“The Big Bang Theory” (CBS), “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC), “Scandal” (ABC), “Mom” (CBS)
-Losers (excluding repeats):
“The Vampire Diaries” (CW), “Backstrom” (Fox), “Reign” (CW), “American Crime” (ABC)

Ratings Breakdown:
CBS remains the network to beat on Thursday thanks to “The Big Bang Theory,” which topped the night at a 9.5 rating/16 share in the household overnights in the 8 p.m. half-hour. Episode seven of lead-out “The Odd Couple” followed with a 5.9/10 at 8:30 p.m. (#2), with overnight retention of a typical 62 percent out of Sheldon and Leonard and company. While “The Odd Couple” is indeed the highest rated new comedy this season, if CBS does opt for a renewal and chooses to move it away from “The Big Bang Theory” expect considerable erosion (a la sophomore flop — and former time period occupant — “The Millers”).
“Mom,” which is no doubt being tested for the Thursday 9 p.m., half-hour next season, scored a 6.0/10 (#2). Comparably, that was 40 percent above failed year-ago occupant “The Crazy Ones” (4.3/ 7 on 4/17/14), and this should be enough to warrant the move.
Next on the Eye net was a repeat of “The Big Bang Theory” (#2: 5.4/ 9 at 9:30 p.m.), followed by older-skewing “Elementary” at a dominant 4.9/ 9 from 10-11 p.m. While dominance is good, CBS can do better here.
Over at ABC, veteran “Grey’s Anatomy” (#2: 6.0/10 at 8 p.m.) led into a perfectly compatible 6.1/10 (#1) for “Scandal” from 9-10 p.m., which is certainly fine (but below-average for “Scandal,” which has lost the watercooler buzz this season). Recent 10 p.m. entry “American Crime” remained a bust, however, at a last-place 3.4/ 6, which held only 57 percent of the 9:30 p.m. portion of “Scandal” (6.0/10).
Over at NBC, the network plugged up the 8 p.m. hour with an encore telecast of “Law & Order: SVU” at a fourth-place 2.6/ 4. Next was a repeat of “The Blacklist” (#4: 2.3/ 4 at 9 p.m.), which unlike the traditional crime solver does not play well in non-originals, followed by “Dateline” at a second-place 3.7/ 7 at 10 p.m. Comparably, this was NBC’s highest metered-market rating in the Thursday 10 p.m. time period since the Jan. 29 series finale of “Parenthood” (3.8/7).
Elsewhere, Fox could not compete with its drama pairing of “Bones” (#3: 3.3/ 5 at 8 p.m.), which is finally showing its age, and “Backstrom” (#3: 2.4/ 4 at 9 p.m.). And The CW’s fading “The Vampire Diaries” (#5: 1.1/ 2), which slipped by 21 percent in the overnights year to year, led into a mere 0.8/ 1 for sophomore “Reign” from 9-10 p.m. One year earlier, “Reign” scored a 1.2/ 2. Chances are The CW is thinking of something other than “The Vampire Diaries” to anchor Thursday next season.

Uhhh! Tough hit for CW. Presume VD 0,7-0,6 and Reign 0,4 more likely 0,3.
ReplyDeleteTVD looks horrible. A 1.1 in HH may be a 0.5
ReplyDeleteScandal doesn't seem to have recovered and TBBT has dropped...
Not looking good
Its up five tenths from last episode but not much of a rebound and barely beating Grey's.
ReplyDeleteIt was that low on HH two weeks ago? Wow
ReplyDeleteNot bad for Scandal.Up 0.5 in HH.
ReplyDeleteI didn't remember it scored that low last time, I'll edit my comment accordingly
ReplyDeleteThe ratings plunge for Scandal has set in. The show needs a total overall revamp redux...in other words, go back to what worked for the show.
ReplyDeleteYou have to remember that Scandal fell a lot.
