I DID NOT SEE THAT TWIST COMING. This is first time I've watched OUAT live in weeks and oh my God, I'm so glad I did. Loved the Robin backstory and finally, FINALLY, seeing Will get some quality time. BUT WHAT THE HELL IS GONNA HAPPEN NOW?!?
Boring for the first half, really picked up when Zelena made the scene. - Stop it, Snow. Saying, "Caused her to 'lose' her child" is you avoiding responsibility. She didn't lose her child. You stole it and did something horrible to it. - Emma calls her parents on their sh*t. - Can they not bring Robin back? Please? - Robin, you're not honorable. Didn't you cheat on your wife, and leave your son while a witch was running around Storybrooke, to get a booty call? - Will! Maybe we can replace Robin with you. - Halfway in and we still haven't seen Zelena. - I'm siding with Marion. You're not in the Enchanted Forest anymore Robin. - Why hasn't Neil's apartment, or Walsh's business, been rented out yet? - Zelena is back. Yay! - Wow, not safe for the people of color on this show. - Now Robin has changed his mind about who his one true love is...again. - "Are you going to choose the savior, or your one true love." Um...those are the same person. Viva la Swanqueen!
I really didn't see any of this coming...Even though I hate Zelena, I have to admit that she's good. She really is wicked! As for Gold...I think he is past the point of redemption. Zelena killed Neal and yet he's not doing anything about her also ruining Regina's life...messed up. Marian...Did they really have to kill her off like that?
I loved every second of this episode. Zelena's return. Robin's back story. The clever way this show explain how Rumple didnt recognize Robin in Season's 2 LACEY.
HATE HATE HASTE SO MUCH THAT ZELENA'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she's from Season 3 why bring her back and have NEAL'S DEATH UN-AVENGED YOU SONS OF BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This episode dragged on for me because of its slow pace. Also, I'm having a hard time with the way past events have been twisted to bring back Zelena. It doesn't make for very good, cohesive storytelling. I'm also having a hard time feeling any sympathy for Gold as he longs for his happy ending. He was too foolish to see he had his happy ending with Belle because he was too obsessed with getting his dagger back and all the power that comes with it. Now he is in league with the very witch who murdered his son because his life is at risk. I thought he had changed and grown at least a little by learning from his past mistakes. He is just so pathetic right now.
Called it that Zelena was Maid Marion since season three finale loved Robin Hood backstory again we see Will who his sister and where is Ana I'm assuming this is before he met her though
I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but I am so pissed off. Why can't Zelena just die? I do not like her at all. I was so happy when I thought she died. I know that is a mean thing to say, but that's how I felt when Rumple stabbed her. There were great things about the episode though. For one thing, Emma called her parents out on their crap. Lets just blame the author for what happened to Lilly. He's the one who led us there. That is complete crap on their part. They need to feel the responsibility for their actions. Don't blame someone else for a decision they made themselves. They could've said no to the apprentice. I get that they were scared, but that showed that they didn't have faith in Emma being good. That's kinda terrible. It's not like she would've been born good or evil. There is a choice people! I also just loved how Regina stood up for Emma. I'm hoping that she sticks to her guns, but I don't know. What would be better? Having Robin killed or having him living and loving Zelena? I don't wanna sound terrible, but I would rather have Robin die than have him spend another day with that witch thinking that she is his wife. Sorry for the negativity. I'm not trying to offend anyone that loved this episode or who loves Zelena or Robin or anything that I said I didn't like in this episode. This is just my opinion is all.
I agree on most things with U, especially Rumple. One point someone once brought up was him doing all that stuff in 4A was cause he hadn't control over his life, when Zelena controlled him etc etc. But at this point he should've learned that lies and manipulations won't get him nowhere.
Bringing Zelena back wasn't the smartest move, it gives the season quite the edge but still it feels like the cheap way out.
I hope that she doesn't stick around. I was actually thinking that she possibly let Rumple die and then became him. I'm glad that didn't happen. Even though Rumple has really upset me this season, I still love him. It makes no sense, but it's true. :)
Those are some lovely rhymes! But they can't reach the land of tales. Ur wish may be quite strong, but there's no way the writers will write Ur love song. ;-)
Holy crap now THAT was an excellent episode. I loved every moment. That twist was just brilliant and I'm so glad Zelena is back, I love her. Loved the Robin flashbacks too they were really good. Also, and just a me thing, having no Hook in the episode was so nice :)
I'm really surprised by all the negative feedback though, last season having Zelena back was all people wanted, I guess OUAT is just one of those fandoms where you can never please everyone.
I'm really nervous about it's ratings, I don't know how the MTV Movie Awards rate but I'd imagine they'd take a sizable chunk of OUAT's younger demo.
You know I really have no,problem with Robin and Regina being a couple but I absolutely DO NOT like the way they writers have told, this story. This whole episode was about Robin Hood being such an honourable man but how can
The whole Zelena thing seems like a massive cop out on the Robin and Regina plot. They took something that was morally ambiguous and turned it into a clear black and white situation. Gold's character is also completely inconsistent now. He's willing to work with the woman who killed his son, just to stay alive? After he tried to sacrifice his life for his son's sake multiple times and was willing to die to avenge him all last season? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
In the words of Robot Chicken's M. Night Shamalan: WHAT A TWIST!!!! Not a huge fan of Zelina, there are much scarier versions of the Wicked Witch, but still... I am excited to see what will happen
she will be around ;-) you can see BTS photos, when they bring Zelena to Storybrooke and she's wearing the black cuff, same cuff Pan created and Gold wore too, which block magic by the end S3A
perhaps the new "Dark One" ;-) no sorry, was a joke... Emma has the dagger, what we can see on BTS-photos, but not, which name is on it. I know you don't like Rumple, but can't mention it enough: after this episode, not sure if I can see Robert Carlyle in S5, what writers do with him, awful
Rumple is a coward, always was and always will be. He is a parasite who will do whatever to survive. All his development was just a moment of delusional love, that was setback when Zelena killed Neal.
I have no clue about Robert and his plans. In a recent discussion someone stated that he is still in for season 5 so I don't know how true that is. I like to hate Rumple, I see from where he is coming but I would love for the writers to be a bit constant and let him be a villain. Of course nothing is just black and white so I enjoy watching him. I just hope they will stop falling under the fandom's pressure and stop making Belle a fool and stop returning to him.
ah, ok :-) I thought you don't like Robert Carlyle. LOL I like to love Rumple, what he is... and I'm honest: never liked before in my life a villain...but he has something, can't say what have a good day, Greetings from Switzerland
Oh man. Ending with a huge cliff hanger. What will Regina choose? Probably saving Emma because its for the greater good. I loved how this episode dwelt on the bond between Robin and Marian. Well I got a little bit mad when Robin deleted Regina's number but I can understand his reasons. It's funny though how nobody ever listens to Rumple, isn't it? He clearly gave Robin hints on Zelena and told him to run to Regina but well like anybody else Robin did not listen to him.
... And one thing I just don't get. Robin has an iPhone with Regina's picture in it, which means he got it before leaving Storybrooke. Yet, Regina needs Emma to track down a phone number for him!!
WHAT!?
And wouldn't it have been decent of Robin to at least phone Regina and tell her they were safe - BEFORE deleting her from hos phone.
That scene in which he deletes the number got me riled up, too. Although its understandable because he can't live in a limbo between his wife and his feelings for Regina forever and with meeting Rumple he was reminded of her sacrifice so he chose to sacrifice a part of himself. It still sucks because he should have grabbed Roland and made a run for it when Rumple told him to run to his happy ending. And yes poor Regina. Why do they always have to torture her emotionally? No other (former) villain had to endure so much setbacks and tragedic twists.
