11:16 - Daredevil: How the Netflix Series Will Change the Marvel Cinematic Universe
We're mere days away from the release of the first of Netflix's four Marvel series - Daredevil, which will be followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and then the Defenders team-up. The introduction of the street level heroes on this platform opens up all sorts of interesting possibilities for the connected Marvel Cinematic Universe.
IGN was able to speak with Daredevil stars Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple/Night Nurse), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), and the head of Marvel television Jeph Loeb about how this series will enhance and open doors in the MCU.
"We were thinking about The Avengers vs. The Defenders," Dawson said, when asked how she felt their dark and gritty series would fit in with the larger MCU. "And I think it's a different thing. When you've got that level of superpowers, the fighting is different, the stakes are different, and it has a grander feel. In that world, they exist in it, so they know it and it's normal to them. But in reality when people are fighting and doing really bad, elicit crimes on the ground and there are guns and drugs - bones are going to break. People aren't hitting each other and nothing's going to happen because they're indestructible. These are people. They're vulnerable and you get to experience that."
"It gives you a different vibe," the actress continued. "It helps you understand the Marvel Universe that much more. That's what makes it fun to be putting this out there. It's like, 'Yeah, okay it's fantastic to see people in capes and spandex hitting each other, but we're really still talking about crimes. We're really still talking about people who step up and do what they can to make a difference in a positive way.' This [show] helps you relate that to the average Joe."
For the team behind the series, as well as audiences, Daredevil on Netflix afforded the opportunity to explore a more mature side of Marvel storytelling.

10:30 - Orphan Black's Ari Millen Talks Scary Clone Brotherhood, Following In Tatiana Maslany's Footsteps
TVLINE | What’s been the most challenging aspect of the production schedule?
Wrapping my head around playing more than one person in a day. That’s been the most rewarding, draining and exciting part of the whole year, all wrapped up in one.
TVLINE | Has Tatiana given you any tips on playing more than one character?
What I found to be the best tool for me is I’ll go to set and I’ll just watch her doing her thing, how she handles the scene. Last year, when I found out that I was going to be a clone, I went in and watched the clone dance party just to get a sense of how the [technical aspects] worked because, obviously, I was going to have to be doing it this season. But watching her, I’m learning the most lessons, for sure.
TVLINE | Where does the new season find Gracie and Mark?
Oh, what am I allowed to say? We’ve just left. They’ve just gone on the lam. They’ve just gotten married, eloped. Mark is definitely someone who has been searching for family for a very long time. He was taken under Henrik’s spell and fell in love with Gracie and is now closer than ever to having that family that he so desires. But now [there’s] the new issue of his brothers coming into the mix and how are they going to spoil what he wants for them. So he and Gracie are going to go through some tough times.
TVLINE | Was there someone you were particularly excited to have scenes with now that you have more avenues to crisscross with other characters?
I got to have a scene with Mrs. S. That was very exciting. Hopefully, I’ll get a scene with Felix. I’d love a scene with Cosima. I think she’s pretty great.

09:34 - MOVIES: Pinocchio Inspired Live-Action Film in Development at Disney
Pinocchio may finally get his wish to be a real boy—for real this time.
EW has learned that Disney is in the early process of developing a live-action film inspired by the classic tale of Pinocchio, which Disney famously made into an animated film in 1940.
About a Boy and Dan in Real Life writer Peter Hedges is set to write the script for Disney’s live-action take, which is loosely inspired the Pinocchio story. No other names are attached to the project, which is still very early in its development.
If the project takes off, it would continue Disney’s recent trend of translating many of its most famous animated properties into live action. Cinderella recently performed well at the box office, and several other live projects are reportedly in the works, including Mulan, Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, and Beauty in the Beast. All projects are in various forms of development.