ReplyDeleteOuch for the CW. I guess the announcement about Nina leaving didn't bring viewers back to watch her last episodes. As to Reign, that's really, really bad. Unless half their viewers are in 18-49, which they could be, the demos will be really ugly.
ReplyDeleteAnd with Nina gone in season 7, the show may as-well close shop next season for sure.
ReplyDeleteIs that the lowest HH ratings TVD has ever had?
ReplyDeleteIf anything, Nina leaving drove viewers away
ReplyDeleteI hope for a 2.1 for Mom, great and funny show!
ReplyDeleteSeems like it. I was afraid of that. Sad cause it was a strong episode.
ReplyDeletebad writing is what is driving the viewers away! Nina leaving is making the DE stans more insane ;)
ReplyDeleteyep, season 7 should be the last
ReplyDeleteWhat do u mean
ReplyDeleteGoing back to the case of the week
Looks like Scandal is up
ReplyDeleteYup 5.5
ReplyDeleteTerrible ratings coming.
ReplyDeleteTBBT down again?
ReplyDelete5.7 for GA, 5.6 for Scandal.
ReplyDeleteI thought it did a 6.0! Maybe I skipped the HH that day.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is certainly positive for Scandal, it finally broke its downward trend, but it still has work to do in order to be the beast it once was
Grey's should do at least 2.2. Terrific episode, however, next week's will be huge!
ReplyDeleteThanks! It seems Scandal fared MUCH better now. I wonder if it'll reach mid 2s
ReplyDeleteIt should likely go to high 2s for finale
ReplyDeleteIt song break records but it should do low 3s in the fall
Still the fall is so dramatic for Scandal lol.
ReplyDelete0.6 is more likely than the 0.5
ReplyDeleteIf so, then everything is fine, but these drops during the past weeks were really worriesome
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised. I just didn't know which reaction would kick in. Viewers might have wanted to see how they led off to writing her out, but instead it was the final straw. Frankly I left when they wrote out Katherine because she was the most interesting character to me, but Elena is very popular.
ReplyDeleteYep, it was quite the fall from grace
ReplyDeleteThey were but given everything was dropping it was ok
ReplyDeleteWhen Scandal was 6.4 in household that translated to a 2.3 in demo. Thats not good for Scandal lol
ReplyDeleteIf TVD's ratings drop to 0.5 should they move it to Fridays or keep it on Thursdays next season? If they move it, What show could they premiere there that will not get murdered by the competition?
ReplyDeleteThe CW looks even better on Tues/Wed after these ugly Mon/Thurs numbers.
ReplyDeleteI need my head examined but once again, I agree with Marc. TVD cannot be an anchor show next season. I don't even know what they could use since their two best are already Tues/Wed anchors.
before it was hit 5.6 in HH, it was a 6.4 and that only translated to a 2.3 in demo.
ReplyDeleteCould go either way.
ReplyDeleteIsn't blackish the highest-rated new comedy, rather than Odd Couple?
ReplyDeleteThe Odd Couple maybe in viewers.
ReplyDeleteHope so.
ReplyDeleteHere is the track record for Scandal :
ReplyDelete5.6= 2.1
6.4=2.3 8million
6.2=2.4 7.9 million
6.4=2.6 8 million
Does anybody else think that iZombie will be opening Thursday night for CW next year?
ReplyDeleteI have to check but given Odd Couple current trend, it's very likely to happen.
ReplyDeleteSadly ( especially after last nights amazing end reveal ) the Delena army is likely exacting their revenge by not watching so the ratings drop with hopes it gets cancelled.
ReplyDeleteGot a feeling iZombie will be put there to lead in VD. Worth a try.
ReplyDeleteSo, no trend at all except for viewership
ReplyDeleteI think it should be; if anything, I see TVD dropping further, while iZombie seems like it could keep steady numbers
ReplyDeleteNot yet.
ReplyDeleteBlack-ish: 2.36
The Odd Couple: 2.54
I don't think so but it's good enough, IMO. It's different from the ABC soaps so I don't know what part of that 18-49 they'd share.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't blame it on Delena fans, overall the viewers lost faith in the show. I honestly don't know why leave when U survived terrible season 5. Season 6 is on par with S03 maybe even better.