I think it was planned all the way that Marian was Zelena. Zelena's death wasn't very convincible in the first place and it made a lot of sense to why the curse of her was enacted after she 'died'. It finally makes sense. And Rumple is a coward. I once had sympathy for his fate but now I hope he pays for the things he did. He always tricks the poeple near to him Belle, Neal, Regina and so on just to make life easier for himself. But then again that's how he had always been.
I wanted to punsh him when he did that. But he is not an ass because we have to remember that he does not know its Zelena and that he tries to go on with his life with Marian. Regina is pretty much unreachable for him so he has to let go to continue living with his life. And no matter what Robin does someone calls him an ass either because he cheats on his wife or because he doesn't. :D
Thank you. Reading other comments I was beginning to think I was the only one who loved the episode because it showed how the show planned this storyline way beforehand and how it stuffed plot holes. Finally some things from the end of season 3 make more sense and yes having Robin taking the charm to glamour himself for Rumple was brilliant. Although they now have to explain why Belle did recognize him in 3x12. ;)
I think its the other way around. The first look was desperation for the idea of loosing her true love. The second look was determination to stay strong against Rumple and not let him have his way and turn another pure soul into a monster.
We may have had this discussion before, but is this happening before Will's "happy ending" or after it? He was in Storybrook when the White Rabbit found him.
Awesome episode, a lot of surprises and i can't wait to see more. Interesting is that Robin's wife is dead after all. Zelena being alive is interesting, but not that good for me, she is one of those i hate characters that i don't like even when they are good.
Rewatched the episode once more this morning. The show really has an issue in starting their stories/episodes. The first half feels so slow, the flashbacks are a drag till he reaches the EC and Will's part in this was completely unnecessary and a bit forced. From the moment the Zelena reveal happened the show was top notch and probably the best since season 2A. The speech between Robin and Marian in the flashback was really moving and I've got some hope that the shower scene (besides showing some skin from Sean) and follow up scene were some indications that Robin is doubting Marian. It felt a bit to sterile and easy.
and when he has a plan again? yes, a deal is a deal...but sometimes perhaps you can twist/turn words (probably like" the deal we made in N.Y. and now we're in Storybrook". We know how clever Rumple/Gold is... look how he was could do without magic (Oxford Professor, manipulate Cruella and Ursula etc). I only mention it, because I remember the BTS-photos from "Lily" or "Mother", where Regina holds Zelena and Zelena wears the cuff, which created Pan, wore Rumple, block magic. Either Regina, Belle, someone else steel from Rumple, or Rumple gave it to defraud Zelena.
He already used Zelena as a threat to persuade Regina and I think he will find a way to get out of deal without getting out of the deal. And yes, he always has it with words. When he was glamoured as Hook he made Belle say "Dark One face me". She could have said "show yourself" or "appear right in front of me" and his trick would have failed but instead he told her what to say so she wouldn't notice. Honestly I don't remember the cuff. Did his father use a cuff to transform to Pan?
I have the same idea. Wonderworld happens somewhere between Once. And isn't Alice's wedding years after they defeat Jafar? I really don't know because I didn't watch all of it.
sorry my English, I hope you all understand what I write: cuff: no, Pan (Rumple's father) created it, gave it to Tamara. Rumple took it after he killed Tamara in Neverlands. In S3/15 "Going Home", Rumple first meant he blocked magic from Pan (in his shop), wanted to talk with him while all others went to search Henry, then Pan laughed and said that he created it and blocked Rumple... first Rumple wanted to cut with a sword his arm to be free, was a coward, then sacrificed himself with the dagger. You could see on Spoiler and Twitter BTS-photos, were Regina holds Zelena, after Zelena get out Emma's car, and there you can see that she wears this cuff too. If it's the same, I don't know... only have seen it and think is the only chance to hold Zelena in a "town with magic" under control.
"... but how can you call call yourself honourable when you are sleeping with someone when you are married"
You do know, that before Marian/Zelena went through the portal, she was presumed dead for ~30 years. Marian rising from the dead didn't change the fact that Robin was a widower for a very long time and had had every right to move on with his life.
Howmany times are we going to see Robin "choose"? I love #OutlawQueen, but seriously. After having chosen Regina and saying that he needed to live an honest life and follow his heart, he once again changes his mind. I think the writers are doing Robin's character a disservice here. I'm sure he'll be back with Regina soon but it weakens their love story that he, right after leaving Storybrooke, is sort of wanting to be back in love with Marian - and even a fake one. I wonder how they've lived for the nine weeks that have now past. I he happy with her or does he find her to be a stranger?
I thought Marian was just presumed dead for a few years, given the young age of their son and the fact that he recognized his mom. The timeline is weird, but I don't think Robin was in Storybrooke during the first curse. And for all his talk of loving Marian, his treatment of her when she returned was pretty cold. So in a way they are using this to make Regina and Robin's pairing seem OK, which always seemed wrong to me, especially given that Marian was imprisoned (and presumably killed) by Regina)
I'm not a fan of Robin, so if it wasn't for Zelena, the episode would be boring for me. Although, I don't see the point in bringing her back - she wanted to steal Regina's happines and I guess she did it. Is she coming back?
found again. https://www.flickr.com/photos/110865913@N05/sets/72157650757393699/ check photos with Zelena, Hood and Regina, left hand...all photos, in one you can see isn't a shirt, is a cuff and I mean is the same as Rumple had to wear in S3/15
Here's how I see it. The most of "OUATiW" took place somwhere during season 2 of "OUAT". Then there was Alice and Cyrus' wedding. Now, after that, something must have happened that caused Will and Anastasia to part their ways (possibly because of the whole "no happy endings for villains" shenanigan, which, as we know, unfortunately works even for reformed villains such as Regin and in that case: Ana). Ana is (as of now) MIA, Will's in Storybrooke and he hooks up with Belle. What happens next - we don't really know. What we know is that some time later, when Alice and Cyrus' have their daughter, Will and Ana come together and rule the Wonderland as White Queen and White King. Now, this is only my take on it, but if you remember the book Alice read to her daughter, I think it was the one that eventually made Will and Ana's happy ending possible. And if i remember well it was Alice who wrote it.
No need to apologize. I am no native speaker either. ;) Ah okay. I remember those shackles. They were used by Greg and Tamara to capture Regina and to bind Rumple. Nice that they make an appearance again. Although I am not sure if bringing Zelena back to Storybrook is a good idea. :D
Time was frozen in the EF too. I think it was Mulan who told Aurora that she was asleep for 28 years (2x01 or 2x02 ?). Robin's treatment of Marian was strange. I wouldn't say cold but given the circumstances, strange. I don't know what I would have done in his situation. On one hand, you're finally falling in love again, on the other you're beloved wife comes back from the dead. The perfect melodrama where right and wrong isn't clearly defined. I think the writers didn't handle the storyline very well but you're perfectly right, they indeed use the Marian/Zelena story to favor OutlawQueen. A more slowly and uncomplicated development of their relationship would have been better but... well... it's a tv-show ;)
Woah, such a divisive episode! Didn't see it coming.
I understand that some people think the Zelena twist is a cop out, but I honestly can't see past how much fun the show is going to have with this! And Rebecca Madder is back! I honestly can't be mad at the show for doing that
you're welcome, thank you so much for your kind words. Really no good idea to bring Zelena to Storybrooke, but according imdb she will play in "Mother" and "Operation Mongoose Par 2" again too. And the photos from Facebook side/Andrieutti seems are from "Mother"
Will's sister, Penelope, was first mentioned in W.12. She was killed when she was skating in a frozen lake or something over a thin layer and fell in. We all thought that'd tie in with the S4A story but nope, no such luck.
