I honestly wasn't expecting to see Ward because the show was billing the episode as the full on SHIELD vs. SHIELD war. Didn't make sense to have Ward/Kara in there because there was already so much going on.
This episode was awesome. I freakin love May!! I hope Bobbi doesn't turn against Skye after what happened. And fitzsimmons better not help them! I have a feeling Bobbi is going to join the good guys (Coulson's shield) at some point... at least I hope so.
Jesus christ that was all around just incredible!!
The flashbacks to see how the other part of SHIELD were reacting to there being HYDRA moles were such a highlight and very movie quality like. It was really nice to see Isabelle again (still praying that she is alive somewhere) and just seeing her kick some more HYDRA ass really just made me miss her even more! And that scene with Isabelle, Robert, Bobbi, and Mack on a shootout with HYDRA was freaking amazing.
Ohhh Bobbi. I was really rooting for you to be a triple agent or something but this episode almost erased that theory for me. Still pulling for it though! That scene where Jemma used the EMP to shock Bobbi so she wouldn't run away was awesome! That's one way for Simmons to get back on my good graces again ;) And while that May vs. Bobbi fight was insanely great and much needed, nothing can top that May vs. Fake May fight in the beginning of the season. FitzSimmons holding hands when they were about to be captured made my heart melt. Even though they're going through some problems they still care about each other's safety and I just couldn't handle it.
Coulson leaving the Playground and going to paradise (with Lance!) is probably the best thing for him right now after all the chaos he just went through. He just needs to get his mind straight again and figure out his next move so he can hopefully take down OlmostSHIELD because I'm already getting tired of the organization and them thinking that what they're doing is the best way to go about things.
And Skye finally met Gordon!! Been waiting for this moment since the midseason premiere and it was awesome. I wonder if he'll tell Skye that her mother, Jiaying is the person who helped him cope with his Inhuman powers. That would be so sweet/emotional. And that epic scene where she stopped the gunshot and blasts Bobbi and Agent Calderon had me cheering but I felt so bad for Skye because she still doesn't know how to control her powers and it's all too much for her. Thank god Gordon came and saved the day. Hopefully she will find some needed help in the Inhuman house.
Can't wait for my most anticipated new character, Lincoln next week!
omg, AMAZING episode! Skye's powers at the end of the episode..omg kshdskjhdsdsj that was so awesome, i can't wait to see her back at the team knowing more about her powers..
and I loved the Skimmons Skype sessions <33
and simmons voicemail..awww
plus, Hunter and Coulson at the end..oh boy. I.CAN'T. WAIT for what's next!
That Fitzsimmons hand holding was everything !! Jemma totally redeemed herself but I'm scared for them they are stuck with real shield next episode damn
THAT WAS AWESOME! Skye's powers were amazing! GO GIRL, you are beautiful! Flashback were phenomenal, but there is more to the story, yeah. May was badass as always. I'm not yet trusting Gordon, even though he was Skye's mom protege. I'm not sure about SHIELD vs. OlmostSHIELD, because they both has flaws, but Coulson's side is still my side. Fiiiitz! Fitz and Simmons were awesome too! (And I left this commet first by mistake at next ep promo page, just ignore it, silly me xD)
Every show (ONCE, Revenge, Castle, Shield) I have watched this week on ABC have been on their A game. I hope Nashville finishes off my stellar ABC week tomorrow.
From the look Bobbi gave Skye it seems she thought she was wrong about her. Obviously Skye didn't know she was going to cause such a large area of "destruction" but from the other side they might not of known that. I'm ready to see Luke Mitchell as Lincoln now and learn more about the inhumans though. Not gonna lie Gordon and Skye had a pretty rad exit there. Best part is after next weeks awesome episode, we've then got Agent May's backstory coming up, so it's only going to get better :D
I do really hope Skye is reunited with the team very soon though, maybe at the end of the season :P
Yes that was a real gun (even though Bobbi said not to use real guns and use ICERS instead which kinda pisses me off). Agent Calderon was about to shoot Skye when Bobbi screamed to warn her. When Calderon fired the shot, Skye used her powers to block the bullet and send a shockwave towards Bobbi and Agent Calderon.
This episode was quite good. Everythign that went down in the cargo was intense, that guy Gonzalex is not a good leader, good that they took things on their own. That blast that Skye did at the end was perfect. Im glad that guy got a branch on his elbow. Bobbi was wesome tonight and Jemma knocking her out with those tiny things was amazing. Also Mack protecting itz nn a way he cares about teh guy as he cared about Tim. I hope Gordon helps Skye, iI trust him i just hope he is not a bad person who will want to take the world at the end.
Heck yea! Duck the Humans! Skye left with Gordon, so glad. Very nice display of her powers at the end, and that was only on a whim and for protection. Can't wait till she learns to control it.
Flashbacks were blah for me, cuz I didn't care about them. Basically Bobby failed the city!