ReplyDeleteright.
ReplyDeleteEither that or a new drama (Cordon or Cheeleader Death Squad), with TVD at 9.
ReplyDeleteIts not that really, a single fandom usually dosen´t control the ratings, like its absurd to say that klaroline would raise the TO ratings through the roof. What matters are the general audience and those folks have dropped TVD last spring and never returned and it looks like the same will happen this spring. And i´m not surprised at all by it.
ReplyDeleteCheers for that, I imagine that will change by season's end, Odd Couple has plunged while blackish looks steady.
ReplyDeleteIt is worth a try. I think it could do well but I don't know that they'll do it.
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to think TVD should have a 13 episode final season, and let something take over its timeslot on Thursdays
ReplyDeleteNo problem! And yeah, I think this is purely a function of the number of episodes aired
ReplyDeleteNope. I think the CW should try new drama there.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what i think. Other than those 3 + maybe The Originals i can't see anything else there
ReplyDeleteIf they pushed GG along after those terrible finale ratings I think VD will get a full season to end with. Most likely they will see how things go till midseason and than decide if the show will end or they can maybe push forward.
ReplyDeleteThe W18-34 it has are still profitable enough for more than that. The problem is that I see those changing after Nina leaves.
ReplyDeleteYeah it's the W18-34.
ReplyDeleteI'm willing to do it, doesn't matter if it is to 8 or 9.
ReplyDeleteThe IZombie-Supernatural combo is doing better than the Supernatural-The 100 combo on Tuesday-Wednesday at 9. However, CW needs to launch something out of Flash and TVD is fading.
Hasnt that demo fallen hard also?
ReplyDeleteI think Grey's might be the bane of Shonda's existence. She probably wants it to die so bad but it just won't. It keeps trucking on. Now she's back writing for it after 3 seasons of being away and I think she's gonna take her Scandal frustrations out on Grey's and I can't wait. I'm kinda ready for the next death to be honest it's been two seasons. We're all ready.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Where are you guys seeing the ratings that your commenting on when nothing is in the graph/chart yet ?
ReplyDeleteHonestly I think it depends on what the iZombie writers intend to do aka what the overall agreement is.
ReplyDeleteWill iZombie get a shortened 2nd season or a full season. If it's a full season it will work for the network to be a lead in as it already gathered a solid fanbase. If it's midseason I could see it get a 9pm slot again and an other show like Cheerleaders or Cordon as a lead in.

ReplyDeleteEarly Ratings Analysis by Marc Berman (TVMediaInsights)
It has, yes, but it was so high that it could afford to fall and still be passable. I am not saying it is good or anything but it isn't a disaster like in 18-49. It's like Jane and Originals, which did 0.4 this week in 18-49 but 0.7 and 0.6 respectively in W18-34 and are thus more profitable than it meets the eye.
ReplyDeleteReign looks like a 0.4/0.4
ReplyDeleteYep, by the end of season 5 they were at 0,4s and still got a shortened season. So I think they will push the VD brand to a full year. Except if the drop is really hard.
ReplyDeleteDerek's not gonna die. I think there won't be deaths this season.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they'll give an episode order when they announce the renewal. No way it doesn't get renewed. I hope the CW has a bigger picture because right now, it looks like they've done too much. Too many pilots, too many renewals.
ReplyDeleteOh that i agree. But i do think that after this season TVD will finally lose the top position in ad revenue on the CW. It still propelled them to top position for the 6th season. But the falling ratings and Nina leaving it might get ugly.
