POLL: Which pilots do you want to be picked up to series?
May 1, 2015
Pilot ShowsIn one week, the big five network will have announced which series are renewed and which are canceled. Additionally, each network will order new series and unveil their schedule for the 2015-16 TV season. Below, you can vote for which pilots you want to be ordered to series. Ignore the pilot buzz you have been reading the past few days and just see which pilots you like most and would like to see as series. You can use the links below to find information on each pilot: a description, the cast and the crew. I used these three links for the polls below as well.

Supergirl, Frankenstein, Lucifer, and NBC's Warrior.
ReplyDeleteNot really liking anything besides Blindspot and The Player(both will probably be cancelled after one season anyway). Not really into network TV. Cable and streaming services are so much better.
ReplyDeleteAmazing poll
ReplyDeleteI don't follow comedy pilots so i am going with Dramas only :
ABC
1. Boom
2. The Advocate
3. Kingmakers
4. Smoke & Mirrors (I hope they use this name in the end)
CBS
1. Doubt
2. Code Black
3. SuperGirl
CW
1. Cheerleader Death Squad !!!
2. Cordon
3. Legends of Tomorrow
4. Dead People
FOX
1. Lucifer
2. Frankenstein
NBC
1. The Curse of the Fuentes Women !!!
2. Chicago Med
3. Warrior
Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl.
ReplyDeletePlease, ABC, please pick up Kingmakers! Reverge is ending in 10 days which i still cannot believe. I Need sth like it
ReplyDeleteSo people do want kingmakers to be Picked up!
ReplyDeleteSupergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Minority Report and whatever Marvel-project ABC has planned
ReplyDeleteSome great choices here! I only watch dramas as well.
ReplyDeleteThey won't. 0% buzz.
ReplyDeleteI know :/ very sad though
ReplyDeleteSo do I. I cannot get into comedies
ReplyDeleteSupergirl, kingmakers, shield spinoff, the catch, quantico, mix, super clyde, the real oniels, flesh and blood, boom, lucifer, studio city, legend of tomorrow, cordon, cheerleader death squad, blindspot.
ReplyDeleteKingmakers is not a revenge spinoff right?? I don't think I'll watch if it is.
ReplyDeleteThanks
ReplyDeleteI watch comedies too, but i am not crazy about them as i am about dramas. But i don't care about any comedies during pilot season at all because they all sound the same to me - it all depends whetter i like trailers
And i see some people are complaining about pilot season this year, but i think there are many good possibilities especially since there are not many detective/cops procedural shows, which i usually don't like
Quantico sounds really interesting.
ReplyDeleteNo it is not. It is a show like revenge but will have nth to do with revenge's characters or storyline
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, i'm only interested in Legends of Tomorrow because it's part of Flarrow and i want to see what's going on(Plus, Sara is back! And more Ray!).
ReplyDeleteAlso, Supergirl only interest me if it's not a full procedural and it's a part of Flarrow.
Very weak upcoming shows IMO.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. This seems like a particularly weak pilot season. The weakest in many years.
ReplyDeleteI hope they pick it too, especially for Kristin Bauer Van Straten. She is awesome
ReplyDeleteI think it has been weak for quite some time. I barely watch any shows on Network TV. Not that many high quality shows.
ReplyDeleteWhich explains why the only things I find interesting coming out of ABC are the rumored Muppet show and the rumored Marvel projects that aren't even on the list.
ReplyDeleteKingmakers sounds kind of like Revenge. Is it not made by same creators?
ReplyDeleteNothing
ReplyDeleteDid not know she is in it! Now i hope it is picked up. That sounds if it is picked up she wont be returning as maleficent? :/
ReplyDeleteThere were rumors that it was but creators said it is not
ReplyDeleteI suppose that depends on the individual. For years now, I can recall being interested enough in a handful of potential network projects to know them by name at this point in pilot season. This year, for me, there are barely any.
