I actually voted for Firefly, even if I have never have seen it (due to beeing on of the reasons why Dark Angel was cancelled). But the show is sarting to move onto my to do list and it has a very dedicated fan base. Also voted for The Last Resort, I liked the setting..... only other shows I saw from this list Kings and TerraNova....
The Secret Circle. I loved it so much and I'm still angry it got cancelled. Damn, it could be in its 4th seasonn now. I also miss Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, but it was great as a short series. I just hope it's ending won't be completely ruined by OUaT (*cough* Will Scarlett)
From this list: Firefly, Last Resort, Terra Nova, Threat Matrix, and Vegas. Off this list: Crimson Field (BBC drama about WWI nurses and doctors), Moonlight (blast that writers' strike!!) , Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (solid companion to the parent show) , and Reckless (perfect summer guilty pleasure series).
Out of this list I voted for The Nine Lives of Chloe King, I really thought that show had potential (plust that cliffhanger) but also The Secret Circle. I'll be forever bitter about that one
On this list, Firefly and Flash Forward. I really liked Caprica, but it needed more time to develop into something great. What we got, just didn't get there.
There are several other shows that deserved to be on this list as well, especially The Secret Circle, Bunheads, and The Tomorrow People.
Terranova had the potential to be great, but it focused on becoming a family drama. I want more dinosaurs/politics/survival and NOT the father singing spider songs to his daughter. Seriously that was the moment I stopped watching the show.
A lot of these I haven't seen. Firefly would be the top of the list.
I also voted for Terra Nova because I did enjoy that show and wished it had continued. I also voted for Caprica, it was not as good as BSG but I liked it well enough.
I would have voted for Almost Human had it been included in the poll, because I really wish they had given it another season.
SpoilerTV only allowed a limited number of options. Please se http://goo.gl/forms/AQpJUVMRnH for the complete original poll. Took a lot of work, but I collected most of the US TV series that had one season in the last 15 years
Easy. The one with Gorram Reavers. Where Dinosaurs betray each other. Where the Browncoats fought heroically at the Battle of Serenity Valley. Where there's the Hero of Canton, a man they called Jayne. Where Shiny means cool. The best and only space western I've ever seen: Firefly.
There was a Dark Angel marathon on a couple of months ago and I rewatched them all. Jensen Ackles & Michael Weatherly looked so young and Jessica Alba was a baby. Wish it had at least gotten a second season.
I voted for "Drive" and "Firefly". Also, I dunno if "best" is the right word, but I was bummed that "Ringer" didn't get a second season. Its ending - with good twin Bridget finding out that evil twin Siobhan was alive - hinted at super soapy shenanigans ahead.
Wonderfalls, Drive, and The River from this poll. (I forgot until just now I freakin GREAT Drive was.) I'd also like to nominate The Secret Circle. Still sad about that.
I voted none of the above, because I never watched those shows. Here are the shows that I was sad to see go after/during only first season:
Get Real (1999, FOX)
Mr. Sunshine ABC, 2011)
Stark Raving Mad (1999, NBC)
Thieves (2001)
(and the ones I never got the chance to see before they ended, but others say were good. FireFly, Go on, My So-called Life, Studio 60, Terriers, The Crazy Ones)
And there is a long list of shows that I liked, but were cancelled after/during season 2. (examples: Alphas, Dark Angel, DTtB in Apartment 23)
From the list: - FIREFLY!!! (first, foremost and forever!!!!) - Studio 60 (started weird but foudn it's footing as the season played along. Also Matthew was killing it on that show!) - Jake 2.0 (it'was cute...) - No Ordinary Family (I liked where it was going by the end of the season)
Not on the list: - New Amsterdam (still bitter about that one... such potential... and, don't get me wrong, I like Forever, but it's not nearly as good as this was) - Ringer (it started picking up it's pace midway through. And the unresolved stories from S1 seemed like they could have carried over to an interesting S2) - Moonlight (I was so hoping it was gonna get picked up by The CW and get paired up with SPN way back then...)
I was going to say, "Where is Pushing Daisies?" but I looked on IMDB, and I guess it had two tiny seasons (late season replacement with 9 episodes and then another 13 in the fall). Great show that got ruined by the writers' strike.
Yeah I took a look too. And there wasn't a giant hiatus. So I'm not sure why I convinced myself they had two season. Need to check for a DVD. I'd like to own that one.
I'd love to see this poll done by network. The CW one would be insane, especially if people were only allowed to pick one show. I imagine FOX would be interesting too.
