ABC Passes on 2 More Comedy Pilots, FOX Passes on The Perfect Stanleys
7 May 2015
Pilot ShowsPer Hollywood Reporter, ABC has passed on The King of 7B (starring Craig Ferguson) and Untitled Judah Miller pilot. Meanwhile, FOX has passed on The Perfect Stanleys.
The pool of comedies at ABC is really shrinking.
ReplyDeletei have to go soon, please give me some drama news, ABC
ReplyDeleteThe Muppets must be amazing.
ReplyDeleteEither that or they will pick Cheyv ://
ReplyDeleteGive us so drama passes now ABC so we have an idea of what's left.
ReplyDeleteBetter yet, do same freaking renewals lol.
ReplyDeleteNot surprising passes yet. Although I am surprised we're hearing so much more about what ABC has passed on and yet nothing on renewals/pickups. I usually remember something more leaking through by now.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking both of those. Plus Dr. Ken and maybe Martha Plimpton's Family of the Year. But that's it.... they don't really need much, honestly.
ReplyDeleteI'm overwhelmed with all the news.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for the dramas...
ReplyDeletePredicting 4 comedy pickups by ABC; The Muppets, Chevy, Dr. Ken, and maybe Family of the Year.
ReplyDeleteThe NBA comedy should be a sure thing.
ReplyDeleteNothing surprising with these passes.
ReplyDeleteABC still waiting on kingmakers announcement
ReplyDeletePlease tell us what pilots you are picking up instead of those which aren't, ABC! Preferably your dramas.
ReplyDeleteI would rather see Uncle Buck than Dr. Ken.
ReplyDeleteAnd NBA comedy is a sure thing.
fixed! :))
ReplyDeleteComedy pilots left at ABC Chevy (ugh), Dr. Ken, The 46 Percenters, The Muppets, The Real O'Neals and Golden State (NBA Comedy).
ReplyDeleteIt is possible that all of these get picked up. ABC ordered 6 comedies last season too, right?
It would be a total shocker if that is picked up.
ReplyDeleteHopeful for ORIGINAL SIN, THE CATCH, BOOM, and QUANTICO on the Drama side. Don't really care about anything else.
ReplyDeleteStill a few hours left for those.
ReplyDeleteUgh.
ReplyDeleteBut with the possibility of deleting the Friday com slots, I doubt they'll pick up 6.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Nerd Herd?
ReplyDeleteAll of us are waiting for the dramas lol.
ReplyDeleteAgreed
ReplyDeleteThis gives us a good idea of which they are picking up, they only have 6 comedies left (as I listed below) and all could be picked up.
ReplyDeleteWhich ones are multicamera?
ReplyDeletePlease pick up The Catch-Don't care about anything else.Maybe Boom?
ReplyDeleteI want Quantico to be picked up, but it's not likely.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they will delete the friday comedies
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Uncle uck?
ReplyDeleteThat is a lock.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they will be keeping that slot.
ReplyDeleteBut still, I also don't think they'll go back to Tuesday with 2 new comedies.
ReplyDeleteForgot to list it.
ReplyDeleteMajor URGH!
ReplyDeleteYes to Boom!
ReplyDeleteMe neither, I think they will keep the 4 hours they currently have.
ReplyDeleteand Original Sin.
ReplyDeleteWas passed on earlier.
ReplyDeleteDon't pass on Kingmakers ABC, don't make me hate you
ReplyDeleteConsidering ABC has 2 comedies this season in likely renewal and no likely cancellations of established comedies, they might decide to play it safer. I suppose it depends on whether they go all in on Tuesday comedies or not.
ReplyDeleteThe Muppets sounds like something that wouldn't be tied to a comedy block. But I guess I CAN see all 6 getting picked up. That said, I really hope they nix the Dan Savage comedy. Because Dan Savage. Yeesh. The others we can keep. XD
Dr. Ken and Uncle Buck I believe.
ReplyDeleteIt has no chance.
ReplyDeleteBoom sounds like so much fun. I'll continue to be the only one here hoping for Broad Squad lol
ReplyDeleteThat sounds pretty good. It will be picked up as well.
ReplyDeleteI have read on Twitter from someone who works for Vulture that ABC may order only 3 comedies.
ReplyDeleteIt has so little buzz, I think it is a long shot.
ReplyDeleteStart hating.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a lock.
ReplyDeleteTrue
ReplyDeleteYeah, they are likely ordering at least 4 of them.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I just care about their dramas.
I also saw that.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of these pilots.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Sin, Catch, and Boom appear locks.
