TVLine has learned exclusively that celebrated X-Files writer-producers Glen Morgan and James Wong have inked deals to return for Fox’s upcoming six-episode revival.
According to sources, the longtime collaborators — who were responsible for such seminal episodes as Season 1’s Beyond the Sea and Season 4’s Home and Musings of the Cigarette Smoking Man — will write and direct one episode apiece. Morgan will also serve as an exec producer alongside series creator Chris Carter.

1. There’s “a big chance” the Lone Gunmen will join returning X-vets Mulder, Scully, Skinner and The Smoking Man.

Did they get together? Didn’t they get together? If they’ve got a child together, when did they get together? These are questions that we will deal with and answer in good time.”

The cold open, a staple of The X-Files that started with the pilot, will be back. “We had to get a special dispensation to do a teaser — a little two- or three-minute segment in the beginning that sets up the show,” explains Carter. They had done away with that approach on Fox, so they allowed us to go back to, I would call it, old-style.”

The Lone Gunmen were killed off. Are they going to bring them back as flashbacks?
ReplyDeleteI somewhat hope they dont bring back too many deceased people, with only 6 episodes, it will feel forced. When theres William, Marita, Scullys mother, Gibson, toothpick man still alive.
ReplyDeleteOoh, The Lone Gunmen. I was also upset when they died. Flashbacks, cool. Video messages, cool. Brought back to life, not so cool. I loved them but not really a fan of bringing dead characters back to life.
