The Opening scene. Tom tells Liz the truth and the final moments and Tom ask Liz for the passport and Red shows up
ReplyDeleteLiz being the strong woman we know she is and not accepting Tom back into her life. However genuine his feelings were for her, he still spied on and lied to her for years. Love doesn't erase that kind of betrayal.
ReplyDeletethe part where Aram is talking about his friend in forensics
ReplyDeleteLiz coming back for Red when he gets shot and Dembe grabbing her hand to put pressure on the wound.
ReplyDeleteSame for me!
ReplyDeleteSo many good scenes this week, but for me it was the shocker ending.
ReplyDeleteThe last minutes: Lizzie and Red's confrontation and Red getting shot :(
ReplyDeleteRed threatening Jasper may be my favorite.... or the ending.
ReplyDeleteThere were a lot of good scenes this week, but not any simply awesome scenes that stand out head and shoulders above the rest to me.
She won't take him back, but them working together might have been a glimpse into the future. Now that Red is out of commission, i do hope that Liz works with Dembe to go all V for Vendetta on the alliance, but Tom might be lurking around somewhere.
ReplyDeleteYeah me too - No matter how many times or how petulant Lizzie can come across - she cares to a fault - about Tom & about Red. She does not want either one of them to die...but especially not Red. I figure that he will get a chance to explain in a future episode just like he did with Sam. She will forgive him and they will move on. As usual.

ReplyDeleteMr. Kaplan unexpectedly showing up to offer this week's Blacklister a job. Lizzie telling Tom goodbye and meaning it.
ReplyDeleteyou HONESTLY think that? because after she said "Goodbye" to Tom i was questioning if the relationship is over
ReplyDeleteshe BETTER mean it
ReplyDeleteI think the writers put so much effort into it to have Tom stick around, that this is not the last time we saw him. But I honestly hope that Liz is not considering a relationship with him anymore.
ReplyDeleteIn a previous episode Dembe told Red that he has to come clean about Tom to Liz, and he did not and now it is biting him. Red should have known that Tom spilled the beans the moment he had the chance to get some profit out of it. I still don't know what the writers want to get out of Tom in the future, I thought his story was told. The fact that Tom is not dead yet means, he is going to stick around much longer. Liz ''good bye'' doesn't really mean will have seen the last of him. I just hope Liz does not take him back.
ReplyDeleteI can honestly tell you that Tom will infect be back in 2x19 already. On the road to redemption. No amount of 'love' could undone the past, but apparently TPTB seem to care more about keeping Tom than the evolution of Lizzie.
ReplyDeleteMegan Boone isn't - But the Jo(h)n's are considering it because of the lack of romantic tension on the show. I wish they brought a new character in to mix it up - or show that Liz can do it on her own.
ReplyDeleteExcellant Point.
ReplyDeleteIn the expected Red form he saw right through the BS from Jasper and the director. Love a character that doesn't miss a beat!
ReplyDeleteI thought the Rubicon was the best line bu t that is because it sheds such shade on every matter.
ReplyDeleteLet me elaborate. The Rubicon is the line agreed to avoid people from bringing troops to the senate. It is no longer clear just where it was but it's crossing signals the beginning of the end of the Roman Empire. most people remember Julius Caesar was killed for crossing the Rubicon and having himself declared Emperor for life, but few remember Augustus was named the successor and the significance of him taking over, namely he is the person responsible for Jesus coming to Bethlehem. In the chain of dominoes this moment leads to that moment which leads to other moments which lead to Christianity eventually supplanting the other empire and ruling Rome for many years to come. It is a strange way to look at it but but if not for the Rubicon, Romans might still be a polytheist country.
So what does this have to do with the Blacklist, perhaps nothing but as I see this as a you game of checkers with everyone hoping to be a king, perhaps it could foreshadow where this show will lead. Here is what you know once upon a time there was a group of 6 Russian secrets dealers who the FBI were interested in 4 men and 2 women. Let's assume they are more than just dirty bombs to be destroyed but that these people actually existed and found their ways into several pies. Let us also assume that the FBI found its way to make reports on this group and on other groups this group kept tabs on. The Feds created a file to protect the government from a group heavily involved in the US to protect itself from ultimately being taken over as it seem it has been, meaning someone disappeared that file. If we assume the 6 took it then we can further assume the Government went after it and most likely tried to eliminate its members and in Machiavellian style their families as well.
One thing seems clear Red and Lizzie were there for the reprisal and Red did all he could to conceal this fact. He did well for 25 years until it became clear that someone was making a move on him and his people. As is strategic Red pulls his friend and enemies close and surfaces to bring Lizzie back home to Maryland from New York. It is clear that Sam took care of Liz for a long time but she decided to go into law enforcement and that means she will have routine background checks. It looks like he tried sending Tom to watch Lizzie but that went wrong when look after turned into marry. It is not certain what Tom's background is but it could be he is connected to the Courier as they share the same last name. It is also possible Ray caused his parents to die. It does seem odd Tom's obsession with getting Lizzie out of the picture, pregnant and on some secluded island but that is his assignment to love Lizzie. Pretty sure his assignment was not to kill Jolene, and that may cost him some day, as not everyone turns out okay growing up. There seems to be a plan B in Lizzie's life , Ressler, who grows closer to her each week. Not sure if he knows Red has steered the two together but he has. Ressler is Lizzie's champion, her body guard and her confident.
The question is who is out to get Red and expose the Fulcrum. Currently it looks to be the Director that but does make sense especially sense none of the the current trio of leaders of the other group where there season one. It is almost like Red is dealing with a new group entirely. Hobbs, the Director, et al are all new to last season. I don't see them being anything more than round two in the people who could be sent by Red's actual opponent, though they will have to be dealt with. This may make Connelly the next person to go for it all, again not seeing that as the finish line as he would not have the stroke to pull off the ploys Red is facing. For that we need a crook.