ReplyDeleteOh 100000% it won't have the top selling position this year, I am sure Arrow and Flash will both beat it to that. But I think it will still do passable numbers, better than Originals, Virgin, 100, Reign and maybe a tad better than Supernatural and iZombie or in line with those. Next year however, I fully agree with you that it will collapse with Nina leaving + the continued erosion. I think it will be like when they renewed the oc for a 4th season after Marrisa's death with the ratings already fallen and the 4th season completely collapsed.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteAll the clues seem to be pointing toward that. Dempsey is done filming for the season at least according to an interview he did with a racing magazine two days back. The ferry scenes were his last ones.
ReplyDeleteThere's no reason for CW to cut TWD order, despite the decline. With the huge Netlfix streaming deal, the more episodes produced, the better. If a show like SPN, which has lower ratings continues to get full seasons, why would they reduce TWD? (And, I'm not a stan - caught a few on Netflix.)
ReplyDeleteScandal may have peaked with the dreadful kidnapping storyline. ABC/Shondaland has to be concerned because they have only produced 65 episodes so far. For a show that 'young,' it sure seems old. Obviously, some type of major reboot/refocus will be heading our way.
While I do agree it's worth a try, I rather like it airing where it is now, and kinda don't want it to move, but I'm sure it will.
ReplyDeleteI think we are to optimistic with what they are going to pick up. Its probably the A/F spinoff for midseason + 2 more shows max maybe both for fall, maybe 1 and 1.
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to wait and see what they'll move to midseason and what to summer.
I feel sad about TVD cause it is (and always will be) one of my favorite shows ever. (Guilty pleasure or not, who cares?) But I do think they should end it with season 6. It's enough, in my opinion. The CW really needs to learn that TV shows are not 'forever'. (I'm looking at you, Supernatural).
ReplyDeleteThe Walking Dead isn't a CW show.
ReplyDeleteI think the perception of old age comes from two things:
ReplyDelete- despite the episode order of a traditional third season show, it has been around for 4 years
- the split seasons format means they've actually had 7 arcs so far (S1, S2A, S2B, S3A, S3B, S4A, S4B). Some shows do one arc per season, so shows with 65 episodes in third seasons would have done 3 arcs instead of 7. So that increases our perception of age.
I am sure he means TVD
ReplyDeleteI'm sure OP meant TVD
ReplyDeleteHave you seen the promo? It doesn't seem like something will happen to him. I mean, why would they kill him off 3 episodes before the finale? Doesn't make sense. Also, the ferry scenes indicate to me that he's fine. One could argue that they're just flashback scenes, but this season there is an abundance of flashbacks, so why would they make new ones?
ReplyDeleteTrue. I'd say that one is a definite and really, I think MP has a big summer plan too.
ReplyDeleteI don't think iZombie will stay at just 13, but I don't know if I want it to be more than like 18. Rob Thomas stated that as the season goes on the Zombie stuff takes away about 20% from the procedural.. i think that giving it a 22 ep order means stretching out the season and giving back that percentage of story to the procedural element, which to me isn't exactly my favorite idea.
ReplyDeleteHe could be fine. But the ferry scenes would also be like a comma type thing like Mer after the drowning. We know how much Derek loves his ferries
ReplyDeleteI have no clue what CW plans to do schedule wise cause it will be a mess most likely. I think they'll try to exploit iZombie's solid ratings like they tried this season after moving TO to Mondays. It worked during fall, now not really.
ReplyDeleteAgree. I like shows with an average of 13-18 episodes. If the writers are really good, and I love Rob Thomas, it keeps the shows tight with little to no filler.
ReplyDeleteYep 22 eps for a procedural on CW is a lot! 16-18 is most likely and that is the only reason I doubt this show will get the 8pm slot. But again it all depends on their overall plan.
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to wait for the up fronts to see what they are planning to do.
The coma thing seems interesting, it could also lead to a cliffhanger for the finale.
ReplyDeleteWe'll see. :) I just don't think anything will happen, because we would've heard about such a big event, even if Shonda wanted it to be secret. I mean, we knew in advance about the shooting, the plane crash, even Mark's fate was revealed beforehand. There were no spoilers or even references or hints towards a death or coma or injury etc. I think it will be a memorable episode with a lot of action and suspense.
