for season 8. But it's nice to know that she cares for Beckett. By asking the new show runners of there plans for Beckett.
ReplyDeleteThank God!!! It wouldn't be the smae without her!
ReplyDeleteNow I can breathe at last. Really glad that Stana signed for Season 8 :)
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteYay! Would definitely not have been the same without her :) ♥
ReplyDeleteOne good thing came out of all this contracts business (and that it seemed like there was a possibility—though very small from the beginning—that this was the show's last season): no freakin' cliffhanger!
This was a no-brainer. I'm glad that Stana and ABC were able to work something out. The show would be DOA without her for next season. Now lies the problem that Paul Lee says season 8 isn't the last, but they are stuck signing talent year to year to expensive new deals after their initial contracts expired. ABC should have tried to sign Nathan and Stana to 2 year deals like what CBS has been doing with the cast of Criminal Minds. At least that provides some talent holding security. You never know, Nathan or Stana could bail next May.
ReplyDeleteWhat Paul Lee said now it has no effect on what they will do in next May. Just in this February he said that they see a lot of potential in the future of Revenge, and look at where is the show now.
ReplyDeleteLove Stana Katic she's the best and Nathan Fillion is also the best.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why it took longer with her. What was the problem. Disagreements over the storylines?