I'm so happy that Zelena's back but the exucution of her return?!..... They must think we're all stupid?...... from TV.com's review of the ep :
"first I think we all need to take a moment and really appreciate what Once Upon a Time is trying to get away with here. Maid Marian has always been Zelena? All the time she was in Storybrooke, Maid Marian was Zelena in disguise, quietly moving in on Robin Hood to spite Regina? So this was true when she told Regina that Regina could have Robin Hood because she, Maid Marian, was moving on? And this was true when she unwittingly ate some magicked ice cream that turned her into an ice statue for the entire time Elsa was in town? And this was also true when she first came to Storybrooke and immediately recognized Roland, who Zelena had never seen before? Even if somehow we could just accept all of this, we’re supposed to just nod along with the idea that Zelena’s SENTIENT LIFE FORCE left her body and hovered around Emma and Hook through space and time like a bad smell? No, honey, no. Nuh-uh. Nice try, OUAT, but you need to show me some receipts when you try to make such an extensive return. You can’t just ret-con half a season and exchange an entire character with a color-changing necklace and call it a day."
I'm sure the rest of the season will be awesome thanks to this twist but I just wish they would have done things differently.....
And it's now official, I went from liking Robin to just being indifferent to him and now, after this ep (and 4A), I just almost hate him....
I don't know how you imagine them working on stories but a plan can be for a few episodes, a season or the plot of the entire show. And it felt more like a planned storyline in comparison to other storylines. Now things make more sense. Like why did Zelena had to be killed of so quickly - which back then was weird - and how she enacted the curse although she was dead. I really don't find a plot hole in here. And yes, Robin and the tattoo was obviously planned.
This episode wasn't the best, for sure. But I don't really understand why the more extreme positions are voted in this poll. In my opinion the episode was overall good, it lacked some Storybrooke characters but I liked both NY and flashbacks scenes. The problem here is about Zelena's return. Yes there is the thing of no magic outside the border but the necklace is ok. What I don't like is to know that she spend all these weeks with Robin with seemingly not a lot of evolution. Robin's words to fake Marian didn't seem genuine especially after what he said to Gold and his doubts but erasing Regina's number is a bit much. And the kiss is ugh. So now I don't know how he could not be with her... Also with Zelena being the champion of the awkward situations there is the scene with Gold. Which is a really really good scene and Bex's talent shone but she's always so close to Rumple. Despite what he's doing rn, I just felt for him.
So overall : flashbacks were good, roland was cute, props to Christie for her scenes despite the implications, she nailed fake Marian at the hospital, didn't like the Charmings sort of minimizing what they did, loved the bit of Author we had, why this ultimatum Gold that's not nice. And I wonder what Regina says after.
I get what you are saying but that is the whole thing with Robin Hood and always has been- his being an honourable man- he stole from the rich to give to the poor and had a code. I just don't feel that what happened with Regina when Marian came back was honourable and now that I remember didn't Regna threaten Snow when she was Mary Margaret cause she was with David when he was married? As I said I said I don't maybe a problem with them being a true love couple, but feel the story could have been told way differently. Marion being Zelena all along to make way for OQ doesn't change the fact that Emma brought Marian back, that would have happened even if Zelena didn't change places with her.
I know....and ultimately, it's about being entertained. Had the Robin Regina relationship had a more realistic development, or slow burn, I would have been able to appreciate their connection, but it happened so quickly, that I have a hard time being interested in its development. And then the Marian part just made it worst. If she had just come back from the dead, it would have been OK, but the fact that she was killed by Regina just made it so much more cruel...especially seeing Regina profit from something terrible that she did. I still don't get why that part of the story was necessary (couldn't Marian have died by something non-Regina-related?). There was enough drama in that love triangle without that extra part.
I agree. To me, it was clear that they realized how badly they had handled the Marian/Regina/Robin issue and that they had to do something to make Robin seem less of a prick and also to make people stop questioning the morality of his whole relationship. But ever since season 3, the writers have sacrificed a decent storyline in favour of fanservice.
I've always been a huge OutlawQueen fan, but this episode has almost ruined it for me. ITA about seeing Robin chose yet again. It makes him look like his "code" is to love the one your with at the moment. I'm sure they'll put OutlawQueen back together again, but right now I don't want to see that happen without Robin having to fight for it and really prove his love for Regina. Otherwise I think Regina should walk away and find someone that will love her and only her.
I know. I get that the situation as it is written is really difficult, but still. Robin was heartbroken leaving Regina and then a few days later resolved to continue his life with Marian. Granted, he has been forced by circumstances and now puts weight on the history he and Marian share. I'm still rooting for OutlawQueen, but as you said, this episode didn't do anything great for their love story ... at least not on Robin's part.
So... once again we have a "Oz arc": ■ Emma as Good Witch of the South ■ Regina as Good Witch of the North ■ Maleficent as Wicked Witch of the East ■ and Zelena as herself (Wicked Witch of the West)
About Episode.... MORE THAN AWESOME! I love those flashbacks in flashbacks. The way they brought back WWW was marvelous.
Zelena don't have magick, but she have magic objects. Just like Regina used her engagment ring from Daniel, to bring back poisoned apple in s01e22, when there was no magic either.
I rewatched the scene. What you said is what Aurora told Mulan but if you watch one more minute Mulan said "For 28 years we were frozen and than time started again"
I loved the Robin Hood flashback scenes. Although most of the fandom know he was referred as Hood in Lacey; but shhh. I'm glad to see Zelena back; although we know she is making it harder for my dream of her & her sister to work on healing their relationship; but she is allot like her sis here choosing Revenge..still over redemption just like Evil Queen did in jail cell; she still wanted to get revenge on Snow even after having her life spared. I'm annoyed at the whole code thing being brought up again; we've been there; he chose Regina why rehash this again? He was seriously thinking in that shower; then he was all gung ho; and I don't think it's an accident he brought up the memory of what Marian said; he may have been testing. I think he knows and is playing Zelena right now. I trust why he said to Marion "you are different" because being with her in NY he knows this isn't the same "Marion". I'm not surprised at the Zelena plot twist because I'm from the obsessed part of the fandom that figured that out from spoiler pics, I'll also flirt with Robin slipped the "get over heartbreak potion to"; maybe Z put in a drink before his shower; who knows. Remember he has Charmings & Will's cell #'s; so he can always track down Regina if he needs to. He may be playing along right now to protect Regina. No surprise she will choose to appear to go along w/Rumple; but promo shows she tells the Charmings/Emma about Marian/Zelena. She's grown and no way going to let Rumple do to Emma what he did to her.
Part of me understands and agrees with you about not knowing how things have gone with Robin over the nine weeks. But a big part of me needs to see some redeeming quality in Robin to get me to fully get behind OutlawQueen again. I think it would help if Robin makes up his mind once and for all that its Regina he really loves and doesn't want to live without before he finds out that Marion is really Zelena. Otherwise I think it will be hard for me to believe in his love if its only after he learns Marion is Zelena and Regina is the only option he's left with.
I would love if your theory about Robin being onto fake Marian is right. That would also make more sense, really. For one, it seemed off that he so quickly "erased" Regina unless it was part of some plan. Also he knows about the necklace and it ability to make people shape-shift. Thirdly, it makes very little sense if he is not able to feel that this is not Marian. A lot of gaps in their conversations, I bet ... Lastly, that may also be why he has not contacted Regina. He does want to put her through more crap.
