But, I'd love to see a revamp of American Gothic. If we are talking about picking up where they left off, then... Wonderfalls. They made a nice little miniseries feeling out of it and they could do that with a second season. And of course Carnivale... There are no words for that one. It's just something that would happen in a fair world.
I would leave Buffy and Angel well alone really, and Firefly as well (though there are more stories to tell I want Joss Whedon to focus on something new).
So I would pick Deadwood from the list because we never did get the wrap up TV movie promised and now Olyphant has finished with Justified he would be available.
And I would add Pushing Daisies because they have been trying to do a comic/musical/movie follow-up for years and it has never happened.
If it had happened earlier I'd have been overjoyed to see Angel continue but at this point it would be so vastly different than what it would have been that I don't think I'd be happy with it. It wasn't a terrible finale at all IMO.
Buffy continuation story about other Slayers, after Buffy and the others died and a fight enrolled between the Slayers potentials and others to who will run the council. The Secret Circle Reboot.
I WANT TOO SEE WISTERIA LANE AGAIN. With new neighbors and perhaps some old ones. I'm dying to know what was in Jennifer's box. They would need to recast the actress though.
This is from a preference standpoint and not a ratings one.
I would want: Happy Endings (c'mon already Sony, everyone wants this to happen!), Enlisted, Revolution, The Tomorrow People, V, Flashforward, The Secret Circle, Suburgatory, Almost Human and Terra Nova.
Apparently because Joss asked them to renew it early so the person running wb said fine I'm cancelling you. In a way it was a big fu to people behind the show and the fans.
"The only reason that Angel didn't come back…it's a very simple thing. Because our ratings were up, because of our critical attention, Joss specifically asked Jordan Levin, who was the head of The WB at the time, to give us an early pick-up because every year they [would] wait so long to give Angel a pick-up [and] a lot of us [would] turn down jobs hoping that Angel will continue - he didn't want that to happen. So, he was feeling very confidant and he just asked Jordan, "Like, make your decision now whether you're going to pick us up or not," and Jordan, sort of with his hands tied, with his back up against the wall, called hims the next day and said, ‘Okay, we're canceling you.’ Jordan's no longer there and The WB has since recognized…I believe Garth Ancier at The WB said that it was a big mistake to cancel Angel. There was a power play that happened that just didn't fall out the way they wanted it to. We wanted to get an early pick-up, we didn't. In fact we forced them to make a decision, and with his hand forced he made the decision to cancel us.
I think, in retrospect, with their developments not doing very well - they were trying to develop other genre shows, like Dark Shadows with John Wells and Lost in Space with John Woo - they would have loved to haveAngel on for another year. It was just an unfortunate thing that they made the decision so soon. I guarantee that, if we waited as we normally did, by the time May had come around they would have picked up Angel. I can guarantee that."
FlashForward, The Event, The Tomorrow People, Terra Nova, Enilsted, Trophy Wife, etc I think a remake of Lost in the Mid-2020's would be good, with more answers.
Wonder Years would be something that would work combining past success and people warming up to hearing it on The Goldbergs (Growing Up Fisher also had it).
It would need to be a sequel being a family sitcom and all.
Buffy/Angel Firefly Veronica Mars on the list Other : Charmed but focus on their kids but bring on the sisters from time to time No Ordinary Family still piss this got cancel it was good and the ending when government came to ask for their help this could be great comeback since we got all these superheros shows One Tree Hill I just love this show it had great nine seasons Secret Circle and Witches of Eastwick because we need more witches shows
Obviously, Firefly (FOX mistreated this show, how rude!) and Happy Endings!
Adam Pally left TMP, Daman Wayans Jr. left New Girl, Eliza Coupe's underrated show, Benched got cancelled, Marry Me (Casey Wilson), One Big Happy (Elisha Cuthbert) and Weird Loners (Zachary Knighton) are certain to be cancelled. Based on EW's article and David Caspe from last week, the creator and the cast had hoped to do a few more episodes someday.
I would revive Chuck, cause it was one of the best shows ever. Revive it at least long enough for Sarah to remember Chuck, because I can't believe the show ended that way... I would also revive Complete Savages, Enlisted, Selfie , Shit my dad says and Surviving Jack, because those were great shows that didn't get to live very long.
I'm not normally a fan of remakes/revivals but I got excited for the X-Files mini series. Without David Lynch, I'm real iffy on Twin Peaks. I can see how a new The Wonder Years would look, with adults today remembering growing up in the late 80's and 90's. That would be nostalgic.
-I would really love the Deadwood movie. Justified is ending, there's half the cast right there. -More than anything, I need another show like Spartacus. I miss Spartacus. I like GoT and Vikings but not nearly as much as I loved Spartacus.
Actually I would probably vote none, because I hate to see a good show ruined by a terrible reboot. IMO reboots only work if they are either a next gen thing (like Star Trek did) or a so different it doesn't resemble the original (like Battlestar Gallactica did). I would like to see some of the above get proper closure. In the Heat of the Night might work on cable if it's willing to seriously take on all the race issues of today that are making headlines, but I can't see broadcast networks doing that. I would like to see Gunsmoke revived and given the Deadwood treatment that is, having the show look like the real west instead of the bland sentimental version the series became. The other show I would like to see brought back and given a serious treatment is Lost in Space, but I don't see that happening as the original was laughable and the movie horrible.
Yeah as long as a series gets a proper ending then I don't see the need for a revival of it. There are plenty of other shows which got cut short without an notice and with cliffhangers .
Other: Jake 2.0, Kyle XY, Stargate Universe, Intelligence, Chuck, Eureka, Warehouse 13, Las Vegas, John Doe, Bar Karma, The Finder, The Pretender, New Amsterdam, Human Target, The Glades, Valentine, King and Maxwell, Almost Human, The Tomorrow People.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
ER

