Dembe Zuma will not be leaving Raymond Reddington’s side anytime soon. Hisham Tawfiq, who has been recurring on The Blacklist, playing Red’s bodyguard and protector, has been promoted to a series regular for NBC drama’s recently picked up third season.
Introduced in the first episode after the pilot, Tawfiq’s Dembe has appeared in virtually every episode since. His backstory revealed that he shares a special bond with Red who years before had saved him from the world of human trafficking.

well about time!
ReplyDeleteIt better be true! Please!
ReplyDeleteWell that took them long enough. Now I wonder if he will get some actual lines to say.
ReplyDeleteHe must be the most speechless series regular ever
ReplyDeleteAbout time! He has been in 37 out of 39 episodes, so far.
ReplyDeleteLove Dembe!
ReplyDeleteNice!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he will get more than one line every 10 episodes? XD
Finally.
ReplyDeleteI already thought he was considering he's been in almost every episode. Anyway,I couldn't imagine Red with anyone else.It would be like Batman without Robin,Espo without Ryan...i could go on,but won't,lol!
ReplyDeleteMaybe he'll get two lines of dialogue per episode now?
ReplyDeleteDembe doesn't need to talk, he is like the nicer version of Burton from Banshee.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, he should be! He may not have many lines but he's got more charisma and acting talent than certain other regulars I could mention. Plus, Red and Dembe's relationship is my favorite one of the show!
ReplyDeleteDembe is amazing! I love his loyalty. So happy he's reached a series regular status!