ReplyDeleteHolding out little hope for The Adversaries... because Christine Lahti, and... legal soap!
Only 46 Percenters and Dr.Ken
ReplyDeleteAnd Uncle Buck. Which I think will be the one going to pair with LMS.
ReplyDeleteUncle Buck is single cam.
ReplyDeleteTonight has already had several shockers so far!
ReplyDeleteSo they might play it safe...
ReplyDeleteHave to say farewell to the many many picked up, renewed, cancelled and passed on posts as bed calls. But please ABC renew Agent Carter.
ReplyDeleteIt would be smartest to do such.
ReplyDeleteI'll probably start now
ReplyDeleteNot according to THR.
ReplyDeleteIs anybody here rooting for The Advocate? i feel like i am the only one
ReplyDeleteI know, I just see so much potential on it that it'd be a shame to pass on it :/
ReplyDeleteIt would be a shocker.
ReplyDeleteYes. Someone save Agent Carter!
ReplyDeleteQuantico!
ReplyDeleteSame with me with The Adversaries lol
ReplyDeleteI think they're probably just tired of this Revenge plotline.
ReplyDeleteI concur.
ReplyDeleteAgent Carter has to make it! Either on ABC or somewhere else, but it's just too good to be cancelled for good
ReplyDeleteWhere are you seeing it?
ReplyDeleteNever heard of them, but that's just cos I didn't follow any comedy pilots.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. With Crazy Ex Girlfriend and then Livifer
ReplyDeleteAre we sure about this? Different sites are conflicted. Deadline has it as a multi.
ReplyDeletesadly not happening.
ReplyDeleteThat and The Adversaries seem to be quite the underdogs. I would be shocked if either is picked up.
ReplyDeleteLucifer still hasn't picked up though.
ReplyDeleteBut this time they are making it an anthology series and it seems like a good fit for Secrets & Lies, so I don't know... I mean, I do know, it has little buzz, but I see points that can be made to pick it up
ReplyDeleteDeadline says it is multi cam and that 46 percenters is single cam.
ReplyDeleteWe know HAHA
ReplyDeleteHey ABC...can you announce when Miss Piggy will be gracing our TV's already XD
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDVV4pl6WNc
What about Quantico?
ReplyDeleteYES please!
ReplyDelete46 percenters is listed as single cam, was it reworked?
ReplyDeleteIt's happening.
ReplyDeleteT_T
ReplyDeleteSadly not going to happen.
ReplyDeleteAnthology series?Huh.I had no clue!
ReplyDeleteVery unlikely.
ReplyDeleteDo you know for sure if we will get them today?
ReplyDeleteYeah I know, I just want the formal announcement already. :)
ReplyDeleteRooting for the NBA comedy. Aside from that not much interest, though I'd be willing to give Dr. Ken a try
ReplyDeleteI'M DYING RIGHT HERE! ABC, WE NEED SOME RENEWALS/CANCELLATION NEWS NOW!
ReplyDeleteBut last year they didn't have a solid comedy block on Wednesday, a good performer on Tuesday and on Friday. This leaves them with just 2 spots and one is for the Muppets. I'm expecting 3 to 4 pick ups this year.
ReplyDeleteI know :(
ReplyDeleteOr at least some pickups! As of right now all I know is which projects ABC has dropped
ReplyDeleteI was thinking Friday for ABC, but sooner the better.
ReplyDeleteTHR must have mixed it up, then
ReplyDeleteI think The Muppets might replace Galavant midseason. Seems to me it could have self starting potential .
ReplyDeleteChev and Dr. Ken sound like Fall premieres. Maybe Uncle Buck too. I could see The Muppets being given a special scheduling for midseason ala Galavant. Maybe a Sunday night "family block" type thing? I can't see it fitting with any of the other comedies. Maybe put 46 percenters as midseason? Oh the possibilities.
ReplyDeleteNo idea which site is correct.
ReplyDeleteStill has a slim chance though LOL
ReplyDeleteNever say never; Marvel is behind the show, so I'm sure they can shop it around (most likely Netflix) if ABC doesn't renew
ReplyDeleteYou are such a tease!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think Muppets gets Galavant schedule.
ReplyDeleteBut please, no Dr Ken and, especially, no Chev lol. Those are the only two I wouldn't watch for sure. Dr. Ken I don't really care but Chev... URHG!
It sounds outlandish, but i could see The Muppets leading Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteYour right but I thought that it was dead because of basically no buzz but after that deadline article it looks like it has some life.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing as well.
