———-
Note: The following labels are based on the household overnights and are subject to change given the availability of other pending data streams. These overnights are your first look at the ratings and a precursor to what could lie ahead. And we take into account additional benchmarks including the expected Live + Same Day demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind that results for any sporting event are always approximate.
———-
-Winners:
“Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC), “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS), “Scandal” (ABC)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“The Vampire Diaries” (CW), “Backstrom” (Fox), “Reign” (CW), “American Crime” (ABC)
———-
Ratings Breakdown:
Tops for the night, as always, was “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS, which scored a 9.5/16 in the 8 p.m. half-hour. But a loss of 39 percent for freshman “The Odd Couple” at 8:30 p.m. (5.8/ 9) is certainly no guarantee there will be a second season. Next on the Eye net was officially relocated sophomore “Mom” at a second-place 5.6/ 9 in the 9 p.m. half-hour, which concludes for the season next week. And a repeat of “The Big Bang Theory” at 9:30 p.m. (#3: 5.0/ 8) led into a typical 4.9/ 9 for older-skewing “Elementary” at 10 p.m.
Third for the night was NBC, which featured a repeat of “The Blacklist” (#4: 2.3/ 4 at 8 p.m.), an original installment of “The Blacklist” (#3: 5.3/ 8 at 9 p.m.) and “Dateline” (#2: 3.9/ 7), which at 10 p.m. was NBC’s strongest metered-market rating in that hour since “Peter Pan Live!” on Dec. 4 (4.7/8). Assuming NBC leaves “The Blacklist” on Thursday next season, the goal will be to find a compatible drama at 10 p.m.
Elsewhere, Fox’s tired “Bones” (#3: 3.2/ 5) led into a series-low 2.0/ 3 in the overnights for recent entry “Backstrom” at 9 p.m., which is not expected back next season. And The CW has sprung a leak in the Thursday 8 p.m. hour care of once reliable “The Vampire Diaries” (#5: 1.1/ 2), which slipped by 27 percent from the 1.5/ 2 on the year-ago evening. Next was sophomore “Reign” (#5: 0.7/ 1), which is certainly not worthy of its third season renewal.

Huge for Greys
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty GA should be fine for the rest of the season...but next year might not do too well
ReplyDeleteWOW Grey's
ReplyDeleteI predict a 0,5 for VD! Think GA stole them the Demo, next week will be big for GA I assume VD will suffer again.
ReplyDelete0,3 for Reign, 0,4 would be amazing. But doubt it.
Wow. So Grey's beat Scandal last night? I wonder what the demo will translate to.
ReplyDeleteOf course the gimmick pulled by Grey's worked, and the fans feel upset but watched it like crazy, cut me some slack, you like that masochism of a show.
ReplyDeleteClassic Berman, says spoiler alert after the spoiler.
I stopped watching greys after season 10. So many fans were destroyed about ....... Death. But they was predictable in them winning the night
ReplyDeleteGood for Grey,it'll huge next week as well.
ReplyDeleteThis is my last season of Grey's Anatomy!
ReplyDeleteSad for TVD,i knew it would suffer inevitably against the competition!
I honestly think S12 should be the end
ReplyDeleteI just can't fathom stopping with Grey's until it's done. I've watched since the pilot originally aired 10 years ago.. Cristina was a way bigger character for me than Derek (and to be honest, so were George and Izzie). I'm actually kind of excited to see what they have planned for Meredith from here on out. I wish Amelia would disappear, though.
ReplyDeleteI do think short term and long term impact here may be different. This was bound to resonate on the short term but long term (aka next season) is a different story and I think they will loose more than they will gain.
ReplyDeletesorry for the grey's Fan abiut what happened last night...
ReplyDeleteI am still very disturbed.
ReplyDeleteGA exploded.
ReplyDeleteThe CW looks ugly, again. Tuesday's and Wednesday's are truly their only saving graces this spring.
ReplyDeleteScrew those Grey's numbers and Shonda Rhimes. This soap drivel is the exact reason I can't stand ABC.
I see your point but it will take time
ReplyDeleteI thought it was a great episode. The show needed to be shaken up. Derek would never have been my top pick to go, but Meredith will finally have a meaty story and some decent material to rock.
ReplyDeletePlease Bones still be at a 1.0 or above.