Hope May can get at least Fitz to safety lol, yea I said it only Fitz, but if Simmons wants to come let her.
Let me guess now that Acevedo aka Tomas Calderon, got stabbed by a wood spike from Skye Blast wave, its gonna be find her no matter what she be dangerous. Go head and try.
Oh and they need to bring Ward back. Coulson and May are pretty out numbered right now, They got 1 Leader Coulson, 1 Mini Boss May, 1 Elite Hunter, 2 CC Fitz and Simmons, vs a whole bunch of Fake Shield ppl. And many of the people loyal to Coulson might join them back at the base.
I really liked this episode. My favorite scene was Skye using her powers. Awesome! I can't wait to see what she can do when she learns how to really use them. I liked her reaction to what she did to the water. It was the first time her powers made her smile.
I actually liked Bobbi in the flashbacks. It might be the most I've ever liked her to be honest. Too bad she's other SHIELD. Gonzales is a jerk. His attitude about Coulson makes me hope Fury shows up by the end of the season. I don't care for Agent Weaver either.
May was awesome. She does know how to make an entrance. I'm glad Hunter came back.
JEMMA CALLED FITZ "LEO"!!!!!!!!! LOL sorry just LOVED that so MUCH!!!! very mad at the episode, HATED that Skye went with Gordon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a lot to say about this episode because it was damn excellent, best of the season along with What They Became. Makes up for the lackluster episode last week.
I am so conflicted because I love both our gang and Bobbi/Mack/Hartley/Papa!Adama.
After this episode I can really understand Gonzales and his SHIELD point of view. My eventual hope is both fractions team together for the greater good.
Lets talk about the many badass moments of this episode
+ Bobbi's entrance at the start of the episode + Jemma getting one over on Bobbi + The Bobbi and May fight + Pretty much everything May did in this episode + Hunter at the end + Hartley and her knife and all the badassery on display in the flashbacks + Skye, oh my god her powers unleashed at the end. Damn.
Lets talk about the other moments that I loved
+ FitzSimmons holding hands + Gordon's entire scene in the cabin + BRUCE BANNER REFERENCE + Skye moving the water + Everything OK, I loved everything.
Other speculation, I wonder if Mack and Tim were an item, I've been pondering for a while that Mack might be gay. Will we see the 'enhanced' that was unleashed at the Academy? Why do we have to wait another week for the next episode and 2 weeks for the May centric episode? Life ain't fair.
Yeah, I loved it when Skye smiled after her powers affected the water. I wonder if her newfound precision was because of Simmons' gloves, and like some people believe, they're actually going to help channel her powers instead of inhibiting them? Anyway, it looks like her conversation with Gordon moved Skye one step closer to accepting her new self and that's great.
The problem is that they are giant hypocrites. They talk about being open, but they just betrayed a group of Shield agents instead. They talk about lives which nearly had been lost, but they were ready to kill Skye on the spot, despite her being one of their own. They are becoming an "anti-alien hate group" and don't even notice because they are so convinced of themselves.
You know an episode is good when you get to the end and go, "Wait, it's over already?" So much goodness packed into 45 minutes. I won't repeat everything that's already been said, but suffice it to say I loved every single thing about this episode. The final scene with Coulson and Hunter had me smiling especially big. I think Hunter's my favorite of the new characters. :) Can't wait to see Skye meet the rest of the Inhumans!
Calderon is the only one who wanted to kill Skye, though. Gonzales only wanted her captured and Bobbi instructed her team to use ICERs. Not saying I like or agree with Olmost SHIELD, but I don't consider them evil.
I think ultimately though what the MCU as a whole is trying to say is that organisations are by their nature corrupt, that even the people with the greatest intentions are simply unable to function in the changing world of the MCU and that no one is equipped to deal with aliens, killer robots, Norse Gods with their alien armies.
This is all going to collide in Civil War next year but from what we know of Age of Ultron, Tony Stark creates Ultron as a peacekeeping programme. This fails in a big way. So if SHIELD have failed in the past, if AI peacekeeping programmes can't work, if the Avengers themselves are struggling to deal with all the threats, then who should?
Should it be done on an individual basis, like the upcoming Daredevil where Matt is just trying to keep his part of NYC safe, should the world government get involved (even though governments abuse their power all the time). Should SHIELD formally be reinstated? How does a world handle things like this?
So really for me it is not a question of whether Coulson's SHIELD is right or the Real SHIELD is right, I don't think either of them are right because spy organisations rarely are. I don't think there is any simply answer in the universe of the MCU and I think they are constantly going to be dealing with this problem as more heroes and villains with powers emerge.
And then of course what happens in 2018? Infinity Wars, where maybe the entire question of who should be in charge, how they should handle things doesn't even matter because Thanos is hellbent on destroying everyone and everything, those with powers and those without. Everyone has to fight then, everyone has to join together.
