So onto TV. Since the Arrow finale just aired this week, what can you tell us about next season?
Guggenheim: Ah, good question. It will take a lighter tone. That’s pretty much the only thing I say without spoiling it.
We’ve been working for about a month now in the writers’ room, talking about season 4, and I think that one thing we all collectively understood was season 3 beginning with Sara’s death, because it’s the death of a major character on the show, it set a tone for the remainder of the season. And I’m not the least bit apologetic for that tone. I happen to like dark and I like the fact that Arrow is a pretty dark show particularly for a network show. That said, every year you want to mix things up and there was sort of a collective desire on all of our parts to try to inject a little bit more lightness into the show, a little bit more humor. It’s not going to radically change. The show’s still going to be the show but in terms of tone we’re coming off a very very hard season for all of our characters. We wanted to try to mix it up a little bit.

If they think Arrow is dark....
ReplyDeleteSo the happy ending will be longer than we thought?
I don't know how I feel about this. I mean, I'm like 99% done with Oliver/Felicity as a couple and I know that has to do with this change of tone, so I don't think this is good. But we'll see; but I hope to never see anyone(!!) riding onto the sunset unless it's a series finale, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteHas he learned not to exaggerate?
ReplyDeleteKnew it. And excited for it. Happy Oliver will be great.
ReplyDeleteHe literally just said it won't fundamentally change just get lighter that's not exaggerating.
ReplyDeleteAs long as he keeps kicking ass, I don't care if he's smiling while doing it.
ReplyDeleteKinda why it happened it was a finale for seasons 1-3, Why it's going to be lighter: Oliver and these people just went through hell and they're rid of all of the threats to the city, and in Oliver's case thanks to his time with the team he's actually realized he wants to be a person is for the first time in eight years happy. And with Oliver happier and a lighter hero (he will be Green Arrow after all). They'll probably be a lot less angst next season. So this will be good.
ReplyDeleteAh God how Marc stirs things up. He can't go too light with the show who's next big nemesis is going to be a guy called Damian Darhk and we can't forget HIVE!!
ReplyDeleteyeh, the show was never really that dark, especially this season because the league really did not give that tone at all.
ReplyDeleteI guess that's good? More banter! Oliver and Felicity being a power couple (I will forgive everything if we are just done with the drama) Thea being snappy and not too lazarus crazed., Laurel getting cheeky and having fun concussing baddies!
ReplyDeleteThose things will most likely happen.
ReplyDeleteBut happiness and couples staying together is boring ( especially on a Superhero show ) and drives viewers away by the truck load .... and then it's a hop, skip, and a jump until cancellation.
ReplyDeleteBring on the drama and turmoil. This is Arrow for God's sake NOT Jane the Virgin.
Here's hoping.
ReplyDeleteUgh, What is really boring is two people not getting together to just create "tension". I'm so over the myth that happy couple's don't bring drama, you can create tension and actually good plots without having to be about romance.
ReplyDeleteArrow is a superhero show, not a teen drama.
Nah I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteRight. Because love drama forced over several seasons unnecessarily really get's fans happy. Watch Smallville after four seasons of Clark and Lana bullshit fans were done with them as a couple and hater her. You're right this is Arrow, a show that for the past three seasons has been about Oliver;s journey back to humanity and becoming a hero and now thanks to his friends and family (and even enemies) he's reached that and is now able to be a happy, better hero and person without all the pain. He deserves happiness, the show needs to continue evolving and not everything should always be angsty and gloom. I feel this season was a necessary evil of pain to get these people to a stronger better place and I want to see that.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I have to agree with these guys. The belief that a couple needs to be miserable, kept apart, or broken up again and again causes television to be a lot less fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually not against this idea. It seems like 99% of superhero shows have to be dark and depressing these days. It's lazy writing in my opinion because they think there is no other way to do it. You can create the drama you need and not make the characters and their lives miserable. It gets to the point where you're wondering what kind of life they are fighting for because the writers never actually let them have one.
