  1. Excellent ep, as usual. Could have done without the kitten drowning, though. Really wish they had done something different there.

Mercy is so creepy, and poor Issac just seems to be constantly suffering.

Mary and the Doctor, I get the feeling it's not going to last, but their scenes are good.

I still don't understand why John wants Mary dead so badly.

  2. Yet to see the episode but I do agree with you. Why does John want Mary dead so badly? Did he even meet her and talk to her in this episode? Or is Mary still in the dark about his return to Salem?

  3. She still doesn't know he's alive, and he almost killed her in this ep. He was using his cloaking spell and standing right next to her with a knife out. It looked like he revealed himself to Cotton at the end of the ep, but no one else knows he's alive. I don't know why John hates Mary so much. All I can think of is he must think she sent the men to kill him.

  4. Well, Mary was running the witch trials which led to many innocent deaths, including his friend and in the end she didn't meet him and leave town, leaving him to be lynched by the town people. So I can see why John wants Mary dead.

I wish we hadn't seen what was in the sack, just leave it as an innocent animal being drowned without more information. I really like Anne Hale now and her attempts at being a good witch.

I wonder if the doctor will get with the "witches are real" program or continue to be above everyone he encounters in town. At least Mary should be in for some interesting, kinky sex, but shouldn't he be wondering why his patient is missing a finger?

I really hope John will interact with Cotton now, I liked their dynamic in S1 and John is a bit too isolated in his story line this season. And what did that hex bag do to him exactly? Would it have killed him if he used it any longer?

Can someone tell Isaac what's really going on, so he's at least not clueless? Looks like he and Dolly might be a thing, if either of them survive Mercy.

  5. I like Anne now, too. I think John and Cotton probably will interact now that Cotton saw him.

I hope Issac recovers. Gotta feel bad for him, he seems to be everyone's punching bag.

Yeah, the kitten scene bugged me. They should have left the bag closed.

I'm sure the Doctor will eventually get a clue.

  6. Yeah, wasn't a fan of Anne in S1, but she's a lot more interesting to me this season. Isaac needs to either die or recover and be useful, I'm tired of him being everyone's punching bag. I hope John and Cotton interact, John did knock him out for some reason, which isn't really nice, LOL. Definitely should have left the bag closed, but they did it for shock value. I look forward to the good, condescending Doctor's reaction when he finds out the truth about Salem.

  7. I dont understand John actions. He is killing witches and when he finds Mary, he is scared and then he goes to Cotton just to knock him out?.

  8. Finally saw the episode. As always, Mary continues to be awesome. How tricky she was, giving Anne that book? She now has access to Anne's most innermost thoughts. Also, she finally found out about Countess Marburg.

Liking Anne's story line and her naive resolve to do good. Also her familiar is cute.

One thing I really love about this show is that it is not afraid to be so gruesome - cases in point this week - Tituba eating Petrus' eyeballs; Anne drowning a kitten and Tituba cutting off the fingers of a corpse.

Tituba ate Petrus' eyeballs and later on Mary asked about them. Makes me wonder if Tituba has now access to Petrus' powers of sight and she has kept this secret from Mary.