So let's hope you're right. That would bring their romance back on track.
That's a scary thought! Zelena as the Dark One would be hella worst than Rumple! He was a coward before he became the Dark One. Zelena is a batshit crazy revengeful jealous powerful sorceress w/out the dagger; everyone will be in deep doo doo if she is the Dark One; that's for sure! Although I am hoping we find out what's up with that shady Blue Fairy!
Why does everyone forget they were living under the same roof in the castle in the EF for a year? Also Snow/Charming knew each other what, one day before they fell in love? Ariel & her beau; what a day? Only OQ has to explain themselves when in reality they've known each other longer that the rest of the couples on the show.
I sort of agree. But another poster just came up with a great theory which I so hope to be true, because that would fix everything ;-)
What if Robin is onto fake Marian? That would make more sense. For one, it seemed off that he so quickly "erased" Regina unless it was part of some plan. Also he knows about the necklace and its ability to make people shape-shift. Thirdly, it makes very little sense if he is not able to feel that this is not Marian (and clues were dropped during the episode). Lastly, that may also be why he has not contacted Regina. He does want to put her through more crap.
Didn't Sean also hint that "Robin is a clever guy" ...
CS only knew each other for a couple of weeks in NL & through the whole portal thing in S3. Regina & Robin fought side by side & lived under the same roof for a year! Her heart wasn't open for love because of losing Henry; but she shared personal things w/him in the Crypt & they bonded there. He was a grieving widower & moved on; how different can you be after so many years!? Marian died while Roland was an infant. Adam said Roland called her mommy because he "heard" abt her; that was his explanation; not that he remembered seeing her. Yeah they could have done it different; but here we are and OQ shouldn't have to explain themselves for knowing each other longer than any of the other couples who fell in love on day one!
After I settled after the clusterfeck of Season 3B finale I called Marian being Zelena. It was just "too" convenient that her "essence" opened the portal & of all time for Emma/Hook to go back in time it was "the day" Evil Queen arrested Marian. Like really? And thus Regina's happiness being screwed with all of Season 4; thanks sis!
Or he thought abt it in the shower then used that line on "Marian" to test her & deleted # and is playing her right now. It'd be too dangerous to flee w/Roland & he knows that he can never go to Storybrooke. He has the rest of the Charmings/Will's numbers; he can always try to get to Regina if he needs to. I think he is protecting Roland & Regina at this point. If he has a clue it's Zelena; then he knows "staying w/her" is the only way he can keep her from hurting his son or Regina; obviously she has magic in our world.
Do they follow Adam on twitter? Because Adam already answered Roland calling Marian "mommy" because he was an infant when she died. Adam said he "heard stories about Marian and assumed she was his mommy from those stories"
Wait; that is Lilly Sparks who wrote that. Lilly is a hard core Swan Queen shipper & hates all that is Outlaw Queen. The fact that you can have a hard core shipper write an unbiased article is ridiculous; she shouldn't even have that job but just run a SQ fan account. But I'm sure all of SQ reads her articles to cheer her on at every turn and post her OQ/Robin Hood hate articles as serious writing on the rest of us; no thanks!!!
I used to read Spark's recaps because her comedic writing is really well done. However, I stopped reading them at the beginning of 4B because her tone continued to shift from funny to bitter and plain dishonest--which I find to be also malicious. If you don't watch the show and then read her recaps (like many claim to do in the comment sections of her articles) you would actually have no idea what really happens in the episodes because instead of exaggerating what's on screen to exploit the ridiculousness for comedic purposes, she now just completely fabricates and intentionally misinterprets characters and scenes to push an agenda. I will never understand why some people want to take one of the last family-friendly TV shows on network to drag it through the mud. Because of my convictions is hard for me to find anything to watch on TV, but for those like the aforementioned recapper (if I'm interpreting her positions right) it's like if you want more adult content, cynicism, and progressive messages watch HBO, Logo, etc, etc, etc, or even pretty much anything else on ABC (barring the three shows I watch--Once, The Middle, and Last Man Standing.) But I digress; sorry for rant. :)
He broke my heart a little bit, too. I felt like a teenager when I yelled at the monitor "No way. you can't!" But he will probably have suffered for nine weeks. It was a pretty dumb thing to do but I hope he learned from his mistake.
This was lame! The writers just don't care about plot holes, or any laws of magic they established! This was the first time I wanted to turn off the TV while watching the OUaT, and it's my favorite show! I felt like I was watching Revenge with all the 'I was actually not dead' twist! They really need to come to there sences or the ratings are going to keep falling
It would be great if this theory turned out to be true, but I guess I saw the way things played out in the episode differently. Right now I just don't have a lot of faith in Robin and his feelings. I'm going to wait until they show how things have layed out over the nine weeks. Hopefully the writers will restore my love for OutlawQueen.
I like your theory and the part of me that rooted for OutlawQueen kind of hopes your right. But a friend pointed out to me a big problem with the OQ love story that the writers created last night. Robin told Gold that it was if Marion was a stranger he no longer knew. Well that makes sense since its really Zelena. But if Zelena had failed to kill the real Marion and she had made it back to Robin then the connection between them would still be there. Making it unlikely that if the real Marion had returned that Regina would have even been in the running for Robin's heart. The writers basically made it clear that Marion really was Robin's one true love. That pretty much makes Regina the consolation prize (something she already was with King Leopold). While I don't think Leopold ever loved Regina and I do think Robin does. Regina deserves to be someone's true love. The writers have made it clear Daniel was Regina's first love and Robin her true love. But apparently she's destined to never have someone feel the same about her. At least not unless they change the rules of fairytale true love and they now get more than one.
I too was pretty confused about all of that so went back and watched 411 and sure enough, Marian did basically tell Robin and Regina to be together. Which makes zero sense with how the Zelena story is being written. What is bothering most about this season is that the other seasons have all had a natural flow to them- this season however, to me, is choppy and not cohesive. Some of the episodes seem almost one offs to give characters something to do to keep them in the story. I have liked lots of what has happened this year- this story isn't one of them- and some of the stories are totally contradictory to what has already happened. If you are a die hard fan like me, you watch episodes more than once so you do remember what has gone on before.
Let's hope so ... I'm not sure about this theory either - but it's possible. And Robin has to be pretty dense not to notice something is off with his wife (over nine weeks). And I want to keep liking him - I don't want him to be dumbed down.
Yes, but sheknew him from s03e18, since Gold get Regina's heart and "tried to kill" Roland to get it. Zelena could ask him "how?" and he told her about the boy.
Clue: if Zelena never dies then her curse on Hook never lifts and Emma never gets her powers back so she can not use the wand to come back to this realm and she is not a match for Ingrid or Elsa. On the plus side having Will turn out to be Rumple might make the show a bit better as Robin never told Will who he was stealing the elixir for and yet Will wishes Robin good luck with Rumple. Robin had his fate in his hand and gave it away. Rumple survived 28 years in Storybrooke before magic arrived and with a heavy heart. Perhaps he needed the elixir for that reason. Perhaps Zelena was not the only one with a glamour spell in Oz.
hm, the writers may wacthed The Flash :D Time traveler travelled back in time.. Eobard / Zelena.. both killed somebody: Wells / Marian... and both shapeshifted into the person they killed.. :D
In 3x22 her pendant activated the spell. With this new revelation it was probably her soul reclaiming her power sucking it out of the pendant. It makes more sense then the spell going off on its own.
