ReplyDeleteWhat are your favorite moments this past week?
ReplyDeleteMy personal favorites:
Grey's Anatomy: Meredith pulls the plug on Derek. Although, I'm still annoyed at the terrible writing of the episode, I can't fault that last scene.
Also, the Outlander moment. Laura Donnelly is the perfect fit to play Jenny, and she did an excellent job in her first episode, she was incredible.
I really think the GoT scene was too rushed. 3 minutes from giving your first orders to beheading someone for refusing your orders makes Jon kind of look like a tyrant.
ReplyDeleteDid you like the episode as a whole out of interest?
ReplyDeleteI didn't at all, but that scene redeemed the episode a bit for me.
I really liked the Car Crash part then after Derek got hit by the truck it just disgusted me the way they killed off an iconic character
ReplyDeleteI don't think he does at all. Slynt refused his command. more than once in that scene, what else could he have done. If he did nothing he would appear to the others as weak then they would just do as they please, he would have no authority. He instead decided to act, and now they will all think twice before refusing to do what he asks of them.
ReplyDeleteso basically you're saying Jon know rules the Night's Watch by fear? *cough* tyrant *cough*
ReplyDeleteNo, seriously. I'm not saying what Jon did was wrong, I think it was right and it was cool. It would have helped to cut the scene in two parts in my opinion. First indoors, then switching to another character and then the execution. Wouldn't feel so - I really can't explain it better - rushed.
Honestly it's probably better if he did run it by fear, lol. Ser Alistair is just waiting for his moment to get rid of Jon. Whilst he shouldn't do that every time someone disobeys him he made an example out of Slynt which was needed since a lot of them still think Thorn is in charge.
ReplyDeleteI get what you mean, they could have easily cut it in two, but I think the writers intended to make it one long scene to show the build up to it, and Jon preparing (having a drink etc).
I was fine with the car crash, I actually enjoyed seeing him save them people. Although, him stopping his car sideways on a road was just dumb.
ReplyDeleteI also thought it was beyond stupid to say that the neurosurgeon took 1hr 30 to get to the hospital, especially if he was oncall. Where was he eating? It was also slightly disgusting seeing them be more urgent in saving him once they knew he was a doctor.
A petition has even been started to bring him back, which obviously wont work. I just felt if they were going to write Derek off it could have been dona lot better.
I didn't like it much to be honest either. I didn't think it was as good as the previous episodes, many scenes throughout were poorly done.
ReplyDeleteI loved them scenes as well. I just love the Emma/Regina pairing we've been seeing in these past episodes.
ReplyDeleteWhy could he not of moved to DC permantly? They did not have to kill him!
ReplyDeleteExactly. I even would have preferred him to be cheating on her than have him die, that's how much I liked Derek as a character.
ReplyDeleteThis week is impossible to choose, some great moments
ReplyDeleteMmhm. That damned scene haunted my mind for god knows how long afterward. I'm still hesitant to rewatch it even now!
ReplyDeleteI approve of the "Bates Motel" pick as well. Apparently my favorite shows were determined to really freak me out last week :p!
Way too many good moments, with the season drawing to a close I expect their will be even more huge/shocking/good moments coming up.