From the list, only Common Law. From "outside" of the list, Complete Savages, Trophy Wife, Enlisted, Surviving Jack, Selfie, Better With You, Shit my Dad Says, Guys with Kids, I was going to say Good Morning Miami, but it had a (horrible) second season. That's what comes to mind at the moment. (BTW, loved this poll. Great to reminisce :)
Dark Angel was cancelled after S2 because for one they needed the time slot for a Joss Whedon show - Firefly. At least that was the strongest rumor back then. It even reached me when I did not surf the net. In the end it was the too high budget why it was cancelled. So I never really warmed up to Firefly although enjoyed Serenity. Seeing the fans dedication over the years is making me reconsider. BTW there were to official books after DA was cancelled, which finished the storyline.
Besides the poll I submitted here, I also have a big poll with best show on every network (current running shows only). Only one option selectable like you say: http://goo.gl/forms/4F4LFjl4sE Too bad the polls that I can submit here can only have 30 options..
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I liked many shows from the list, but eventually voted for Firefly, Terra Nova and Last Resort
ReplyDeleteThis list is sorely missing Almost Human & The Tomorrow People.
ReplyDeleteFirefly, Flashforward and Studio 60 for me... Also it would be cool to see another season of Go On, even if the show ended well.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human, Intelligence, The Tomorrow People, Twisted, The Secret Circle
ReplyDeleteI actually voted for Firefly, even if I have never have seen it (due to beeing on of the reasons why Dark Angel was cancelled). But the show is sarting to move onto my to do list and it has a very dedicated fan base. Also voted for The Last Resort, I liked the setting..... only other shows I saw from this list Kings and TerraNova....

ReplyDeleteMoonlight, Secret Circle, Ravenswood, The Event

ReplyDeleteThe Secret Circle. I loved it so much and I'm still angry it got cancelled. Damn, it could be in its 4th seasonn now.
ReplyDeleteI also miss Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, but it was great as a short series. I just hope it's ending won't be completely ruined by OUaT (*cough* Will Scarlett)
It was the best :(
ReplyDeleteEasy. Rubicon.
ReplyDeleteCaprica, Ringer and Dollhouse(2 seasons, but still regretably short).
ReplyDeleteIndeed it was.
ReplyDeleteFirefly is in a class of it's own. I also thought Enlisted really needed a second season.
ReplyDeleteLast Resorts (I loved that show) and Terra Nova too :)
ReplyDeleteI also thought Once Upon a Time in Wonderland was great too.
Good to see another Rubicon fan here :)
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean about Firefly being the reason Dark Angel was cancelled? Max and Alec were supposed to be together
ReplyDeletewhoa i haven't heard of that show in so long LOL
ReplyDeleteThe Tomorrow People *grumbles angrily at CW*
ReplyDeleteMoonlight- CBS! Still ticks me off!
ReplyDeleteAwake!
ReplyDeleteCOME ON you left out Almost Human.
ReplyDeleteFirefly No Ordinary Family others Secret Circle Tomorrow People
ReplyDeleteFirefly.I miss TTP too.
ReplyDeleteOther: Trophy Wife
ReplyDeleteFrom this list: Firefly, Last Resort, Terra Nova, Threat Matrix, and Vegas.
ReplyDeleteOff this list: Crimson Field (BBC drama about WWI nurses and doctors), Moonlight (blast that writers' strike!!) , Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (solid companion to the parent show) , and Reckless (perfect summer guilty pleasure series).
Harper's Island.
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to see where Last Resort could have gone..
ReplyDeleteFirefly
Other- Awake!
From the list: FlashForward (still so bitter about that one) and No Ordinary Family.
ReplyDeleteOrhers: TTP, The Secret Circle and Star Crossed.
The Tomorrow People and Missing. Crisis was good as well. Last Resort, Firefly, Terra Nova and Gang Related are all on my watchlist.
ReplyDeleteThe Secret Circle, and Ravenswood.
ReplyDeleteLast Resort, Firefly and especially the River were great shows with a lot of potential.
ReplyDeleteRavenswood
ReplyDeleteTerra Nova, The Event, FlahsForward, Trophy Wife, Enlisted, etc...
ReplyDeleteWonderfalls! The first dvd boxset I ever purchased. I needed to watch all 13 episodes.
ReplyDeleteI voted for No ordinary family.
ReplyDeleteBut The Secret circle and Star crossed were awesome.
Park Avenue 666 was intense as well.