ReplyDeleteABC
ReplyDeleteChevy
Nerd herd
Quantico
King makers
Of kings and prophets
Smoke and mirrors
Flesh and blood
The mix
CBS
Super girl
NBC
Blind spot
Chicago Med
Game of Silence
Warrior
Fox
Lucifer
Frankenstein
Studio City
Minority Report
CW
Legends of Tomorrow
Dead People
Cordon
From her storyline i have a feeling her story is gonna end this season, it just doesn't feel like multi-seasonal arc. I would rather see her as regular in some show than only recurring. She deserves it
ReplyDeleteBy sallie patrick, only one of the revenge writers
ReplyDeleteI really only care for the potential cable and streaming shows.
ReplyDeleteSupergirl Cheerleader Death Squad Warrior Criminal Minds spin off Frankenstein Angel from Hell The Curse of the Fuentes Women Broad Squad
ReplyDeleteExactly
ReplyDeleteNo Kingmakers? It is like revenge. You watch revenge or?
ReplyDeleteOhh okay thanks :).
ReplyDeleteNo problem :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing much there either.
ReplyDeleteCW: Arrow/The Flash "spinoff"
ReplyDeleteFOX: Frankenstein+Lucifer
I'm not excited this season as i was last year.
Yeah I watch Revenge I didn't see Kingmakers I might of glance over it without realize
ReplyDeleteYay sara mmm about ray lol.
ReplyDeleteNot as much, but I have way more faith in those shows than the potential shows on network TV.
ReplyDeleteKingmakers, Boom, Runner, Cheerleader Death Squad, Superstore, Supergirl, and The Curse of The Fuentes Women.
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to read the script. Best script I've read for a while. It was a good as if not better than How To Get Away With Murder
ReplyDeleteAwesome, but it looks like it's not receiving any buzz.
ReplyDeleteSame here.
ReplyDeleteThe Deadline article that said that Revenge was ending said that Kingmakers has so-so buzz.
ReplyDeleteOh okay. Was just wondering. Sorry for being so nosy
ReplyDeleteI always take these "buzz" articles with a pinch of salt. Lots of hidden and BTS agendas going on ;)
ReplyDeleteObviously what I read was just a script. They still need to turn in great production, acting and direction. But the script itself was very good.
For me it's not about faith. It's about outlets producing content of interest to me and I'm not seeing a lot of that on broadcast, cable, or internet.
ReplyDeleteThat's find
ReplyDeleteMaybe faith was the wrong word, but generally speaking, cable and streaming services provide more interesting content.
ReplyDeleteAnything that is a fantasy series. I miss the good stuff that kinda relates Harry Potter's fantasy.
ReplyDeleteThe pilot I really want to see and hope it gets picked up is The Bastard Executioner (FX)
ReplyDeleteAs for Network TV:
ABC - Quantico.
CBS - Code Black and Limitless.
CW - Dead People.
Fox - Frankenstein.
NBC - Nothing
In the past few years that has been true for me as well but speaking specifically of pilots and potential future projects, I'm seeing nothing on the horizon for cable and internet (HBO, Showtime, Starz, Netflix etc.) that is going to garner anymore interest from me than the forgettable offerings from broadcast networks. Anything that holds any interest for me at the moment already has a series order.
ReplyDeleteabc new dramas seem boring this year.... looking forward to cw arrow/flash spinoff as well as aos spinoff
ReplyDeleteUndoubtedly pilot drama nbc Game of Silence!!has excellent actors and a good plot.
ReplyDeleteOh even Perry is sad.. Let's the pig on my profile picture is sad as well!
ReplyDeleteIt'll be missed.

Cordon
Pretty underwhelming batch from all networks imo.
I watch very few comedies, and have paid little attention to the comedy pilots.
ReplyDeleteFox-Studio City
CBS-none
ABC-Runner. Flesh and Blood
NBC-Blindspot, Endgame
CW-Arrow/Flash spinoff, Cheerleader Deathquad
Looking forward to all the superhero shows (Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, the Mockingbird/Hunter Lance spin-off and the secret Marvel project) and Minority Report, Cheerleader Dead Squad (that name also sounds.. interesting), Dead People, Lucifer, Kingmakers and the new Super Clyde (though I'm still sad it won't include the exact same cast from the old pilot. Rupert Grint was so good in it!).
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts exactly, overall, reading the pilot descriptions, I find this class poor, for network TV's sake, I hope it isn't a disaster like 2012.
