Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. The overnights are your first look at what to potentially expect when the other results come in. And we always take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.

Ratings Breakdown:
CBS topped this Easter Sunday, besting No. 2 ABC by 23 percent in the household overnights with its older-skewing combination of “60 Minutes” (#1: 6.0 rating/12 share), “Madam Secretary” (#1: 6.4/11), “The Good Wife” (#2: 5.6/ 9) and waiting-to-be axed recent entry “Battle Creek” (#2: 3.6/ 6). And ABC aired its annual telecast of 1956 theatrical “The Ten Commandments,” which scored a respectable 4.4/ 8 from 8-11 p.m.
In a pair of series-premiere news on NBC (which will both likely attract an older audience), miniseries “A.D.: The Bible Continues” was sampled at a dominant 6.1/10 in the household overnights from 9-10 p.m. Comparably, that built from the 8-9 p.m. edition of lead-in “Dateline” (#3: 3.2/ 5) by 91 percent. It was nine percent above competing “The Good Wife” on CBS, and grew by two-tenths of a rating point (or three percent) in the second half-hour (6.0/10 to 6.2/10). And, “A.D.: The Bible Continues” doubled what NBC has been averaging in the time period in the last six weeks since the “SNL 40” special on Feb. 15 (6.1 vs. 2.9 rating). All and all, this is a positive start. But the debut of lead-out drama “American Odyssey” took a tumble.
“American Odyssey” finished third in the 10 p.m. hour with 3.3/ 6 in the overnights, which was 47 percent below the 9:30 p.m. portion of lead-in “A.D.: The Bible Continues” (6.2/10). Comparably, this was only two-tenths of a rating point (or six percent) above short-lived drama “Crisis” on the year-ago evening (3.1/ 5 on 4/06/14). And it trailed the competition — theatrical “The Ten Commandments” on ABC (5.0/ 8) and failing “Battle Creek” on CBS (3.6/ 6) — by 34 percent and 8 percent, respectively. Since most new series drop 10 to 20 percent in week two, don’t get too used to “American Odyssey.”
Earlier in the evening on NBC was a 7-8 p.m. edition of “Dateline” at a distant third-place 2.6/ 5 from 7-8 p.m.
Fox capped off the holiday evening with encore telecasts of “The Simpsons” (1.0/ 2), “Bob’s Burgers” (1.0/ 2), another episode of “The Simpsons” (1.5/ 3), “Family Guy” (1.5/ 3) and two episodes of “The Last Man on Earth” (avg. 1.3/ 2) from 7-10 p.m.

Ouch Oddessey
ReplyDeleteDecent for AD but it looks like it couldn't beat it's cable premiere. Likely it will crash next week when it's not Easter.
AMERICAN ODYSSEY looks to be around 1.2-1.4 if the households was only 2 tenths above CRISIS last year. (1.0)
ReplyDeleteKO in first round Odyssey! Tough one.
ReplyDeleteAD might have done around a 3.0
ReplyDeleteAmerican Odyssey is DOA and AD will probably fall next week.
ReplyDeleteSeriously American Odyssey? The pilot was so good! I hate all the good shows being DOA. Is NBC going to renew a freshman series at all? Doesn't appear likely at this point.
ReplyDeleteNBC continues to have a huge problem getting shows sampled out of huge lead ins. The Night Shift, State Of Affairs, Marry Me, Allegiance, now American Odyssey.
ReplyDeleteIf it stays at a 1.2ish, American Odyssey might edge out a renewal, but it looks like NBC is going with 5 renewed dramas next fall.
As for A.D., it depends on how old it skews. But if it can't break a 3.0, then it is a huge disappointment and a huge concern since NBC wants to get into the Mark Burnett religious business.
What we've seen renewed is likely what is going to be renewed, with the exception of Undateable and possibly A.D.
ReplyDeleteBoooo! I wanted Odyssey to do better!
ReplyDeleteAD did well, though I expected the numbers to be higher
I cannot imagine why would NBC renew The Mysteries of Laura. It is doing worse than Grimm which is on the least viewed timeslot of the entire week. What would they do with it? It is literally fractional already.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this.
ReplyDeleteThat's just sad. ABC has a lot of work to do on this night.