Anyway sorry for that very long answer, I think about the MCU a little too much.
There isn't enough adjectives to describe how incredible this episode was. My favorite of both seasons so far without a doubt.
Specially the final scene with Skye stoping the bullet and blowing up the tree, plus she's become a mini May, loved that hand to hand fight with that agent.
Also, I still have faith in Bobbi. I'll keep thinking she's not really into this "real SHIELD" as much as they want us to believe until she hurts someone on the team. I believe in you Mockingbird!
And like Coulson said, nice entrance May, you've got style.
Gordon has been just in a couple of scenes in like 3 episodes, but I already really, really like him. He could be a good mentor for Skye. He was very wise when he talked to her.
I find that Gonzales dude a little hypocrite. When May shoot him with the icer I was so happy. They better get rid of him soon, I kinda of hate him. And the lady from the academy too. And Mack. Yeah... Not a big fan of those three.
Holy sh**. THAT. WAS. INCREDIBLE. I'm speechless. My highlights were definitely Skye's conversation with Gordon, Skye using her power (and her training) to defend herself, Simmons taking out Bobbi (that was so great I forgot her recent annoying attitude for a moment) and Coulson & Hunter not sharing the same preference for umbrellas in drinks (LOL). The only thing I missed badly was Ward. AoS is not AoS without him (ditto for the other core members).
I don't even think that actually watching. They just see that it's a poll about AOS and they automatically vote against it. Illogical hatred is destructive.I think that was one of this episode's plot points. Fabulous episode.
That got me curious as well. She was able to do that because of the gloves or because of her starting to accept her powers after her talk with Gordon? i didn't understand what exactly the glove did to her. I thought they were only supposed to help her heal and possible giving her bad side effects.
Yeah, and not one but two people in said team ignored that order. And Calderon wasn't really bothered by what they would use at all, that was all Bobbi
Calderon isn't dead is he? he looked injured but certainly not dead. As for Bobbi turning, i don't see that happening. They made a great effort on this episode to show her true good intentions and we know by the comics Mockingbird was always a good agent they wouldn't want to ruin any of that development putting the character and the actress on the hate bandwagon on the show. I saw some really unreasonable hate towards Bobbi before this episode because of her association with the other Shield. She saw Calderon was going to kill Skye. I think she will change her mind but to join Coulson side instead.
What an amazing episode. This series really needs more epsiode like this one. Most of them are ok or good but this one was incredible. Best of the season so far. Hopefully more like this one will come.
The flashbacks scenes were good. It was nice to see a little bit of the day SHIELD fell beside the Coulson's team angle. Too bad Izzy is dead. She was a great character.
Simmons pulling a up hand on Bobbi was a highlight. She fooled me easily.
May was all bad ass as usual
They clearly made a great effort to show Bobbi's good intentions and i'm relieved they did that. I was worried they would made her sound like a villain and didn't care. She is on the other side but i get the feeling she won't be for very long. I think she will try her best to protect Coulson's team members, including Skye that will probably get a giant target on her back after what she did.
Skye on the creepy Bruce Banner cabin was awesome. I loved how Gordon showed up, talked, joked like it's not big deal. I can't wait to Skye meet the inhumans. The best of episode was definetly seeing her using her powers. The water scene was great. I think that was the first time she smiled in a very long time. Her fight scene was also excelent and she taking down the forrrest was just wow, no words. This is just the beginning. From now on she will be learning to use her powers so i expect a lot more great scenes like that one.
I certainly hope so, because I'm sick of the Bobbi hate. Actually, Simmons, Mack and Bobbi have all been getting bucketloads of hate these past few weeks and it's really tiresome. Why are most people so simple-minded that everyone has to be either a full-out hero or a despicable villain in their eyes? Both of these storylines (the Inhumans and Olmost SHIELD) are all about nuance and shades of grey, but most would rather just see Coulson and crew fighting one-dimensional baddies, apparently.
What a great episode, it hit all the notes! Chloe Bennet was great as usual and so was Palicki. It was great to see Lucy Lawless kicking some ass after how disappointing was to seeing her character die on the premiere.
Upon rewatch, I did catch the fact that the agent who tussled with Skye had a real gun, not an ICER, so I guess there are a lot of people with Calderon's militant attitude in Olmost SHIELD.
This was a great episode! The story telling and nuance firing on all cylinders.
I totally get Gonzales and the extent of mistrust he feels for everything, thanks in part to his disagreeing with many of the secrets that Fury was keeping as it relates to enhanced and/or alien technology. Part of him likely believes that its distractions like the Avengers initiative that contributed to SHIELD being infiltrated by HYDRA to such an extent. Now I'm not saying that I totally agree with that but I get it.
