Big Little Lies, starring Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, was the highest-profile limited series The Television Academy's 23rd Hall Of Fame Induction Galapackage to hit the marketplace since Nic Pizzolatto’s True Detective, which had Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson attached. Now Big Little Lies, written by Emmy winner David E Kelley, followed True Detective to the same network destination, HBO, with the same straight-to-series commitment.
Big Little Lies is based on the book of the same name by Australian author Liane Moriarty. It is described as a subversive comedy which tells the tale of three mothers of kindergartners whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.