ReplyDeleteThey definitely should do it in the winter at least during event season, instead of throwing the serial dramas under the bus.
ReplyDeletedoubt it, I am guessing 2.0-2.3.
ReplyDeleteABC destroyed the sunday lineup by airing new episodes on January
ReplyDeleteI thought this was somehow predictable. The concept seems too much out there for network TV and I couldn't imagine it being that much compatible with The Bible. Besides, it's NBC and it's Sunday, both of which are horrible factors.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised with the American Odyssey ratings
ReplyDeleteLooks like it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it probably was. Still I had hoped for better ratings.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I take it you won't be watching AO? Since you wrote that you would only check it out if the ratings were there.
They'll be left with no choice but to re-work AD into a series they can renew. Otherwise, the'll be 0 for 0 this season
ReplyDeleteNot surprised by A.D. and AO ratings, I downloaded them anyway because I try most pilots, dunno if I'll ever get to them though.
ReplyDeleteSo all of NBC's new series this year flopped...what a shame. And to think they're still the #1 network.
ReplyDeleteAD's creator is already working on a season 2.
ReplyDeleteI think a 2.5 for A.D. is still good.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Odyssey looks to be about where Allegiance was when it premiered. I'm not too surprised. Topically it was completely incompatible with A.D. NBC should have picked up church soap opera "Salvation" last year to pair with A.D.
That is not good for american odyssey. Looks like i will not be watching it :( i really do not want to watch sth where i know it will be cancelled
ReplyDeleteI hate it too. Totally agree. I guess I will wait until the Fall to watch sth new.
ReplyDeleteNBC will Crash next week with Game of thrones premiering. I am pretty sure A.D. And GOT share an audience. Also, not that is in any Kind of way a threat, but abc shows also return. Sad for american odyssey too :(
ReplyDeleteThe pilot was pretty good. I knew the show was DOA though.
ReplyDeleteDo you know what abc promoted last night?
ReplyDeleteSo sad :(
ReplyDeleteYeah i will probably be skipping it now with this apparent DOA debut. I cant even keep up with all my regular shows as is so i really dont feel like watching something that will be cancelled, i am affraid
ReplyDeleteThe same for me :/
ReplyDeleteNot surprised at all.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad though how TV works nowadays :(
ReplyDeleteThat's quite sad for Odyssey. The show is actually quite good.
ReplyDeleteI knew it was DOA. The pilot was pretty good.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I knew that the slot was tough but I was hoping that AD would get good ratings and that would help Odyssey. I guess not.
ReplyDeleteThe shows don't match. I knew it was going to be a disaster.
ReplyDeleteIt would have worked better as a cable show.
ReplyDeleteA.D. is gonna have to suffice as their "breakout" hit of the season.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same. Probably on Showtime or so
ReplyDeleteI watched both A.D. and American Odyssey and I'm not surprised Odyssey bombed.
ReplyDeleteIt was completely incompatible with A.D. I enjoyed both, but I couldn't see much audience overlap between the two.
Definitely.
ReplyDeleteI was think HBO or FX, but yeah it would have worked on Showtime paired with Homeland.
ReplyDeleteAmerican Odyssey deserves better.
ReplyDeleteI'll watch AO anyway like I'm still watching AC. I knew both were going to be good, but I knew both would be cancelled.
ReplyDeleteExactly my thought.
ReplyDeleteI still think AO would've been better after TBL. If AD 'only' pulled these numbers on Easter, I don't think it will be blockbuster NBC hoped. Again it doesn't fit NBC brand, CBS maybe. They would've been better off staying with History Channel. Burnett already has first six episodes of AD2 written because of production cycle so even if series bombs at NBC, it will continue elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteI Would rather watch sth where I know it will probably be Renewed because you can only watch a certain amount of shows and I'd rather choose those, that i CAN get addicted to without knowing that it will be cancelled
ReplyDeleteDoes NBC even have a brand right now?
ReplyDeleteIf A.D. stays above a 1.5 during the season that's great for NBC Sundays.
ReplyDeleteYeah, very true. American Crime definitely needed to be on a cable channel. American Odyssey could have worked on network TV, but it would have been very difficult.
ReplyDeleteLol. NBC has been really pathetic this year.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I completely understand. I just hope AO doesn't end in a cliffhanger.
