This sneak peek was not for me. Monologue from Charlie, silent Sam. Charlie has a lot of confidence if she thought she could get someone like Scarlett Johansson. :D
Oh, she is the hunter know??? Poor her, of course she has to sacrifice her had-to be-happy sparkly life for miserable hunting, bcs those 2 incompetent idiots Winchesters won't survive without her brilliancy. I am surprised Sam haven't ask her for forgiveness for spoiling her life. Ugh. Charlie needs to go.
I think we should probably wait and see what the episode is about before we tar and feather the writers. Like the last episode wheb everyone was so horrified that it was going to sans Sam, it wasn't.
God, that was awful. Charlie is now a full-time hunter moved fully into the mytharc. Sc*&w that. I am not watching any episode that has FAN FAVORITE Charlie in it starting with this one.
Ooooooh! With a monologue like that, she is definitely gone by the end of the episode!!!!!! RIP Charlie :'( I'm hoping not though because she is my favourite character next to Crowley
Charlie is Robbie,s creation and like Dean gets to monologue about how awful life as treated her. The writers have mastered the art of silent Sam makes their life easier .
Sam really hasn't done anything this season! In fact, neither has Dean! This season has mostly been about emotionally developing the King of Hell, an annoying attempt at a big bad, and trying to give character to the MotW's! This season has maybe three rewatchable ones and that is it!
Sam's sole purpose on the show has been to get run over with a big wheelie bus the damage just depends on what character is driving it. Start with Dean at the highest point and work down.
What do you mean "she'll be back"? Please don't tell me she'll come back for the 3rd time this season! Seeing her just once this season was more than enough but I really can't take it if she gets tied with one of the 3 main episode of the end, the horror of having her as a semi-regular for the next season..... *shudder*
Felicia Day told IGN recently, "I can say that I will be appearing again this season, but I can't say anything more than that because I don't want to get into trouble."
She'll probably appear in episode 10.21 Dark Dynasty.
She was promoting Charlie's return in Book of the Damned and was asked:
IGN: And as she continues to work with them – like you said she's been back, she's invested, she's part of this little family -- is there a continued plan for Charlie to keep popping up and helping out?
Day: I can say that I will be appearing again this season, but I can't say anything more than that because I don't want to get into trouble.
I'd post a link but my post would probably just be moderated for hours. :D
Thank you was wondering when she became a hunter i know when she came back she read their books but she sucked at the fbi thing so not sure going to oz and looking for the book of damned means you are a hunter i mean she is not like any of the other hunters on the show heck jo and ellen killed more stuff then her and sheriff mills she calls the boys but charlie gag me. i already don't watch there's no place like home refuse to i hope enough sam and dean away from charlie i can enjoy this eps and she is coming back again why??
In a couple of brief strokes of his pen, Thompson moved Charlie from little Winchester sister, in and out of another dimension while winning a decades old war single-handedly, into the mytharc as a full-fledged hardened hunter on the Winchester level, and even moaning over the difficult life of a hunter.
That trivializes every single thing there is about the Winchesters and their story, now doesn't it.
Of course Charlie would whine about her two years as a hunter been awful to SAM of all people (you know the guy who had to do the salsa with Lucifer for two years? who had a demon bleed in his mouth as a baby? Who has died himself watched the people he loves die? Who has the guilt of the Apocalypse in his shoulders?).
Yeah Charlie, I am sure your Year on Oz where you got to play "super-awesome-general-defeating-armies-single-handed" , compares to a lifetime of hunting. And the fact Thompson wrote Sam agreeing with her cheerfully is a slap on the face.
The next episode shes in Robbie is not writing her so I will take solace in that. In if she comes out as decent, I will demand if this character comes back someone else writes her.
Yep... what San Summer said and most likely 10.21. Yeah, I share your fear and unless the show kills her off or incapacitates her either emotionally or physically show might up her appearances next year. Both Js apparently like FD and Charlie.
You're right: nobody can complain to Sam about life as a hunter. The show writers seem to have forgotten, but Sam spent a year and a half with Lucifer in hell. Why can't Sam have more meaningful dialogue? Seriously, even the sneak peaks can't have him have a decent line. And the next episode: Sam teaming up with Rowena. Whatever Sam does to help Dean will end up being a terrible mistake; and Dean even with his MOC can do no wrong.
Another day in Supernatural. Sam cannot get any dialogue. If the writers are so attuned to the fans etc., do they not listen to any complaints about their writing for Sam?
As the show is now, watching the first one or two episodes at the beginning of a season and the finale, and the audience will know the season's Winchester story -- what little there is of it. It will be the same thing next season.
Technically more than a year and a half. A year and a half was just earth time. Dean said 4 months in hell felt like 40 years earth time. And he wasn't even at the deepest levels with the a couple angry archangels that just so happen to be some of the most powerful things in the universe lol.
Charlie's awesomeness and all the pain she has experienced in her five minutes of hunting does not make confetti of just Sam's life. It diminishes the entire Supernatural show and the entire Winchester history.
It diminishes John losing his wife, Dean his mother, and Sam's whole life being manipulated, including losing Jess. It diminishes John dedicating his life to finding the YED and raising his boys as he did. It diminishes John going to Hell to save Dean. It diminishes Dean selling his should to save his brother and Cas 'raising him from Perdition" because he had unfinished work. It diminishes Sam jumping in the hole with Lucifer. It diminishes Dean committing suicide to get Sam's soul back. It diminishes the Winchesters losing all their friends and family. It diminishes Sam fighting his way through mental illness to stand by Dean's side. It diminishes Dean going to Purgatory as the result of saving the world from the Leviathans.
All of that is nothing compared to Charlie's misery at INVOLVING HERSELF in a life that she hoped to find magically adventurous and now means she won't get to own her own start-up company, because she is just that special. Obviously true, since we have seen Sam sit in silence many times when he has no answer for Dean's pain and, here, even shakes his head in agreement to the pain she is experiencing.
I am convinced that Robbie Thompson needs therapy.
Ah the great argument. My life is worse so you can't complain about yourself. Just because Charlie has easier doesn't mean she can't feel tired and miserable. Nobody saying here Sam's life wasn't hard so what's the problem?
The problem is that Charlie being put "on equal footing" with the Winchesters, as Felicia Day said in her most recent interview, completely trivializes the entire SPN story and everything that the Winchesters have been through.
Not surprising, though, since hunting isn't anything special and anybody can do, which leads me to wonder what is so special about the Winchesters and why are we supposed to think of them as "heroes?"
It's a classic sample though. That is what Sam's character has been reduced to. The complaint has been consistently voiced by many fans of the show that Sam's point of view is completely missing. And he doesn't speak much at all. That's a fact. And this season by far seems the worst. What has Sam done in this season that has been worthwhile? Even getting Dean back from being a demon was quite ordinary compared to how Dean saved Sam in the previous seasons. They could have done so much more to show how and why Sam is so worried about Dean. e.g. When Dean goes to fight Cain, he in a rare moment of weakness mentions to Sam that he is scared. We see Dean's face but no reaction from Sam. That could have been a classic moment between the brothers. Sam getting to comfort Dean or even struggling to do so. He is mostly just a secondary character now; which is so unfair.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeletewow okay that was it?

ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for Jared, I really do.
ReplyDeleteIt's the same with his "interactions" with Dean now : prentend to care about other people's monologues.
Okay...so has Sam gone mute or something?...lol
ReplyDeleteOh this is the the 2nd Charlie episode? There goes my excitement for this week
ReplyDeleteI think we should probably wait and see what the episode is about before we tar and feather the writers. Like the last episode wheb everyone was so horrified that it was going to sans Sam, it wasn't.
ReplyDeleteCain dies but the annoying Mary Sue lives on?!? Something is broken on Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteNo, he's just awestruck by the honor of being in the presence of the 'smartest person in the room'. Ugh. Robbie, please shut her the frak up.
ReplyDeleteNo, same one. But she'll be back.

In all that surrounds him the egotist sees only the frame of his own portrait. Sincerely Robbie Thompson

Oh shoot me! You're sure she didn't mean this ep? (I'm trying to be hopeful!)
ReplyDeleteThanks @San Summer :)

No, no, I wouldn't read this interview at all anyway ;) There goes my little tiny ray of hope!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)

ReplyDeleteThat trivializes every single thing there is about the Winchesters and their story, now doesn't it.
I've skipped at least three (maybe four) of them already. I cant say I've missed anything important.
ReplyDeleteWorst of all, he has actually made me dislike the actress. I cringe every time I see her face.
ReplyDeleteOf course Charlie would whine about her two years as a hunter been awful to SAM of all people (you know the guy who had to do the salsa with Lucifer for two years? who had a demon bleed in his mouth as a baby? ReplyDeleteMe, too, and I mostly like everything else FD's done.
ReplyDeleteGood one! Sam's acting like one of her 'Bobbleheads' (sp?) in her first appearance in S7 - smiling and agreeing.

ReplyDeleteTrue, my mistake. So more than a 100 years easily. Jeez, talk about being under appreciated. Sam needs new friends.
