After nearly seventeen years, I thought I wouldn't see anything totally new to SVU. But a guy basically getting off to the photos and details the rape and murder he committed- in the middle of court during his own trial? Congrats, writers; if you need me, I'll be off pulling a Penelope Garcia and watching YouTube videos of baby animals.
I do have to say, though, that if you're going to kill off a character, even a minor one, at least have the dignity to do it in the show's set time slot. (Though apparently the time slots were switched around with for this crossover week. Necessary for the plot, I guess, but awkward otherwise.)
This crossover even was really amazing. My only issue is that Dallas Robert's character shares way too many parallels with Lewis...especially that he decided to represent himself and how he taunted every single witness. Other than that, this was really well done.
I loved the crossover and felt like it was a real crossover. All actors did a great job, the writers outdid themselves this time. But I do have to complain, I loved Nadia and felt she was never utilized to her best abilities and am sad she left the show in such a violent horrible death. We never really did find out what the motive was for him to do all these
Ops wrong button...we never did get a motive for the killings...at least nothing clear. I hope Voight finally understands that letting someone rot in prison is actually punishment. A man like Yates will eventfully be killed in prison for the his solve crimes he committed, most criminals still have some amount of honor but not all.
The bastards killed Nadia. I am not pleased. She was a sweet girl who had turned her life around and had big dreams. I hate how the writers have to keep killing off characters to give other characters grieving storylines.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I love the whole thing.. especially the end when they got him to go all crazy and convince the jury. Love the crossovers, more are welcome.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion they went way too far with how they killed her.
ReplyDeleteNadia died didn't she? :(
ReplyDeleteOh they didn't just kill her. They decided to ruin her quite horrifically beforehand.

ReplyDeleteThis whole crossover week could have been the finale...really disturbing and upsetting but so powerful and well written. Well done all involved.

ReplyDeleteDoes Dick Wolf hate women? He has killed off three women off his Chicago shows. Who's next? Brett? Burgess? This is getting old.

ReplyDeleteI'm seriously asking myself the same question?
ReplyDeleteThey never shed any light on why he did this in the first place!
