As soon as he said "the timing is off", I knew where he was going with this and thought to myself: "The timing is way, way off." I mean, once Iris founds out he's known Barry is The Flash, she'd most likely call off the engagement.
Ummmmmm Joe I'm right there with you dude. Just uhhh, go easy on him. Just a little bit. You know what, don't give him your blessing. That's the way for you to get out of this rock and hard place.
Probably not happening. It would be a waste of a potential storyline, time travel and Iris is too important mythos wise. And this show seems to stick to the core of Flash lore. Plus then no Bart Allen.
Yeah right! Have U met Barry? I say it could, but doesn't have to.i personally puts a bad omen upon their relationship. And come on Her husband is missing and she writes articles??? O.o Doesn't sound like the happy couple to me.
Yeah it would have massively. Barry became the Flash over a half a decade earlier. If they fight in 2024. He'll have a decade of experience far more than his original self. Not to mention how Thawne's time travel impact his family, his relationship with Joe, Iris, Eddie and everything.
But that is not a terrible decision either. The idea that she's the one writing The Flash articles, there was no other way to not reveal that she and Barry gets married. They had to have gotten married before The Flash ends up disappearing.
Sadly I know that but I really can't help myself. Candice as Iris isn't working for me, espexially her scenes with Barry. Don't know why but I just don't like her. I don't even know at which point I started cause initially I was quite fond of her.
Ohhh it's very nice to see!!! I didn't see it the first time b/c I didn't pause the clip I wanted to watch the clip. But I paused it this time and read that entire sentence and this happened.....= D = D = D.
But that goes back to the newspaper though....why is the newspaper the same since Barry has become The Flash seven years prior and even Reverse-Flash showed up to face The Flash six years prior.
Personally I like her. I like Iris as a character and I enjoy Candice and I really like Iris' interaction with the other characters (can't wait till she knows). Hell I can't wait for her to talk to Eobard.
They shouldn't have adressed it at this point or put Linda's name besides it. It would be reasonable for Iris not to write it cause her husband is the one missing.
I don't think Barry will tell Iris until she knows and they're together. I think it was just done to hint at a possible future. Or the life that Eobard took from Barry and only to further motivate him to stop him and save his mom.
Unless it's mention that that's the cause, it's a huge inconsistency, especially when I'm sure THAT battle between The Flash and Reverse-Flash will be the battle we will see before the first season ends.
Linda did initially report on the explosion in the Pilot so she could've done this as well. The issue isn't him being her husband, it's her writing it while he is missing.
There's reasons for her now to say no. If she found out AFTER (It doesn't need to be before) his proposal, that'd just put the icing on the cake. It wouldn't be just a "no" or a "I need time to think" this would be a hell no.
not sure if Joe is going to say yes, damn sure Iris won't say yes. Also: Why didn't Eobard secure his secret room? pretty careless if you ask me. his mortal enemy could just walk in and discover his secrets.
They could have her give birth then have her killed. Bart Allen isn't that well loved though. I remember they killed him because he was affecting the comic sales.
It had many huge things. Tonight will be amazing. I just hope I don't have to cry anymore. Idk if I have any tears left. I balled my eyes out last night with my shows. I can't afford to cry anymore. Sigh.....on another note, I have a lot to do, and I haven't moved yet.
Keeping the secret amongst the cast is an foolish idea. It speaks poorly to the hero, and the intelligence of loved ones. And it divides stories and hinders potential.
I have to disagree. I don't say U are wrong but all of them knowing isn't helping the story either. I prefer when there is a bit mystery and that there is more space for the hero on his own. An other thing is that the writers can't handle it.
From what I understood each day when events happen Gideon accesses the news paper from the future and Wells reassures himself whether the future is changed. Thus when Barry lost his power with that meta human the headline in future paper changed. Then later when Barry got his powers back the headlines changed back.
Long story short, i pulled a very rookie mistake and i don't have my Avengers ticket. Now i have to settle for going to a Queens theater instead of going to my Manhattan theater and it's pissing me off.
The newspaper doesn't change unless Gideon changes it. I imagine each time something happens in the past(present) she does calculations to determine if it would cause damage to the timeline. If it would change something she changes it.
