Well, they cast the new Prince's role very well - he plays evil perfectly-- he will be very easy to hate. I wish they were not assassinating Juliette's character though. And I do not like where they are taking her. There is supposed to be a major death at the end of the season. I liked my Grimm group the way it was.
This was another 'meh' case of the week. After almost four full seasons, if Grimm is going to continue to rely so heavily on the procedural element then they should work on improving their cases.
I'm really starting to hate Juliette. She is turning into a really evil person, but to be fair she is not herself because of her powers kind of the same with dean in supernatural when he became a demon he acted differently.
Oh whatever first people didn't like her because she was boring then people didn't like her because she brought "nothing" to the team so might as well justify it now and anyways this actually might open up some new direction for the show. She may become a threat and cause trouble and with her being so powerful nick may start focusing more on being a grimm instead of a cop
Case of the week was nothing special. Looks like Kenneth will be a formidable antagonist. Trubel's keeping in touch with Nick - that was so good to see. Made me smile.
But the promo for the next episode has made my tolerance levels for the show plummet to an all time low. I like the Juliette arc and how she is descended down a dark path but to have her and Renard hook up would be, IMO, a catastrophe. A freaking complication on top of the already existing nauseous complication of Adalind being pregnant with Nick' baby
It's also making me revise my death prediction. I had Mama Grimm as a fatality by season's end but Juliette also appears to be a strong candidate now.
I know that the message wasn't for me especially, but I was just trying to say that I'm not like some others that always hated her or like some people hate trubel( which in my case I don't really have a problem with her either). I just don't like how a character that the show has shown is really a good person turns evil, but I guess that the writers tought it was a good decision to keep the show interesting.
Juliette may be the one to die. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will die heroically as a Hexenbiest, but survive as a human. Henrietta's prediction will remain intact and Juliette and Nick can be together. Then, of course, Juliette and Nick can raise their baby that Adalind is currently carrying. You know, since Adalind was using Juliette's body at the time of conception then the baby would biologically be Juliette's ... right? That's how I'm hoping it will all play out anyway.
Realistically though, I think Nick's mother will be the one who dies in her attempt to protect Diana from the Royals. That would be a major death, yet still keep the core characters in the show. I don't know what will happen with Juliette. However if Adalind can regain her Hexenbiest powers, then why can't Juliette regain her humanity? I will say that Juliette's current story has made her a more interesting character to the point I'm rooting for her and Nick like never before. It's just not right for Juliette to be cursed for selflessly giving Nick back his powers.
That was really sad what they did to the character on SH and what twitterdom did to the poor actress who played her on what is a great show with the exception of what they did with Katrina. Here,Juliette was becoming a loyal and awesome member of the team and now this rubbish. You would think having a Hexenbiest on your side( like with Moma Renard ) would be a really useful power and a tool to keep Juliette more on equal footing with the contributions of the other team members. And, by the way, whatever happened to her being a practicing vet.
The writers wanted to shake things up a bit, with Juliette and boy are they doing it, the recycled plot of Adalind being pregnant again is repetious enough, I really miss Juliette being apart of team Grimm, I'm just trying to be patient and watch it play out, I hate they're letting Renard and Juliette go there again, the prince is going to be a headache for the gang he's pretty scary!!
Good ep. the cotw wasn't anything special, but the other plot with the intro of the new evil prince was the better part of the ep. And even though I kinda like the turn of Juliette as a HB as it made her more interesting, I'm not all that excited about taking her down a dark path.... but I'll just wait and see how things unfold...
This is the second case in a row (3rd instance for Grimm as a whole) where the solution has been to use very strong chemicals and I am uncomfortable with this. I can't believe that the solution to this beauty and the frog situation is to permanently scar someone, are we to believe that the women of this species haven't come up with a solution in over 3 generations? Also who is paying Rosalee for her time, ingredients and looking after the shop when she is spending more than half of her time brewing up chemicals to help Nick fight the COTW? Lastly, have they explained why Juliette has left THE HOUSE SHE OWNS to stay with Renard? I can understand if she asked Nick to move out as she wants to spend some time by herself. But why has she left the beautiful house that she inherited from her family(?) to move in with Renard. Is she a vet still?
1. They did say it was experimental. If someone ever figured out a similar formula to address the problem earlier , it probably didn't turned as great as they hoped as well and decided not to put it on record.