ReplyDeleteABC is a wildcard, I don't know what to think about their drama development, don't like their comedy development having tons of old-skewing multicams when their singlecams are shining.
I find CBS drama development great, with too potentialy young skewing (for CBS) show on Supergirl and Limitless and their bread and butter options can be successful, their comedies are awful though, they haven't done well on this area, therefore being unable to replace finished shows like Mother and 2.5 Men.
FOX drama development is thin but has some potential players, I don't buy Rosewood, although Deadline sees it as a favorite, it's just another renamed House, FOX pilots are all procedurals with something different (Lucifer has the devil himself, Minority Report is a bit of sci-fi, Frankenstein is a monster) to align them with the new direction their studios want but without falling into the same kind of procedural CBS or NBC picks. Studio City is the serialized option, it's either paired with Empire or not picked up. I don't like any of their comedies and will be pissed when they hold Last Man on Earth from leftover Bordertown.
NBC has evolved a lot in dramas compared to last season. In 2014, Mysteries of Laura was their strongest drama pilot, no wonder they are going to cancel every freshman show. Comedies are still a mess but I'm hoping they go single-cam and workplace, a Telenovela/Superstore pairing could be just like 30 Rock and The Office if done well.
CW is meh, first time without an established brand leading their pilots since 2010, it looks like 2012 sans Arrow, bunch of niche shows, some sci-fi, some supernatural, the DC spinoff only comes by midseason. If Supernatural: Bloodlines was from this cycle, it would get pick up despite its awfulness.
NBC - Game of Silence
ReplyDeleteFOX - Frankenstein
Those would be my pics too. I need to see trailers before deciding on others. So far there's not a lot compared to last year that sound interesting.
ReplyDeleteSame for the most part. I have a few comedies, but they're rare and all on cable channels.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, I watch several comedies but I don't follow them during pilot season, as it's IMPOSSIBLE to get a feel for them based on a logline. With dramas it's easier to see what might appeal to you.
ReplyDeleteABC: Dolores and Jermaine, Uncle Buck
ReplyDeleteCBS: Sneaky Pete, Super Clyde, Supergirl and possibly Rush Hour.
CW: Dead People and Arrow/Flash spin-off
FOX: Lucifer, Frankenstein
NBC: Blindspot, The Player
I'm only interested in Game of Silence - NBC drama
ReplyDeleteGame of Silence on nbc is the series I am most excited for, saw the Turkish version and it was amazing story!!!!
ReplyDeleteCBS-Supergirl, Superclyde
ReplyDeleteCW-Arrow/Flash Spinoff,Tales from the Darkside,Cordon
ABC-Quantico,The Catch, Nerd Herd,Uncle Buck
NBC-Chicago Med
Fox-Lucifer
CBS- Limitless
ReplyDeleteNBC- The Player, Blindspot
ABC- The Catch, Runner
FOX- Lucifer, Grandpa
ABC: Dr. Ken, The 46 Percenters
ReplyDeleteCBS: None
CW:None
FOX: The Grinder, Grandpa
NBC: Blindspot, The Player, Chicago Med, Warrior, Game of Silence, a The Curse of the Fuentes Women, Superstore, Strange Calls, Cuckoo, How We Live, Sharing, Untitled Suzanne Martin, People are Talking
Dramas
ReplyDeleteNBC: Chicago Med, Blindspot, Endgame, Game of Silence, The Curse of Fuentes Women
CBS: Supergirl, CM Spin Off and Code Black
CW: Every pilot
ABC: Quantico, Broad Squad, LA Crime, Boom, The Catch
FOX: Lucifer, Minority Report, Frankenstein, Studio City
Really???
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm guessing you're a big NBC fan lol..
ReplyDeleteHaha how'd you guess?
ReplyDeleteI actually had hard time choosing
ReplyDeleteI would like for ABC to pick up dramas that have broader appeal. They need dramas that will be able to repeat well. And also dramas whose storylines can allow for the show to run for 4 or more seasons.
ReplyDeleteTop 3 that can achieve that for ABC: Quantico, Boom, Mix
But I wouldn't mind Original Sin (AKA Flesh and Blood) and Smoke & Mirrors (AKA The Catch) to be picked up as well. And I'm curious about Of Kings and Prophets.