As much as Coulson is so very close with his direct team: they're family to him. Gonzales would clearly be as close to his. The events on the ship during the fall show this. The extent to which they supported each other to ultimately not sacrifice all of the lives on the ship, and to take it back: which they did. Two teams: Coulson's and Gonzales', dedicated to each other and to the greater cause that is SHIELD. This is a Civil War.
Finally, the fact that Isabelle (Lucy Lawless) was so instrumental to the recapture of the ship means that she was firmly in Gonzales' corner from the start. When we saw her in the season premier acting as a private mercenary brought on by Coulson to help means that she was under cover working for Gonzales from the start. The fact that she died because of Coulson's obsession with the Diviner (known only as Object 0-8-4 at the time) will drive the resentment further.
I wondered about that too. I think it might of been the gloves. They made a point of showing Skye wearing them, but didn't say what the side effects might be.
I couldn't tell from the look Bobbi gave. I took it as she was looking around thinking 'oh sh!t' but it was hard to read regarding Skye. Hopefully she still defends Skye. I seriously can't wait to learn more about the inhumans and luke Mitchell is always a +. And yes at Mays back story!! There are so many things to be excited about with show!
It's small details that get overlooked on shows especially regarding powers. Technically she wouldn't be able to fight with so many uncured fractures but she did. She went from clearly pain by putting the gloves to fighting like a pro against the agent.
small details? we had slowmotion of one of the trees being broken into small pieces, and all the trees behind them were uprooted but those two are in one piece?
Maybe is not a small detail but if you start picking up everything that doesn't make sense on spy and super heroes shows then you wouldn't have half of you get or a show for that matter. They clearly wanted to add effect to her powers and make the scene look cooler. I don't see it as a big deal because shows, movies and comicbooks have too many unrealistic things on it anyway. Yeah, their bones should have broken but since when super hero stuff go with logic?
You must have read my mind! I immediately thought "Damn, that place looks a hella lot like the REAL Tahiti". I doubt it actually was but it would be so cool. Speaking of, I absolutely LOVED that tag scene. I smiled so hard when Lance came out and said "I'll have what he's having with a couple of those little umbrellas" XD and him signing his signature on the napkin and considering it as his contract for the position was the icing on the cake! God, I love Lance and him teaming up with just Coulson is going to be great.
It looks like without the gloves her powers are a lot less refined, basically a large blunt force. With the gloves it seemed she had far greater control. BUT, it could be all crap and it turns out it wasn't due to the gloves at all.
It looked to me like the branch went into his chest/stomach, but it was admittedly dark (and even if I'm right about that, I might have been too quick to assume he's dead).
I can definitely see what Lucy Lawless meant in that interview before the beginning of the season, when saying that Nick Blood is going to set a lot of hearts aflutter. :)
On a single episode level it was excellent. Loved the action scenes, Skye's plot, Bobby's obvious "I know I'm right, but I want you to this way too" emotional conflicts, May's rock solid trust, etc.
On the mythology level however I'm confused, to say the least. The "Real SHIELD" (RS) is an excellent plot idea - choosing between good and evil is usually easy, choosing between two, seemingly right paths, which however mutually exclude each other is an interesting storyline.
But there comes the mythology: Where were they before? How does it come that nobody has any idea about their existence? - They believe Fury dead, yet they knew Coulson has got the toolbox from him - this happened well after his presumed death. - They saved a complete helicarrier on Hydra-day (I assume this one is the same which we saw in the last week episode), yet nobody has known anything about it. Coulson's team remained in the chain of command after that day, how it comes that something this significant (and truely heroic) didn't reach them? - How comes that such a huge force and technique has not been spotted by Talbot and his team? - The obvious discrepancy between the "shame on Fury for his secrets" / transparent working and lurking in the shadow, hiding even the existence form everybody is just a moral icing on the cake. (And I hope they will address it, because otherwise this huge secrecy is simply bad plot development - powerful enemy out of the blue.)
I hope that there will be convincing answers to these questions. I don't deny, that my concerns may be premature, but at this point the whole background story of the RS looks very forced.
To my understanding, Skye doesn't emit shock waves (although that's what the effect looked like), she causes things to rattle themselves apart. In this case, she did it to the trees around them, and Bobbi & Calderon were knocked backwards from the tree exploding.
That would at least fit with the comics, But she also had not worn the gloves as she bent the water. I think she will need the gloves at the beginning to better control her power but will learn to control them also without them. And as Gordon said, her abilities will be magnificient (far more than in the comics)!
I've always wondered if Mack is gay ever since the episode earlier in the season where Fitz, Lance and Mack discuss exes. Mack never specifically said she or her and its left me wondering. It would be great if AOS did get a LGBT character. Of course it could just be that Mack is a fiercely loyal friend and Tim's death hugely effected him and now he wants to protect Fitz despite them working on opposite sides.