ReplyDeleteTo me, it really depends. A couple of years ago I had that attitude and really blocked new shows unless they were certain to be renewed. I loved the pilots of Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue for instance but never continued watching because both were clearly going to be cancelled (which still saddens me to this day). In other years, I was much more tolerant and watched stuff that was going to be cancelled anyway (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Star-Crossed, among others). I think both have advantages and disadvantages. I don't regret the time I spent watching those cancelled shows as they were quite good, in my opinion. But it also depends on the time of the season in which they come out. I am more inclined to still watch if they will at least be around for a full season and they premiere fall or winter when I typically have openings on my TV schedule than if they premiere this late in the Spring in which I literally don't have time to watch even my regular shows. To sum up, I am quite inconsistent and don't really have a rule lol.
ReplyDelete(This is for drama, for comedies I tend to watch them anyway if I am interested)
For your sake, I hope so too!
ReplyDeleteI disagree. It was a post apocalyptic show but there have been hundreds of them both before and after the walking dead, I don't consider one to be inspired by the other. Besides, Revolution was ordered during The Walking Dead's Season 2 in which the ratings were not at the level they are today (they were already crazy good for cable but not in the stratosphere they are now of beating everything else, I believe)
ReplyDeleteModern Family, The Voice
ReplyDeleteWell at least you know now that Revenge can get a 1.0 next week ans still win the time slot lol
ReplyDeleteYeah i know what you mean. In addition, I also always take into consideration what i will be watching in thr next tv season. So far, only two shows coming in the fall interest me: Smash and mirror and Kingmakers. I am sure after i see the trailers which i am desperately looking forward to, I will be wanting to watch more pilots. Right now I watch 9 shows and for me that is enough because i am actually a pretty busy person. All my shows with exception of Revenge are all either renewed or certain to be renewed. I will see.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah right
ReplyDeleteYeah, but there are some brilliant shows that only lasted for one season. For example, I loved ABC's Off the Map and Pan Am, both of them were cancelled in their first season, but I would've regretted if I hadn't watched them. I still re-watch them a lot of times because they're so enteraining. Sometimes it's good to watch shows that only last(ed) one season, even if you have a tight schedule :) And if it's only one season, it won't cost you a lot of time.
ReplyDeleteToo bad, but very logical. I am losing a couple of shows as well. What are the show you are (potentially) losing this season (besides maybe Revenge)?
ReplyDeleteEvery year, network television declines on average 11%. It's been like this for a long time. Some years it is a bit less (-6%), some years it is a bit more (-12%). But since 2006, this has been happening pretty constantly. There are two reasons: 1) DVD proliferation, which means people are still watching the shows, just not live but instead when it suits them better, which makes a lot more sense and 2) The exponential increase of alternatives including streaming services and cable, both of which present not only repeats of network shows but also a huge number of original programming, thus leading to audience fragmentation.
ReplyDeleteThe total pie - as in number of people who watch shows - is probably still the same (in fact, overall TV viewership as been increasing!), but it is now split between broadcast live viewing, broadcast non live viewing and non broadcast viewing, with the later two parcels gaining more and more strength each year at the expense of the first one.
A.D. got a typical Scandal household rating (before the slump) but it's going to skew older.
ReplyDeleteLow 2s
Well that still makes me unhappy. That makes revenge still look bad
ReplyDeleteYes it is ashame. Maybe but only maybe i will Check it out nevertheless.
ReplyDeleteit looks like i will only be losing revenge which is thr biggest loss though since it is my favorite show. What will you be losing?
I thought about putting that on the list. I agree, if it can hold, it has a slight chance at a renewal.
ReplyDeleteScandal usually pulled a 7's this year before the slump.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the excited decline for this year? I read nine percent on spot but IDK
ReplyDeleteI don't think this season has the potential to be as big of a bloodbath as it was last year in which I was massacred (then again, I watched a huge number of freshman shows last year, so I had it coming). This year my bigger problems are, by far, Revenge and Marvel's Agent Carter. On a secondary level, I would like to see The Following, Fresh off the Boat, The Last Man on Earth, Stalker, Secrets and Lies and Cristela making it. There are some others but those are far down enough on my preference list not to be a big deal. Last year the cancellations of Revolution, The Tomorrow People, Suburgatory, The Crazy Ones, Enlisted, Star Crossed and Almost Human were really horrible on me, especially the first three. Oh and I've already lost Covert Affairs this year!