But when Zelena traveled back with them she could have just lifted the curse on Emma and Hook herself to make sure that they will return with her to Storybrook. Maybe it wasn't even Emma regaining her powers in Rumple's vault but Zelena giving them back to her.
I never believed she was really dead. It had been to easy, with no drama at all. I found it funny how many people are shocked she is back because it was not an unlikely twist. And it finally explains why the hell Marian was brought back. By the way which law of magic are you referring to? Other than the time travel I can't figure out which law might have been broken in this episode.
Objects can be magical if they were before they entered the land with no magic. Like the scroll the Snow Queen had to enter Storybrook. And I found the plot twist nice because now some things make more sense in regard to Marian.
They probably have to explain themselves because the relationship would never have happened if Regina hadn't killed Robin Hood's wife. The whole thing just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Marian was also supposedly the love of Robin's life (and mother of his child) and then suddenly, he didn't even seem to care that she was alive. Regina seemed to care more about saving Marian's life in the end than Robin. I understand that Regina is following a better path, but I wish her relationship had happened with someone else and not from this circumstance. I think Snow and Charming had the palpable attraction from the start so maybe that's why it made more sense to me.
BTW I think that the Charmings get attacked far more than Regina does on this boards....and sometimes the get attacked for the mildest of things. Regina, on the other hand, seems to be a favorite at this site, so this idea that "everyone" is giving Regina a hard time is way off.
fair point! lol you do know your stuff :D even if I still find the "Marian was always Zelena" really "plot holy" far various reasons ;) I'm really not against this storyline but zelena remplacing Marian after 4x11 (just after she woke up) would have made way more sense :) and an other thing, how did Zelena knew in 3x22 that the lady Emma knocked out was Robin's wife ? because even Hook and Emma ignored that then?
I am not sure why you think it explains why Marian was brought back? Zelena only had the opportunity to get into Marian's body because Emma and Hook were bringing her back, and bringing her back was what forced Regina to want to rewrite her ending. She said in season 3 Villians don't get happy endings. Marion I believe was brought back to throw a wrench into Regina's happy ending and cause the whole theme of looking for the author.
This is why they invented the Author to use him as a giant erase all for plotholes and inconsistencies. The fact is simple if the scene is not in the show it did not happen but to be more clear Zelena was separated from her pendant, the receptacle of all her and Emma's magic and did not have any power herself according to the show. This episode they edited out the crypt scene and have the smoke travel straight to the time portal where the disembodied Zelena activates the portal and then illogically goes some time other than when she intended. Sloppy writing. If they wanted the curse lifted they should have shown it like killing Marian who we have to assume got killed after Blue met the group or she would have known that was not Marian. Seriously I do not think the writers review their past episodes well.
She's baaack, she's baaack, she's baaack! That's all I have to say. XD Gosh, I adore Rebecca Madder and I am so happy that I was wrong to believe that they overhyped this episode with lame flashbacks. EPIC!
Btw - anyone has any theories as to how did she get ahold of that cloak thingy that Robin gave to Marian years ago?
A lot of people here on SpoilerTV called that as well; that she's been Marian all this time, but I don't think anyone actually had a substantial theory as to how in the hell she made it possible. Zelena is truly the mastermind. LONG LIVE THE WICKED WITCH!
Oh boy...would I love to see that happen. So that's scenario no. 3 to add to my list. That would be awesome...and kinda...apocalyptic? Gee. The OUaT landscape would be changed forever in an exciting, refreshing way (and I mean through Zelena becoming the Dark One, not Rumple's death, at this point I wish him the worst, but I love RC!)
Now that you bring it up, it seems as though Gold is seriously becoming like the new Margaux of OUaT. (For those of you who don't get the reference : Margaux was basically the moral compass of Revenge when first introduced, then turned grieving villain, then turned grieving victim of her own actions, then turned the one who takes the high way, then turned villain-esque again - the last two over the span of the last (one - sic!) episode).
And you people think this made any sense? Come on. Zelena, a powerful witch pretending to be Hood's wife and frozen for half a season? Stupid plot twist.
I'm going to say it was because Neal was talking to him first and she read in between the lines (as she does so well... ha ha). And Neal knew him as he really looked, so that's good enough for me. I am so, so glad they found a way to cover the first part up at least. : )
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit, that was a plot twist I didn't see coming. Nice job on the long con, Zelena. Poor Marian, though.
ReplyDeleteWHERE IS ANA AND WHY ISN'T WILL WITH HER? And who is his sister? Poor Will too.
Regina stepping up for Emma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loved it
ReplyDeleteSuch a strong aND vital episode!
Loved that last fb scene between Robin and Marian. So simple so strong.
Boring for the first half, really picked up when Zelena made the scene.
ReplyDelete- Stop it, Snow.
ReplyDeleteAs for Gold...I think he is past the point of redemption.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't this have been before he met Anastasia?
ReplyDeleteYes...otherwise he would have been taking the potion for her sake rather than his sister's. I didn't mention Ana though...
ReplyDeleteHATE HATE HASTE SO MUCH THAT ZELENA'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she's from Season 3 why bring her back and have NEAL'S DEATH UN-AVENGED YOU SONS OF BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes you did. I almost thought I misremembered, until I saw that you called her Ana, instead of Anastasia, once again.
ReplyDeleteDamn didn't see that coming! Robin that trifling ass...I threw a tantrum when he deleted Regina's number
ReplyDeleteThis episode dragged on for me because of its slow pace.
ReplyDeleteyou know part of me thought that maybe he was testing her
ReplyDeleteWouldn't this have been before he met Anastasia?
ReplyDeleteLoved the episode, but still ... NO NO NO NO!!
ReplyDeletethis is before he took his heart out, he hadn't met Ana yet. BUT in the present I HATE THEM SO MUCH!!!!! for what they did to Will and Ana
ReplyDeleteCalled it that Zelena was Maid Marion since season three finale loved Robin Hood backstory again we see Will who his sister and where is Ana I'm assuming this is before he met her though
ReplyDeleteYes, but I'd still like to know what's happened to her.
ReplyDeleteyou know she'll choose Hood not Emma
ReplyDeletesame and someone please ask the creators why they destroyed the beautiful love story between Will and Ana
ReplyDeleteSEASON 3 FINALE?! you're kidding
ReplyDeletewhy not? didn't Gold almost kill him?
ReplyDeleteDoubt it! Not the same selfish Regina there. She is smarter and more resourceful than we think.
ReplyDeleteThis the 2nd or 3rd time they are mentioning Will's sister. I hope she was someone in the bigger picture.
ReplyDeleteUgh I can't believe he did that to Regina
ReplyDeleteI'm probably the only one who feels this way, but I am so pissed off. Why can't Zelena just die? I do not like her at all. I was so happy when I thought she died. I know that is a mean thing to say, but that's how I felt when Rumple stabbed her.
ReplyDeleteThere were great things about the episode though.
Yeah I never thought Zelena was dead I always thought she went in the past with Emma and Hook
ReplyDeleteI agree on most things with U, especially Rumple. One point someone once brought up was him doing all that stuff in 4A was cause he hadn't control over his life, when Zelena controlled him etc etc. But at this point he should've learned that lies and manipulations won't get him nowhere.
ReplyDeleteBringing Zelena back wasn't the smartest move, it gives the season quite the edge but still it feels like the cheap way out.
A lot of people on #Queerytales called that.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, I doubt Zelena will stick around. They just brought her back to raise the stakes going towards that finale. ;-)
ReplyDeleteQueerytales? Can't decipher this!