The girl was desperate so she could care less about any side effects, even if it's permanent, and by the looks of it, she finally found a man who like her no matter what she looks like. So win-win.
And surely, it's better this than the conventional alternative: Getting scarred the same way as her mom and grandmother.
2. Business must be booming enough for Rosalee to have the time and resources to devout herself in helping Nick.
3. Probably too repetitive to see Nick scrashing in Monroe's house again, which does not really excuse the writers in giving Adalind another pregnancy storyline even though it was apparently planned ahead before Claire Coffee announced that she was pregnant.
Same here. The writers seem to be very protective of their main cast, so I'm inclined to believe that it won't happen. So far I like this storyline for Juliette and I don't mind this darker side (as long as she doesn't go completely off the rails). Even though Juliette isn't behaving like her old self, I still think that all of her actions to date have been expected, and within reason, given everything that has happened to her. I think this contrasts with Katrina's transformation which really seemed out of the blue. I think it makes sense that Juliette would be angry with Nick to the extent of moving out because 1. she wouldn't be in this situation if he hadn't wanted his Grimm powers back, and 2. because she probably senses that with these new changes, Nick would no longer be attracted to her. I think that her personality and emotional changes are part of becoming a Hexenbiest, which is why I'm not surprised that she's suddenly attracted to Renard. I actually think that the writers are doing a great job portraying what she's going through....so far, at least.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Bitsie Tulloch was tired of playing the helpful supportive girlfriend and requested something grittier for her character. The writers stuck with Juliette's character in the first two seasons, even in spite of all the hate from viewers. so if the writers didn't pander to fans by killing her off in the first two seasons, I can't see them doing it now, especially given that a lot more viewers have warmed up to Juliette. Juliette's dark path can go in a lot of interesting ways that don't necessarily have to culminate in character assassination so I'm staying optimistic!
BTW, I think that what happened to Katrina wasn't so much pandering, but a lazy solution concocted by the writers to rectify the love triangle trainwreck that they were entirely responsible for creating. I liked Katrina too, but the writers put her character in an impossible third-wheel situation, because they spent the entire first season developing (and capitalizing on) the relationship between Ichabod and Abbie.I think it was unfair and unrealistic of them to expect most viewers to suddenly embrace Katrina's arrival in the 21st century, especially when it meant disrupting the strong Abbie/Ichabod pairing that the writers had developed. I don't think that the twitter hate was the issue (most TV love triangles attract twitter hate). The issue was that the writers backed themselves into an impossible corner, and chose the easiest way to get out of it. I think Grimm is very different since most viewers seem to be OK with Nick and Juliette's relationship and don't really ship anyone else with NIck. So there wouldn't be much motivation to assassinate Juliette's character.
I don't necessarily mind Juliette going dark (yet) but there are certain things they should stay away from and revisiting the whole Renard thing is one of them.
I mostly really liked the episode. Kenneth's fight with Renard threw me off. I don't like Kenneth, but I suppose I can see the purpose of a bully...he struck me as conniving but not particularly smart. I think when it comes down to it though...I think my biggest issue is that it's sending them further and further away from the key story. And what's up with the bleeding wounds already!
Real heartbreaker, because suddenly everyone is pushing Renard around. He should have woged and killed even more annoying than usual (what an accomplishment!) Juliette when she woke him up.
I liked Juliette being "in the know", I don't like her being this hateful and turning to Renard. I can understand her being angry, mad, confused.
I'd rather her grow and become a strong part of the team. I really wish they'd go more on the Grimm side of things, away from the cop side. Give him regular cop things to deal with and a longer term Grimm problem (like with Trubel). More than just the royal family stuff.
While I wasn't on board with the baby storyline the first time around and don't want to see another one, I'm not sure what else the writers could've done this time. it's not like they can hide Claire's pregnancy the way they did with Bree's pregnancy. Or they can't exactly fired the actress because she's pregnant...or taker her out of eps for the rest of the season , pretty sure she has a contract with a min of eps to appear in
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
WHAT is going on with Juliette?!!

ReplyDeleteAnd what's that about Katrina I mean
ReplyDeleteThey didn't know what to do with her and in the end caused a huuuge mess.

I like her before, I didn't say I always dislike her.

ReplyDeleteKatrina turn evil, because of Henry, since she wants to protect him at any cost meaning to kill others if necessary.

Have we ever seen vessen who are gay or lesbian? For some reason I thought the date would have been with a woman.
ReplyDeleteIf only the prince's name is not "Kenneth" because it doesn't really sound as serious, menacing and evil the Prince turned out to be.

Funny and true