It's also possible that something HAS already changed, aside from the PA going off early, and Reverse Flash simply course-corrected so that the newspaper remains the same.
Mystery? We have that with Thawne. We don't need mystery in the form of lying and leaving characters out of the loop. How? Everytime a character in any adaptation or comic has been brought into the fold (especially on Arrow and the Flash) it has only bettered them.
Have one what?? I have nothing!! I actually bought it last week but it gave me the wrong time and i exchanged it for credit. I still have to buy my ticket over, i'm just weighing my options. But i'm taking too long so i have to make a decision fast. I'm just being stubborn about it.
Compare the Flarrowverse to Smallville. The Sm writers did such a great job in writing storylines for the characters even though they weren't in on Clarke's secret. I all depends on how U layer the story and give the characters space to develop within that given story. I don't say the secret has to be revealed in S05 or so but a little of suspense, awkward moments and even a bit distrust would've helped the show in the longer run.
Right except for the awful Lana not knowing FOR seven seasons. The whole Lex never being trusted and that being a huge part of what drove him to investigate Clark further and embrace darkness. and not knowing only kept characters out of the loom and divided story lines and interactions. Making certain characters feel unimportant (like Lana for how knows long- all she was, was a glorified love interest for five seasons-) Distrust helps nothing. It only pushes characters away, angers the audience, makes Barry out to be a overprotective dick and will honestly only cause unnecessary complications. Thank God Iris will learn this season. It's one thing I unabashedly love about these writers, they hate keeping secret identities secret from other mains.
True. In spoiler pics it looks like she might be giving a blue box back to Eddie. So I wonder if he proposes after she finds out about Barry, and she asks him to think about it, but ultimately decides not to. Although I could still see her asking to think about it regardless of when she learns about Barry. (Also I wonder if she ever finds out about her last name in that future by-line?? Probably unlikely but I would love to see her face if she did.)
I on the other hand chersih allbthat secret keeping they did in SM. It worked so well and it was more than freaking reasonable as C is an alien. It's different with Oliver and Barry but for SM it was so well executed, I enjoyed every single bit of it. I agree Lana was in the dark gor to long but they found a way for her to be part of the story and impact Clarke's live in an amazing way, that wasn't only romantic.
But that's what I am referring to. If this newspaper details a battle between Flash and Reverse-Flash, why hasn't the paper in 2024 changed when that likely battle will now happen now in 2015?
Not necessarily. The newspaper we get to see is not what Wells experienced in 2024. But what is going to happen now that all the events of our timeline has happened. He wants Flash to vanish particularly in 2024. I don't know why. But there must be a reason. That does not mean in the future that he is coming from this particular event happened in 2024. It could have happened in 2031. My guess is if Wells could have successfully without suspicion build a particle accelerator before 2013 he would have done so. May be he needed some technology to catch up and Barry to reach a particular age. My belief is he blew up the accelerator as soon as he can and created Gideon to make sure this particular event happened in future.
But the 2025 newspaper is pretty much if the particle accelerator were turned on in 2020 as Thawne mentioned. It was created seven years prior and Flash and Reverse-Flash are already meeting in 2015, nine years before. That's my question. The 2024 paper's headline should have changed once Flash and Reverse-Flash always meet, should it not? Especially when their battle will happen now as well.
It was never mentioned anywhere that the paper actually shows the future if particle accelerator were turned on in 2024. It was never said explicitly that the future Wells looking in is the one happened in his time line. Only thing we know about it is this particular event has to happen for Wells. Also the words in the paper does not mean Flash and RF are clashing for the first time.
My belief is Harrison Wells wants this particular event to happen 10 years from Barry becoming Flash and he is trying his best to make it work. I think it will take Barry 10 years to improve his speed to the ultimate place where RF can tap into Barry's power and use it to travel back to his time. That's why he is always urging Barry to improve his speed. I think its not the date but its Barry's speed which is the key here. My guess is it is this particular event where Barry accidentally time travels to Eobard's future time and Eobard is now trying to recreate this event earlier so he can hitch hike along with Barry.
I think it's a foregone conclusion, though that with the talking of a particle accelerator being turned on in 2020 that that is when Barry became The Flash, but Thawne sped up plans.