ReplyDeletePoorly written romantic stories drive away viewers, whether they're together or not; there have been shows that were better when a couple was being kept apart or building up to a relationship, and those that were better once they just got the couple together; and some did fine on both sides of the line. It depends on the show. Sara and Oliver being together did just fine, because relationship melodrama wasn't taking up time from the main plot because they didn't have any - or, any that wasn't hero related. I like Felicity and Oliver, but I'd rather their romance become a little more background next year, and with this whole Oliver reinvention and Diggle issues and them not being in angsty relationship drama mode, that seems like a possibility. That's what I think will best serve the show - quiet background relationship, with less constant, story intrusive angst.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying that Oliver and Felicity being a happy couple couple end up hurting the show isn't a possibility, but neither Lauriver nor Olicity's angst has been well received. I don't think giving a stable relationship a shot is the worst idea. And in the time of The Flash and the brand new LoT to crossover and cross-promote with, this is the time to take some risks and try to find the happier version of Green Arrow. I don't think the viewers are going anywhere fast, and they can course correct later if they're wrong.
Also, Jane is single on JtV and has much relationship turmoil, so that comment kinda makes no sense.
Which I don't want that. I want either them to be happy or done. Not a fan of romance angst being repeated. Didn't mind for three because to Oliver's character it made sense to me. But now that he's happy and not afraid to be Oliver Queen it wouldn't.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure what with Oliver's mindset and a lighter tone (and from al the TV I've seen) it'll be a less angsty romance element.
ReplyDeleteOh lord, Clark and Lana. I loved those two when the show started, but I was so done by season four it's not even funny. By the time they were together with everything out in the open in season seven, I was fast-forwarding through all of their scenes and considering ditching the show, which I almost never do based on a couple. I mean, seven seasons it took to get there, and then come to find out they're a terrible couple. They're always the worry I have in the back of my mind when I watch the romantic relationships Arrow or The Flash - please, not another Clana.
ReplyDeleteWell with Iris and Barry at least they'll be more like Clark and Lois. But what with Oliver now being himself and a more open person I doubt (and hop- because I really don't want that Clana or Laurel and Oliver type shit again ever) it will happen. Very much doubt it.
ReplyDeleteThis is what I'm hoping, and I think it's a possibility. I just have constant skepticism in all TV shows because you never know when one is going to pull something crazy out of nowhere and surprise you in bad ways - it's happened a couple times too often so I'm constantly wary. But I think this is the best scenario, and pretty hopeful that's what will happen.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's lazy, but if it didn't happen then Oliver's arc would be for nothing.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm guessing they want their fans of The Flash to start watching Arrow? Marketing-wise, that's a really smart move, and it's bound to pay off. Too bad I'm in the minority here and I gave up on The Flash because of its lighter tone :/ Hopefully, Arrow won't completely lose its edge!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm very much hoping you're right. :D
ReplyDeleteI sure a lighter tone is great especially comic book green arrow fans......but I wonder if it will impact the rating going up or down. I doubt it will be 100% light in tone especially with the mystery of Andy/Andrew diggle death will be dark
ReplyDeleteRight? Arrow is darker than The Flash but it is by no means depressingly dark like some other shows I've watched.
ReplyDeleteArrow is more angsty than dark. I am happy next season will take a lighter tone. Still I am sure it won't be Flash level happy. The best part about late season 1 and first half of season 2 was when Oliver, Felicity and Diggle fighting crime and enjoying it. They really were having fun and there were lot of banter even with Roy/Thea and Quentin until mirakuru happened. If we can see everyone enjoy working together while kick serious ass of villains it will be better for the show.
ReplyDeleteNow regarding Oliver/Felicity relationship status. Since they took their long angsty route to get together it would be a relief to see the relationship work for an extended period of time in the background of the show. We need less romantic angst for at least one season. I am excited.
I'm more concerned with the story crafting than I am with the tone. The show's story was all over the place this past season. There were episodes where they had to write characters out of character in order to have story work the way they wanted. So, I'm really hoping they fix that first. But I think a lighter fits with the high level paradigm of the show from its inception. We started with happy go lucky Oliver being ship wrecked and a majorly PTSD affected Oliver in the present. This implied that as the show continued we would see the flashback Oliver progressing to PTSD Oliver and in the present day PTSD Oliver would heal. A lighter tone in the season four present day story with a darker flashback story fits in with that perfectly.
ReplyDeleteThe other bit of the interview I reacted to was his response to the criticism that the show spent this season basically telling Batman Begins. He admitted to it. That kind of surprised me and kind of different. The statement that "the story really is Batman Begins" says a lot about why the quality of writing dropped so much this season.
Just occurred to me....I'm betting lighter tone means Oliver/Felicity romance stuff. Shoot.
I really doubt the ratings are gonna go down.
