  • 22:33 - MOVIES: The Last Witch Hunter Official Teaser Trailer #1 (2015) - Vin Diesel, Michael Caine Movie

  • 20:15 - ABC to Save Nearly $10 Million in Patrick Dempsey 'Grey's Anatomy' Exit
While longtime viewers of Grey's Anatomy might be furious over leading man Patrick Dempsey's departure from the series, ABC might be cheering his exit.

Dempsey was among TV's highest-paid stars, earning what sources say was about $400,000 an episode — or roughly $9.6 million for a 24-episode season of the drama, which is produced by ABC Studios.

The actor, 49, was written out when his Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd was killed off in the April 23 episode, which was penned by series creator Shonda Rhimes. Perhaps even more surprising was that Dempsey had another year left on his contract.

  2. I don't see what good it would do to release this information. ABC is just adding fuel to the fire, I don't get it.

  3. The Last Witch Hunter -
I cannot wait for this! This one will be fun to watch. I love the score of it already. Let them keep that in the movie please.

    Greys-
That's lovely. Very nice that they saved all of that money on PD's contract only to burn it on all of those cancelled shows they're going to have. At least 7, IMO. Idiots. He can make that and more when he gets another show, preferably on cable. A show that won't be a mediocre soap fest.

  4. Broadcast TV is always about money and nothing else. Why are people surprised ABC is thinking like that?

  5. ABC didn't release it, that's just an calculation since we know how much Patrick made per episode.

  6. If only ABC spend some of the 10 million to get Sandra Oh, Kate Walsh and Tyne Daly to return for the funeral episode.

  7. He's start up pay on a new show won't be anywhere near 400k per episode, but apparently he is more interested in producing a new show atm.

  8. So sad it's not going to hapen :(((

  9. I figured, I was just being snippy. I'm glad he wants to produce, I'm sure he'll do great, whatever he decides to do.

  10. I'm sure Cristina, Sam, Addison, and Naomi couldn't make it because they are all over in Nepal with Doctor's Without Borders helping the Earthquake victims.

  11. VEEP: I know the episode aired already, but OMG! The Dan/Amy scenes were amazing!

Undateable: Not really interested to see any kind of Candace/Justin romance... hope that falls through fast.

Battle Creek is such a good show. Pity it doesn't stand a snowball's chance... I was hoping we'd get some Milt backstory answers in this last episode, but no dice. Well maybe that guy Milt is talking to in those eppy stills might offer some insight. And at least it's some comfort to also see Holly and Russ get a bit "close" by the season/series end. Not too much, but it's better than nothing...

I liked Kingsmen. Didn't love it but it was good fun. Fingers crossed for the second one to also at least be some good fun.

That was a nice press release for Green Eggs and Ham.
    *applauds the Netflix PR department*
I can totally buy that the financial aspect did play a part in Patrick Dempsey's exit from Grey's. I don't think it's the only reason, but I definitely think it was a factor.