I think most of us want Lucifer picked up for FOX. I just wish the producers would change the title of the show. I think it will have a niche audience if the masses find the title a bit too "evil". The title may work negatively towards the show if potential viewers think the show will be too horrific. Why not switch it to The Dark One?
ReplyDeleteAnd I know it would be nice to see an African American lead on another FOX drama but I don't think Autopsy should be picked up.
CBS: I'm really hoping Sneaky Pete gets picked up. I love Giovanni Ribisi and Margo Martindale. It would be something different for the network. And I think that is something that they are striving for this season. Something that would appeal to the CBS audience but be something more unique than what they already have on their slate. Limitless, Rush Hour and LFE should also get picked up.
ReplyDeleteI find CBS drama development more interesting this year than last season. I would absolutely try out Sneaky Pete, Limitless and LFE. Also I think SuperGirl and Rush Hour may be needed to appeal to the younger crowd. CBS doesn't want to be known as a network that is bland, unoriginal and lacks diversity.
ReplyDeleteSo I also think Taxi 22 is necessary for the network. It is something that will push the boundaries. This is a network that is known for All in the Family, Maude, Good Times and The Jeffersons. I would like for them to get back to those days, where they had quality programs that broke new grounds.
In considering what is picked up networks have to also decide if a certain show will fit well with other programming that is also being offered. It is like fitting a puzzle piece into the board.
ReplyDeleteABC has to have a night that will cater to the young male demographic. Quantico will fit well with Agents of Shield.
Quantico! I want it to get picked so bad (fingers crossed on may 12 hoping for a fall slot)
ReplyDeleteAlso Supergirl,LOT,Super Clyde and cheerleader death squad.
Personally, I too think this pilot season is not as strong as last year. There are a few I would like to see as series but nothing is really jumping out for me. Anyway, my picks for dramas (no comedies):
ReplyDeleteABC: Quantico, Boom, Untitled Jenna Bans
CBS: Supergirl, Criminal Minds Spinoff, Sneaky Pete
The CW: Cheerleader Death Squad and Cordon
Fox: Nothing
NBC: Blindspot, The Player
There are a few other projects that sound interesting and might check out if ordered to series, mostly Kingmakers, The Catch, L.A. Crime, Limitless, Rush Hour, Arrow/Flash spinoff and Game of Silence. Last pilot season I didn't want Scorpion picked up but now it's one of my favourite shows, so there's that.
Kingmakers sounds really interesting.
ReplyDeleteI know right, this story is going to be amazing!
ReplyDeleteCBS Dramas
ReplyDeleteCriminal Minds Beyond Borders, Supergirl, LFE, Limitless and Sneaky Pete (no Rush Hour,I have heard its bad)
ABC Dramas(in my opinion they have many good dramas)
Quantico, LA Crime The Sunsetstrip, Original Sin, Of Kings and Prophets and The Broad Squad
Honorable mentions Kingmakers and Mix
NBC Dramas
Blindspot, The Player, Game of Silence, Heart Matters and Chicago Med
FOX Dramas
Studio City, Minority Report, Frankenstein, Lucifer
CW
Cheerleader Death Squad, Cordon, Legends of Tommorow
I mainly watch dramas, but there are also comedies that I'd like to be ordered because of different reasons (potential of the plot, cast, writers, etc.)
ReplyDeleteAbc
Comedies: Chevy, Dr. Ken, The King of 7B, Knoxville, Nerd Herd and Warriors.
Dramas: The Adversaries, Broadsquad, Kingmakers, Quantico and Smoke and Mirrors.
Cbs
Comedies: Angel From Hell, Super Clyde (though it would be weird to see The Middle without Axl) and Life in Pieces.
Dramas: Supergirl, Code Black, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Limitless (hopefully Jennifer Carpenter will be lucky this time), Limitess and For Justice.
Fox
Comedies: Detour, 48 Hours 'Til Monday, The Perfect Stanleys.
Dramas: Lucifer, Studio City, Frankenstein and Minority Report.
Nbc
Comedies: Cuckoo (because of Michael Chiklis and Cheryl Hines), Problem Child, Strange Calls and Take It From Us.