ReplyDeleteThat'll happen. With Oliver happy and everyone back in a good place (Diggle seems okay with Oliver again) it will be definitely lighter all around probably. Except maybe for some lazarus pit effects (but Oliver will help Thea through that).
ReplyDeleteThis story is nothing like Batman Begins. Season one (which was more of a take on Green Arrow Year one) was more like that. This borrowed the heir and Ra's elements from Batman but modified them.
ReplyDeleteI want this to happen so badly. I am super excited for this.
ReplyDeleteit can be consider a tactic to get more Flash viewers/casul viewers to tone in who dislike miserable show with little happy moments
ReplyDeleteprobably not there may be some who will leave for other reasons.....maybe the rating will go up because the lighter tone could bring Flash only viewers in and casul/general fans
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know. I think I have Batman Begins in my boxes somewhere but I don't remember it. I did remember Ra's from it. My comment was based on his statement in the interview. Glad to know I mis-interpreted it. Though it doesn't alter my opinion of the writing this season...an opinion based solely on my viewing of episodes of the show.
ReplyDeleteSo what are some example of "lighter tone"? maybe some jokes? bonding? party?
ReplyDeleteIf by lighter tone, they mean even more Felicity/Olicity, then I'm out. They ruined the show this year by turning it into a horribly written fan fiction.
ReplyDeleteThe writers apparently decided to listen to the Olicity shippers and crafted the whole season around Felicity. Hence, Diggle, Thea, Roy and Laurel barely got any screen time. It was all Felicity with Ray, or Felicity with Oliver, or Fleicity pining over Oliver, or Felicity crying or Felicity chastising Oliver. She became the main character of the show and it sidelined everyone else. We barely got to see Thea or Laurel's transformations or Diggle's family life and how that effected him or anything to do with Roy, because they had to shoehorn Felicity into every episode.
I think what he said was the whole journey of Oliver to becoming Green Arrow is like Batman Begins and not just this season. Or that's what I got from that interview.
ReplyDeleteI hear you about OOC moments for all characters. Remember Diggle telling Oliver to let Roy go.*rolls eyes*. Surprisingly only two characters who were not OOC was Laurel and Thea. Still Laurel got burdened with that horrible lying to daddy story line.
Arrow lost its main (and apparently best) writer to Flash, and must have replaced him with some pretty untalented people, who:
ReplyDeleteJust copied other superhero movies. Batman Begins - the whole Ra's storyline. Iron Man 3 - Felicity in the suit, Oliver quitting and riding off into the sunset. Iron Man 2 - Felicity now running Ray's/Oliver's company.
Then they pandered to the extremely vocal, yet minority fan base, and basically turned the show into a horribly written fan fiction.
But I truly think it was decided even before Flash. Because even from season 1 they used to say in interviews the show will progressively get lighter as seasons progress and flashbacks will get darker at the same time.
ReplyDeleteNothing like Batman Begins? The whole Ra's storyline is a carbon copy. Ra's trains Batman, wants him to run the league and to destroy his city. Sounds exactly like this season of Arrow to me.
ReplyDeleteThis season was a carbon copy of Batman Begins. From Ra's training Batman, wanting him to run the league and wanting him to destroy his home city. It's an exact replica.
ReplyDeleteI think ratings will increase if they show a good team effort with everyone working together and having fun doing it. It all depends on how effective of a villain Damien Darhk is. My prediction is Arrow will go up.
ReplyDeleteI never understand this lighter tone.....does it mean more humor/jokes and less sad scene like a death of someone......maybe season 4 will end with no one close personally died for once
ReplyDeleteIn S03 they tried to push the character development and make them challenged each others decision. It wasn't maybe executed that well but now each character has its place in the team.
ReplyDeleteI also really hope that now they cna fight their enemies and do it as a good team. I also hope they will go against low criminals but still that every mission will be part of the larger mythology of the season.
I hope Olicity will be drama free for at least the first half of the season.
It means less brooding and internal conflict for Oliver. He will not be second guessing himself and feeling guilty for every turned rock in the show. He will be more content with his role as a vigilante and hero which he was not till now. Its all about Oliver actually. Not romance and not others. He will have more peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteI actually love love the dark Tone but for some reason I still prefer the flash that has a pretty Light tone so i am actually very happy they are going in that direction. Hopefully season 4 is way better than that mess in season 3
ReplyDeleteI don't mind lighter, i just don't want TELENOVELA with focus on couples
ReplyDeleteNExt year i want to watch Arrow,Flash and Supergirl together. Not Arrow with Jane The Virgin
We all knew this was going to happen because GA is consider to be funny.....but I think not enough fan read the Mike Greil GA which is much darker and willing to kill criminals.