ReplyDeleteFor me Revenge will be one of the biggest losses ever. So sad :(
ReplyDeleteMe and him don't calculate it exactly in the same way so that leads to differences, particularly because he excludes repeats and I don't. This year for instance, a lot of networks (particularly CBS and ABC) made an effort to replace repeats with filler type of programming. Because that filler is lower rated than the show they are replacing but higher rated than repeats, Spots takes it as a decline in the average and I take it as an increase, which makes more sense to me. Because of that, my estimated decline is actually a bit lower, ranging from -7% to -9% (I have somehow of a glitch in the overall calculation due to the exclusion of sports from last year... big mess to explain lol, I will have to adjust it when I have the time).
ReplyDeleteThe only shows I will likely lose this season are freshmans. Stalker would be my biggest loss, and I would also love Secrets and Lies to be renewed. Besides these two, Battle Creek, State of Affairs, CSI: Cyber and American Odyssey are possible goners, though I am not too attached to them yet.
ReplyDeleteYeah I understand you. But to me the interest in new shows jumps up a lot when I see the trailers and start reading previews and all. It is very hard for me to tell just from the descriptions, even though there are some that are immediate draws to me, either due to the description or the casting (I will watch Game of Silence one way or the other because it stars David Lyons and I really like him from Revolution).
ReplyDeleteOh okay. I also hope secrets and lies is renewed. At least it will have closure though :) unlike revenge which will probably end on a cliffhanger
ReplyDeleteBut even if AO pulls low- to mid-1s still better than what TS did. Plus "Elementary" has not taken off during both 'breaks' of HTGAWM and AC is a bomb. The spot is open.
ReplyDeleteI think the degree of attachment makes a lot of difference. I have quite a few shows that will be cancelled but except for a few of them (as said in my post below) I am fine with it. Those you really like are the ones that really hurt.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but the historical brand of NBC primetime is definitely not religious historical fiction.
ReplyDeleteYeah i am definitely waiting for those trailers! I will have an evening where i will watch ALL trailers and pick which shows i will try. However, I find shows to be less spectacular, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteNBC should have stolen Vikings from History to pair with A.D.!
ReplyDelete(Only half serious suggestion)
Like I said, it's hard for me to know from the descriptions. I didn't think anything of the Revenge description for instance, I remember, although I marked as must watch as soon as I saw the trailer (and even though everyone said it would be cancelled soon at the time since it was an historically bad slot for ABC). And I really didn't think I would like Madam Secretary or Empire from the descriptions this year. Comedy is even worse, I think the descriptions are almost entirely useless.
ReplyDeleteIs that up or down from households from last week for TGW?
ReplyDeleteShowtime makes some very strange pairings actually. The Dexter-Homeland pairing was perfect, but since then it's been weird. I love both The Affair and Masters of Sex, but they seem to have so little to do with Homeland. I actually think both should be paired off. It's strange.
ReplyDeleteI also fear that if ratings do not rise, we might be losing the 100 after season 3 and OUAT perhaps after season 5. This just cannot happen! What is left then?! For me at least... scandal...Not my favorite though. We shall see.
ReplyDeleteLast year was pretty rough for you then. For me, Stalker will be the biggest loss this season, like TTP was last year. Besides that and Secrets & Lies, there are also a couple of shorter shows I haven't gotten too attached to (yet): Battle Creek, CSI: Cyber, State of Affairs and now American Odyssey.
ReplyDeleteThey should have picked up the church soap pilot "Salvation" last year.
ReplyDeleteOUAT is still doing very well, I wouldn't worry about that one, it's totally fine, unless it falls of a cliff or something. The 100 is another story. I am so thankful to the CW for the early renewal, I would hate to have to sweat it out until the upfronts. As for future seasons, we'll see. I think if they move it to summer like it seems likely, the show will be judged on different standards, so it is hard to tell.
ReplyDeleteBlame it on the writers.
ReplyDeleteTrue, I guess we just have to see. I am also still praying for revenge to get a short final season which is unlikely though
ReplyDeleteNBC's brand is "broad" shows, whatever that means.