This episode was AMAZING. Like really seriously awesome. I've already watched it twice and am on my way to watch it another time. Now highlights of the show: Skye using her powers. I mean it was so awesome to see her control the water that way. I think it may be the first time she actually controlled them even if for a minute. And what about that last scene? Wow. Did anyone notice that when Skye saw a gun pointed at her instead of responding by shooting first she IMMEDIATELY THREW HER GUN AWAY AND RAISED HER HANDS. Whether she was aware of it or not, Skye resorted to her powers to keep her safe. This might just be me reading too much into it but Skye throwing away the gun represented her throwing away her status as a SHIELD agent and her raising her hands represented her embracing herself. Now lets talk about OLMOST SHIELD vs SHIELD. I can see where the confusion comes from. People on OLMOST SHIELD probably thought that Coulson was doing nothing and randomly took control while Coulson's SHIELD thought that OLMOST SHIELD were just sitting around. In reality Coulson's SHIELD was busy taking out HYDRA and the big head while OLMOST SHIELD was busy saving everyone. This situation is sorta like the Greek camp and the Roman camp in Percy Jackson. Both thinks the other didnt do anything to stop the baddie while they both had a hand in stopping their enemy. Now I'm derailing. Anyways it was a fantastic episode and I really can't wait until next Tuesday.
Just watched it, that's definitely my favourite episode so far. I really loved every moment of it! I hope they keep up that quality, shame it wasn't like this from the start.
What obession? Coulson didn't even know it had writing matching his cravings until after the mission. She died because they found out Hydra wanted it, that was all their information they had when they planned the op.
It was clear from his comments with Bobbi that he never had any intention of letting Skye live. If Gonzales and the rest agreed with him without telling Bobbi that could be the start of her reconsidering her view. It was clear that Bobbi atleast didn't want to hurt Skye.
We don't know entirely what Gonzales view on Skye is though. The question might be did he and the rest agree without talking to Bobbi about it, or next episode will he back Calderon's actions. It's clear that Calderon never intended to capture Skye though
And the agent that Skye took down was carrying a real gun as well. I wonder was that a decision that was already made and they just didn't tell Bobbi because they knew she'd disagree?
My guess is that it was already planned that they weren't going to use ICERS and so when Bobbi said not to use real guns, they weren't going to listen to her and just go ahead with the plan of shooting Skye whatever it takes.
Agreed, th others certainly don't seem willing to listen to Bobbi's views on Skye. I wonder if that might drive a wedge between them? Particularly if they shift harder on the position next week in light of her usage of the powers. I wonder if they will tell May, Fitz and Simmons and what their reaction will be as well?
Freaking Awesome!! Gordon is my favourite side character at present. Definitely my favourite episode of the season so far. The scene with skye using her powers was epic I cannot wait to see more of that. I am excited to see May's flashbacks next week :)
First of all, I'm not saying that Coulson had an obsession, Gonzales believes he does. He has as much said that Couslon has been too focuses on the alien writing and its aspects that he's not thinking straight. The 0-8-4 turned out to be alien, and it killed Isabelle. He resents Coulson for that.
it seems like the other 'shield' started with good enough intentions but it evolved into a very specific united front against people with superpowers which is WRONGWRONGWRONG on so many levels. ps both scenes with skye using her powers (water and at the end) were awesome!
Personally the storyline is coming off a bit off-putting to me because they have Bobbi betray everyone. It doesn't sit very right to me. I am able to appreciate the storyline, yes, but it detracts from my enjoyment because I loved the character and she was one of my favorite parts about Season 2A and even as viewer I feel... "betrayed" if that makes sense? Like, they made me fall in love with someone who I thought was a certain type of character for them be proven not to be. I realize this is great story telling and all but I preferred the way they did with Ward in which they made him purposely bland before the betrayal. I feel like there is a huge logic gap in all this which is that all these people should have spoken about their views and at least give Coulson a chance to explain himself and maybe even agree with them. To go on the offensive like this and waste resources on internal battles when Hydra is still very much out there seems strange to me and I do not know why Bobbi wouldn't see it like that.
No need to be sorry, I love discussing this show! And I think your analysis is largely spot-on. I get annoyed with people when they just say things like "Bobbi and Mack are traitors, they suck and need to die". Not thoughtful comments like yours. All opinions are fine, I just feel like a lot of viewers over-simplify things, which in turn drives complaints like the Olmost SHIELD storyline being stupid. AoS is clearly in a very grey area right now, and while I'm not saying everything about the storyline works, it's frustrating that some are against it simply because of its moral ambiguity.