ReplyDeleteThat is what I want. A good team vibe. Where everyone has interpersonal relationship. Mix and match team ups. Let the girls enjoy with each other. I wonder what role Lyla would play? I am still hoping for her to be the floater. But I wonder what she can do in LoT.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. Especially about the Olicity stuff.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Oliver should stop trying to protect other from getting hurt like telling Laurel she not a hero.......strangely Oliver is fine with Thea fighting crime but not Laurel.....something change. You can say parts of the finale was light
ReplyDeleteThis season has been getting crushed everywhere. If next season starts out similar to this one, as in Felicity/Olicity being the main storyline, I definately see a ratings dip. If they put that in the background and get back to focusing on the team and the hero stuff, I could see an increase.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I love the Flash too, and the season finale looks like it's going to be insane.
ReplyDeleteAs far as Arrow, It's gonna be hard for season 4 to be any worse than season 3, which was horrendous.
Think Lyla is limited to recurring cause of baby Sara. I would be all in for her to be the Floater if there wasn't for Sara. Also I'm interested how th Floater will work if LoT travels through time.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued to see what will they bring in for the S04 premiere and force Oliver to put on his costume again.
I think regarding Thea when they were in Lian Yu Oliver was really impressed with her training. And that is why he has no issue with Thea being on the field. She is adequately trained. Where as when Laurel started she was acting like an adrenaline junkie trying to mask her pain. He was justified to be concerned. But the way he went about it was wrong. But with Nyssa's training now she is better. I wish Nyssa had stayed back in Starling to train Laurel more.
ReplyDeleteI sure Nyssa will return to Starling......I think Malcolm will let her leave.....they have a love-hate relationship. I think Malcolm respect her at least to have her protect Thea for him
ReplyDeleteIf Lyla joins a group like ARGUS again Sara can be with baby sitters while she travel to other shows. It worked while she worked for ARGUS and went to missions.
ReplyDeleteMy guess for season 4 premiere is Diggle will go mia, get kidnapped or will be targetted by an assassin from HIVE which will force Oliver to return back.
I don't think Oliver is going to leave for 6 months and then return....I kinda expect the time jump to be shorter this time because it not the same as season 1 and 2
ReplyDeleteI think it will be 6 months. Unless something happens on Flash that prevents from that to happen. I hope it is 6 months then Laurel can become kickass without getting hit every other moment and people will stop cribbing.
ReplyDeleteI think Rip will be the Floater, seems like the most likely option. I also think he will be the one to star in this years crossover event. Starting to build the LoT team.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really great guess for S04. Ttbt anything is better than C. Vertigo.
There are a couple of DC government agency beside ARGUS she could join if she wishes to
ReplyDelete(sigh) A) That entire movie is an adaptation of a comic storyline. And Arrow adapted that and changed it, not Batman Begins. And no it's not since his character arc and here he end up is completely different.
ReplyDeleteSA said it was a character who originated on Arrow. So it cannot be Rip. My guess is we will get to see LoT team in next weeks Flash finale where they will travel back in time to stop Eobard from messing the timeline.
ReplyDeleteIf lighter means more focus on Olicity, you will lose me as a fan. I don't really care about the tone, I just care about quality.
ReplyDeleteIt'll mean less angst so.. good thing.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was confirmed that Diggle would move around
ReplyDeleteI hope Lyla joins some law enforcement agency. It is wrong to make a kick ass soldier like Lyla to be benched and become a stay at home mom. No offense to any stay at home moms. I am an engineer who decided to stay back at home for few years because of mother hood. But Lyla resigned from ARGUS due to ethical difference. Not because she wanted to take a break.
ReplyDeleteIt's actually bee great ratings wise for CW even better than two I believe. (Sigh) Olicity will not be the main story. HIVE, getting justice for Andy diggle, Darhk and the effects of the pit. And Thea's main story was Sara's death, Oliver's death and fallout, being hunted by the cops, and joining and taking down Ra's. And much more importantly the most impactful relationships story wise were Thea/Oliver, Ra's/Oliver and Malcolm and Oliver and Thea those drove the season not Olicity.