ReplyDeletePlease don't Start again. Everyone else here is discussing normally. I know you like to make revenge look bad, but just stop, please
ReplyDeleteBroad as in, we can't get a scripted show to crack a 2.0?
ReplyDeleteThat was unnecessary.
ReplyDeleteI'm not trying to make Revenge look bad. I'm just saying that if Revenge ends on a cliffhanger, then, you should blame it on the writers.
ReplyDeleteWalking Dead was pretty hot when NBC picked up Revolution, and so was the Hunger Games. My assumption is that the network execs (Greenblatt) picked up Revolution to ride on the trendy wave of post-apocalyptic hits.
ReplyDeleteTop 25 Numbers are being added live into the spreadsheet. Please refresh to see updates.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for TGW number, i hope it holds on that 1.0
ReplyDeleteNo, you should not though. If ABC has not told them anything yet, how Are they supposed to write the finale? Imagine they had written a finale with closure and then last Minute says oh by the way, we are giving you a final season or the other way around.
ReplyDeleteEh maybe. I just feel that post apocalyptic stuff has been trendy pretty much for a long time before those two tings (TWD, THG). But maybe you are right.
ReplyDeleteHave them play the smart. Write a finale that gives the fans enough closure but put just enough for another season (since it would be a short season, they wouldn't need much to worry about)
ReplyDeleteCSI: NY did season finales that could've served as series finales for the last two years of the show or so.
I root for Revenge to either get closure in season 4 or a final season. It seems like a show I could binge-watch at some point and I've already placed it on my watchlist (although opinions on the show seem to be somewhat mixed), but I would only do so if it ends with closure.
ReplyDeleteYeah that is true and sorry for attacking you. I am just already sad enough that it will be cancelled.
ReplyDeleteA 2.2 in the top25 for AD is certainly bad.
ReplyDeleteSeems like even a fools-proof strategy of premiering a Bible-themed show on Easter/Passover fails over at NBC.
Normal numbers across the board for everything else.
THIS IS VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING FOR NBC!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Revenge for me is a great show. Season 4 has had its downs though too, season 2 as well, definitely. However, season 1 and 3 are excellent and as a whole the show is really good. It is the show that Made me look at this site and interested in television. It will be a big loss when it is gone :(
ReplyDeleteJeez NBC!
ReplyDeleteHopefully, ABC takes notice of this and passes over on Of Kings and Prophets pilot for next season.
ReplyDeleteI would ask how and why, but the answer is NoBody Cares.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite awful for Odyssey, a real pity.
ReplyDeleteDecent for AD but I expect it to fall around half a rating point or more next week.
Ouch NBC :( but the good wife rose right?
ReplyDeleteI agree. I don't think they will pick it up now. Although at some point one has to wonder if it is about the shows themselves or the fact that NBC cannot launch anything to save its life
ReplyDeleteBattle Creek's ratings are just a joke at this point. CBS should pull this show.
ReplyDeleteI think they committed to airing all 13 episodes.
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing I believe. Besides, they could still "air" them on Saturday if that was the problem. But I don't think any network is actually obliged to air shows as long as they pay for them.
ReplyDeleteGiven all the promtion and press tour NBC numbers are quite disappointing
ReplyDeleteThat's my understanding as well. A TBBT repeat would score more than a .6 surely.
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced there's a clock at 30 Rock that counts down to the premiere of Chicago Med. It's their best chance of a mega hit.
ReplyDeleteI am not aware of such a deal, but they could always burn it off on Saturdays.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me or has this season been particularly harsh when it comes ratings? I wonder what ABC's average for the night would have been if they aired originals. NBC has been so bad this season, lucky they had sports and The Voice.
ReplyDeleteYep. Although a TBBT repeat at 10 would be kinda strange. Dunno if CBS has done that before.
ReplyDeleteIt is. I have to wonder if The Commandments took a chunk of what should have been it's audience. The audience was split.
ReplyDeleteDisappointing and bad ratings all around. CBS line-up looks low again. MS in particular is looking bad, it's really a shame as the show has gotten so much better. And AO is just embarassing. Only ABC did decent with TTC.