ReplyDeleteI never understood why make Chevy Chase the main character on the show; it'll skew old as hell and I honestly don't see any reason to give such an arrogant (and all around jerk) actor a show to lead, especially since he can't be called "star power"
ReplyDeleteLike I said... URGH! I really can't stand the guy.
ReplyDeleteThe name "Chev & Bev" should have stayed.
ReplyDeleteThat'd be bold, I'll give them that. Not ready to predict that yet. The logical move seems to be The Middle anchoring Tuesdays, The Goldbergs anchoring Wednesdays. FOTB could go after one of them, a new family sitcom after another. Then they'd either put 2 new comedies on Tuesday from 9-10 or move Blackish and have it and MF anchor a new comedy.
ReplyDeleteAre there any multi-cams left to stick with LMS?
I am surprised The 46 Percenters and Irreversible are still alive. Those romantic comedies don't seem to fit with anything on ABC right now, why bother?
ReplyDeleteI think Family of the Year is multi cam.... Damn, because Delores & Jermaine would have fit perfectly on Friday nights.
ReplyDeleteUncle Buck and Dr. Ken. And I wouldn't exclude Chev being paired with it either despite being single cam.
ReplyDeleteThey shot a pilot for Irreversible ? Wasn't it developed last year ?
ReplyDeleteAccording to deadline, Family f the Year is single cam. I think it is the best bet for post MF that is left.
ReplyDeleteIt's not. Dr Ken and Uncle Buck are though.
ReplyDeleteI see....agreed. I don't want them to keep Black-ish at 9:30 but that appears the case.
ReplyDeleteI'm still living in the lies of Cristela having chances to get renewed...
ReplyDeleteAmong other things I hope ABC picks up "Of Kings and Prophets".
ReplyDelete( I want to see more of Maisie ( Rebekah Mikaelson 2.0 ) Richardson-Sellars as she is the female lead in this )
What are it's chances ?
Ah sorry, you are right, it was contingent on female lead and so didn't move forward. Even weirder to leave The 46 Percenters hanging then.
ReplyDeleteIrreversible still remains "contingent on female lead".... so have they even found a female lead?
ReplyDeleteIrreversible didn't get the cast contingency lifted, so didn't get shot.
ReplyDeleteWho said it on Twitter? Want to follow them for news.
ReplyDeleteI think it is on lock
ReplyDeleteEdited
ReplyDeletejust smash Dr.Ken and Chevys show together, retool it and have it as a Community spin-off
ReplyDeletehttps://twitter.com/Variety_Cynthia/status/594300339697876993
ReplyDeleteWhere did you read that it would be an anthology series??
ReplyDeleteI'd put Uncle there most likely. I forgot that Dr. Ken was multi. Hmmm, less convinced it'll land on the Fall. lol I see Chev on Tuesdays for some reason.
ReplyDeleteThey're just trying to capitalize on the sucess of Manhatten Love Story. It's obvious they should pick these up.
ReplyDeleteThe unfair nature of this world: AoS-renewed for sure. Forever-canned for sure
ReplyDeleteI was betting on that too.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to know bold, try The Muppets after Modern Family. They are both mockumentaries.
ReplyDeleteIt was a while back, I'm sure an article said so.
ReplyDeleteI'll look around to see if I can find it
It was never ordered to pilot since they never cast the female lead.
ReplyDelete137 comments in 22 minutes here!
ReplyDeleteWow never saw ABC passing on Yhe King of 7B
ReplyDeleteWhy is that unfair? AOS is more successful. And if you want to talk personal, AOS is one of my favorite shows.
ReplyDeleteLol Cristela's twitter page saying:
ReplyDelete@CristelaABC
The official Twitter for Cristela. Tuesdays at 8:30|7:30c on ABC!
I wish ! People didn't give it a chance because of its format.
ReplyDeleteYou never know.
ReplyDeleteGod no, enough with hurting AOS.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't The Muppets be able to self start though?
ReplyDeleteYay the real o'neals is still in play.
ReplyDeleteLol!
ReplyDeletelolwhat?
ReplyDeleteWhat does that mean?
ReplyDeleteSpeak for yourself.AoS is awesome sauce!
ReplyDeleteNothing HAHA
ReplyDeleteI'm super excited to see the schedules.
ReplyDeletePeople are quite desperate for ABC movement.
ReplyDeleteAOS has hurt itself pretty much. I think ABC might as well stick it at 10 on Tuesdays since the show is incapable of anchoring the night. Might as well stick it there. At least it'd draw a younger audience. ABC should go all in for a second comedy block now that they have a window to do it.