Which just feels so far away!!!!
ReplyDeleteI will say that iZombie is working better with the procedural than another cw show, BATB, did which had to basically retool to find it's groove.
We'll have to wait and see. I hope it rebounds a bit cause it was a better episode, even though Mary still got that fever that makes her stupid.
ReplyDeleteMom beating TOC, even in HH, is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI think with the magnitude of who the character is that would be exiting the series, it's better left as top secret like they did with that guy on the good wife
ReplyDeleteMom has been on fire, it deserves every solid rating it gets. I have yet to watch last night's but last week's episode with the relapse was absolutely outstanding.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine that the finals and upfronts are just weeks away. WAY TO SOON. But still feels far away.
ReplyDeleteTill now I really enjoyed iZombie, but I'm just worried with the number of Zombies raising to fast to much. Apart from that great show.
I hope that nothing will happen... I mean killing off Mer or Der would be suicide to the show. I was actually wondering if Dempsey would agree to continue as a guest star if he no longer wants to be a series regular, so that they could maintain the MerDer relationship.
ReplyDeleteScandal needs to re-invent itself. Mellie/Jake/B613 line do NOT have appeal, why can't the writers' and the show runner (and ABC) see that?? It's like an elephant in the room, an everyone pretends to ignore it.
ReplyDeleteGoing back to case per week is not going to work either. Show needs to move forward. Hire someone new for OPA, someone who will appeal to the fans and add to the dynamics of the cast. Have a Grant divorce and bring in more political storylines (wasn't this supposed to be a political drama?).
I don't know if ABC and Shonda are doing the exercise of "how far we can sink our ratings", but they seem to be succeeding there
Thank you for posting this, @Devil.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought as well but the fact that it's Shonda that's writing the next episode begs the question as to why now? When Cristina exited, she wrote just her scenes not the whole episode but with this one she's writing the entire thing.
ReplyDeleteScandal was hitting highs last season with those storyline elements so even if I were to agree with you in terms of them not being appealing, it is still head scratching why people decided that all of the sudden after apparently really liking it for a very long time.
ReplyDeleteMom has become must see for me at this point. After watching The Big Bang Theory, I just find myself waiting for The Odd Couple goes off so I can enjoy Mom. CBS will have to put a quality program in the 8:30pm timeslot this Fall to make the night even stronger.
ReplyDeleteMy top CBS shows in order of quality at this moment
1. Mom
2. The Big Bang Theory
3. Mike & Molly
4. 2 Broke Girls
5. The Odd Couple
I see no lies in your post! Scandal is pointless now. Now movement in storylines. We were at this same exact place last year with them trying to take down B613. The need to take a page out of Frozen and LET IT GO!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL. Trying to do it on my phone and it kept switching it back. Silly autocorrect.
ReplyDeleteThe only CBS comedies I watch nowadays are Mom and TBBT but I grew a bit tired of TBBT this year to be honest. I have like 6 or 7 episodes saved up for a binge watch. I will get to it eventually for sure and it is still damn good but it is feeling a bit stale to me, dunno why.
ReplyDeleteAnd it will continue to drive viewers away. It's never a good idea for any show to replace the lead or one of their bigger draws. No matter who they cast, it always results in ratings declines.
ReplyDeleteCastle is facing the same problem now. If for any reason they can't get Beckett back to the show, they should end it. No one would watch it without her.
I do think it will be gone after this season
ReplyDeleteThank you, .@Jessikah. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. The exception would be procedurals I think (CSI, NCIS, etc). Castle doesn't qualify because although it is a procedural it is too much focused on the relationship between the leads to work out sans them.
ReplyDeleteMom has seen a huge improvement this season. It's more about Christy and Bonnie for once and more scenes of Marjorie too. Now, if Regina (Octivia Spencer) can come to Mom for good, I will be even happier.
ReplyDeleteI actually liked Scandal before it became OMGTV! I was so afraid of it getting canceled in season one so I actually don't mind where it is right now, because for once it feels like the characters are actually developing or growing instead of overcoming this week's OMG moment.
