Update: 22:54 From MTV

"Check out the official teaser for Scream! Everyone has secrets. Everyone tells lies. Everyone is fair game. Don't miss MTV's new series 'Scream' coming June 30th."

I wonder when we'll get a teaser for a teaser of a teaser promo?

  2. I'm an absolute geek for the Scream movies but if the show is annoying as that promo for a promo, I'm going to be pissed.

  3. Don't like it. But I think it's just an edit for this and it has nothing to do with the final style.

  4. Seems like a clever homage to 1970's slasher movies, so I am not getting the complaints from a few you at all. Haven't any of you ever watched a giallo (Italian horror movie) before? Ride With the Devil? Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)?

  5. Why didn't they pair it with Teen Wolf? They could have gotten a horror night, plus it would get a decent lead-in.

  6. Yep, I thought it was a clever homage. I guess we're showing our age :)

  7. I am actually a little young to have seen the movies in a theater but worked at a video store in the early 90's and I still remember the employees getting really excited about Suspiria coming out on video (I had never heard of the film before) and being blown away when I watched the film.

  8. Great film. I grew up on the old style slasher movies esp Dario etc. I had already had a love of the very old B/W horror Lugosi, Cushing, Lee, lon chaney jr etc

  9. Vincent Price for me when I was too young to watch R rated movies. Also liked a few of the Hammer films that I would catch on TV as well. Halloween was my first slasher film (still a classic film). Big fan of Carpenter's Thing though it is not 100% horror.

  12. Getting people excited for the show with a promo is not good enough. You have to get people excited for the promo with a teaser promo for promo.

  13. Cool. Looking forward to this. Not sure what the complaints are about, what do you expect from a teaser for a teaser lol. Looks like the premiere date wasn't June 6th or October!

Lol, I blame Marvel for this trend!

  14. Seems to be three types of cable programming. 1. The Showtime/HBO model where they are known for airing originals on a single night. 2. The TNT/USA/ABC Family model that airs shows back to back using a lead in like the networks. 3. The FX model that airs original shows at 10pm on various nights of the week. MTV seems to be going with option 3.