Thawne has already implied to Barry the importance of not messing up the time line and not to reveal details of the short brief time travel to him. Remember he checked the newspaper to ensure the time line had not been changed. SO whatever Wells was doing it; he wasn't messing up the timeline. In fact Wells, keeps checking the newspaper throughout the season to ensure the timeline continual. Remember in one episode the timeline changed when he saw the newspaper but then it was fixed. Barry discovering his marriage to Iris can change it from happening. In the movie BACK to the future, Marty was using the photograph to keep an eye on the future. I think Barry can mess it up, and Catlin and Cisco need to be careful. Hopefully that Dr Stein will talk with them about the dangers of knowing too much about the future.
I doubt knowing itself will change them getting married. But yes if Barry's not careful everything will be f*cked with. Except Thawne willing changes the timeline when it suits him. He doesn't give a damn about maintaining it, only maintaining his future.
It is imperative for Thawne to make sure Barry AKA the FLASH stays dissappeared. So Thawne believes that he has not messed up the future. BUT when He goes back into the room and checks the newspaper it will be surprising to see if the future has changed now that Barry knows.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
As soon as he said "the timing is off", I knew where he was going with this and thought to myself: "The timing is way, way off." I mean, once Iris founds out he's known Barry is The Flash, she'd most likely call off the engagement.
ReplyDeleteIt's a bad time to ask for Iris's hand Eddie ! Still wondering what Joe will say ? And more importantly, is Iris going to say yes ?
ReplyDeleteIndeed she will do that for sure.
ReplyDeleteUmmmmmm Joe I'm right there with you dude. Just uhhh, go easy on him. Just a little bit. You know what, don't give him your blessing. That's the way for you to get out of this rock and hard place.
ReplyDeleteTold you he was going to propose.
ReplyDeleteHahahahh Iris West Allen! I'm going to throw up! Terrible decision to reveal it.
ReplyDeleteThat second sneak... Cisco is so really torn between loving this and being totally freaked out. Lol at his "mazel tov?" quote.
ReplyDeleteBut so much awesome and so much potential confusion. This is what Wells was talking about a few weeks ago, Barry.
Oh when Eobard and Barry meet for the first time. It will be great.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait. This episode is going to be so amazing.
ReplyDeleteSo he knows the future now. His battle who Eobard, the disappearance, the suit and him and Iris. Cool.
ReplyDeleteI never doubted that?
ReplyDeleteYes Cisco make a brighter red suit. Green Arrow, The Atom and Hawkgirl are mention in the newspaper.
ReplyDeleteBut then she'll turn up in the future. And they'll have Dawn and Don. And Don will have Bart.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they could go dark this time and have her actually die.
ReplyDeleteProbably not happening. It would be a waste of a potential storyline, time travel and Iris is too important mythos wise. And this show seems to stick to the core of Flash lore. Plus then no Bart Allen.
ReplyDeleteWell as long as I can point out how doomed they are.
ReplyDelete"The Flash, with help of Starling City's GREEN ARROW, The Atom and Hawkgirl"
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't hurt them, either. Knowing this won't change anything for now.
ReplyDeleteEven though it's been said a lot that he'll become Green Arrow. Still nice to hear.
ReplyDeleteAHHHHH CISCO I LOVE YOU!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!
ReplyDeleteLol it's kinda sad.
ReplyDeleteHow so? Iris would be the only person to write about The Flash.
ReplyDeleteYeah right! Have U met Barry?
ReplyDeleteI say it could, but doesn't have to.i personally puts a bad omen upon their relationship.
ReplyDeleteI meant revealing her last name is a twrrible decision, not she writing.
ReplyDeleteSince the weekend, I haven't been able to watch any of the clips.. any suggestion?
ReplyDeleteYouTube.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAtQC7VG0zM
ReplyDeleteBut that is not a terrible decision either. The idea that she's the one writing The Flash articles, there was no other way to not reveal that she and Barry gets married. They had to have gotten married before The Flash ends up disappearing.
ReplyDeleteSadly I know that but I really can't help myself. Candice as Iris isn't working for me, espexially her scenes with Barry. Don't know why but I just don't like her. I don't even know at which point I started cause initially I was quite fond of her.
ReplyDeleteOhhh it's very nice to see!!! I didn't see it the first time b/c I didn't pause the clip I wanted to watch the clip. But I paused it this time and read that entire sentence and this happened.....= D = D = D.
