I thought it was a great premiere that focused not only on mustaches, but also on change or lack thereof. Lives un-lived seemed to be the big theme, and it was brilliantly handled. Jon Hamm, you are due for an Emmy.

Fantastic, fantastic episode. Easily reminded me why Mad Men is the greatest show on TV... the characters, the stories, the dialog, the attention to detail... it's just freaking amazing. I'm gonna miss it so much in a couple of weeks. Loved them getting Maggie Siff back for that brief appearance and how much her death affected Don. I hope we see more Ken but if that was his send-off, I'm pretty happy. It was great to see Pete actually be happy for him and his writing (remember in season 1 when Peter basically scolded Trudy for not sleeping with a man to get his story published? He was so jealous of Ken.. he's grown so much.)
Is there a plan in the making for a spin off about Roger's glorious mustache? He made me think about John and Sherlock's season 3 premiere.
Seeing Maggie Siff hurts me more than I can tell.
"When someone dies, things get mixed up." I wonder if Don's mind is dealing with more than Rachel's death. This show has a way of revealing my innermost thoughts and fears without sharing a connection with the characters. That's when you know a show has good writing. Themes are universal. I'm not ready to go on this final journey in these last remaining episodes. I'm not ready.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Great start to the final season. Ken's novel will be Mad Men and a little meta.