ReplyDeleteI hope that she doesn't stick around. I was actually thinking that she possibly let Rumple die and then became him. I'm glad that didn't happen. Even though Rumple has really upset me this season, I still love him. It makes no sense, but it's true. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's the hashtag for lesbians who watch the show.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm...doesn't Robert Carlyle want out? Maybe Rachel Mader is going to become the new Dark One.
ReplyDeleteYes, that's the reason. Yeah. *cough*SwanQueen*cough*
ReplyDeleteI find all those SwanQueen fans sweet, but I really doubt it will happen.
ReplyDeleteI hope not. He's so awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhen you wish upon a star,
ReplyDeleteMakes no difference who they are,
Any ship your heart desires,
Will come true
Those are some lovely rhymes!
ReplyDeleteBut they can't reach the land of tales.
Ur wish may be quite strong,
but there's no way the writers will write Ur love song.
;-)
also killing Robin for stealing from him. He called Robin a thief in season 2 LACEY not by name,
ReplyDeletethe first look she gave i would've agreed but that second more malevolent look i disagree
ReplyDeleteoh for real? all this time i thought he DID recognize him, but why wouldn't he recognize him? aside from the obvious recasting LOL
ReplyDeleteThat was the I have a freaking plan and will burn down your village look.
ReplyDeletei may hate regina with every fiber of my being but yeah definitely
ReplyDeletelet's hope so, except for the whole "burn down village" part since she DID do that all the time
ReplyDeletewhoa! very VERY smart of you, nice
ReplyDeletethat why Robin at the charm that can change appear. this flashback took place b4 season 3 LACEY. Which is y Rumple didnt recognize him
ReplyDeleteso the recasting was the charm?
ReplyDeleteBasely
ReplyDeleteHoly crap now THAT was an excellent episode. I loved every moment. That twist was just brilliant and I'm so glad Zelena is back, I love her. Loved the Robin flashbacks too they were really good. Also, and just a me thing, having no Hook in the episode was so nice :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really surprised by all the negative feedback though, last season having Zelena back was all people wanted, I guess OUAT is just one of those fandoms where you can never please everyone.
I'm really nervous about it's ratings, I don't know how the MTV Movie Awards rate but I'd imagine they'd take a sizable chunk of OUAT's younger demo.
That was totally unexpected! Zelena is back and alive.
ReplyDeletehuh nice little save they had for making Gold not remember him
ReplyDeleteactually Hook WAS in the episode
ReplyDeleteI don't remember him in it and that's what's important! He must not have done anything too important anyway.
ReplyDeleteYou know I really have no,problem with Robin and Regina being a couple but I absolutely DO NOT like the way they writers have told, this story. This whole episode was about Robin Hood being such an honourable man but how can
ReplyDeleteThe whole Zelena thing seems like a massive cop out on the Robin and Regina plot.
ReplyDeleteIt kinda takes the shock out of everything when you have seen the spoiler pics.
ReplyDeleteJesus Christ that was awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo glad to have Zelena back! And the way they brought her back, man it was brilliant!
he was just walking with David, Mary Margaret and Emma looking for The Author
ReplyDeleteIn the words of Robot Chicken's M. Night Shamalan: WHAT A TWIST!!!!
ReplyDeleteNot a huge fan of Zelina, there are much scarier versions of the Wicked Witch, but still... I am excited to see what will happen
she will be around ;-) you can see BTS photos, when they bring Zelena to Storybrooke and she's wearing the black cuff, same cuff Pan created and Gold wore too, which block magic by the end S3A
ReplyDeletehow they write now the Gold-story, seems really we will not see him in S5
ReplyDeleteI meant she wouldn't stick around pass the season.
ReplyDeletedumb and dumber ...how this show can get away with such a huge amount of stupidity and plot holes?
ReplyDeleteperhaps the new "Dark One" ;-) no sorry, was a joke... Emma has the dagger, what we can see on BTS-photos, but not, which name is on it.
ReplyDeleteI know you don't like Rumple, but can't mention it
enough: after this episode, not sure if I can see Robert Carlyle in S5, what
writers do with him, awful
Rumple is a coward, always was and always will be. He is a parasite who will do whatever to survive. All his development was just a moment of delusional love, that was setback when Zelena killed Neal.
ReplyDeleteI have no clue about Robert and his plans. In a recent discussion someone stated that he is still in for season 5 so I don't know how true that is.
ReplyDeleteI like to hate Rumple, I see from where he is coming but I would love for the writers to be a bit constant and let him be a villain. Of course nothing is just black and white so I enjoy watching him. I just hope they will stop falling under the fandom's pressure and stop making Belle a fool and stop returning to him.
ah, ok :-) I thought you don't like Robert Carlyle.
ReplyDeleteLOL I like to love Rumple, what he is... and I'm honest: never liked before in my life a villain...but he has something, can't say what
have a good day, Greetings from Switzerland
He chose his life over his son before. That is not inconsistent but more consistent than making him die in a hospital to cherish his son's memory.
ReplyDeleteOh man.
ReplyDelete... And one thing I just don't get. Robin has an iPhone with Regina's picture in it, which means he got it before leaving Storybrooke. Yet, Regina needs Emma to track down a phone number for him!!
ReplyDeleteWHAT!?
And wouldn't it have been decent of Robin to at least phone Regina and tell her they were safe - BEFORE deleting her from hos phone.
UGH!
Where was a plot hole? I liked the twist on Zelena being Marian because finally they had planned a storyline for more than a half season.
ReplyDeleteNo I'm fine with RC he is a great actor.
ReplyDeleteAll the best from Serbia!
I did not believe Zelena was dead either but I did not forsee Zelena being Marian. She really is wicked. ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe he had a picture of Regina which he uploaded onto a new phone he bought.
ReplyDeletethank you :-)
ReplyDeleteThat scene in which he deletes the number got me riled up, too.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes poor Regina.
ReplyDeleteAnd Rumple is a coward.
ReplyDeleteAnd no matter what Robin does someone calls him an ass either because he cheats on his wife or because he doesn't. :D
Although they now have to explain why Belle did recognize him in 3x12. ;)
ReplyDeleteBeause villains (Ana) can't get their happy endings, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteI think its the other way around. The first look was desperation for the idea of loosing her true love. The second look was determination to stay strong against Rumple and not let him have his way and turn another pure soul into a monster.
ReplyDeleteZelena basically made Rumple promise to get her a happy ending too.
ReplyDeleteAna's different, she became the White Queen and Will became the White King
ReplyDeletehuh i hope so
ReplyDeleteYeah but that was while he was vulnerable in NYC. Now he uses Zelena's power over Regina to pull through his major plan.
ReplyDeleteYes, but if nine weeks ago he stopped answering her calls, she would need another way to contact him.
ReplyDeleteWe may have had this discussion before, but is this happening before Will's "happy ending" or after it? He was in Storybrook when the White Rabbit found him.
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode, a lot of surprises and i can't wait to see more. Interesting is that Robin's wife is dead after all. Zelena being alive is interesting, but not that good for me, she is one of those i hate characters that i don't like even when they are good.
ReplyDeleteRewatched the episode once more this morning.
ReplyDeleteThe show really has an issue in starting their stories/episodes.
It felt a bit to sterile and easy.
and destroyed "Beauty and the Beast/ Rumple-Bell" too
ReplyDeleteand when he has a plan again? yes, a deal is a deal...but sometimes perhaps you can twist/turn words (probably like" the deal we made in N.Y. and now we're in Storybrook". We know how clever Rumple/Gold is... look how he was could do without magic (Oxford Professor, manipulate Cruella and Ursula etc).