ReplyDeleteBut that goes back to the newspaper though....why is the newspaper the same since Barry has become The Flash seven years prior and even Reverse-Flash showed up to face The Flash six years prior.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I don't think they did this random, they dropped this and intend to play with that. Lets see what they plan to do woth this.
ReplyDeletePersonally I like her. I like Iris as a character and I enjoy Candice and I really like Iris' interaction with the other characters (can't wait till she knows). Hell I can't wait for her to talk to Eobard.
ReplyDeleteThey shouldn't have adressed it at this point or put Linda's name besides it. It would be reasonable for Iris not to write it cause her husband is the one missing.

ReplyDeleteOhhh Graydon. = )
ReplyDeleteSooo with you. This^^ 100%
ReplyDeleteYou want to really mind*ck people they also could have put Linda West beside Iris' name.
ReplyDeleteShe is his lightning rod.
ReplyDeleteLinda Park does sports. Why would she be writing about The Flash's battle against Reverse-Flash?
ReplyDeleteAnd I disagree....Iris would still be the perfect person to write the article on The Flash, even when it's her husband.
THISSSSS!!!!! You have no idea how much I'm waiting for that scene!! It's Inevitable. It will be shown.
ReplyDeleteGideon can access either multiple timelines, or that future is inevitable. Probably the latter. Or both.
ReplyDeleteUnless it's mention that that's the cause, it's a huge inconsistency, especially when I'm sure THAT battle between The Flash and Reverse-Flash will be the battle we will see before the first season ends.
ReplyDeleteYou got it.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? But the day there is a Wally West, Barry Allen and Bart Allen scene oh that could even top a future arc.
ReplyDeleteLinda did initially report on the explosion in the Pilot so she could've done this as well.
ReplyDeleteThe issue isn't him being her husband, it's her writing it while he is missing.
What cause?
ReplyDeleteAnd that is why Barry dating Linda was hilarious to me.
ReplyDeleteBTW Why is Hal Jordan in Gotham?
ReplyDeleteWe will see how that will look, Ur wish could come truth tonight.
ReplyDeleteWhy not?
ReplyDeleteThere's reasons for her now to say no. If she found out AFTER (It doesn't need to be before) his proposal, that'd just put the icing on the cake. It wouldn't be just a "no" or a "I need time to think" this would be a hell no.
ReplyDeleteI liked Malese. She was so sweet but still so confident. The show really needs more characters that doesn't know who Barry is.
ReplyDeleteI wish Linda knew. Barry could use a awkward friend who he dated to talk to. Plus then she could meet Wally and this could be even more hilarious.
ReplyDeleteThanks babe lol
ReplyDeleteClearly those sneak peeks had something huge in them the thread is on fire. SO EXCITED!!! Less than 6 hours to go.
I feel like he's wasted there. Like no powers and pre-Batman. Also he would be very old by the time Bruce gets older.
ReplyDeletenot sure if Joe is going to say yes, damn sure Iris won't say yes.
ReplyDeleteAlso: Why didn't Eobard secure his secret room? pretty careless if you ask me. his mortal enemy could just walk in and discover his secrets.
*Imagines scene* *Wanders off into space*. Longing sigh.
ReplyDeleteGotham isn't tied to this universe. Bruce would be around Barry's age.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome (daydreams). One day Shannon.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly.
ReplyDeleteStill feels weird.
ReplyDeleteThat was Arrow's fault in using that character. That shouldn't have been Linda Park.
ReplyDeleteWhat else should Iris do? Just not do her job?
God it'd be cool if he could also end up in the Speed Force and encounter Max Mercury.
ReplyDeleteThey could have her give birth then have her killed. Bart Allen isn't that well loved though. I remember they killed him because he was affecting the comic sales.
ReplyDeletewho is this man ok stop texeing me ok p ok
ReplyDeleteShe's not dying well not for good. He's still a huge character and has a sizeable fan base.
ReplyDeleteWhat are you doing to me?? Are you TRYING to kill me??? Stoppp!!
ReplyDeleteI'm just excited. The Speed Force exists, Grodd is coming. As is Wally. Everything.