ReplyDeleteWell it stayed the same in HH as last week.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine. After everything that has happened this week on television. So many huge deaths on Grey's, OUAT and for me revenge was the biggest one. I have NOT watched scandal yet
ReplyDeleteIt should be fine the rest of the season but next season is the real question
ReplyDeleteGreat for Grey's Anatomy. But for most fans, it's the end of the show.
ReplyDeleteIf NBC had any pulse for what viewers are thinking at all, they would announce Chicago Med's pickup today. It's going to happen sometime in the next two or so weeks, but today gets all the disgruntled medical show fans wanting to jump ship to have another option in the future. It's the best chance at positive PR for Chicago Med.
I have yet to watch Scandal as well. The GA death was by far the biggest one f the entire season for me. It really shook the show, in my opinion. ABC is on a killing spree this week!!
ReplyDeleteStill crying that my McDreamy is gone....glad that Greys did well.....Ermmm TVD? Reign?
ReplyDeleteI agree entirely. For the rest of the season I would actually say that it should be more than fine. Next year is another story though.
ReplyDeletePlease remember, no spoilers in the comments for last nights episodes.
ReplyDeleteI actually like that idea.
ReplyDeleteI wouldnt be shock if they chose to end it
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately marc spoiled it before he said spoiler alert...
ReplyDeleteI take it back
ReplyDeleteIt should.
ReplyDeleteBut considering the show's ratings history, it'll be no Cory's death, although it's hard comparing an actor's death with a character.
IKR. I was most shocked about revenge though i have to say. But that is because I do not watch grey's
ReplyDeleteAfter what happened in Reign, how do you think the ratings will be?
ReplyDeleteWhile Grey's Anatomy resilience is probably one of the biggest history ratings wise of the last decade, I do think it had never suffered this much of a blow. Izzie and George were a big thing back then but the show still had much fire at the time (it had half of the age it has today) and even if it was big, I would argue it wasn't of this magnitude. I won't predict its doom or anything but I see it falling rather significantly next year especially because this season it feels like an over-achievement anyway.
ReplyDeleteI only started watching GA a few months back and S11 2 days ago, but i have to say i am not that disappointed as many other people here. I think that the show lost more characters that i liked much more than this. I will never forget end of season 8 when we lost 3 absolutely amazing characters :(
ReplyDeleteIt's different.. I would argue the characters are equally significant for both shows (maybe the one from Revenge is even more) but the difference is that Revenge is ending in 3 weeks so it feels very different to me. Here we are talking about the show moving forward in a completely different way than what it did for the past 11 years.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the episode yet, but I knew what was going to happen. And while I'm happy it did well, a small part of me isn't. That's wrong, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteFor shows like Reign it's tough to draw back in viewers. It will once flirt with 0,3-0,4s. The show certainly misses some good buzz. Doubt the ratings will raise till S03.
ReplyDeleteWoah Greys!
ReplyDeleteFans are really pissed
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be surprised to see a 30% decline year to year, regardless of who they select to replace him.
ReplyDeleteNot only is the lead gone, but the biggest draw to the show. History tends to show when that happens, ratings crash.
Especially if Meredith goes down a dark hole. Maybe not now that she is a mother but the show is named after her and by default people did tune in for Derek as her was her better half. Sad to see him gone. I probably will check in to see what it's like without Derek but there isn't any other character that makes me want to tune in.
ReplyDeleteThe quicker, and more likely, option is the instant gratification. NBC should announce the renewal of The Night Shift (with a catch up of all episodes on NBC.com for binge watchers) instead of waiting another week for the high profile Obama episode.
ReplyDeleteDo you think there will be an actual replacement? I don't think anyone could live up to that. They would need to wait at least a season for that I think. Even Burke was left for morning or an entire year before Owen was brought in and he didn't even die.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the spoiler, Mark.
ReplyDeleteSame here Joy. I'm done with GA. Not even watching out the season till summer.
ReplyDeleteThis one is very hard to avoid, it is practically all over the internet. I know it sucks if you still hadn't watched it though :/
ReplyDeleteDid PD leave or fired? I am surprised ABC would let him go
ReplyDeleteYes, I think that they will try to promote someone as the new male lead to try to keep viewers. But I don't know how you even begin to find the next McDreamy. It seems like an impossible search.
ReplyDeleteEven NBC News (Today Show) is covering it
ReplyDeleteThere is a warning. "Analysis contains spoiler for Grey's".
ReplyDeleteThere is an interview with him here on spoiler tv. My feeling when I read it is that he was fired. There is nothing saying that he wanted to leave and there is actually stuff saying when he was informed and all that.
