It's a known historical fact that Ragnar was killed and the producer told many times they will follow the story until the vikings land in America, which was much later, so there isn't any surprise there.
was it revealed he's dieing this season? on all accounts i've read his death should be soon depending on how long they extend the period in France anyway, as all accounts agree that he died right after France I think.
I haven't read anywhere if he dies in this season or not, though for a season finale it would be a perfect pitch. IMHO he will not die, because the way and reason behind his death are historically important plus relatively coherently documented. I think the show will need to stick to it and I can't see how could they squeeze that into the last hour.
I don't know if Ragnar will survive this season or not. I really hope so.
He's using religion (via the baptism) as part of a plan to enter Paris and open the gates from the inside. There's also a sentimental and personal reason beyond this. This is not the gesture of someone who's rejecting his previous beliefs or his own culture. He learned from Athelstan that there are more sides to religion than what's commonly believed. In order to seeing him again, he's embracing Christianity. He's not choosing this over that. I think he's beyond that.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I can't believe they are killing Ragnar off the show. I will not be able to watch this show anymore!
