Silicon Valley - Sand Hill Shuffle - Advanced Preview

Silicon Valley returns for season two on April 12 on HBO at Sunday at 10pm with “Sand Hill Shuffle.” The episode is written by Clay Tarver and directed by series creator Mike Judge. The episode picks up in the aftermath of Pied Piper’s big win at TechCrunch. You’d think that the guys would all be sitting pretty now, but not much has really changed – which in the comedy world is actually a pretty good thing!

As the episode opens, the Pied Piper team are being woo’d by other tech companies as they wait for the final papers to come from Gregory (Christopher Evan Welch). They enjoy being the center of attention as much as we’d expect them to. Richard (Thomas Middleditch) is clearly not enjoying himself while Erlich (TJ Miller) is loving every second. Meanwhile, Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) and Chugtai (Kumail Nanjiani) continue their usual one-up-manship antics.

The group get thrown a pretty big curve ball early in the episode that leads to them seriously considering other offers. Against all odds, Erlich finally delivers on his promises of great negotiation skills – and they lead to a series of pretty funny scenes.

Gavin Belson (Matt Ross) is still determined to kill Pied Piper and is still a formidable nemesis while Monica (Amanda Crew) remains a stalwart ally. Jared (Zach Woods) continues to be their awkward doormat. New to the show is Suzanne Cryer as Laurie Bream. Her character is delightfully scattered.

If you liked season one, the first episode of season two should make you happy – and make you laugh! Are you excited for the show to return? Don’t forget to tune in Sunday night at 10/9c on HBO.