ReplyDeleteHe shouldn't have said it in the title though (esp in a ratings article)
ReplyDeleteI think that will backfire even more. They should let Meredith mourn him, it is better. I don't think anyone will be accepted.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I agree
ReplyDeleteThe title of the article says, "Patrick Dempsey Bids Adieu"
ReplyDeleteI read it but than ABC said PD wanted to move on
ReplyDeleteYeah that is true! Sth i still cannot believe
ReplyDeleteI was spoiled a while ago but oh well.
ReplyDeleteIsn't the bigger goal to find a good lead in for The Blacklist at 8:00? Perhaps it can be rebooted or at least promoted a little more heavily and thus gain back viewers.
ReplyDeleteGA was weird last night. I loved and hated the episode at the same time, and no, it's not because of what happened. I actually didn't mind it, but I'll admit that the show won't be the same. Then again, that's what I thought last year when Cristina left, and I enjoyed this season much more.
ReplyDeleteI can't see the title.
ReplyDeleteGosh i hate it! When the season finales air i will have to stay off of the internet completely! all people are being killed off now though, Especially on abc and the cw!
ReplyDeleteWell, it says it hit series low. And it already did with 1.0 last week, so I think if they hit the same they would say the show "tied" its series low. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm worried, that unfortunately, it will be below 1.0. :((
ReplyDeleteFor GA I heard there some returning faves coming next week
ReplyDeleteYay! Do you know who? Or can you give me the link?
ReplyDeleteI don't know. I could never fathom watching a show just for one character. I'm more of an ensemble cast life long tv show watcher. Yes it's gonna be different but I really don't see how they could have dealt with the situation in the least painful and still have it be satisfying for the fans. One of those had to give coz I don't think fans would have been happy with him just being in limbo or even worse leaving his wife and kids and us fans knowing he's out there alive but not with Mer. For me that would have been so OOC and even more painful than what we got. I see this as the Mark and Lexie situation again. Yes it would have been cool to have Mark still be alive but then Lexie was his soul mate. Tough call but I'll watch until the bitter end. Also this season is actually turning out to be one of my favs.
ReplyDeleteIt was on twiiter i will try too look for it
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt ABC would make that call if the stars decide to extend their contracts. If Ellen signs on for another season (13) they're definitely gonna go ahead and continue with the show.
ReplyDeleteI'm not leaving cause Derek left, I leave cause after 11 years of pushing MerDer they couldn't write a proper ending for it, instead took the easy way out and chose to kill him. They decided to make Washington work. Make him recurring and than next year when Ellen most likely will also leave let them ride into the sunset.
ReplyDeleteI feel cheated on a couple I cheered so hard for so so long.
People don't watch Grey's because it's a medical show (at least I don't). It's about the characters. No one is just gonna jump to some other medical spin-off because a character died. Grey's has gone a lot more off the rails than this in terms of shocking character deaths. It's been 11 years...
ReplyDeleteI will say Ellen Pompeo did some amazing work last night
ReplyDeleteI think she'll be amazing next week
ReplyDeleteShe's done some amazing acting this season.
ReplyDeleteAll of his sisters, Addison and Cristina should be there.
ReplyDeleteShe needs to win a Emmy
ReplyDeleteT25 Numbers are just coming in.
ReplyDeleteRefresh for updates.
I think the series low comment referred to Backstrom (and just in HH, so who knows about the demos for either). He just called Bones "tired." So it's probably right around the same place, the 1.0. Could be up or down a tenth?
ReplyDeleteI'm not getting look at the numbers can someone tell me the numbers of :
ReplyDelete1 - Reign.
2 - TvD
3 - Mom
4 - TOC
Does anyone know what the highest Grey's ratings were this season?
ReplyDelete3.1 for season premiere.
ReplyDeletethanks so I'm guessing 3.2 then if it rose to a season high or does he mean just HH
ReplyDeleteI knew GA would hit a for last night's episode. I wonder if it will be get same ratings next week for the events taking place after or will the viewers be too bitter to watch next week.
ReplyDeleteFYI: You can see all ratings, for all shows, all seasons and episodes in the Ratings Database here
ReplyDeletehttp://stvplus.com/show/74/Greys-Anatomy#episodes
Why has Marc mentioned a huge Grey's Spoiler in his RATINGS analysis?.
ReplyDeleteNow I see, I misread it. I hope it's not below, as long as it stays at least on 1.0, I can live. So thank you for making me feel better at least. :)
ReplyDelete0.3-0.4 as always.
