  1. I'm not even going to try and save face. I cried all the way through Raylan and Boyd's last scene. Beautiful, painful bittersweet scene.

  2. That was perfect. It was perfect because it stayed true to the characters. Those final moments were so great and I got real emotional during the end.

P.S. Thank God for Raylan's hat.

  3. That was an amazing series finale for an amazing show. I will miss Justified. Loved the show, the writing and all the great actors/actresses.

  4. Completely satisfying and poetic ending. Right until the last scene, I was worried something was going to suddenly shift and one of the regular characters was going to end up dead. I'm so glad they ended it the way they did--with everyone in tact.

  5. That was a pretty damn good ending and a great final season. Top 10 show of all time in my opinion. I'm gonna miss this show. I've lost both Sons of Anarchy and Justified within the matter of 4 months and I don't know how I'll be able to replace my 2 favorite shows. FX is gonna have trouble replacing these 2 phenomenal series.

  6. How could anybody vote awful for this amazing series finale? Damn troll!

  7. Sam here. So many shows as of late kill of their main characters in the finale but on this show it doesn't work. It ultimately was about a good man who has his vices but does the right thing when called for.

  8. Completely agree.

  9. OK here is my review of it because I thought that was so beautiful and I still have tears in my eyes.

    "We dug coal together.”
    “That’s right.”

Every since the series began pretty much everyone expected Justified to end with either Raylan or Boyd dead (or maybe both). It felt inevitable and not in a predictable way but just because this was their story and that had to be their conclusion.

I am absolutely delighted then that the series took a different direction instead and even though Boyd Crowder believes neither himself or Ava got out of Harlan alive it turns out all 3 of them did. Ava is safe with her young son, Raylan seems to have let go of a lot of his anger and is happy in Florida and Boyd may be in prison but seems a lot happier than he was before (and still playing the game as good as he ever did).

That end scene between Raylan and Boyd was beautiful. I was in tears and it ended the only way it could - them remembering that bond from their past.

Much thanks to Graham Yost and the cast and crew for such a wonderfully unexpected series finale and for the 6 seasons that led up to it.

  10. Brilliant finale. I'm so happy they didn't go for the dark, complex ending that so many shows seem to strive for these days. Instead, Justified stayed true to its characters and to its story, and it delivered a beautiful ending as a result. Walton Goggins, you are amazing.

  11. I thought it was a great finale. I've been let down by many finales over the past few years but thankfully this was not one of them.

If it weren't for the fact that I was hoping for something more in the finale with Raylan and Loretta I would have said it was perfect. So I guess I'll settle on nearly perfect.

  12. I'm pretty old and full with sarcasm, yet I got teary eyes too. And on a scene which wasn't even tragic, wasn't happy, wasn't sweet... just true

Absolutely not the outcome what I have expected, yet a perfect end of one of the most underrated top-of-the-line show.

People always lament why excellent shows ends instead going on, and yes, I too would love to watch several more seasons of Justified. Yet I'm happy they finished it, because with this last season they made a perfect piece, something I'm willing to re-watch any time and I know I will enjoy it every time.

  13. "We dug coal together."

What a fantastic way to finish off the show. That last scene with Boyd and Raylan was so beautiful. After everything......

Thank you to the cast, crew, and production team of Justified for putting out a quality show over the years.

It has been a real pleasure to watch. Please, leave me some tears for Mad Men's series finale, show XD

  14. Beautiful finale. Magnificent season.

I'm so glad that all 3 managed to get out of Harlan alive. It wasn't the ending I was expecting but it probably is the most satisfying conclusion that could have happened. It was like the anti-Breaking Bad finale. Not everything has to be dark for it to be powerful.

Wonderful acting by Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins in that final scene. I'm going to miss all the characters and the music.

My favorite season of Justified hands down. Sorry Mags Bennett.

  15. Well, looks like you gave them a talking to because they changed their minds.

  16. That is the only thing I was missing. I would love to have seen a glimpse of Loretta in the future or a little more dialogue between the two after he killed Boon. Did she move on to become a young Mags Bennett?

  17. I love reading all of the comments here and the critics reviews for this finale. It seems to be unanimous. Justified gave us the best and most satisfying finale we could have hoped for.
Also unanimous is the love of Boyd and Raylan. That end scene will stay with me for a very long time.

    "We dug coal together.”
    “That’s right.”

I really believe that was a hard scene for TO and WG to get through but they were perfect. I couldn't ask for more. The eye contact, the sadness in their eyes. The calm acceptance.

In a time when most shows have run out of ideas and end their series with shock and awe moments that make no sense, out of character scenes that change the tone of the show, or when they just don't stay true to their characters, this finale should be the "How To End A Series" Guide.

I'm tearing up writing this so you know it's a good show when you they make you fall in love with a hero and a villain, only to love them both and cry when it's over.

I am so glad they didn't kill any one of them. I'm happy that Wynne is surfing in Fiji. I'm happy that Ava is raising her son in a small, quiet community, a whole country away from Kentucky and I am so very happy that Raylan gets to eat ice cream cones with his little girl in a park.

  18. I think it's safe to assume with her relentless aspirations and Avery, Boon, and Boyd out of the way.

  19. I agree with it about the perfect piece. There are some other shows that don't get to be that.

  20. Love it, loved it, loved it. A bitter sweet bookend to the Pilot. Worthy of Emmys all around for writing and acting. I'm sure going to miss this show. No doubt, the reality will set in next Tuesday night . . . no more Justified. :(

  21. a fantastic and fitting end to a wonderful and sore underrated show... Like some here, at first I was expecting to see a dark and complex resolution and/or a possibly a rip roaring shoot out action filled finale, but in the end the show focused on what was the strength of the show: the characters, the relationships and the layers underneath everything. And the final closing scene between Raylan/Boyd was tonally perfect and well executed. Thanks for all the quality entertainment these past few seasons, and this show and it's wonderful snappy dialogue will be sorely missed......

  22. Yeah Walton said he was crying at the end of that scene and well you can see why, so beautifully done and so true to the characters. I really like that they managed to find some peace with one and other, they will always have the connection of the mines which others just didn't understand.

  23. I guess it all depends on whether weed got legalized or not, if so they I can imagine Loretta as this really respected member of society running the whole business. If not well she would still be running the business just on the wrong side of the law!

  24. Awesome finale to an awesome series!
The finale was completely satisfying on every level and that is a rarity even for the best series....

One of the more lighthearted moments made me laugh so hard...
When Raylan responded to Boyd asking him how he knew it was him by saying, "Your teeth glow in the dark."

For seven years I have been wondering how this ex-coal miner criminal has managed to get and keep his perfectly straight and absolutely white teeth and in the finale even Raylan had to joke about it!! XD

A small inconsequential moment of dialog, but it is such a perfect representation of the brilliance of Justified.

  25. The line that resonated with me was "It takes a real man to walk away from temptation". I'm not sure I got it verbatim but there it is.

  26. Awesome end for one of my favorite shows, everyone that should have died did. Raylan and Boyd had me in tears. Going to miss all these characters.
