    Considering this episode has been a carbon copy of season 4, I imagine this will be the episode that Sam will realise he can't do things (spells / exorcise demons using his powers) that will save the lives of others without the help of someone else (Rowena / Ruby) and something else (demon blood / whatever it is that will lead Sam to do 'dark' this season).

    Dean, on the other hand, is getting more and more immersed in the supernatural life (the Angels and being told he's the one to stop the apocalypse in season 4 / MOC) and is building up his supernatural buddies (Castiel / Benny).