ReplyDeleteIt had many huge things. Tonight will be amazing. I just hope I don't have to cry anymore. Idk if I have any tears left. I balled my eyes out last night with my shows. I can't afford to cry anymore. Sigh.....on another note, I have a lot to do, and I haven't moved yet.
ReplyDeleteI think she appeared in the Flash pilot as well. Not sure.
ReplyDeleteTo many people already know, don't push that further. I started to cherish Arrow for keeping the secret so long.
ReplyDeleteKeeping the secret amongst the cast is an foolish idea. It speaks poorly to the hero, and the intelligence of loved ones. And it divides stories and hinders potential.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha. I understand. I'm just a little more mellow right now, I'm having a bit of a crisis here and I'm freaking out!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the crisis?
ReplyDeleteI'm so tired of crying. I've been crying all last week. And I think that will continue until the end of May :(
ReplyDeleteSo "The Flash, with the help of Starling City's Green Arrow, The Atom and Hawkgirl...". Ok, i'm interested Jajajaja
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree. I don't say U are wrong but all of them knowing isn't helping the story either. I prefer when there is a bit mystery and that there is more space for the hero on his own. An other thing is that the writers can't handle it.
ReplyDeleteOh Joe's face at Eddie's proposal. I feel sorry for Eddie. Its a loose loose situation for him whichever way it goes.
ReplyDeleteIris West-Allen has a nice ring to it. Mazeltov it is.
That is so cool to read.
ReplyDeleteThey know too much now. This could be a problem.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I understood each day when events happen Gideon accesses the news paper from the future and Wells reassures himself whether the future is changed. Thus when Barry lost his power with that meta human the headline in future paper changed. Then later when Barry got his powers back the headlines changed back.
ReplyDeleteSo we get OQ codename GA is acknowledge but still starling not star city.....
ReplyDeleteThis could still change maybe why barry ask for help
Long story short, i pulled a very rookie mistake and i don't have my Avengers ticket. Now i have to settle for going to a Queens theater instead of going to my Manhattan theater and it's pissing me off.
ReplyDeleteThe newspaper doesn't change unless Gideon changes it. I imagine each time something happens in the past(present) she does calculations to determine if it would cause damage to the timeline. If it would change something she changes it.
ReplyDeleteIt's also possible that something HAS already changed, aside from the PA going off early, and Reverse Flash simply course-corrected so that the newspaper remains the same.
Joe West is chief!
ReplyDeleteThat sucks. At least you have one. And you live in New York, that sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteMystery? We have that with Thawne. We don't need mystery in the form of lying and leaving characters out of the loop. How? Everytime a character in any adaptation or comic has been brought into the fold (especially on Arrow and the Flash) it has only bettered them.
ReplyDeleteHave one what?? I have nothing!! I actually bought it last week but it gave me the wrong time and i exchanged it for credit. I still have to buy my ticket over, i'm just weighing my options. But i'm taking too long so i have to make a decision fast. I'm just being stubborn about it.

ReplyDeleteTrue. In spoiler pics it looks like she might be giving a blue box back to Eddie. I agree Lana was in the dark gor to long but they found a way for her to be part of the story and impact Clarke's live in an amazing way, that wasn't only romantic.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Palmer buy Queen's company and so it wouldn't exist for Wayne to purchase?
ReplyDeleteHas this been brought up in canon? I thought in "Power Outage", when Thawne asked for the future, Gideon showed the updated newspaper of that date.
ReplyDeleteBut that's what I am referring to. If this newspaper details a battle between Flash and Reverse-Flash, why hasn't the paper in 2024 changed when that likely battle will now happen now in 2015?

Nah it is just my baseless speculation.
ReplyDeleteUGH MAKES ME THROW UP THAT IRIS... ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletei love seeing time travel references that i actually get LOL
ReplyDeleteGREEN Arrow?! Hawkgirl and The Atom? whoa i completely missed that
ReplyDeleteI saw that too! Pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a foregone conclusion, though that with the talking of a particle accelerator being turned on in 2020 that that is when Barry became The Flash, but Thawne sped up plans.

ReplyDeleteYes but they still used her.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter...it was still archive footage. If Arrow had used someone that made sense, so would have The Flash.
ReplyDelete