ReplyDeleteNo. It was just confirmed that Diggle would crossover to the new show at some point just like it was confirmed Felicity will too. That does not mean they will be floaters. Diggle has an important storyline on Arrow. I don't think they will make him a floater.
ReplyDeleteI doubt that's happening.
ReplyDeleteLeave it Graydon. Let it be.
ReplyDeleteOhh forgot about that. But if my theory about Olicity being Rip's parents is truth, he than did originated on the Arrow. JK , maybe not but lets say I'm JK. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think they will give us the scene from the promo. Maybe Rip and co will appear and stop Wells/Eobard but as the Legend team they will be.
But it's true! And this pisses me off. It's so easy to get this. Literally every big story move and almost all character actions have nothing to do with them.
ReplyDeleteAnd everything about the relationship was about Oliver being content at the end of the season. So much happened this season. There is no point discussing about this.
ReplyDeleteYet Felicity had more screen time this year than anybody besides Oliver. So many interesting things happened that could've been shown (like Laurels transformation to BC, or Thea's to RA) that barely got any screen time.
ReplyDeleteAs far as ratings go, yes this year was slightly above season 2, but the Flash had a lot to do with boosting the ratings of Arrow. In fact, if you take out the crossover episode (which got the highest ratings of the season) then this year is about the same or even slightly lower rated than last year.
Considering Season 3B i wouldn't be surprised. But i really hope i am wrong, i want to love the show as much as i loved it during S1+2
ReplyDeleteRip is from East London and future. In comics he is the son of Booster Gold. And I hope to god he is not Oliver/Felicity's son. I cannot imagine the fandom meltdown if that happens. If those two are having kids in the future lets not know about it now. Don't joke like that. It stresses me out. Now I have to eat chocolate.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I said from the future when they are already a team. Did you see the comic promo for Flash finale? Eobard is working on a time capsule and there is a portal or wormhole in front of him. That was shown in LoT first look. So I foresee them coming to help Barry and stop Eobard to maintain the timeline.
I certainly hope so!
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 was really terrible
ReplyDeleteGo look at the amount of screen time each character got this year and then tell me Felicity wasn't the focus of the season.
ReplyDeleteWhich is so surprising coming off of the absolutely phenomenal season 2. It was so disappointing.
ReplyDeleteLess grumpy Oliver, more happy-pie face Ollie.
ReplyDeleteVery very true! Season 2 was amazing
ReplyDeleteWell Lyla is comic character and superhero......a bit wasted as a stay at home mom......also need to repair relationship with Oliver too
ReplyDeleteTHANK GOD! About 75% of the episodes this season left me heartbroken and/or crying. I am dangerously dehydrated lol. I want them all to be more relaxed. More jokes. Hanging out together. Saving the city and enjoying being heroes once more. Oliver and Dig becoming brothers again. Good stories for Felicity and Dig. Lyla joining the action more. Oliver and Felicity managing the company together. More coherent flashbacks. Season 2 Quentin back and no more Lance family drama. More about Thea and the LP effects. Malcolm dead :D
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping they have a tone in-between season 1 Arrow and season 1 Flash. It would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be wrong.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Malcolm is dead, there is only Ra's al Ghul now.
ReplyDeleteLOL Malcolm won't be dead. I don't want him to die. I want him to suffer. Death will be too easy for him. I want Sara, Nyssa and Laurel to kick him like a football.
ReplyDeleteOh Graydon!! :D
ReplyDeleteI know I know. I couldn't help it.
ReplyDeleteI second this idea hahahaha
ReplyDeletebut he has an army of assasins on his side it will require the entire justice league to take him down and those loyal to him
ReplyDeleteThey clearly stated at the begining of S3 that Oliver/Felicity relationship will be an arc throughout the whole season 3. That arc is finished now. Now we will get angst through Oliver/Diggle relationship, there is always the Lance family that is continuing in S4, and the after effects of the pit on Thea. Also HIVE, DD and Felicitys dad.
ReplyDeleteHe wouldn't be the Graydon we all know and love if he didn't do it lol
ReplyDeleteYou think there will be more effects of the pit on Thea? They seemed to brush by that this year and I figured there has to be more to it as well.
ReplyDeleteMeh. He is not Eobard or Vandal Savage. Those ladies can take him.
ReplyDeleteI just want him to resurrect Sara as an apology and work with Oliver to fight Darhk and potentially shaft him.