ReplyDeleteYes and no. A church soap would be tough to handle. Because it being set in a church would deter a bit of people, and if the characters were a bad reputation of faith, it could turn off a lot more. That being said, it would be a ton more compatible. I mean NBC is launching a show with the title of an epic greek poem after a show based on Acts of the Apostles.
ReplyDeleteEven if TC didn't air and you added the difference of that audience, it probably wouldn't have elevated the numbers to what NBC was hoping/expecting.
ReplyDeleteThe fall has been pretty decent I believe. I mean, until the ABC Tuesday comedies nothing had premiered really DOA (save for RBS) But midseason has been pretty harsh, yeah.
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced that if NBC had been the one to premiere Empire, it would've struggled to pull a 1.5
ReplyDeleteNot to the same extent but I agree with the overall idea that simply being on NBC is becoming a negative at this point. People simply reject their shows.
ReplyDeleteIf they premiered it away from The Voice, it would for sure.
ReplyDeleteThey could and should. Or at least they should keep it out of May Sweeps.
ReplyDeleteGracepoint, Bad Judge, A to Z, Utopia, Mulaney were all DOA.
ReplyDeleteABC would have probably averaged between 1.3 and 1.4
ReplyDeleteWell, Empire premiered in January so it wouldn't catch DST.
ReplyDeleteIf NBC was to make a similar schedule, it would have premiered away from it.
But i do agree that Empire would've benefitted more from The Voice than Idol.
I would not let NBC buy my script if I was a writer.
ReplyDeleteThe Voice seems to be the only thing that people are willing to watch on NBC.
ReplyDeleteNBC is the Dateline network, ABC is the Shonda network and that would make CBS what? The TBBT network?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would be necessary to go that far. NCIS, Scorpion or Criminal Minds could probably do 0.9 or so in repeats in there.
ReplyDeleteNo. NBC's new shows failed because they were either bad or too niche.
ReplyDeleteNBC has a track record for overpaying. So if you go with a paycheck mentality, NBC is the place to get the biggest dollar play for ideas.
ReplyDeleteTrue, I forgot those. But overall, I feel like the fall has been pretty decent. I have no calculated averages though so I might be wrong.
ReplyDeleteProbably because NBC is the last place people want their shows to be on, hence they overpay.
ReplyDeleteA.D. the Bible Continues had EVERYTHING working for it to work.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't (certainly not to what NBC was expecting)
I seriously doubt Chicago Med will become a mega hit like that. I think that will be a success for them and be renewed but a mega hit? It seems too much. Chicago Fire and Chicago PD aren't even hits themselves, to expect Med to not only be one but to make the jump to mega hit seems too much to me.
ReplyDeleteWhat is niche about a FBI agent escorting a man with a list, a fire department show, a police show about sex crimes, or a police show about specialized crimes?
ReplyDeleteFive years ago, I'd agree with you. But now, they've broadened out.
I said new shows. None of those shows you were referring to are from this season.
ReplyDeleteYou also said A.D would premiere to a 4.0.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me if I will be a little incredulous.
I'm so glad that Revenge and OUAT didn't air last night cause otherwise the ratings would've been lower, especially for Revenge.
ReplyDeleteI think the pace of decline didn't change particularly from the fall to spring. It's just that when you get to the fall, you tend to compare the numbers with last spring, and most stuff is even-ish or eve a bit up (besides, networks tend to launch their best newbies there). When you get to spring, you compare with the fall (or even worse, with the winter) and then you feel that the numbers is up. But it is physiological. Now you think these numbers are horrible but when next fall shows are pulling these numbers you will be used to them and say they are doing well.
ReplyDeleteWhy is NBC rejected now? AD had everything in its favor and it did good, not great as I expected.
ReplyDeleteIf we're going with new shows, I still think they are broad. I'm not sure how you get broader than a show about Christianity on Easter, for example.
ReplyDeleteYes I am very glad ABC was wise.
ReplyDeleteABC is, mostly, doing everything that it should.
ReplyDeletePraise whoever had the proverbial head chopped off!
2.3 for AD
ReplyDeleteDecent but expect it to fall next week
LMoE (R) pulling the same numbers as Weird Loners
ReplyDeleteA 1.2 for American Odyssey.