I miss The Secret Circle, Twisted and The Tomorrow People on this list i would have voted for them and nine lives of Chloe King
ReplyDeleteActually it was 666 Park Avenue
ReplyDeleteI hope that they were going to be together, there was something special between them and i would have loved to see more of it.
ReplyDeleteyeah especially when Alec was arrested for Ben's killings and they talked
ReplyDeleteFirefly and Studio 60.
ReplyDeletecreepy and horrifying miniseries but really cool
ReplyDeleteI loved a lot of these shows and it's disappointing just how many had great potential that the networks failed to see.
ReplyDeleteOne that I would have included was ABC's Eastwick. Absolutely loved it and I still miss it so much!
ReplyDeleteMoonlight and Tru Calling (Well Tru Calling had two season, but only 6 episodes, anyways was too short)
ReplyDeleteRinger. Ringer should have gotten another season. I voted for Caprica and John Doe, too.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Ringer and The Secret Circle on the list ?
ReplyDeleteIt truly is.
ReplyDeleteId say The secret circle and The tomorrow people are the shows that come to my mind but Im sure I have more.
ReplyDeleteWhen you said it could be on its fourth season it made me feel old lol, time does indeed fly.
ReplyDeleteThe Nine Lives of Chloe King...Loved the script but still hoping that one day the movie could still be made or another network will pick up show...
ReplyDeleteOut of this list I voted for The Nine Lives of Chloe King, I really thought that show had potential (plust that cliffhanger) but also The Secret Circle. I'll be forever bitter about that one
ReplyDeleteFirefly, Rubicon, Almost Human, The Tomorrow People & if it is not renewed, Stalker. I will never forgive Fox for what they did to Firefly. :(
ReplyDelete100% agree!
ReplyDeleteOn this list, Firefly and Flash Forward. I really liked Caprica, but it needed more time to develop into something great. What we got, just didn't get there.
ReplyDeleteThere are several other shows that deserved to be on this list as well, especially The Secret Circle, Bunheads, and The Tomorrow People.
firefly of course, but moonlight tho ...
ReplyDeleteTerranova had the potential to be great, but it focused on becoming a family drama. I want more dinosaurs/politics/survival and NOT the father singing spider songs to his daughter. Seriously that was the moment I stopped watching the show.
ReplyDeleteFirefly, Wonderfalls and I'd like to add The Inside (the Criminal Minds before Criminal Minds).
ReplyDeleteThe Tomorrow People.
ReplyDeleteRinger!
ReplyDeleteAlcatraz, Moonlight, Freaks and Geeks, Almost Human
ReplyDeleteMotherbleeping Firefly of course!!!
ReplyDeleteMy so called life!!
ReplyDeleteA lot of these I haven't seen. Firefly would be the top of the list.
ReplyDeleteI also voted for Terra Nova because I did enjoy that show and wished it had continued. I also voted for Caprica, it was not as good as BSG but I liked it well enough.
I would have voted for Almost Human had it been included in the poll, because I really wish they had given it another season.
Indeed, but I had a limited number of options in UserSubmittedPolls. See my other comment for the complete poll in Google Forms
ReplyDeleteJohn Doe, Jake 2.0!
ReplyDeleteSpoilerTV only allowed a limited number of options. Please se http://goo.gl/forms/AQpJUVMRnH for the complete original poll. Took a lot of work, but I collected most of the US TV series that had one season in the last 15 years
ReplyDeleteThe best isn't an option. Freaks and Geeks!
ReplyDeleteI thought Jake 2.0 ran for two seasons. It's definitely on my list.
ReplyDeleteIn order: Firefly, The River, Jake 2.0, No Ordinary Family, John Doe ----- Drive
ReplyDeleteOnce Upon a Time in Wonderland, Almost Human and 666 Park Avenue. Loved those shows.
ReplyDeleteOh! I would have voted for Ringer. That show was just finding it's way when it got canceled. I was very disappointed.
ReplyDelete1 season of 16 eps acc to TVrage
ReplyDeleteIndeed, I looked only at all TV shows made after 2000 (easier to gather all), sorry.
ReplyDeleteloved that!
ReplyDeleteI'll submit a poll for 2 season shows. I have the data collected from the original poll.
ReplyDeleteFlash Forward. No ordinary Family and The Secret CIircle!
ReplyDeleteWhat about Profit (FOX, 1996) ?
ReplyDeleteI loved Bunheads and Twisted.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human, Bunheads, The Defenders, Intelligence and Twisted
ReplyDeleteStar-Crossed and The River
ReplyDeleteAwake?