ReplyDeleteAs a Writer, I'd much rather write a story that feels true to me and the characters I've created than one I felt the audience wanted. Maybe that is what Shonda and Co. are doing. Telling the story they want to tell because they thought the audience at this point would be a bit more loyal and not run away because it;s not so over the top and a bit more quiet.
Sorry to hear you don't like it now though. Maybe they will change things next year after seeing the deficit in ratings now,
I think that's a very good point. I can see why Shonda has said seven seasons. It won't have the longevity of GA, but the universe was stacked against it with starting the show mid- first term rather than earlier in administration. Yes, Mellie being in WH can extend a little further, but it clearly won't be same "First Man/Olivia" v "President/Olivia." They might consider slowing things down on the timeline.
ReplyDeleteThe entire show needs to be gone after this Season. Scandal has run it course.
ReplyDeleteI think Ana Faris is underrated. For her to be able to hold her own against someone of the caliber of Alison Janney is very commendable. I think she should be in the conversation when it comes to best actress in a comedy.
ReplyDeleteWell, she wrote the musical episode, too, and Callie survived that, so there is hope. I don't know her reason, though.
ReplyDeleteYes, procedurals like NCIS and CSI are the exception, but even slightly more serial procedurals like Chicago PD, The Blacklist, or Chicago Fire would suffer greatly if any of their main draws left.
ReplyDeleteChicago Fire this year tempted fate with killing off a lower tier character, but draw, in Shay and there were weeks where ratings could have easily fallen off a cliff.
Do you all think we're going to get Top 25 today?
ReplyDeleteI stil think it has more juice in it
ReplyDeleteIt needs another conspiracy/defiance
I don't see any story and character development, we are running in circles. Someone gets stabbed in OPA and doesn't die afterwards, we have seen this already?..
ReplyDeleteAnd telling the story they want to tell is all good, but it has to appeal to the audience, otherwise you get cancelled.
I completely agree, a bad S5 and an even more atrocious S6 is driving viewers away in droves. It went from a genre show to a soap opera full of OOCness and shotty plots.
ReplyDeleteI agree. You have to play the game or you get canceled, but even at these levels, Scandal has a way to go before it sees the door, and maybe that's why they are choosing to tell these stories now, because they had room to fall.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping Mom could grow even more next year. CBS needs a strong anchor in the 9pm timeslot. It should be capable of building off whatever show CBS places behind The Big Bang Theory.
ReplyDeleteYep. Papa Pope was stabbed in office last season right before the finale
ReplyDeleteTrue but there were no behind the scenes stuff happening then. I think Dempsey wants to focus fully on the racing. Anyway just 6 more days. I should probably get back to work now and stop speculating about Grey's.
ReplyDeleteLast season was highly critiqued and SR dismissed any criticism saying "KW was pregnant, so we had to write like this". Which is utter bullshit, because K being pregnant should not make the writers write crap.
ReplyDeleteI suspect Judy Smith stopped being involved after S2, and you can definitely see a drop in the quality. This spy shit is not working either, it is meaningless and pointless, but that's all SR can produce, apparently.
If not for stellar cast and they amazing interactions with fans, this show would have been completely dead by now
Unfortunately, it looks like we're not getting them today.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that she is underrated. Last week's episode was probably her best performance yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Chicago Fire has had its best ratings this season. Shay dying didn't do a thing.
ReplyDeleteOn March/april we have Time Zone and all shows at 8pm adjusted down a litlle and this week coachella music festival... All shows adjusted down LIVE. When it comes to ratings +7days they all adjusted up...
ReplyDeleteI think they made a mistake last year when they forced the re-election storyline to happen. That was a storyline worth of a season and they made it a season-end arc mixed up with B613 and all, thus burning a lot of potential episodes worthy of storyline there. Just my opinion.
ReplyDeleteIf they aren't posted by 10:00 Central we're probably not getting them today.