ReplyDeleteI only mention it, because I remember the BTS-photos from "Lily" or "Mother", where Regina holds Zelena and Zelena wears the cuff, which created Pan, wore Rumple, block magic. Either Regina, Belle, someone else steel from Rumple, or Rumple gave it to defraud Zelena.
watched again too :-)
ReplyDeleteZelena/Gold-scenes: priceless, both were so WOW
Oh, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I didn't defend Rumple. I just replied to your question what happens at the end of the hospital scene. ;)
ReplyDeleteAham. My mistake. Sorry. As I rewatched the episode already I wasn't even aware I posted a question earlier. ^_^
ReplyDeleteHe already used Zelena as a threat to persuade Regina and I think he will find a way to get out of deal without getting out of the deal. And yes, he always has it with words. When he was glamoured as Hook he made Belle say "Dark One face me". She could have said "show yourself" or "appear right in front of me" and his trick would have failed but instead he told her what to say so she wouldn't notice.
ReplyDeleteHonestly I don't remember the cuff. Did his father use a cuff to transform to Pan?
No problem. It happens with non-verbal communication. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have the same idea. Wonderworld happens somewhere between Once. And isn't Alice's wedding years after they defeat Jafar? I really don't know because I didn't watch all of it.
ReplyDeleteBut still she is in the column of villains. How is she different to Regina who became a hero?
ReplyDeletesorry my English, I hope you all understand what I write:
ReplyDeletecuff: no, Pan (Rumple's father) created it, gave it to Tamara.
ReplyDeleteYou do know, that before Marian/Zelena went through the portal, she was presumed dead for ~30 years. Marian rising from the dead didn't change the fact that Robin was a widower for a very long time and had had every right to move on with his life.
Howmany times are we going to see Robin "choose"? I love #OutlawQueen, but seriously. After having chosen Regina and saying that he needed to live an honest life and
ReplyDeletefollow his heart, he once again changes his mind. I think the writers are doing
Robin's character a disservice here. I'm sure he'll be back with Regina soon but
it weakens their love story that he, right after leaving Storybrooke, is sort
of wanting to be back in love with Marian - and even a fake one. I wonder how
they've lived for the nine weeks that have now past. I he happy with her or
does he find her to be a stranger?
I thought Marian was just presumed dead for a few years, given the young age of their son and the fact that he recognized his mom. The timeline is weird, but I don't think Robin was in Storybrooke during the first curse. And for all his talk of loving Marian, his treatment of her when she returned was pretty cold. So in a way they are using this to make Regina and Robin's pairing seem OK, which always seemed wrong to me, especially given that Marian was imprisoned (and presumably killed) by Regina)
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of Robin, so if it wasn't for Zelena, the episode would be boring for me. Although, I don't see the point in bringing her back - she wanted to steal Regina's happines and I guess she did it. Is she coming back?
ReplyDeletefound again.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.flickr.com/photos/110865913@N05/sets/72157650757393699/
check photos with Zelena, Hood and Regina, left hand...all photos, in one you can see isn't a shirt, is a cuff and I mean is the same as Rumple had to wear in S3/15
it won't agree but I'll ship CapSwanQueen forever anyway.
ReplyDeleteHere's how I see it.
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologize. I am no native speaker either. ;)
ReplyDeleteAh okay. I remember those shackles. They were used by Greg and Tamara to capture Regina and to bind Rumple. Nice that they make an appearance again. Although I am not sure if bringing Zelena back to Storybrook is a good idea. :D
Thank you. Now I remember they were cuffs no shuckles. Nice that you remembered such a detail. ;)
ReplyDeleteWatched again too!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Zelena!
Time was frozen in the EF too. I think it was Mulan who told Aurora that she was asleep for 28 years (2x01 or 2x02 ?).
ReplyDeleteRobin's treatment of Marian was strange.
A more slowly and uncomplicated development of their relationship would have been better but... well... it's a tv-show ;)
Worst plot twist ever! All magic ceases to exist when you the cross town line, therefore Zelena should not have magic either!
ReplyDeletefor me one of the best OUAT-scenes ever...crazy Zelena with fearful Gold, so well played
ReplyDeleteWoah, such a divisive episode! Didn't see it coming.
ReplyDeleteI understand that some people think the Zelena twist is a cop out, but I honestly can't see past how much fun the show is going to have with this! And Rebecca Madder is back! I honestly can't be mad at the show for doing that
you're welcome, thank you so much for your kind words.
ReplyDeleteReally no good idea to bring Zelena to Storybrooke, but according imdb she will play in "Mother" and "Operation Mongoose Par 2" again too.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long since OUAT in Wonderland I forgot she had a name.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that Zelena's back but the exucution of her return?!..... They must think we're all stupid?...... from TV.com's review of the ep :
ReplyDelete"first I think we all need to take a moment and
really appreciate what Once Upon a Time is trying to get away with here.
Maid Marian has always been Zelena? All the time she was in
Storybrooke, Maid Marian was Zelena in disguise, quietly moving in on
Robin Hood to spite Regina? So this was true when she told Regina that
Regina could have Robin Hood because she, Maid Marian, was moving on?
And this was true when she unwittingly ate some magicked ice cream that
turned her into an ice statue for the entire time Elsa was in town? And
this was also true when she first came to Storybrooke and immediately
recognized Roland, who Zelena had never seen before? Even if somehow we
could just accept all of this, we’re supposed to just nod along with the
idea that Zelena’s SENTIENT LIFE FORCE left her body and hovered around
Emma and Hook through space and time like a bad smell? No, honey, no.
Nuh-uh. Nice try, OUAT, but you need to show me some receipts when you
try to make such an extensive return. You can’t just ret-con half a
season and exchange an entire character with a color-changing necklace
and call it a day."
I'm sure the rest of the season will be awesome thanks to this twist but I just wish they would have done things differently.....
And it's now official, I went from liking Robin to just being indifferent to him and now, after this ep (and 4A), I just almost hate him....
lol, awesome review. Thanks!
ReplyDeletethat was a planned storyline? Yeah, sure just like Robin's tattoo and soulmate nonsense was planned from the moment he appeared on the show...
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you imagine them working on stories but a plan can be for a few episodes, a season or the plot of the entire show.
ReplyDeleteThis episode wasn't the best, for sure. But I don't really understand why the more extreme positions are voted in this poll.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the episode was overall good, it lacked some Storybrooke characters but I liked both NY and flashbacks scenes.
ReplyDeleteOK. My tolerance for Gold is finally gone. I kept holding on hoping he would do something, but he needs to be taken out. Seriously.
ReplyDeleteI know....and ultimately, it's about being entertained.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a huge OutlawQueen fan, but this episode has almost ruined it for me.
ReplyDeleteI know.
ReplyDeleteTrue ... Let's see wat mood he's in after the nine weeks. We haven't seen that yet. Maybe he's drinking in a bar ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo... once again we have a "Oz arc":
ReplyDelete■ Emma as Good Witch of the South
■ Regina as Good Witch of the North
■ Maleficent as Wicked Witch of the East
■ and Zelena as herself (Wicked Witch of the West)
About Episode.... MORE THAN AWESOME! I love those flashbacks in flashbacks. The way they brought back WWW was marvelous.
Actually, Roland recognize his mom first in s03e22. He shouted to her "mommy"?
ReplyDeleteYes. That last scene with a teary eyed Regina backed into a corner broke my heart a little ...
ReplyDeleteZelena don't have magick, but she have magic objects. Just like Regina used her engagment ring from Daniel, to bring back poisoned apple in s01e22, when there was no magic either.