ReplyDeleteSo did CBS on This Morning Show.
ReplyDeleteNo offense, but since you started watching only a few months ago, what you felt last night cannot be the same as the fans who have been watching it for years.
ReplyDeleteTwitter babies are gonna be bitter but I think it will do just about the same as last night. I for one want to see the end to Derek's journey as well as the repercussions
ReplyDeleteI was hoping they would, Addison, Cristina, Derek's sisters (even the one we haven't met yet) and his mother have to be there!
ReplyDeleteAnd his mother.
ReplyDeleteHe always does that. People don;t read his analysis for hos thoughts about the episodes. *shakes head*
ReplyDeleteI think the viewers will follow till the end of the season and decide in the fall.
ReplyDeleteReally? Amazing!
ReplyDelete@omabin guesses based off top 25?
ReplyDeletejikes tvd! that 0.5 could be coming
ReplyDeleteTVD in losers category. CW should give it a short final season and put Legends of Tomorrow in its place come midseason.
ReplyDeletego greys anatomy
ReplyDeleteHave we ever met her? I'm drawing a blank.
ReplyDeleteGreat numbers for Grey's! Could even top MF.
ReplyDeleteHoping no drops for VD and Reign.
Yes in S05. She was a gorgeous pusher.
ReplyDeleteWe added that. Marc as usual didn't care about not putting spoilers in his analysis.
ReplyDeleteScandal should have beneffited from the insanely high Grey's
ReplyDelete3.1 on the 18-49 demo for its season premiere
ReplyDeletein all honesty who could focus after that eps. Even I didn;t watch it
ReplyDeleteYes, can't remember when, though. She was played by Tyne Daly.
ReplyDeleteImpressive for Grey's. Scandal okish. VD might be in the 0.5 category.
ReplyDeletePeople tuned into Grey's for a highly promoted episode were not interested in watching Scandal.
ReplyDeleteToo lazy to check what the HH was for that night, lol
ReplyDelete3.2 seems likely based on the top 25.
ReplyDeleteScandal also ended on a cliffhanger last week. Did it rise at all?
ReplyDeleteOMG grey's!!! well done! Abc sure knows how to promote an episode! They should do the Sams for other shows
ReplyDelete7.0/12 - The 3.1 though was adjusted down to a 3.0 after the Nielsen glitch was cleared.
ReplyDeleteUp 0.2 in HH
ReplyDeleteDon't know it rose, but the last time we had Top 25 for Scandal it was a 2.8 and that translated to a 2.4. So form the looks of it... it either is the same from last week (2.4) or it could have dropped to a 2.3 this week.
ReplyDeleteIt was never adjusted down. Scandal and HTGAWM were.
ReplyDeleteReally? Sorry, then, my bad.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the HH numbers, but I don't think GA was adjusted down because of the glitch.
ReplyDeleteReign 0,7HH 0,3 Top25
ReplyDeleteTvD 1,1HH 07 Top25
Mom 5,6HH 1,7Top25
TOC 5,8HH 1,8 Top25
Really wish that they would've done the same for Revenge.
ReplyDelete0,4 for Reign again please i'm beggin.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Revenge's death was huge as well and i wish people would return for the final episodes
ReplyDeleteIMO, The Vampirw Diaries is done. One character doesn't make a series but when one major character leaves for whatever reason and the ratings are already low, then might as well finish up and go home, I can think of a few shows that the characters died or left and were written out and they shows have never recovered. It's not about whether you like or dislike the character but so much revolves around that character that when they are gone there are so many things you need to re-tell or go in a different direction. I see another show is going through the same thing, GA and my guess is it will never recover.
ReplyDeleteLooks like TBBT might cross 4.0 for last night's episode.
ReplyDeleteI think grey's was more heart breaking whereas revenge was just shocking. I mean it is sad for some People because they will kiss the character. However, the death itself on revenge was nor sad
ReplyDeletekiss who?
ReplyDeleteBut it would not have been the same. I feel for you, but this is a decade old show we are talking about. I don't think that any Revenge death could top last night's Grey's death because the show is much older, with a once much bigger fandom (twice-trice as big as Revenge's ever was), and also the investments are much bigger because of the age of the show. Don't worry, I'm sure Revenge will also see a spike in ratings for the finale. :)
ReplyDeleteNot to put down Revenge AT ALL (I don't watch it), but even non-fans of Grey's or people who watched years ago know about Dempsey's character. Revenge has nowhere near the same media pull and affect on the general public; it's a lot easier to get people watching a Grey's event because the show is an institution.