ReplyDeleteMom makes me laugh out loud, even when they are tackling series issues. There hasn't been other comedies capable of doing that. The writing is brilliant that it makes you fall in love with characters. I even like Jamie Pressley in her role. Everyone fits together perfectly and plays off each other so well.
ReplyDelete1. Big Bang Theory
ReplyDelete2. Mike & Molly
3. Mom
4. The Odd Couple
73. 2 Broke Girls
You go, Mom.
ReplyDeleteAre you talking about last week's Chicago Med episode? While Chicago Fire benefited, it had proven draw Severide in peril and a lot of interesting Med characters with actors viewers probably recognized elsewhere. So it had a lot going for it to produce its great ratings. Surely, NBC is pleased with how Med performed.
ReplyDeleteBut why would you try to fall? Empire's success must rub them off in some way, you want to improve and gain audience, not lose it?..
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome :-)
ReplyDeleteChicago FIre ratings:
ReplyDelete3x01: 2.6
3x02: 2.3
3x03: 2.1
3x04: 1.9
3x05: 1.9
3x06: 1.7
Six weeks and it lost 0.9. It's a huge drop. So don't tell that Shay dying didn't do a thing. The only thing that saved Chicago Fire is the Voice as a lead in.
So what will be the excuse this week as to why Scandal ratings are still low? Nothing was on tv last night, Easter and Spring Break are both over, and there were no games on last night. and pls no one say DST LOL
ReplyDeleteIt happened when Katherine died that viewers left, and show went below 2 million first time ever. It happened exactly after she died I believe lol
ReplyDeleteI don't want to argue one way or the other especially since I don't even watch the show so I don't know the impact it would have had but what you present is of evidence of anything. During those 6 episodes, it also lost the voice as a lead-in and it had a post premiere drop, both of which would always be substantially more significant than the lost of any character. Therefore, those 0.9 would never correspond to the impact of that loss.
ReplyDeleteI think Mike & Molly is overlook a lot. It may not have the best writing but it has a great cast and their chemistry is perfect. They are able to sell the material given. It is just entertaining to watch.
ReplyDeleteI decide to rank ABC for you too because it is a little more challenging.
1. The Goldbergs
2. The Middle
3. Fresh Off The Boat
4. Last Man Standing
5. Black-ish
6. Modern Family
7. Cristela
While DST is obviously not enough to justify the huge decline in the ratings of Scandal, it is completely ridiculous to presume that it not playing a part in it.
ReplyDeleteIt's only playing a small part.
ReplyDeleteBones :( *sigh*
ReplyDeleteIt's never played a part before and Mom is growing just fine... PLUS it's dark at 9:00. People are home. The Blacklist has been steady and actually rose during DST. I don't buy DST for a 9pm show after almost a month after time has changed
ReplyDeleteNot exactly. . She died in 5x15. Tvd went below 2 milion viewers in 5x17.
ReplyDeleteWhen do the CW have there Fall Schedule for next year come out?
ReplyDeleteAt the upfronts on May 14th
ReplyDeleteOh ok thanks:)
ReplyDeleteTVD went down after 5x16.
ReplyDeleteUr welcome. ^_^
ReplyDeleteFor me:
ReplyDelete1. Modern Family
.... (Big gap)
2. Fresh Off the Boat
3. Cristela
Don't watch the others.
I just hope Bones stayed above 1.0.
ReplyDeleteIn 27 days on May 14th at the CW Upfront.
ReplyDelete1) The Middle
ReplyDelete2) Fresh Off The Boat
3) Cristela
4) The Goldbergs
5) Modern Family, only because it used to be good
6 Blackish
Never seen LMS
She was smart before ? ;)
ReplyDeletetvd 0.6
ReplyDeletereign 0.4
Scandal 2.4 Greys 2.1
ReplyDeletebones 1.0
ReplyDeletebackstorm 0.7
Mom is doing awesome!