The big problem with this arc is, indeed, not Olmost SHIELD's philosophy by their actions. We still haven't been given a proper explanation for why they went in guns (well, ICERs) blazing instead of at least trying to talk to Coulson and bring up their reservations about his authority and decision-making. However concerned they were abbout about the effects of the alien blood on him, I don't see that they had any reason to believe he was SO dangerous and unstable that he couldn't be reasoned with. So yes, that aspect definitely makes them - including Bobbi - look like a bunch of a-holes. However, I haven't been turned off her just yet because I do think she believes she's doing the right thing, she's just highly misguided. The next few episodes will be critical for Bobbi's character and hopefully we see her stand up to Gonzales' aggressive methods of hunting Skye down, which she's already begun to do, sorta. It will definitely be VERY hard for her to win the team's trust back, but unlike Ward, I think she could do it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Okay, this episode did make up for last week's mess and I loved it (but bitter Ward didn't show up at all and Lance only did at the end).
ReplyDeleteSkye's powers are amazing but I don't trust Gordon at all.
what happen in this episode......whose side is Bobbi on.....
ReplyDeleteI honestly wasn't expecting to see Ward because the show was billing the episode as the full on SHIELD vs. SHIELD war. Didn't make sense to have Ward/Kara in there because there was already so much going on.
ReplyDeleteGordon has probably been the most forthcoming person she has met since she joined SHIELD.
ReplyDeleteI figured he wasn't going to be in it either because a lot of other shit was going down but LOL, still bitter about it.
ReplyDeleteidk Id trust him over any member of SHIELD presently, at least where Skye is concerned anyway.
ReplyDeleteThis episode was awesome. I freakin love May!! I hope Bobbi doesn't turn against Skye after what happened. And fitzsimmons better not help them!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling Bobbi is going to join the good guys (Coulson's shield) at some point... at least I hope so.
did Coulson team get capture? please give me anything
ReplyDeleteAll matter vibrates...and she can control that? The implications are staggering.
ReplyDeleteSome...
ReplyDeleteJesus christ that was all around just incredible!!

Coulson leaving the Playground and going to paradise (with Lance!) is probably the best thing for him right now after all the chaos he just went through. And Skye finally met Gordon!! Been waiting for this moment since the midseason premiere and it was awesome. I wonder if he'll tell Skye that her mother, Jiaying is the person who helped him cope with his Inhuman powers. That would be so sweet/emotional. Can't wait for my most anticipated new character, Lincoln next week!
omg, AMAZING episode! Skye's powers at the end of the episode..omg kshdskjhdsdsj that was so awesome, i can't wait to see her back at the team knowing more about her powers..

ReplyDeleteWait when the guy shot at skye was it a real gun and that's why Bobbi screamed her name, or was it because Skye was about to kill that agent
ReplyDeleteTHAT WAS AWESOME! Skye's powers were amazing! GO GIRL, you are beautiful! Flashback were phenomenal, but there is more to the story, yeah. May was badass as always. Best part is after next weeks awesome episode, we've then got Agent May's backstory coming up, so it's only going to get better :D
ReplyDeleteI do really hope Skye is reunited with the team very soon though, maybe at the end of the season :P
ReplyDeleteGreat episode the best since a few weeks ago. Looking forward to the fallout for this one.
ReplyDeleteThis episode was quite good. Everythign that went down in the cargo was intense, that guy Gonzalex is not a good leader, good that they took things on their own.
ReplyDeleteThat blast that Skye did at the end was perfect.
ReplyDeleteVery nice display of her powers at the end, and that was only on a whim and for protection.
So much you can do with her abilities. I've seen some characters with same gift use it well and some use it epic-ly. Hope she uses it Epic-ly.
ReplyDeleteAmazing episode and Skye at the, wow, just wow.
ReplyDeleteYes it was, they confirmed it during the ep :P
ReplyDeleteAhhh, guess I didn't catch it when they said it the first time around. Looks like I'm gonna rewatch the episode. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI really liked this episode. My favorite scene was Skye using her powers. Awesome! I can't wait to see what she can do when she learns how to really use them. I liked her reaction to what she did to the water. It was the first time her powers made her smile.
ReplyDeleteI actually liked Bobbi in the flashbacks.
I like Gordon. I hope he can be trusted.
JEMMA CALLED FITZ "LEO"!!!!!!!!! LOL sorry just LOVED that so MUCH!!!! very mad at the episode, HATED that Skye went with Gordon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot to say about this episode because it was damn excellent, best of the season along with What They Became. Makes up for the lackluster episode last week.
ReplyDeleteI am so conflicted because I love both our gang and Bobbi/Mack/Hartley/Papa!Adama.
After this episode I can really understand Gonzales and his SHIELD point of view. My eventual hope is both fractions team together for the greater good.
Lets talk about the many badass moments of this episode
+ Bobbi's entrance at the start of the episode
+ Jemma getting one over on Bobbi
+ The Bobbi and May fight
+ Pretty much everything May did in this episode
+ Hunter at the end
+ Hartley and her knife and all the badassery on display in the flashbacks
+ Skye, oh my god her powers unleashed at the end. Damn.