ReplyDeleteYou can't compare Revenge to Grey's.
ReplyDeleteMoney talks Marc. If a network can make money from a show they will renew it regardless of if the show 'deserves' to be renewed or not.
ReplyDeleteReign's renewal isnt affecting the chances of another show on the net being renewed so I have to assume people keep whining about it because they need to whine about something.
I really hope Bones keeps its 1.1 Top 25 demo.
ReplyDeleteMiss, my bax
ReplyDeleteYeah that is true
ReplyDeleteGreys had event viewing last night. Those rarely, if ever, help lead out shows.
ReplyDeleteTVD isnt done until the cast and creators say it is. At this stage even a drop in ratings next season would likely still have it above half the shows on the network.
ReplyDeleteNo spreadsheet with me today, sorry
ReplyDeleteI sure hope people return. Abc announces the cancellations on May 8th so maybe more people will know that it is the series finale and will tune in
ReplyDelete0.3 more likely
ReplyDeleteFor real? I was really hoping so. Addie and christina not on the funneral would be character assassinatiom. But where did you hear it? It is the first time i am hearing of it
ReplyDeleteI did. I stopped watching years ago. It's no secret I dislike Shonda Rhimes and ABC but I used to love Grey's. I watched because I didn't think she'd have the audacity actually do it. It was one huge middle finger to Grey's fans who've stuck with this show through everything. Like it or not, fans become invested in these characters they create and she disrespected that investment, the actor, the fans and the co-stars.
ReplyDeleteIt’s that the best Grey’s has seen in like 3 seasons? Sad
ReplyDeleteepisode though. As for Scandal Thank Goodness it’s going up as we head on to
the finale. I just want it to hit a 3.0 again for the finale.
I cannot believe the season finales are Almost around the corner
ReplyDeleteThen they should do the same for all the shows that rate lower than it too?
ReplyDeleteCan't they unrenew Reign? Those numbers are awful.
ReplyDeleteUmm I haven't watched in ages but didn't the actor want to leave? If anything he would be the one disrespecting fans.
ReplyDeleteI've watched the show since the pilot aired, every season, never missed an episode.. still buy the DVDs. It didn't feel like a middle finger to me. It felt like another part of the story. The show must go on. People die.
ReplyDeleteI'm not comparing it, I just wish that they did a little more promotion for Revenges big episode. But nonetheless, I'm pretty aware since Greys is a decade old show it makes that death much more impactful.
ReplyDeleteYea I know. Gonna be a long summer.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I started watching in the second season so I may as well keep watching until the bitter end. I am sad, but I was much more upset about Cristina leaving. As long as Alex stays, I'm good!
ReplyDeleteNo.Czw Akways renews shows with two full season,no matter how awful the ratings.Example :BatB,which btw had lower ratings than Reign in s2.
ReplyDeletePeople die on shows, that is just how it is. Many shows have killed off nearly all their characters. On GOT they killed all my favorites at the red wedding and i mean all. i was pissed, however I continued qnd i am Glad i did. Revenge has killed off nearly all their Main characters. Now only 3, well 4 are left from season 1
ReplyDeletewhy should they? They've invested money in the show I assume they'll want to get money out of it and that probably means renewals regardless of ratings to get it to an episode tally they can do something with.
ReplyDeleteIKR bur finales are always awesome.
ReplyDeleteWell as I said that is my opinion. If course I understand it's up to the creates and the cast. But in my experience watching series on TV, which has been a few decades, once a certain point gets reached, there is no going back. Yes there are many low rates shows in tv hut some good nre ones as well. I've loved TVD but it has really centered around Elena and her connections to many cast members and stories and with that gone. I don't think the other stories and characrers are strong enough to hold it, at this stage of the game. But again my opinion and everyone perceives it differently
ReplyDeleteDoes it depend on the browser? I can see ratings for TVD in IE but not in Chrome.
ReplyDeleteYikes if it's getting 0.3s now it might even drop to 0.2s next season.Pull it from schedule then move it summer. They're wasting the ad rate for Thursdays wiith this crap.
ReplyDeleteIt already got 0.3 in fall so they knew what they were doing by renewing it.
ReplyDeleteBatB got 0.2 in 2nd season and still got S3 renewal + super early S4 renewal, so everytinh is possible
No wonder CW is not taken seriously by most Americans.