ReplyDeleteStill a few days for that. We should be getting NBC's on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteIt means the people who promoted Cristela on twitter have obviously failed to even write the proper date it's on...
ReplyDeleteThat is true.Who thought CW would pass on CDS and pick up CEG?!?
ReplyDeleteNo one saw that coming.
ReplyDeleteNo, I disagree 100%. ABC needs to focus on dramas, since they don't have that many successful young dramas, as opposed to comedies. It would be a mistake to cut down an hour of drama which they need for that, especially since they are already taking up two drama hours with stuff that is just there for syndication (Nashville and Castle).
ReplyDeleteYep. Nobody even the FOX pilot mentioned in this post, lol
ReplyDeleteyes I am for sure! Most of my shows are ABC so want to know now!!! lol
ReplyDeleteI sure am,i need to sleep. How are you doing this to me ABC?
ReplyDeleteI had not even heard of that FOX pilot. It seems pretty clear to me which are the 3 comedy pilots FOX will pick since every site is consensual on those, so the rest seems cannon fodder.
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree!
ReplyDeleteHowever, Cristela is still retweeting the #RenewCristela posts, so she either has no idea about it's fate yet (though I guess even she thinks it's going to get cancelled...), or she's just retweeting it to make people happy.
ReplyDeleteAGREED! I would love that. And it would do so well.
ReplyDeleteThat was crazy, I haven't recovered yet.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lock for a limited 15-episode run....same with THE CATCH and ORIGINAL SIN.
ReplyDeleteAnd we thought CW would be predictable after that mass renewal in Jan.
ReplyDeleteNEVER!
Nerd Herd aka Brainy Bunch was passed on a few hours ago. http://www.spoilertv.com/2015/05/tales-from-darkside-and-family-fortune.html
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I get so excited for this stuff, but I do. I barely even watch much TV, Getting down to the wire!
ReplyDeleteAhah the cw is crazy. But they are done now.
ReplyDeleteBring Kingmakers and the Shonda show to me! c'mon!
ReplyDeleteI am watching Young and Hungry right now and one of lead cheerleaders from Cheerleader Death Squad is guest starring ... WTH? Even they are trying to remind me of CDS not being picked
ReplyDeletehttp://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/tv-pilots-2015-complete-guide-764707
ReplyDeleteThe change of names for all the pilots is very hard to keep track off! lol
ReplyDeleteEither way,it means she is completely Clueless/Delusional.
ReplyDeleteGood
ReplyDeleteAgreed. ABC has been doing that the most.
ReplyDelete1st one is not happening.Shonda is coming to you, don't worry.
ReplyDeleteThank you babar.
ReplyDeleteCristela Alonzo confirmed to me that it is a typo and not renewed.
ReplyDeleteThey came first again,i love that network!!
ReplyDeleteShe has retweet a post where a fan asked her if she'd be up for Netflix airing it...
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody remember how many drama pilots did ABC have last year and how many made it to series?
ReplyDeleteWhat does 'on lock' mean ?
ReplyDeleteI am anxiously waiting!
ReplyDeleteahahha the daughter of that woman or that woman?
ReplyDelete100% confirmed unofficially.
ReplyDeleteNashville is just there for syndication. I think Castle has earned it's continued presence on the network regardless. It's numbers aren't much below many top ABC dramas anyway.
ReplyDeleteI don't really think ABC needs to focus on dramas THAT much. Family comedies have been working for them. I think they should capitalize on that. I also think this drama crop is really weak. Nothing really screams standout and many sound like shows that ABC cancelled a few seasons ago. Besides, "cutting an hour of drama" might help them better focus on promoting the dramas they do premiere. ABC only premiered 2 fall dramas last year if I remember correctly, one of which was a pretty big hit. They can still do that this year with a comedy expansion if they delay Secrets and Lies until midseason. (Which would be smart given it's not capable of carrying a 22 episode season.) They can even just cut the Friday comedy block and still keep the same number of dramas, but I think that might be next year's move once LMS retires.
ROFL!
ReplyDeletedaughter obviously :D
ReplyDeleteYes, very competent.
ReplyDeleteAgain: someone save Agent Carter!
ReplyDeleteWhy would we LOL?
ReplyDeleteI predict that from the remaining comedy pilots, The 46 Percenters won't be picked up. Seems kinda the odd man out among all other ABC pilots, just like The King of 7B.
ReplyDelete