Lets talk about the other moments that I loved
+ FitzSimmons holding hands
+ Gordon's entire scene in the cabin
+ BRUCE BANNER REFERENCE
+ Skye moving the water
+ Everything OK, I loved everything.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and since the Ward/Kara plot has yet to be tied into the main arc, having them there would've really interrupted the flow of an awesome episode.
ReplyDeleteEveryone who didn't give this episode at least a good must hatewatch at this point. That was a great episode.
ReplyDeleteThe thought crossed my mind. I doubt the real Tahiti is any more magical than the imaginary one though.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that they are giant hypocrites. They talk about being open, but they just betrayed a group of Shield agents instead. They talk about lives which nearly had been lost, but they were ready to kill Skye on the spot, despite her being one of their own. They are becoming an "anti-alien hate group" and don't even notice because they are so convinced of themselves.
ReplyDeleteYou know an episode is good when you get to the end and go, "Wait, it's over already?" So much goodness packed into 45 minutes. I won't repeat everything that's already been said, but suffice it to say I loved every single thing about this episode. The final scene with Coulson and Hunter had me smiling especially big. I think Hunter's my favorite of the new characters. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see Skye meet the rest of the Inhumans!
Exactly. And I loved it when Coulson called Gonzales out on it.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree.
ReplyDeleteBut hey, Coulson ended up deciding that the magical Tahiti sucked.
ReplyDeleteCalderon is the only one who wanted to kill Skye, though. Gonzales only wanted her captured and Bobbi instructed her team to use ICERs. Not saying I like or agree with Olmost SHIELD, but I don't consider them evil.
ReplyDeleteI think ultimately though what the MCU as a whole is trying to say is that organisations are by their nature corrupt, that even the people with the greatest intentions are simply unable to function in the changing world of the MCU and that no one is equipped to deal with aliens, killer robots, Norse Gods with their alien armies.
ReplyDeleteThis is all going to collide in Civil War next year but from what we know of Age of Ultron, Tony Stark creates Ultron as a peacekeeping programme.
ReplyDeleteSpecially the final scene with Skye stoping the bullet and blowing up the tree, plus she's become a mini May, loved that hand to hand fight with that agent.
I just loved it.
Holy sh**. THAT. WAS. INCREDIBLE. I'm speechless.
ReplyDeleteMy highlights were definitely Skye's conversation with Gordon, Skye using her power (and her training) to defend herself, Simmons taking out Bobbi (that was so great I forgot her recent annoying attitude for a moment) and Coulson & Hunter not sharing the same preference for umbrellas in drinks (LOL).
ReplyDeleteThat got me curious as well. She was able to do that because of the gloves or because of her starting to accept her powers after her talk with Gordon? i didn't understand what exactly the glove did to her. I thought they were only supposed to help her heal and possible giving her bad side effects.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and not one but two people in said team ignored that order. And Calderon wasn't really bothered by what they would use at all, that was all Bobbi
ReplyDeleteCalderon isn't dead is he? he looked injured but certainly not dead.
ReplyDeleteAs for Bobbi turning, i don't see that happening.
ReplyDeleteThe flashbacks scenes were good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great episode, it hit all the notes! Chloe Bennet was great as usual and so was Palicki. It was great to see Lucy Lawless kicking some ass after how disappointing was to seeing her character die on the premiere.
ReplyDeleteUpon rewatch, I did catch the fact that the agent who tussled with Skye had a real gun, not an ICER, so I guess there are a lot of people with Calderon's militant attitude in Olmost SHIELD.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great episode! The story telling and nuance firing on all cylinders.
ReplyDeleteI totally get Gonzales and the extent of mistrust he feels for everything, thanks in part to his disagreeing with many of the secrets that Fury was keeping as it relates to enhanced and/or alien technology.
Great stuff, Nuff Said!
We didn't really see Calderon die.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's an assumption on my part but upon reflection, I realized his fate was left up in the air.
ReplyDeleteI wondered about that too. I think it might of been the gloves. They made a point of showing Skye wearing them, but didn't say what the side effects might be.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, as Skye protected herself she had not worn the gloves.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't tell from the look Bobbi gave. I took it as she was looking around thinking 'oh sh!t' but it was hard to read regarding Skye. Hopefully she still defends Skye.
ReplyDeleteI seriously can't wait to learn more about the inhumans and luke Mitchell is always a +.
ReplyDeletesmall details? we had slowmotion of one of the trees being broken into small pieces, and all the trees behind them were uprooted but those two are in one piece?
ReplyDeleteMaybe is not a small detail but if you start picking up everything that doesn't make sense on spy and super heroes shows then you wouldn't have half of you get or a show for that matter. They clearly wanted to add effect to her powers and make the scene look cooler. I don't see it as a big deal because shows, movies and comicbooks have too many unrealistic things on it anyway. Yeah, their bones should have broken but since when super hero stuff go with logic?