ReplyDeleteNot to be rude but I watch GoT, read some of the books. Those deaths were written beforehand, known about beforehand and handled just as they should have been. It was shocking to see but not surprising for fans of the show.
ReplyDeleteRevenge has fans, such as yourself, who were invested in some of its characters who've died but not nearly as many people who have been invested in Derek Shepherd for 11 years, whose death was mishandled and poorly executed. Nothing you say will change that fact.
While we are waiting for ratings ... are you as excited as i am that in around 2 weeks we will start getting pick-ups, promos, pictures, logos etc. for new shows? I can't wait
ReplyDeleteNo spoilers about the episode, please.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it doesn't feel like that to you. You're still a fan and should have it to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteIt felt that way to me and that won't change.
Too late for that!
ReplyDeleteIt'll likely air in the summer next season anyway. This season has like 3 episodes left at most so no point in pulling it. Also I assume CW know how to maximize their ad rate potential?
ReplyDeleteThey really should.
ReplyDeleteIt seems they don't.

I am really excited about the up fronts. Most looking forward to the screeners, especially Heroes Reborn, and promo for it, too.
ReplyDeleteI know, but still.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a personal shift between Shonda and PD. That depends on the interviews you feel has the most truth.
ReplyDeleteSorry...I saw the notification after.Edited my comment.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteOh okay. However, why did you say: not to be rude :D there was nth rude about what you just said
ReplyDeleteYea of course, we all have totally different reactions. As someone who has been watching this season, though, this wasn't a huge surprise. The VO from last night was the same as the S11 premiere - there has been a lot of foreshadowing this season and it felt like his departure was coming for a while (a few weeks ago especially with Meredith's "I can live without you, but I don't want to") and all the flashbacks, etc. Anyway, there hasn't been a whole lot for PD to do and they've been working to accommodate his racing schedule - he wouldn't be present for the last 3 episodes of this season anyway, due to that, so I think they thought it was best to finally just move the story along and focus on Meredith.
ReplyDeleteABC is so going to win the May Sweeps.
ReplyDeleteI assume they're setting up for the final season anyway now
ReplyDeleteYEs, i am so excited for early reviews from all of you here that have access to screenings. I hope we will get the long list of reviews with points as we got last year. It made me really excited for many pilots
ReplyDelete@DarkUFO: does the death that happened on Grey's count to the may sweeps 10 fatalities? Yes or? Since sweeps started yesterday
ReplyDeleteWell again, trying to say this in the right way, you take things a little seriously about Revenge. I don't intend to insult you.
ReplyDeleteTold you,Shonda will kill him off!
ReplyDeleteI hope so, i don't want so many more deaths anymore ... i lost so many characters i loved this season already
ReplyDeleteCan I play devil's advocate. Let's say Patrick Dempsey wanted out and wanted that door closed forever ie didn't want to even come back for the final episode of the show (not saying that's what happened). What would you have done if you were Shonda that would have been true to the character, set up season 12(coz it's coming even though pick ups haven't been announced) and also be highly satisfying for the fans that have invested 10 years to the show?
ReplyDeleteNot sure if TVLine actually knew about it or not. EW seems to be the only site that knew early with that interview they did with Patrick.
ReplyDeleteI hope they do
ReplyDeleteThose numbers don't look good for the blacklist. Should have stayed on Mondays
ReplyDeleteCBS did an awful job at scheduling, they handed them the win.
ReplyDelete44 episodes, 2 seasons under it belt averaging a 0.3 or 0.4 this season, compared to say T100 26? episodes after seasons and averaging a 0.5, JTV 22 episodes after 1 season and averaging a 0.5? Yeah Reign isnt actually doing that bad in comparison is it? Seriously though all 3 should have been cancelled but weren't.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have written him to be hit by a truck while he was sitting in the middle of the road, in a curve, searching for a cell phone. I would have had family, friends and most especially, his kids able to say goodbye. I wouldn't have had him survive a gunman and plane crash only to die because of inept doctors at a mediocre hospital with not one person who knew him by his side.

ReplyDeleteBut you would have him die none the less. It's a tough call but at the end of it all you'd never let Mer exist in a world separate from Derek. Where he'd be alive but off somewhere or in a coma hooked on machines. It's sad yes but I really don't see how his death was unavoidable maybe done better yes but definitely not unavoidable

ReplyDeleteOf course. If that was PD's wish, or whatever happened between him and Shonda. It was handled wrong, If he had to die, he should have died as he lived. With friends and family by his side. Fighting for him and with him.