ReplyDeleteDid you see the look on Nyssa's face when she kneeled in front of him? Oh she's going to make him suffer :D
ReplyDeleteHe is just gonna have some lazarus pit stashed away somewhere so he will be revived. Barrowman cant be killed.
ReplyDeleteNo way he is going to resurrect Sara who could come after him in pit induced madness or otherwise. He cares about his hide too much to do that.
ReplyDeleteHe is Ra's al Ghul. And is immortal he'll be back. To ham it up.
ReplyDeleteBut at least someone would make him hurt bad. I am imagining it and smiling.
ReplyDeleteThen how would she be resurrected? Unless Darhk has a pit an Nick's theory is right.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder how they're going to have the pit effect Sara on LoT.
ReplyDeleteI don't want him dead. He is too entertaining to die. I want him hurt badly. *evil grin*
ReplyDeleteMG already mentioned it that in S4 we will get the aftermath of Thea using the pit. I mean Roy didnt go all crazy after he was injected with Mirakuru right away but it took some time.
ReplyDeleteYou know Ra's is not a name but a title, right? It's not like he changed his name from Malcolm to peter or something lol. He's still Malcolm. Just like Oliver was still Oliver.
ReplyDeleteShe is probably gonna be revive on Arrow at begining S4. Maybe MM trying to placate Nyssa.
ReplyDeleteI'm cool with that. Muhahaha.
ReplyDeleteHe did? Cool. Yeah and that's true about Roy. I forgot about that.
ReplyDeleteOr Rip could go back in time take her body and put it in pit at some opportune moment or some other pit. Anything can happen. But I don't think it will be Malcolm who does that. I like Nick's theory too. That will be fun to see.
ReplyDeleteRemember when they were barbecuing him above the coal in 3x15? Ah the feels lol
ReplyDeleteWhen you become Ra's it becomes your name. It's basically the same thing. Under league law he is no longer Malcolm.
ReplyDeleteI hope Oliver decide to give Ra's al Ghul so he can get intel on HIVE/Darkh I sure Oliver must have some plan that could cripple both HIVE and the LOA at the end
ReplyDeleteThat would be interesting. Im super curious to see how that's all gonna play out.
ReplyDeleteWe actually never got to see much of the torture. We get to see Oliver being skewered and prodded all the time. I just want the ladies to bitch slap him.
ReplyDeleteWe can call him jerk face if Malcolm bothers them.
ReplyDeleteBecause we get Oliver shirtless. Since we were denied Oliver on the salmon ladder.
ReplyDeleteQuestion and I know this is not possible probably but could you translate jerk face into Arabic so it sounds cool and fits his new position?
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping for a more tortured Malcolm in season 4.
ReplyDeleteI don't think taking down LoA will be on Oliver's agenda unless they operate in Starling City. I have a feeling he will use Malcolm as a resource against HIVE.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Caitlyn Snow, since it seems she will take on her comic personna?
ReplyDeleteI could not take anything seriously in this season. Oliver's "death" was shocking but really stupid. Only roy's departure left me heartbroken. I really hated season 3- it was terrible
ReplyDeleteHe'll be pissed though if Ra's does't disband.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree
ReplyDeleteLol screentime doesnt equal an actual storyline. You can be on screen just nodding and standing there. Like Roy in S3.
ReplyDeleteThey have Almost already lost me as a Fan due to the entire season 3. It better increase in quality again
ReplyDeleteHmmm interesting. Give me a minute to think of a proper translation for it.
ReplyDeleteIs LoT even taking place in this time period? From the trailer it sounds like they'll be traveling to different time periods in the future.
ReplyDeleteSally is lost for us now that foundry is gone. RIP Sally the Salmon Ladder. *wails and screams in denial* Should we steal Ray Palmer's less hot Salmon Ladder?
ReplyDeleteI wish Roy was the floater but apparently Haynes might return to Teen Wolf.
ReplyDeleteWhy would Oliver think Malcolm would disband the LoA after becoming Ra's? Oliver just said stay away from him and his city didn't he?
ReplyDeleteWell he wont need while he shrunk himself and is presumed dead.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Malcolm revives Sara, she pops out of the pit all crazy and kills Malcolm, then Nyssa runs the league;) That or Nyssa joins Team Arrow. I loved Nyssa this season;)
ReplyDeleteThought that was part of the deal. Alright then. Well as long as Ra's al Ghul keeps being Ra's al Ghul.
ReplyDeleteYes. lets steal it. He has his super suit to play with now.