ReplyDeleteI thought Calderon was stabbed in the arm, do you for sure he died?
ReplyDeleteYou must have read my mind!
ReplyDeleteLoved the scene in which Jemma,of all people, took down the mighty Bobbi with a little techno trickery.
ReplyDeleteProbably, but until we see this for sure, so far only two members seem kill-happy.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like without the gloves her powers are a lot less refined, basically a large blunt force. With the gloves it seemed she had far greater control.
ReplyDeleteBUT, it could be all crap and it turns out it wasn't due to the gloves at all.
It looked to me like the branch went into his chest/stomach, but it was admittedly dark (and even if I'm right about that, I might have been too quick to assume he's dead).
ReplyDeleteI can definitely see what Lucy Lawless meant in that interview before the beginning of the season, when saying that Nick Blood is going to set a lot of hearts aflutter. :)
ReplyDeleteI have very mixed opinion about this episode.
ReplyDeleteOn a single episode level it was excellent.
ReplyDeleteI just rewatched the scene, and it was the shoulder. They will probably still use it as a reason to hunt Skye (like you said before).
ReplyDeleteThat would at least fit with the comics, But she also had not worn the gloves as she bent the water. I think she will need the gloves at the beginning to better control her power but will learn to control them also without them. And as Gordon said, her abilities will be magnificient (far more than in the comics)!
ReplyDeleteI thought she was wearing the gloves when she did that. Only just remembered it was after she removed them.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing about Mack and Tim. I think it's a possibility but maybe we're reading too much into it.
ReplyDeleteI totally cheered when Simmons took out Bobbi. It was some nice character development about her being a crappy liar.
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered if Mack is gay ever since the episode earlier in the season where Fitz, Lance and Mack discuss exes. Mack never specifically said she or her and its left me wondering. It would be great if AOS did get a LGBT character. Of course it could just be that Mack is a fiercely loyal friend and Tim's death hugely effected him and now he wants to protect Fitz despite them working on opposite sides.
ReplyDeleteThis episode was AMAZING.
ReplyDeleteNow lets talk about OLMOST SHIELD vs SHIELD.
ReplyDeleteWhat obession? Coulson didn't even know it had writing matching his cravings until after the mission. She died because they found out Hydra wanted it, that was all their information they had when they planned the op.
ReplyDeleteIt was clear from his comments with Bobbi that he never had any intention of letting Skye live. If Gonzales and the rest agreed with him without telling Bobbi that could be the start of her reconsidering her view. It was clear that Bobbi atleast didn't want to hurt Skye.
ReplyDeleteWe don't know entirely what Gonzales view on Skye is though. The question might be did he and the rest agree without talking to Bobbi about it, or next episode will he back Calderon's actions. It's clear that Calderon never intended to capture Skye though
ReplyDeleteAnd the agent that Skye took down was carrying a real gun as well. I wonder was that a decision that was already made and they just didn't tell Bobbi because they knew she'd disagree?
ReplyDeleteMy guess is that it was already planned that they weren't going to use ICERS and so when Bobbi said not to use real guns, they weren't going to listen to her and just go ahead with the plan of shooting Skye whatever it takes.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, th others certainly don't seem willing to listen to Bobbi's views on Skye. I wonder if that might drive a wedge between them? Particularly if they shift harder on the position next week in light of her usage of the powers. I wonder if they will tell May, Fitz and Simmons and what their reaction will be as well?
ReplyDeleteAdrenaline is everyone's best friend
ReplyDeleteFreaking Awesome!! Gordon is my favourite side character at present. Definitely my favourite episode of the season so far. The scene with skye using her powers was epic I cannot wait to see more of that. I am excited to see May's flashbacks next week :)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I'm not saying that Coulson had an obsession, Gonzales believes he does. He has as much said that Couslon has been too focuses on the alien writing and its aspects that he's not thinking straight. The 0-8-4 turned out to be alien, and it killed Isabelle. He resents Coulson for that.
ReplyDeleteThe May flashback episode is in 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteit seems like the other 'shield' started with good enough intentions but it evolved into a very specific united front against people with superpowers which is WRONGWRONGWRONG on so many levels.
ReplyDeleteps both scenes with skye using her powers (water and at the end) were awesome!
I love how this week's episode tied up stuff from the Hydra invasion arc from last season nicely.
ReplyDeleteif the dude's heart didn't get stabbed, I'm sure he'll survive as long as he's given immediate medical attention to avoid dying from blood loss.
ReplyDeletePersonally the storyline is coming off a bit off-putting to me because they have Bobbi betray everyone.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the rant.
ReplyDeleteThe big problem with this arc is, indeed, not Olmost SHIELD's philosophy by their actions.
Didn't Gordan say that she could just tap into that, not that she could control it?
ReplyDeletewell...her little water trick shows she can control it. So i think he meant control.
ReplyDelete