Dramas: Blindspot, Chicago Med, Game of Silence and Hearbreaker (ex Heart Matters)
The CW
Dramas: Arrow/The Flash spin-off, Cordon and Tales from the Darkside. Though I'd really like to see again Reign's Alan Van Sprang (Cheerleader Death Squad) and The Lying Game's Alexandra Chand (Dead People).
It's pretty tough to judge a show just by the log line so I'll probably add/drop a lot of the new shows once the trailers are released for them. Not doing the comedies yet because it's practically impossible to judge them on just what they're about:
ReplyDeleteABC:
- SHIELD spinoff
- Quantico
- Kingmakers
- The Catch
CBS:
-Supergirl
-Limitless
CW:
- Legends of Tomorrow
- Cheerleader Death Squad
- Dead People
FOX:
- Lucifer
- Frankenstein
- Minority Report
NBC:
- Blindspot
- The Player
- Warrior
I wanna see Game of Silence of NBC,I think the most interesting and has a great actor like David Lyons.
ReplyDeleteAt this point I don't have enough interest in any of these to even vote. This season was really a bust for me and not seeing a lot for next season. I seem to be dropping a lot more shows than I'm picking up, which is probably a good thing.
ReplyDeleteFrom the development synopsis, nothing has really whoa-d me this pilot season... Underwhelming across the board.
ReplyDeleteABC comedies
- Warriors (cause I really like Skylar Astin)
- King of 7B (Craig Ferguson... need I say more)
- The Brainy Bunch
Maybe Chev & Bev
Maybe Dr.Ken
ABC dramas
- Quantico
- Broad Squad
And everything Marvel's doing... because... Marvel!
CBS comedies
- Super Clyde
- Angel from Hell
- The Half of it
CBS dramas
- Supergirl
- Sneaky Pete
Maybe Rush Hour
Maybe Limitless
CW
- Cheerleader Death Squad is the only one I'm mildly interested in.
Maybe Dead People. The rest I cold give or take really...
Fox comedies
- The Grinder
- Grandpa
- 48 Hours til Monday
Fox dramas
- Lucifer
- Frankenstein
- Rosewood
Maybe Minority Report
NBC comedies
- Strange Calls
Maybe Superstore
NBC dramas
- Blindspot
- The Player (I think I preferred when the show was called Endgame)
- Warrior
Maybe The Curse of the Fuentes Women
I am all for Game of Silence, I have a little insight on the story from the Turkish version on it and I tell you its will be amazing!
ReplyDeleteHECK YEAH, GOS all the way!
ReplyDelete"Buzz" =/= Getting picked up
ReplyDeleteSome analysis of the results so far:
ReplyDelete- STV is a drama site, except for ABC comedy poll, which comes first, none of them has got more than 300 votes, drama polls are all over 700 votes though.
- ABC comedies have no real separation between the top 4 (Brainy Bunch, Chevy, Dr Ken and NBA), people are picking single cams but I'm surprised "Chang" has a lot of fans and Chevy Chase is still popular among a younger crowd.
- ABC dramas show preferences for conspiracy thrillers in Quantico and fanbases from current shows (Shondaland in The Catch, Revenge for Kingmakers).
- On CBS comedies, no surprise seeing Super Clyde leading, Jane Lynch and Maggie Lawson have lots of fans as Angel for Hell is pretty close.
- Dramas is a runoff win for Supergirl, comic book fans are all over here, no surprise
- Glad to see Death Squad coming as CW #2 option, with the DC Spin-Off getting the lead as obvious.
- FOX comedies are pretty close to each other, but John Stamos are Rob Lowe are more popular than the other.
- Surprising seeing Lucifer leading over Minority Report, comic book effect? Empire's popularity means nothing here as Studio City ranks 4th.
- NBC workplace comedy fans (like me) are still there, as two comedies that fit this description are leading.
- NBC picked three dramas, favorite Game of Silence isn't one of them but #2 Chicago Med and #3 Blindspot are obviously there. Heartbreak didn't get people's attention.
Game of Silence on nbc !!
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one who wants 'Mix' to get picked up to series?
ReplyDeleteThe chances of The Real O'Neals getting picked up are slim due to the protests of hardcore Christian groups :'(
ReplyDeleteThis is just pathetic...
ReplyDelete