ReplyDeleteThat is true. I am very nervous about their upfronts though since I am so happy with them this year that I am afraid they will revert back to their old ways (cough non family comedy or Chevy plugged into the Wednesday lineup).
ReplyDeleteMS: 1.1
ReplyDeleteTGW: 1.0
BC: 0.7
The Ten Commandments: 1.2/1.6/1.4/1.5
ReplyDeleteI dont think State of Affairs, Allegiance or American Odyssey were bad shows per say, but all 3 were likely picked up due to the Blacklist being their big hit last season and shows a fundamental lack of understanding by NBC why the Blacklist was successful.
ReplyDeleteCBS made a horrible mistake, they should have put Battle Creek behind the Mom as BC is a comedy procedural and move the horrible Elementary.
ReplyDeleteThe Ten Commandments did pretty good, is it a mini series too?
ReplyDeleteThat could very well be the case with some scripts. Without the paycheck motive, they'd literally be left with just Wolf's stuff as it's on a different path and material from new/established people looking for their first big break (like the team behind The Blacklist).
ReplyDeleteSilverlining: A.D's half-hours were flat.
ReplyDeleteSadly, AO dropped three tenths across half-hours.
It's a movie.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's an annual movie.
ReplyDeleteThis is horrible for NBC. A.D. looks passable now but I believe it is an illusion. Wait for Game of Thrones and post premiere decline to arrive and the show will decline fast. Maybe it still scores a renewal but this wasn't what NBC was looking for. Odyssey is DOA.
ReplyDeleteAlso horrible for Madam Secretary, even if it did grow a bit from 60 Minutes, which totally sunk.
ABC won the night against NBC's big premiere Sunday.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrible night
ReplyDeleteBarely.
ReplyDeleteWhy, oh, why did CBS move TAR to Fridays.
ReplyDeleteUnderwhelming for AD, but those numbers are stellar considering NBC's shape
ReplyDeleteAt like a 0.000000001% of the cost.
ReplyDeleteAlmost every night this week was terrible, except the Monday and to some extent Friday.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this comment entirely.
ReplyDeleteMadam Secretary 1.1 vs TAR 1.7 last year, damn CBS.
ReplyDeleteCould someone tell me, what they promoted during the ten commandments?
ReplyDeleteSo, what? ABC only pays the cost for airing the movie? And I assume given the age, it's not that big too.
ReplyDeleteExactly!
ReplyDeleteThat was my point exactly.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, the new head won't get the proverbial chopping off.
ReplyDeleteIndeed! Next week i hope all three shows rise since all three has excellent episodes last week
ReplyDeleteCBS deserves to have horrible Sundays, they made bad moves there.
ReplyDeleteAD did good for NBC horrible state, AO.... :(
I honestly fear for Game of Silence/Blindspot/Endgame next season, it looks like people just dont want to watch their shows...
ReplyDeleteI was just going to add that ;)
ReplyDeleteMoving The Ten Commandments back to Sunday was a good idea.
ReplyDeleteWhy it stopped airing there, is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteSilvio is going to spit fire for going Over on that Question.
ReplyDeleteSundays next season for CBS
ReplyDelete8pm The Amazing Race( CBS return it next season please)
9pm Madam Secretary
10pm Elementary
The Good Wife gets the Menatlist treatment on Wednesday 8pm in Survivors break.
The good wife under 8 million.... Ouch
ReplyDeletethis season is just not as good as the others
In my opinion
ReplyDeleteI have heard this season is one of the worst.
ReplyDeleteThe replay of Fox's line-up rates better in terms of 18-34 ratings than the line-up of CBS.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree
ReplyDeleteIs that good ratings for AD or lower than expected
ReplyDeleteSeries low for The Good Wife. So sad. I do think the series will get a final season renewal.
ReplyDeleteMuch lower than expected.
ReplyDeleteLower than expected, good for NBC standards
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, numerous people predicted a 4.0.
ReplyDeleteBut I don't mind if you feel that way. To predict, you have to take a firm stand with what you know and observe. I'll more than stand behind my overestimation and if it happens again, that's part of predicting.
I think it will but this season is just awful so i think therefore the ratings are low
ReplyDeleteThe Mentalist treatment is bound for The Good Wife.