ReplyDeleteI have to see that scene again. But thats what I got from that scene.
ReplyDeleteLol. True;)
ReplyDeleteOliver finally has a not so sucky birthday after 8 years of hell. That make me happy.
ReplyDeleteYet that still doesn't change anything about the plots. You can argue the same thing with Diggle with that logic because he's in everyone episode and Team Arrow scene.
ReplyDeleteI don't think we will see much of Roy next season may be one or two episodes. He does not even have a costume now.
ReplyDeleteHey, don't forget about those awesome backflips Roy was constantly doing;)
ReplyDeleteLoT is taking place in this time line. But they will travel to the past and future every episode.
ReplyDeleteSomething Eobard does will be messing with poor Caitlin. Maybe another particle accelerator explosion as it was active last episode.
ReplyDeleteI dont get why people count those min and seconds because it actually doesnt mean anything story wise. And i think when your arc is connected to another person like Malcolm and Thea or Laurel and Ted, the issue is also the availability of the actors and some SL might fall through. Which was the case with the actor that played Ted. And Barrowman always has some side project, so Theas arc might have been delayed also.
ReplyDeletebut his city does not mean anything.....the rest of the world is still under threat by the league
ReplyDeleteSweet. So we can get a triple crossover episode;)
ReplyDeleteHe can always use the hockey mask Oliver used in 2.5 season comics.
ReplyDeleteLets agree to disagree. We will be just running around in circles :) That's why I said to Graydon to leave it. Lot of Felicity's screen time comes from her comm scenes and techno babble. Honeslty I think Felicity had the least storyline among the ladies compared to Thea and Laurel. Both had huge arcs. Felicity was a supporting character in Ray and Oliver's evolution to wait for it someone else, something else.
ReplyDeleteOh yes. I am eagerly waiting for it. I will burn CW head quarters (virtually of course I am not an arsonist promise) if they mess up the scheduling next season.
ReplyDeleteYeah what the hell happened to Ted? He got his ass kicked in that big street brawl and was never heard from again.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Marc Ted is in a hospital but not dead.
ReplyDeleteI found it very funny. A nod to SA's TMNT2 role. Cute. BTW what happened to Arrow 2.5 comics? Is it over already? I thought it was not concluded yet.
ReplyDeleteHe must be in a coma, cause he's been out of commission for awhile;)
ReplyDeleteNot sure lol.
ReplyDeleteOf course if Malcolm does something drastic Oliver will be there to stop him. But right now they are in a truce where Oliver gave him means to become Ra's and let him go with a warning never to cross paths with him. Of course it will come back and bite Oliver's ass royally.
ReplyDeleteAnd they can always bring him back in s4. Just hoping they are smarter this season and get actors that are actually available.
ReplyDeleteHe is keeping his identity secret and probably moved to London to be part of those Time Guardians. Also Thea was never Malcolm's daughter.
ReplyDeleteI know it is a wild guess with him being their child but he looks like a combination of those 2.
P.S. Spare me some chocolate. ;-)
I saw that comic preview and related to the other recent article indicating Jay Garrick will maybe stop by.
Honestly I don't want either of them appear cause Barry needs to step up just like Oliver did against Malcolm 2 years ago.
This season on top of some weird writing the show had the bad luck with casting. First Devon Aoki who was supposed to play Tatsu bailed saying scheduling conflict. SA even shot few scenes with her. Which made them change the flashbacks a bit in the beginning until Rila could take over as Tatsu. Then came the sad Ted Grant saga where the actor was already busy with another show and by the time he was free he became a regular in that show which made Arrow people to drop him. Ted could have been so much better. Even Barrowman could not be used effectively since he was busy with other projects in between.
ReplyDeleteI don't want him to come back if he is not going to devote time for Arrow.
ReplyDeleteThe closest thing I can think of atm is Waghd. It means, untrustworthy, dishonest, vile, villain. In short it means Malcolm Merlyn lol
ReplyDeletethey could always recast lol.
ReplyDeleteSo in Arrow terms it will be Al Wagh-hed.
ReplyDeleteThere a fewchapter it 19 out of 24
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't my favourite season and I know most of what happened was unbelievable and I knew it would get resolved at the end but seeing the characters I love suffer that much hurt me.
ReplyDeleteOh Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe Ted thing sucks, but I think Rila was fantastic as Tatsu.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both. Hearing Oliver say "I'm happy" as the season closed pretty much made up for what they put us through.