ReplyDeleteThis is from a preference standpoint and not a ratings one.
ReplyDeleteI would want: Happy Endings (c'mon already Sony, everyone wants this to happen!), Enlisted, Revolution, The Tomorrow People, V, Flashforward, The Secret Circle, Suburgatory, Almost Human and Terra Nova.
Yes! Enough already, Sony has to make it happen!
ReplyDeleteCharmed IMO had really nice finale, don't see room for the cont beside new cast or their children taking over.
ReplyDeleteApparently because Joss asked them to renew it early so the person running wb said fine I'm cancelling you. In a way it was a big fu to people behind the show and the fans.

Such a shame, it was a really good show, watching 5th season made me(almost) forget 4th season and then show ends like that.
ReplyDeleteFlashForward, The Event, The Tomorrow People, Terra Nova, Enilsted, Trophy Wife, etc
ReplyDeleteI think a remake of Lost in the Mid-2020's would be good, with more answers.
Buffy/Angel!
ReplyDeleteI hate when they have show's series finales end on a cliffhanger with no closure.
Wonder Years would be something that would work combining past success and people warming up to hearing it on The Goldbergs (Growing Up Fisher also had it).
ReplyDeleteIt would need to be a sequel being a family sitcom and all.
FlashForward & Terra Nova
ReplyDeleteTROPHY WIFE!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how does a show with such a high-profile cast not get promoted? Show was the next Modern Family—just sweeter and funnier.
Kindred The Embraced

Legend of the Seeker.
ReplyDeletePrison Break
ReplyDeleteNothing for me (especially Buffy, Angel or Firefly).
ReplyDeleteThe show must go on without too many revivals.
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. They teased us with an incredible finale and then cancelled the series.
ReplyDeletealso My Name Is Earl.. I don't if I'd want a reboot... but they really left it hanging awfully bad... and could have given it a proper ending
ReplyDeleteKindred the Embraced... and Blood Ties are number ones at the top of the list...

ReplyDeleteNone. For me it does not make any sense, just money.
ReplyDeleteLie to Me. Please, would be amazing if Lie to me would be back
ReplyDeleteMEDIUM :)
ReplyDeleteI'm actually kind of shocked no one ever talks about Fantasy Island. The type of show it was, it would totally hold up.
ReplyDeleteFirefly!!! It didn't even get to finish out it's first season.
ReplyDeleteVeroninca Mars has kinda been remade already. iZombie is VM with a Zombie.
to YOU. I think it's one of the worst series finales up with true blood.
ReplyDeleteWe don't know how the last battle went! So yeah no we needed more.
ReplyDeleteThe Pretender!!!! This needs to happen
ReplyDeleteMaybe do a real time version of Wyatt and Chris growing up.
ReplyDeleteI'd be all over Freaks and Geeks, but only if they got that incredible cast to come back!!
ReplyDeleteOther - Legend of the Seeker. I'll never forgive ABC for axing it at only 2 seasons.
ReplyDeleteIt had such potential! It's been years and I still can't let it go.
ReplyDeleteAngel. We needed another season.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see another Star Trek series.
Stargate Atlantis. I loved that show.
Battlestar Galactica.
