ReplyDeleteI only recently finished season 1 and really loved it as it went on. 10 episodes is a nice number, I hope it's as good as season one. It's interesting that their describing Carter as "lighter" and "more humour" and "more warmth" to her, and then they describe the world as "dark. That'll be interesting to see.

I went into this show not expecting to ship anyone. Four episodes in I was shipping Angie and Peggy. I hate myself.

ReplyDeletePretty obvious given the 2 extra episodes of Agent Carter that it means the 2nd half of AoS will be pushed a week or two which indicates it will be tying heavy into Civil War and the fallout from it.

Yay, 10 episodes is the perfect amount for Peggy. Looking forward to seeing the next chapter of her life now that she has properly mourned Steve.

ReplyDeleteThe vast majority of these limited series will never reach traditional syndication. Doesnt matter if they have 10 episode seasons or 15 episode seasons (the Following). Revenge and OUAT have yet to be sold into syndication, and both shows have 88+ episodes.
ReplyDelete10 eps is cool, I don't mind it having short seasons. I'm so used to it with cable shows and increasingly networks are doing smaller seasons as well.

ReplyDelete10 episodes seems perfect for a bridge series. The extra two episodes gives the writers a chance to tell a bigger story than they might have been able to do with 8 episodes, while 13 episodes is too many since that means a longer break for AOS.

ReplyDeleteI don't think ABC/Marvel is concerned with getting the show into syndication. The series is only intended to serve as a bridge while AOS is in hiatus. Its also another form of corporate synergy which Disney is big on. And besides i am sure Netflix will purchase the streaming rights to it anyways

ReplyDeleteSame. I think the Agent Carter cast is tied with the SHIELD cast as my favorite ever. Hayley, Lyndsy, James, Dominic, and Enver are just the best.

ReplyDeleteAgent Carter S1: 8 episodes, 2 hour premiere, but still airing in 8 weeks cause it was preempted once.
Agent Carter S2: 10 episodes, probably without a 2 hour premiere cause Wicked City will air after it and it'll most likely have 10 eps too, so it'll air for 11 weeks (it will be preempted again); AoS would return on March 22 if this happens, and would end on May 31 with a 2 hour finale (or 1 hour if they air 11 and 11 instead of 10-12).
Isn't that's what Legends of Tomorrow is for?

ReplyDeleteWow, very surprised to see them receive an extra two episodes. I hope the writers take advantage of that, and pace the story a bit better. Although, this means an extra two weeks for the Agents of S.H.IE.L.D. hiatus...

ReplyDeleteThey could do it for legends with either the flash or Arrow. Id probably prefer TO be shortened down to 10-13 episodes with its plotting and pacing issues to make it work. But overall I like abc scheduling change over other networks, as it used to be sometimes every other week we would have a hiatus at times.
ReplyDeleteThe MCU seems to bring together people with great chemistry, like I love the Avengers cast together as well and GOTG. Just all of them. Its good to see a cast having fun.
ReplyDeleteIt can't be a lot more because it's being used as a bridge between the two halves of the AoS season. 10 is probably the maximum, considering last season was 8.
ReplyDeleteThis is perfect, a bit longer than Season 1 but still short and sweet, with no filler material and stuff being dragged out forever. AC is a show with a small, intimate focus - it doesn't need anywhere near 22 episodes a season.
ReplyDeleteNot really. AoS will have the exact same episode order than before. The two weeks which might be more between the mid-season finale and the second half of the season are two weeks less which will be between season three and four.

Poor Thompson. Everyone wants Angie, Jarvis and Sousa back, but nobody screams for him. (Nah, not really, I wouldn't mind seeing him again, but if I have to give up one of the main cast, he would be my pick).

I am very happy with this. Season 1 was a tad too short so 10 episodes will improve that while still keeping the focus of the show. So perfect really!

ReplyDeleteI'm so used to short seasons/series due to being in the UK, where most of the tv series' there are only 13 episodes, so it's a blessing when I watch US shows and they're 22-24 episodes long lmao. But I definitely agree, quality over quantity, and it seemed to work brilliantly for season one of AC.

ReplyDeleteYep S01 and their 8 eps were neat but we need more. I'm intrigued to see who from the S01 cast will return, the more the better and what stories they will tackle in S02.