ReplyDeleteAl Wagh-Hed hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteOh Yeah. I would take Rila over Devon Aoki any day. I wish we will get more Tatsu next season. But Rila is working on a pilot don't know if it is picked up.
ReplyDeleteIt wasnt so far. I think SUicide Squad movie might be a bigger issue.
ReplyDeleteDamn it I forgot to make H in capital. Did you hear Ra's calling Oliver and Nyssa's son as Aybin Al Ghul instead of Bin Al Ghul? I laughed so much in that scene.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah forgot about that. I hate DC for putting chains on Arrow so much.
ReplyDeleteShe's also playing a Red Priestess on Game of Thrones, but I'm not sure how big the role is. Of course they're already done filming so that doesn't really matter. I was just pumped when I saw her;)
ReplyDeleteActually Aybin is correct. Ra's meant son of the demon, since Oliver was going to be his son-in-law. He didn't mean it as Al Sahim Bin Al Ghul.
ReplyDeleteI loved her so much in Wolverine. She was the saving grace of that movie. She was so under used on Arrow. But she got better treatment than Summer Glau.
ReplyDeleteI expect diggle getting revenge will be sad he going to personal kill darkh probably
ReplyDeleteI understood what he meant. But isn't bin the word for son and bint the word for daughter in arabic?
ReplyDeleteShe was by far the best part of Wolverine. And yeah, Summer Glau got way under used on Arrow.
ReplyDeleteIt will be heartbreaking. He will finally get closure and justice for Andy, but it won't bring Andy back. That's why I need him and Oliver to reconcile soon. He's going to need him.
ReplyDeleteYou know who could be a child prodigy? Supergirl could totally be Barry and Felicity's love child. LOL. She is Barry in Felicity's look.
ReplyDeleteMe sharing chocolate. As if that would ever happen.
Poor Barry. I think the Legends will appear and ask Barry to go back in time to correct the timeline that he changed or something like that. In the end it will be Barry who saves the day.
Bent means daughter that's true. Son is a little different. In general son means Eben but when used between names as in A son of B it would be A bin B.
ReplyDeleteThey wanted a character driven season, but then they also had too many heroes rising at once. I mean i get it. It was necessary so it wouldnt be all on Oliver anymore, but it was too quick.
ReplyDeleteAlso daughter means Ebna and bent, but bent is used when between two names.
ReplyDeleteHahahah Supergirl. Yeah right! But yes SG looks quite like Felicity, especially in that baby pink shirt she is ripping of her body in the promo.
ReplyDeleteLoL at the chocolate comment.
That would be acceptable with Barry coming out on top of thr story. I really can't wait for the finale.
I am so excited for Flash finale. With Arrow we knew Oliver would get a happy ending and we were 95% sure no one is going to die even Malcolm. But with Flash we have no idea how the finale will go or end. I wish it was a 2hr long finale.
ReplyDeleteOhhh I could see Flash get 24eps next year.
ReplyDeleteThe finale seems more than epic especially with Central City falling apart.
They are probably just fed up with The Flash getting all the positive attention whilst the majority of the Arrow fandom thought Arrow season 3 sucked. They are just copying The Flash to try to win back viewers. Stephen Amell must be really sick that everyone loves The Flash more.
ReplyDeleteAmen to that! I'm really hoping they keep Oliver in a happy place and with Felicity. He doesn't have to be miserable to become Green Arrow and it would only support their working relationship. I do think the team needs a little more testosterone next season since they now have too many women and with Ray gone they could do with a new addition.
ReplyDeleteOkay, enough with these Flash-Arrow comparisons. Sooner or later, people will start dissing a future season this newbie of a show the same way people are giving crap with this season of Arrow.
ReplyDeleteThe Flash, as good of a show it is at the moment, is just this outgoing season's "flavor of the month" along with Empire and HTGAWM.
Agreed, this season has been a big mess.
ReplyDeleteI don't care I like it anyway I just want Lauliver & Nolicity.
ReplyDeleteA huge mess.
ReplyDeleteThank God! It was damn time for Arrow to stop being Batman and start being Green Arrow.
ReplyDeleteHopefully now that Oliver is with Felicity, Sara is coming back, Digg has his family safe and Thea is Speedy... the character could be more emotionally healthy and happy.
This Season every damn character was crying and in a bad place. It draged too much...
You can have a dark storyline but with lighter characters on a personal level.