ReplyDeleteShe will appear once agin in s04e20 "Mother" - May 03, 2015
ReplyDeleteand according IMDd on Operation Mongoose Part2 too
ReplyDeleteWhere was a plot hole?
ReplyDeleteMulan tolad Aurora that she slept "less than a year".
ReplyDeleteI rewatched the scene. What you said is what Aurora told Mulan but if you watch one more minute Mulan said "For 28 years we were frozen and than time started again"
ReplyDeleteYeah but didn't she screamed "Roland!"? (I think... I haven't rewatched the S3 final.... so how did she knew his name if that's the case?)
ReplyDeleteI loved the Robin Hood flashback scenes.
ReplyDeletePart of me understands and agrees with you about not knowing how things have gone with Robin over the nine weeks.
ReplyDeleteI would love if your theory about Robin being onto fake Marian is right.
ReplyDeleteSo let's hope you're right.
ReplyDeleteWhy does everyone forget they were living under the same roof in the castle in the EF for a year? Also Snow/Charming knew each other what, one day before they fell in love? Ariel & her beau; what a day? Only OQ has to explain themselves when in reality they've known each other longer that the rest of the couples on the show.
ReplyDeleteI sort of agree. But another poster just came up with a great theory which I so hope to be true, because that would fix everything ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat if Robin is onto fake Marian?
ReplyDeleteAfter I settled after the clusterfeck of Season 3B finale I called Marian being Zelena. It was just "too" convenient that her "essence" opened the portal & of all time for Emma/Hook to go back in time it was "the day" Evil Queen arrested Marian. Like really? And thus Regina's happiness being screwed with all of Season 4; thanks sis!
ReplyDeleteOr he thought abt it in the shower then used that line on "Marian" to test her & deleted # and is playing her right now.
ReplyDeleteDo they follow Adam on twitter? Because Adam already answered Roland calling Marian "mommy" because he was an infant when she died. Adam said he "heard stories about Marian and assumed she was his mommy from those stories"
ReplyDeleteWait; that is Lilly Sparks who wrote that.
ReplyDeleteExactly. that's my lingering question too
ReplyDeleteThis one episode made better use of Zelena (and had better material for the character) than her entire arc from her first stint on the show.
ReplyDeleteI used to read Spark's recaps because her comedic writing is really well done. :)
ReplyDeleteHmmm... That is an interesting theory. With all that is going on that might be true.
ReplyDeleteFrom s03e18, when Rumple got Regina's heart. Zelena could ask him how and Rumple told her about Robin's son, Roland.
ReplyDeleteHe broke my heart a little bit, too. I felt like a teenager when I yelled at the monitor "No way. you can't!" But he will probably have suffered for nine weeks. It was a pretty dumb thing to do but I hope he learned from his mistake.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you! I realy don't like her, I was happy when they killed her, and now this??? I just want her dead, but really dead!
ReplyDeleteThis was lame!
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid if he is out, a lot of viewers will be out too...
ReplyDeleteI love Zelena but the way she came back on the show was just awful.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great if this theory turned out to be true, but I guess I saw the way things played out in the episode differently. Right now I just don't have a lot of faith in Robin and his feelings. I'm going to wait until they show how things have layed out over the nine weeks. Hopefully the writers will restore my love for OutlawQueen.
ReplyDeleteI like your theory and the part of me that rooted for OutlawQueen kind of hopes your right.
ReplyDeleteI too was pretty confused about all of that so went back and watched 411 and sure enough, Marian did basically tell Robin and Regina to be together.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope so ...
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about this theory either - but it's possible.
ReplyDeleteThis was a bad idea to get back a good actress.
ReplyDeleteClue: if Zelena never dies then her curse on Hook never lifts and Emma never gets her powers back so she can not use the wand to come back to this realm and she is not a match for Ingrid or Elsa.
ReplyDeleteHOW THE HELL ZELENA WAS ABLE TO VANISH MARIAN WITHOUT HER PENDANT? GLINDA SAID THAT SHE'LL BE POWERLESS WITHOUT IT!
ReplyDeleteIn 3x22 her pendant activated the spell. With this new revelation it was probably her soul reclaiming her power sucking it out of the pendant. It makes more sense then the spell going off on its own.
ReplyDeleteBut when Zelena traveled back with them she could have just lifted the curse on Emma and Hook herself to make sure that they will return with her to Storybrook. Maybe it wasn't even Emma regaining her powers in Rumple's vault but Zelena giving them back to her.
ReplyDeleteI thought about it and needed conformation from someone else, like cat who need snuggles.
ReplyDeleteXOXO from PoznaĆ, Poland (central Europe).
ReplyDeleteWell its a theory but that is the only explanation I can think of. Hope it helped. ;)
ReplyDeleteObjects can be magical if they were before they entered the land with no magic. Like the scroll the Snow Queen had to enter Storybrook.
ReplyDeleteAnd I found the plot twist nice because now some things make more sense in regard to Marian.
ReplyDeleteBTW I think that the Charmings get attacked far more than Regina does on this boards....and sometimes the get attacked for the mildest of things. Regina, on the other hand, seems to be a favorite at this site, so this idea that "everyone" is giving Regina a hard time is way off.
OF COURSE! It's like... mind blown.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.picgifs.com/reaction-gifs/reaction-gifs/mind-blown/picgifs-mind-blown-1995183.gif
fair point! lol you do know your stuff :D even if I still find the "Marian was always Zelena" really "plot holy" far various reasons ;) I'm really not against this storyline but zelena remplacing Marian after 4x11 (just after she woke up) would have made way more sense :) and an other thing, how did Zelena knew in 3x22 that the lady Emma knocked out was Robin's wife ? because even Hook and Emma ignored that then?
ReplyDeleteI am not sure why you think it explains why Marian was brought back? Zelena only had the opportunity to get into Marian's body because Emma and Hook were bringing her back, and bringing her back was what forced Regina to want to rewrite her ending. She said in season 3 Villians don't get happy endings. Marion I believe was brought back to throw a wrench into Regina's happy ending and cause the whole theme of looking for the author.
ReplyDelete"how did Zelena knew in 3x22 that the lady Emma knocked out was Robin's wife?"
ReplyDeleteShe said to captain Hook in s03e17: My spies are always circling, Captain, through every realm... always circling.
Thank you, *blush*
Ahah I can't win :p
ReplyDeleteThis is why they invented the Author to use him as a giant erase all for plotholes and inconsistencies.
ReplyDeleteShe's baaack, she's baaack, she's baaack! That's all I have to say. XD Gosh, I adore Rebecca Madder and I am so happy that I was wrong to believe that they overhyped this episode with lame flashbacks. EPIC!
ReplyDeleteBtw - anyone has any theories as to how did she get ahold of that cloak thingy that Robin gave to Marian years ago?
A lot of people here on SpoilerTV called that as well; that she's been Marian all this time, but I don't think anyone actually had a substantial theory as to how in the hell she made it possible. Zelena is truly the mastermind. LONG LIVE THE WICKED WITCH!
ReplyDeleteOh boy...would I love to see that happen.
ReplyDeleteNow that you bring it up, it seems as though Gold is seriously becoming like the new Margaux of OUaT.
ReplyDeleteAnd you people think this made any sense? Come on. Zelena, a powerful witch pretending to be Hood's wife and frozen for half a season? Stupid plot twist.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to say it was because Neal was talking to him first and she read in between the lines (as she does so well... ha ha). And Neal knew him as he really looked, so that's good enough for me. I am so, so glad they found a way to cover the first part up at least. : )
ReplyDelete
