The overnights are your first look at what to potentially expect when the other results come in. And we always take into account other benchmarks including the expected demographic ratings, potential DVR usage, the critical acclaim (or lack of) and the social media presence. Keep in mind, as always, that results for any live sporting event are always approximate.

Ratings Breakdown:
It was another Monday overnight household victory for ABC, which bested No. 2 NBC by an average of 34 percent. But that will not be enough to win the evening in the key young adult demographics, which will fall in NBC’s corner because of “The Voice.” “The Voice” finished second in the 8-10 p.m. block in the overnights with a 7.1 rating/11 share in households, which trailed “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC (#1: 9.8/15) by 28 percent. Both shows remain firmly established on the evening.
CBS, meanwhile, was below-average opposite the two reality/competitions with its 8-10 p.m. line-up of sitcoms “2 Broke Girls” (#3: 4.7/ 8) and “Mike & Molly” (#3: 4.9/ 8) and freshman drama “Scorpion” (#3: 6.0/ 9). But “NCIS: Los Angeles” on the Eye net dominated at 10 p.m. with a 5.9/10, which beat a repeat of “Castle” on ABC (#2: 4.0/ 7) and an original installment of sophomore “The Night Shift” on NBC (#3: 3.7/ 6) by 47 percent and 59 percent, respectively. Despite dipping by 48 percent from the 9:30 p.m. portion of “The Voice” (7.1/11), “The Night Shift” still managed to score its highest rating in five weeks.
Elsewhere, both “Gotham” (#3: 3.3/ 5) and “The Following” (#4: 2.4/ 4) on Fox were victims of the decreasing HUT levels, with “Gotham” slipping by 15 percent from “Bones” on the year-ago evening (3.9/ 6 on 4/14/14) and “The Following” down by 23 percent year-to-year (versus a 3.1/ 5). And The CW aired “The Originals” (#5: 0.9/ 1) and “Jane the Virgin” (#5: 0.8/ 1), which on average were 29 percent above the failed combination of “Star-Crossed” and “The Tomorrow People” on the year-ago evening. There is something to be said for a low bar of comparison!

About the Daily Ratings
Each day (except Sunday) during the main TV Season we post the TV Ratings for the previous nights primetime shows for the major broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC). Cable Network ratings will be added to the Ratings Database.
The first item that gets posted (normally around 2pm GMT) is the early overnight analysis based on the early household numbers (these are not the same as the Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers that are posted later).
Next, if available, we will post the Top 25 Market 18-49 Ratings to give you a rough idea of the ratings to following.
Later on (normally between 4pm-5pm GMT) we post the official early overnight Total Viewers and 18-49 Demo numbers in the table above (We also where possible now post the 18-34 and 25-54 Demo Numbers).
Finally, later in the evening (10pm-11pm GMT) or the following day, the final adjusted ratings numbers are released, these are then posted in the Ratings Database. The Final Adjusted numbers are what we use for all our Renew/Cancellation Tables, Full Season Tables, Ratings Scorecards etc (see below). Friday's Final Adjusted Ratings are normally available on the following Monday.