ReplyDeleteWinners: Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, The Big Bang Theory, Mom
ReplyDeleteLosers: American Crime, Bones, Backstorm, The Vampire Diaries, Reign
2.4 ?
ReplyDeleteGlad to see Grey's Anatomy and Scandal doing nice. Hopefully both inch up even further as we approach the finale! And wow, Mom doing amazing! That's more like it for TBBT! I hate to see Bones this low though
ReplyDeleteThe CW preliminary bled throughout the entire evening! Halves: 0.6 | 0.5 | 0.4 | 0.3. Ouch|
ReplyDeleteI expect both to increase next week as well. GA has a big eps, Scandal had a big ending
ReplyDeleteHalf hours tvd 0.6/0.5!!
ReplyDeleteTBBT is slowly rebouncing.
ReplyDeleteScandal needs to go up a few tenths, but this is already a positive sign
I don't know how big is was being as though Promo pics were released before the show showing that Jake was still alive. lol
ReplyDeleteIf it gets back to high 2s ABC will be happy
ReplyDeleteDid not expect Reign to go up to 0.4. But HH are 0.4/0.3 and TVD 0.6/0.5 so they might go down in finals
ReplyDeleteYes, i know you will write that they do not depend on half hours, but they are usually good indicators when it comes to CW
It's below what Grey's did last year in the timeslot but any increase is a positive I guess.
ReplyDeleteShould not be any excuses here, just some poor writing
ReplyDeleteThis hurts. This really hurts! Shaking my head in disbelieve.
ReplyDeleteWait, what photos?
ReplyDeleteFor us yes! Lol
ReplyDeleteBut millions of otjerd don't look at spoilers

ReplyDeleteYes, I know think Scandal isn't underachieving by that much anymore, although still underachieving by 0.3 or so. TBBT is recovering nicely and it should adjust up per usual.
ReplyDeleteThey will have another season for sure and end it there (contracts run out then?).
ReplyDeleteI am getting quite afraid for it. These are dreadful numbers and the show certainly isn't cheap.
ReplyDeleteThose numbers aren't that bad except for TVD. I think the whole Vampire phenom fadedvaway with the end of the Twilight books and movies.
ReplyDeleteNoooooo
ReplyDeleteDidn't MOM air at 9:00? Updated table shows 9:30? If at 9, I imagine that CBS will just leave it there for rest of season. It is more than holding on its own.
ReplyDeleteHopefully GA adjusts up
ReplyDeleteI think they moved it up again although nothing had been announced before.
ReplyDeleteGood for Reign stayed at 0.4 despite VD falling to 0.6 again.Though though whole night bled at every half hour so that's not good.Hope no downward adjustments.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too but a 2.1 in the 8pm hour after DST is just huge anyway we look at it, so I can live with this ;)
ReplyDeleteWere they really stupid enough I release these pictures instead of letting people actually guess for a week? Talk about the waste of a cliffhanger...
ReplyDeleteScandal and BBT look much healthier this week. Both up three tenths for their lows a couple of weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteGrey's and Mom also look really strong right now, good for them.
FOX needs a major revamp, I think it's time to let Bones go once and for all. The rate it's going it will be fractional before the season ends.
I love Bones but rationally, I cant argue with that, sadly.
ReplyDeleteTVD doesn't have a bigger 25-54 audience like other CW shows have and now that their younger demo is pulling out nothing is holding them back from dropping 18-49 ratings. time's changing on the CW side.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought. It was supposed to be one-time experiment. It makes sense to have the three originals air consecutively.
ReplyDeleteTable is Updating.
ReplyDeleteYep. the pictures came out yesterday morning.
ReplyDeleteVery good for Mom! :D
ReplyDeleteI think Bones may have a chance if FOX moves it to Fridays, and even then the chances for a good rebound are not that high
ReplyDeleteYes yes yes Scandal and Greys are up this week. 👏👏 I hope the momentum continues till their finales. Scandal had an fantastic episode last night. Love Papa Pope.