ReplyDeleteFirefly and Terra Nova.
ReplyDeleteIt's also missing The Secret Circle and Bunheads
had only 30 to keep. you can vote all in the full poll http://goo.gl/forms/AQpJUVMRnH
ReplyDeleteObviously Firefly and of course, Enlisted and Trophy Wife!
ReplyDeleteRooooooooooooooooooooobicon. Absolulely. Truxton Spangler taken down in his prime by the Cancellation Nazis was a grave injustice to TV viewers.
ReplyDeleteThis got me thinking about obscure shows from long ago that I wished had lasted longer. Goes anyone remember Profit or American Gothic?
ReplyDeleteI really loved Studio 60. It was so well made. Just didn't stand a chance. I blame Fox for Firefly's failure.
ReplyDeleteThere was a Dark Angel marathon on a couple of months ago and I rewatched them all. Jensen Ackles & Michael Weatherly looked so young and Jessica Alba was a baby. Wish it had at least gotten a second season.
ReplyDeleteFirefly, Almost Human, and one that's not there - Jericho.
ReplyDeletePrivileged! It was canceled almost six years ago and I'm still not over it
ReplyDeleteI voted for "Drive" and "Firefly".
ReplyDeleteAlso, I dunno if "best" is the right word, but I was bummed that "Ringer" didn't get a second season.
ReplyDeleteAnd American Gothic of course.
TSC and Ravenswood for sure. RW seemed like it was gonna get even darker and trippier, I was so intrigued haha
ReplyDeleteIt got two seasons, 21 episodes each.
ReplyDeleteComedy: Trophy Wife
ReplyDeleteDrama: Once Upon a Time in Wonderland -- finally a show that got a great finale and that did not end on a cliffhanger.
Terra Nova and Crisis :( I miss TN
ReplyDeleteFirefly and Freaks and Geeks.
ReplyDeleteMoonlight
ReplyDeleteI voted none of the above, because I never watched those shows.

- Moonlight (I was so hoping it was gonna get picked up by The CW and get paired up with SPN way back then...)
You're right it did get two seasons. It was just left so unresolved that I wish it had gotten a better ending.
ReplyDelete*nods* there was something interesting about that show.
ReplyDeleteIt was definitely gaining traction when it got canceled... it was bit of a bummer!
ReplyDeletePerfect show was perfect. So bitter about that one.
ReplyDeleteBunheads was cute.
ReplyDeleteA classic...
ReplyDelete*nods* A lot of the more "classic" options are not on the list I noticed...
ReplyDeleteOh yeah... that one was cute...
ReplyDeleteI was going to say, "Where is Pushing Daisies?" but I looked on IMDB, and I guess it had two tiny seasons (late season replacement with 9 episodes and then another 13 in the fall). Great show that got ruined by the writers' strike.
ReplyDeleteI loved Trophy Wife. Better than what they put in its slot this year.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised Painkiller Jane or Believe isn't an option.
ReplyDeleteCrisis was definantly good but I miss Star Crossed, The Tomorrow People and also AlmostHuman
ReplyDeleteYeah I took a look too. And there wasn't a giant hiatus. So I'm not sure why I convinced myself they had two season. Need to check for a DVD. I'd like to own that one.

ReplyDeleteThat Google Form is fabulous. I'm going to tweet it out. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteRush (USA) was an incredible show that should've had another season.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human and Firefly.
ReplyDeleteDon't know the shows on the list. Miss Go On.
ReplyDeleteFrom this list: Terra Nova, Last Resort and No Ordinary Family. But my all-time favourite one season show is Eastwick.
ReplyDeleteNo Ordinary Family was SL good
ReplyDeleteFrom the list, only Common Law. From "outside" of the list, Complete Savages, Trophy Wife, Enlisted, Surviving Jack, Selfie, Better With You, Shit my Dad Says, Guys with Kids, I was going to say Good Morning Miami, but it had a (horrible) second season. ReplyDeleteToo bad the polls that I can submit here can only have 30 options..
had 30 options max. Please vote in full poll (Google link in my other comments).
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteWish I could have submitted it to SpoilerTV and be used instead of only the 30 options I had to pick :(
New Amsterdam
ReplyDeleteFirefly, The River, Flash Forward. Not from the list: Intelligence & Alcatraz
ReplyDeleteFrom the list: Firefly and Last Resort.
ReplyDeleteOff the list: Moonlight.
FOREVER!!! Such an incredible show with amazing characters!
ReplyDelete
